OSTERIA DA FIORELLA by Max Mariola

We came all the way from Australia, very excited to finally try the famous Chef's Max Mariola's recipes at his restaurant, but unfortunately my expectations wasn't fullfilled. My husband and I ordered for starters the Roman Artichoke and the Polpettes and it was great... we got very excited until the main meals arrived. We ordered for mains the Spaghetti Carbonara, Fettina in padella (veal slice) and mixed salad. The eggs mixture on carbonara pasta sauce was raw (trust me, I know it's made with raw egg yolk) but literally I could only taste the running eggs and burned bacon.... really sad... The veal was given to us overcooked and covered in oil, it was not easy to cut. The salad, oh gosh... for a famous restaurant, it could be a little bit more than just a small amount of lettuce, tomatoes and onions... any other restaurant in Europe serves a better "Insalata mista" than that. I really feel sorry for Max Mariola, because I do believe he has invested his hard work, name and soul in his business, but he needs to take his chefs (in the kitchen) to another level of service. At the end of our meal the staff were hovering around us to move us on despite the fact that we still had our bottle of wine to finish. The venue was not busy with plenty of tables to spare. I have to say that the wait staff that attended to us at the beginning was very nice and friendly, so thank you for that!

Excellent service, they go far than beyond and all recommendations from the Manager Robert were absolutely delicious. Their waitress service excellent. Definitely you have to try this osteria, real delicious Neapolitan cuisine .

It was a great experience, the pasta with zucchini flower is spetacolare!

We were a group of tourists and wanted to try typical Italian dishes and we did just that. Everything was amazing, the food and the wine were phenomenally. The service was also very good the girl explained everything to us and was very kind.Recommending!

AWESOME!!! Everything was amazing, we just had the best food ever!!! The Pinsa with cicoria and porchetta was one of the dishes I have ever had! The fettina panata was tender inside and crunchy outside, so flavorful! And the bruschetta with lupini was to die for! The service was impeccable, all the gentlemen were so friendly and professional. Please go and enjoy this wonderful place! THANK YOU!!!

The pasta was amazing! I tried the carbonara and I found it really tasty. The involtini was ok and the roasted veggies on the side were a bit burned. Food 4/5. The service needs some work because there was a lot of confusion and attitude, but it could be due to the fact that the place is still new.

Food is good. Service is just awful. Waited more than an hour for pasta and at the end did not get it. Waiters just run around without even paying any attention to us. Do not recommend!
