Osteria Da Fortunata Miami Review - South Beach - Miami - The Infatuation

"Osteria Da Fortunata is a restaurant in Rome where people wait in line for hours to get in and spend nearly as much time arguing in various comment sections if this place is overhyped or not. We can’t contribute to that discourse, but we can tell you that their casual Miami location (the first one outside Italy) is making the best pasta on Lincoln Road. Yes, that’s kind of a low bar, but the carbonara here is rich, salty, and intensely yolk-y. It’s good enough to give you flashbacks to that Roman vacation, but the $34 price will remind you that you’re unfortunately on Lincoln Road. The carbonara is the best thing on the menu, but every pasta we’ve tried has been solid (and over $30). Even though the prices here would send a Roman into a flurry of exasperated hand gestures, Osteria Da Fortunata takes its food a lot more seriously than most of its sidewalk cafe neighbors." - Ryan Pfeffer

Best carbonara in Rome! We walked in at 12:30 for lunch with no reservation and were quickly seated with no problems. The carbonara was perfectly al dente and was a perfect mix of cheese, egg and pepper in the sauce. The pesto was surprisingly delicious, with whole pine nuts scattered throughout and a generous serving of pasta. The tiramisu was also a generous serving and had decent flavouring- we wouldn’t rate it as the best we have had though. Overall this is a must visit restaurant when walking around in Rome- make sure to order the Carbonara!

A little gem, packed equally with locals and tourists. The food is as good as it gets without the fluff. The staff is super friendly. We had a party of four hungry people adults and everything was cooked the traditional way, generous, flavorful. A great snapshot of the roman food. Even the desserts are solid, highly recommended if you want something authentic. The only downside, it can get pretty loud in summer.

Best Italian food we had in Rome and wish we can come back to try again! Delicious food and beautiful song from waiter. English menu easy to place order, waiter was nice and friendly. Toilets were downstairs very clean! Love this restaurant so much ! Our last day in Rome and had such wonderful food ! What an amazing experience 🥰 Worth to visit again and again! Google
Very reasonable prices considering that the pasta is homemade and the location is very central. Nevertheless, after having tasted so many traditional Roman dishes, you can taste the authenticity of this pasta and the fact that you see them making it live might also leave some placebo effect. Overall, excellent food and service but it can be noisy at times inside.

Google
We had the Suppli from the appetizers, amatriciana and carbonara from the pastas, and Aperol as our drinks. All of them were really nice, we especially liked the suppli a lot. The sauces of the pastas were a bit thick but the pasta itself was great! Even though it’s quite touristy, I would still recommend it. Keep in the mind that the waiting time might be a bit long.

My husband and I were on our honeymoon in Rome, Italy, and came here for a date night dinner! It was wonderful. There was a long wait, but it was worth it. The food was delicious. They hand make the pasta in the window. The service was great! The staff was friendly. We really enjoyed everything! We plan to come back when we're in Rome again. We would definitely recommend it!

Osteria da Fortuna is clearly a local favorite—so much so that all four of their locations near the Pantheon were buzzing with long wait times when we visited. We first stopped at the branch right in the piazza facing the Pantheon, and while it was full, the concierge was wonderfully helpful. He suggested another of their locations and even arranged a large electric golf cart to whisk our family of seven over to the branch near Campo de’ Fiori market. The food there was nothing short of spectacular. The homemade pasta was silky and fresh, with ingredients that tasted like they’d just been picked. Every bite was bursting with authentic flavor. Service was quick and attentive; while our waiter’s English was a little slow, he was incredibly kind and made sure all our requests were met. We ended on a high note with a dreamy tiramisu—light, creamy, and the perfect sweet finish to an unforgettable Italian lunch. An absolute must-visit when in Rome

Google
Staff were lovely and relaxed, not trying to pull people in off the street. They spoke English and there is a qr code for an English menu. The carbonara was out of this world amazing. The best I’ve had in Rome so far. We also enjoyed the suppli and stuffed olives for starter and had the veal with Parma ham with sage butter. The panna cotta at the end was also insanely amazing and I highly recommend getting the fruit one!

Yelp
I heard this place from my family. If you're looking for a meal with both flavor and personality, Osteria Da Fortunata is the place to be! The staff were full of enthusiasm and energy. I was memorized by the sight of fresh pasta hand rolled in front of me. Our server Fabrizo took our order quickly even takes great selfies We tried the pasta with ragu, which was solid (4/5), but the real star of the night was the lamb (5/5)--absolutely tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was warm and passionate as the food. You can even take home a cup for 10 bucks Would definitely come back for more! Highly recommend if you're in the and it's right next to the pantheon. Great for pictures.

Yelp
It was definitely a nice experience to see how handmade pasta is made. This restaurant is better with reservation if you don't want to wait. It does get packed at certain hours. It feels homely inside. It's very lively and the staff are friendly. They have a sense of humor too. We shared all our dishes. I would recommend them all: suppli, carbonara, meatballs, and tiramisu. Bonus: they sell their cup for $10 (packaged in a box), make a cute Rome souvenir!!

Yelp
Ambiance: it's one of the most popular restaurants in the area, the waiting line is usually not bad as the turnover of this place is fairly fast Service: very fast, severs almost come to your table to place the order right after you got seated, and your plates would be taken away as soon as you finish, this is not the type of Italian restaurant for slow pace to chill, and they expect you to eat quickly and leave soon Food & Drink: classic menu for Italy food FETTUCCINE AMATRICIANA - *** guanciale, pomodoro, pepe, pecorino, peperoncino, vino, average STROZZAPRETI CARBONARA - **** guanciale, uova, pecorino, parmigiano, pepe, very creamy and taste, recommend ROSSO - *** CESANESE DEL PIGLIO, house red wine, sour taste ACQUA 75cl - *** bottled water Price: small to moderate portions, decent quality, it costs about €25 per person

Yelp
My wife and I found this location when visiting Rome. The line was long but moved along quite fast. The service was really good and the outdoor eating area was crowded but clean. The food was really good and it hit the spot after a long day of walking and sight seeing. I would recommend this place, if you have time to wait in line. The food is a little pricey compared to other places but it was worth it. Food was delicious.

Yelp
My fiancé and I went here late at night after our flight landed. We were seated outdoors, which surprisingly wasn't too cold. We were also able to see them making the pasta from the window outside. I ended up getting the carbonara, which was great, but I felt like it was a little too thick. Although the ambiance was nice, I felt like the place was overhyped.

Yelp
When in Rome, eat all the carbs and sweet treats. Osteria Da Fortunata was one of my favorite meals during our stay and I would go here again. We waited in line for an hour and got seated inside, they do have outdoor seating. While waiting, when you pass their window they have someone making the pasta noodles which is fun to watch. I ordered the Fettuccine Al Ragu, my partner got the Fettuccine Sugo "Alla Vaccinara and Tiramisu to share. I really enjoyed my dish, the noddles were al dente and sauce was delicious. My partner and I left no crumbs, the staff lady took our plates and smiled at us knowing we enjoyed our meal. The tiramisu was also real tasty!
google avatar

Claire G.

Yelp
Although the outdoor line to be seated is long, the wait was less than 10 minutes. This restaurant is located in the heart of Rome and was conveniently around the corner from our hotel. As you enter, fresh pasta is being prepared by chefs (pretty cool)! Seating is limited and very crowded! We ordered the fiore di zucca (zucchini flower), crocchette di patata, pasta carbonara, fettuccine al ragu, and panna cotta. The fiore di zucca (zucchini flower) was okay; it interestingly had a subtle fish taste, so that was unexpected! The crocchette di patata was delicious, the crust on the outside was perfect! The pasta carbonara was delicious, but it honestly wasn't the best pasta carbonara I've had in Italy. The fettuccine al ragu was also flavorful, but not amazing. The panna cotta was light, refreshing, and the best I've had!

Yelp
Osteria Da Fortunata has been on my social media for a few months. I checked out their reviews and it's got some very good reviews so I made sure to add them to our itinerary in Rome. The main thing about this restaurant is that they hand make their pasta and you get to see it happen! Since Rome was toward the end of our trip, I didn't make too many reservations just in case of anything happening prior to coming to Rome. Osteria Da Fortunata is open earlier than a lot of other restaurants so I wasn't too worried as long as we could go there for an early dinner. No one really eats till 7:30pm or 8:00pm in Italy. Mink was exhausted so I went to dine alone and got there around 6ish. Perfect timing because I was seated right away. They sat me outside next to the window of the two ladies making fresh pasta. One might say the best table of the restaurant! Everything was measured and weighed so they are consistent with their pasta. There are tables inside as well but they were all occupied. I wanted to knock out some regional dishes of Rome so I ordered a Suppli', a Carbonara and a Saltimbocca alla Romana. The place was busy so it took awhile for my meal to arrive. Even my wine took about 10 minutes to arrive. Both dishes came out together as I requested and they smelled amazing! The Carbonara was fantastic but I really enjoyed the Saltimbocca alla Romana. So much flavor and it complimented the rich pasta well. This was a nice slow meal that I got to enjoy while people watching. The line did get long and those in line were asked kindly to stand across the street to not block people walking by. Several people just stopped by just to take photos of the two ladies making fresh pasta. Great experience and I'm glad I didn't have to wait in a long line to dine here.

Yelp
We have been dreaming of trying this famous place. There was no wait for us. We went at night around 9pm and there was couple tables that were empty. We sat outside and felt very peaceful for the perfect Italian meal. We ordered the carbonara and amatriciana. Both were delicious and flavorful. I love the crispy bacon on the carbonara. The noodles were al dente and firmer than what I'm used to but I loved it. The sauce makes it softer as you're eating it as well too. We also ordered red and white wine to go perfectly. The staff were very friendly and English friendly as well. They were informative on explaining the menu to us when we were unsure what something was in Italian. We would love to come back next time we are visiting Rome!

Yelp
Located right in the plaza where the Pantheon is located, you can enjoy a delicious dinner with views of the Pantheon. This plaza gets very populated. We came for dinner our first night in Rome and were seated immediately. We sat outside and were able to dine with night views of the Pantheon. We ordered different pastas to taste and we enjoyed every one of them. My favorite was the cacio e pepe. I loved that while you dine there, you can see the pasta being made. Many people online day this place is a tourist trap but I did get those vibes from this restaurant. I would go again here for sure!

Yelp
Freshly made delicious pastas! They have two ladies that were making the fresh pastas in the restaurant for everyone to see. They were able to squeeze us in for a last minute seating in the afternoon for a late lunch. This place is packed. Food came out really fast. The arrabiata pasta dish was so good. We also ordered the pesto pasta dish, saltimbocca, and a another meat pasta. Everyone was happy with their meal. We also had wine and finished up the meal with sambuccas. Ravioli dish only had about 4-5 raviolis though. My friend said it wasn't enough food.

Yelp
The food was horrible , sauce tasted like can and sweet and salty, it will not come back.

Yelp
I can't stress enough how absolutely delicious this pasta was! Roma has multiple locations but I didn't realize that until after we ate here. I do not regret my choice for picking this location. The service was great and they were so accommodating of since since the place is rather small and we had a stroller. They helped me carry it through the restaurant and sat us somewhere comfortable where my baby can still stay in the stroller. My baby isn't ready for a high chair so it was great to not have her on our lap as we eat. Ok back to the food! The carbonara was sooooo good. Probably one of the best I had in Roma. The pasta was perfectly cooked and I am drooling just thinking about it and posting photos. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The definition of authentic, handmade pasta. Tried the location in Milan, and WOW I was blown away. The tagliettele w/ ragu was to die for. Honestly could eat this every day if I had the option. The wait to get in was about 30 mins for our party, however WORTH THE WAIT.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing pasta in the heart of Rome! They make the noodles in house, in front of you. Restaurant is pretty small so a reservation is necessary. Excellent staff and location. Easy walking distance

Yelp
The first pasta i tried in italy!!! How exciting!!! We came here right at opening, and people were already queuing up an hour before. My family of 12 was about 5th in line. I'm so glad they were able to accommodate all of us at one table. There's a woman at the front hand making each pasta, which was so cool to see. The service was so great! All the waiters were so friendly and helpful with the menu. I appreciated all the little icons of dietary restrictions labeled on each meal. My family basically ordered everything LOL. The stand outs were the oxtail ragu, carbonara, and cacio y pepe. You can really taste the freshness of the pasta. It was the most perfect al dente!!! The waiter recommended the tiramisu at the end of our meal and it was light and airy. Everything here was DELICIOUS!! Such a good start to our Italy trip. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Having been influenced by many vlogs and other recommendations we went here on our first night in Rome to sample at least a couple of the classic Roman pastas. I thoroughly enjoyed my Strozzapreti (handmade on site by women sitting inside the front window) Carbonara. The texture and cook were perfect and sauce itself a good representation of this local staple. My wife's Cacio e Pepe on nice thick Tagliolini was the real star of the night. Among the best I've ever had anywhere. Our suppli appetizer, insalata mista and bottle of Greco di Tufo were all unspectacular but adequate. Great covered patio outdoor seating with a true European vibe.

Yelp
Talk about social media hype. The pasta at this place was terrible in my opinion. Yes everything is handmade, and I even sat behind the sweet lady hand rolling and cutting the pasta. So it's all fresh food. But all the pastas felt undercooked, hard and chewy. What's up with that? We ordered 3 different pastas and they were all the same. How can people hype this up?? Don't recommend, it's Rome, plenty of better pasta on every block. Solid 2 stars.
google avatar

Joshua M.

Yelp
There were good ratings on this place and when we got there there was a line 30 people deep who were waiting for tables so we decided to wait there too. It was a tight restaurant with as many tables in there as they could get so the ambiance wasn't all that great. With the exception of the two women sitting at a table by the window hand rolling pasta all night. We were in a different room so didn't get to watch them all that much. The service was fairly good and quick, we were not disappointed with it at all. For dinner I got the gnocchi with ragù. It was a fairly good gnocchi although not the best I've had. It paired decently with the ragù and made for a decent dinner altogether. For dessert we had the eggnog and a tiramisu. I preferred the tiramisu and thought it was a nice cake style of tiramisu rather than some we've had in cups. Not my favorite place but I'd eat there again.
google avatar

Kathryn J.

Yelp
I'm kind of obsessed with this place. I'm forever on the hunt for the best handmade pastas and I truly believe they have the best. Texture is lovely and they have mastered the cooking time here. All of the sauces are fantastic but my favorites are the carbonara and amatriciana. Service is fairly quick and they have the ability to seat a ton of people which is great. It's right next to the pantheon so if you're lucky you may even score a great view.
google avatar

Jess N.

Yelp
These were hands down the best noodles I've had in my life! The thickness was perfect and I love that you get to see them making the pasta fresh in the windows in front of you! If you ever come across one of these in Italy - GO! Wait the 45 minutes or whatever it may be. You will not be sorry!
google avatar

Ramona H.

Yelp
Service was good. The food wasn't at all. Pasta was hard and seemed undercooked. I wasn't a fan and I'm not sure why it's hyped up on social media, but to each their own.
google avatar

Yelp
I highly recommend this restaurant! This restaurant is nestled at the corner of a busy area with lots of shops and eateries. I was able to get seated fairly quickly, but if you plan on coming in the late evening, I would recommend making reservations. I found the restaurant to have a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The fact that the could see them roll fresh pasta was a huge plus! The food was amazing! The fresh pasta was absolute delicious. The Sciavatelli Arrabbiata was spicy and tangy. Definitely the best arrabbiata I have ever had! The sauce of the Gnocchi Sorrentina was quite tangy, rich, and tasty, but I found the gnocchi to be a little too soft and mushy for my liking.
google avatar

Victoria A.

Yelp
I've been coming to Rome for the past 6 years and in the recent times i can recall there always being a line outside this restaurant! The good news is it moves fairly quickly. We sat outside under the tent and could see the woman making handmade pasta from the window. The service was good but prices were OK (still reasonable compared to New York prices). The cacio e Pepe was so delicious! And I sampled my mom's carbonara which was great as well. Both were a bit "heavy" with the sauce however I didn't mind that If you're in Rome near campo di fiore it's worth visiting!
google avatar

Brittany H.

Yelp
Wonderful pasta! Great service! Gets very busy! We got a table in no time but by time we left there was a line outside!
google avatar

Kevin H.

Yelp
Osteria Da Fortunata in Trastevere was hands down the best food we had while in Italy. The atmosphere was inviting, and the unique experience of watching the noodles being hand-rolled right at the front of the restaurant added a special touch. We ordered the carbonara, which was incredibly flavorful, and the oxtail fettuccine, which was rich and satisfying. The oxtails themselves were perfectly stewed and seasoned, making them a standout dish. It's worth noting that most of the noodles here are cooked al dente, which is typical in Italy, so if you prefer a different texture, keep that in mind. Also portions are pretty big so we ended up with far too much food. All the wines we tried were exceptional, perfectly complementing the meal. The quality here is top-notch, and I know it will be tough to find a place that matches it. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Rome!
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
I saw a lot of people recommended this place when I was looking for pasta restaurants in Rome so came here to try. We had this on our first night in Rome, the food was indeed great! After we spending couple more days, and tried other restaurant, I do think it is slightly overhyped. The staff are really nice, but the tables are kind of close together. A little bit too close for comfort inside. We still had an enjoyable dinner though. Would give 3.5 stars since I was having high expectation, but then found equally if not better pastas at other more low key restaurants around Rome.
google avatar

Vivian Q.

Yelp
Popular with tourists, this restaurant had a small wait when we arrived. We watched fresh pasta being made and enjoyed our dishes
google avatar

Thomas A.

Yelp
Prime real estate (right near the entrance of the breathtaking Pantheon) - when we saw two ladies continually making fresh pasta right in the picture window... it was a no-brainer where we would eat. Portions weren't too big (welcome to Europe), the pricing was fine, the staff were all super smooth and engaging. While it was fun/unique to see your pasta being made (and then weighed) by the women before it went back into the kitchen - the final product/dish wasn't my favorite meal (while in Rome), but we were happy to have given them a try.
google avatar

Maulik M.

Yelp
Every time I come back to Rome, I have to have lunch/dinner at this restaurant. I've been to this place 3 times already during our vacation in Rome over last few years. An unmissable restaurant, pasta made in house, with impeccable service, tasty dishes, among the best tried in Rome. We went to have lunch and at that time it was not crowded at all. To be avoided in the evening, we saw very long queues. Decent prices, must visit if you are in Rome!
google avatar

Bryan T.

Yelp
Don't come here, this restaurant is a tourist trap. Pasta was pricey and portion was small. Don't understand why a lot of social media influencers suggested to come here, my pasta was still undercooked and I've had better pasta elsewhere. But the suppli was good though.
google avatar

Tom J.

Yelp
Beware of the long line to get in ... but absolutely worth it! Get in line early and enjoy what is great service, wonderful ambiance and such great food!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing Roman Italian food that Regina lives up to the hype. Literally everyone recommended this spot to me so we just waked up on. Tuesday lunch and was seated within 20 minutes. Our waiter was so helpful and kind with all our questions in English. But if you scan the QR code you'll get an English menu which was super convenient. Literally the best marinara sauce that my boyfriend and I have ever had in our whole life. The delicious meatballs were absolutely amazing. I have never had rabbit in olives and wouldn't even think of putting it together but it was delicious and savory and cooked perfectly soft. It's located near Piazza Navona so it's kinda busy and can get crowded but the lines go pretty fast and the staff is very efficient.
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
This restaurant went viral online so of course we checked it out! There is a long line to get in but it moved fairly quickly, just make sure you have some time on your hands if this is a place you want to check out. The women making pasta for customers to see was pretty cool, not something I saw at any other establishment. The food was pretty good! The bread was actually one of my favorite items here. In some of the other reviews I saw it mentions the pasta was a bit greasy and I will say that was somewhat true. It wasn't terribly overloaded and I still enjoyed the meal, but could see why other yelpers mentioned it. Overall we had a good experience here but think it is a tad overhyped online.
google avatar

Devon B.

Yelp
This was hands down the best meal we had in Roma (and Venezia). I had the veal with potatoes, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My mom loved the carbonara. The patio was nice and came with a view of women hand rolling pasta, which was really cool to watch. The service was quick and our server was nice. They even have wifi and have QR versions of their menu in many different languages. The menu was marked well based on allergies. I highly recommend coming here on your next visit to Roma.

Yelp
Ordered: Suppli (~€3/each) Cacio e Pepe (~€17) Fettuccine with "Vaccinara" Sauce (~€17) Tiramisu (~€8) Aya's take: We only had a day and a half in Rome and prioritized Osteria Da Fortunata, and I'm glad we did. It was busy and there was a wait (for both locations). We waited over 30 minutes for a table for 5. The Suppli is essentially a fried rice ball with beef, mozzarella, and tomato. It's delicious and rich which is what I needed during a long, exhausting day. The Cacio e Pepe was too cheesy and strong for my liking; I was surprisingly disappointed. On the other hand, the Fettuccine with "Vaccinara" Sauce was amazing! It was decadent, savory, and the meat was unbelievably tender. The Tiramisu is also delicious, and now that I think about it, it was probably the best I had during my Italy trip. Definitely add this to your list!
google avatar

Angela B.

Yelp
Definitely worth visiting at least once ! The food is solid and the carbonara is heavenly! They no longer have the pesto on their menu. The prices are a little high but they are very popular and the service is good! Especially considering how busy they are they're very attentive.

Yelp
Based on the reviews and popularity, we walked several miles from our hotel to try. We had to wait in line to be seated, as did everyone who arrived after us. If you have baggage, I highly suggest dropping it off before eating here. The space is tight. Once inside, you'll have to squeeze your way to your seat, and then it's rush, rush, rush. I believe it's to balance out the wait time outside to get a person in & out. Ask for the WiFi password; your phone will translate the menu and select your order. Once the server arrives, be prepared to give your order promptly, as there isn't much time. We first ordered beer & water to get situated and to quench our thirst. We received the bruschetta, a giant ball of burrata in the center, two slices of bread, one topped with tomatoes & the other with anchovies. We ordered additional bread. Our beverages were served at room temperature; I was pretty upset about the warm beer as we came in feeling parched. Getting the server's attention was challenging, as he was running in & out of the place. I never got the opportunity to address the matter. When I thought I got his attention, I didn't. He was working hard. So I let it go; he had enough to deal with. Our pasta arrived, also lukewarm and stiff as if sitting somewhere before arriving at our table. Our experience did not meet our expectations nor satisfy us, and we did not have an enjoyable, memorable time. In my opinion, the meal was not great. Quite frankly, the restaurant food was overrated, and our experience was rushed.

Donovan D.

Yelp
Sorry, not sorry for the review. They jam pack you in. You are literally elbow to elbow, where people cant even scoot out to get up. I almost never saw my waiters face because I could not turn around. Pasta was OK. Flavor was for sure there. Buffalo mozzarella was the freshest ive seen. But all honestly, the food could of been 10/10, and that didnt matter because we were so uncomfortable. Every person who sat after us was uncomfortable.
google avatar

Kelley B.

Yelp
Always a long line in front of this place. Tonight we decided to wait and the wait was worth it. We both ordered the Carbonera. The strozzapreti farina was handmade right in front of us. They use only the best smoked guanciale crisped up in a skillet like grandma used to do. Great Parmesan mixed with the local pecorino and just enough pepe to have a little bite. The portions were plentiful and we should have split one serving and sampled some desserts. Clean ristorante with good service. Don't miss this place a block off the Navona Piazza.

Yelp
Went here for our last dinner and it did not disappoint. The reviews that didn't care for it, I wonder if they just ordered the wrong item or can't appreciate fresh, hand made pasta. We started with a caprese, good ingredients and the mozzarella was tasty. One got the gnocchi with meat sauce, the other Cacio e Pepe (couldn't leave Rome without getting it once!). Finally, we finished with the veal saltimbocca alla romana - wow. The whole dinner was amazing. Antonio was our server and he was great. So were all the other gentleman that helped us. We sat outside and the weather was perfect, it was fun to watch the pasta being made too. Tables are a little close, but is to be expected. We would totally come back and wish we could again before we go!

Yelp
We came to ODF after a tour on 9/19/24 and we were able to get a table inside right away. Amazing scene of the 2 women hand rolling the fresh pasta. The food at ODF was authentic and flavorful. We certainly didn't feel bloated or stuffed because all their ingredients were fresh and not processed! We were fine with the fact that our food took awhile to come out only because it was worth the wait!! Hands down one of the best restaurants in Rome!!!

Yelp
This is a very popular place and yes by tourists, but the food itself was pretty good. The 2 main dishes we ordered was the Carbonara and the Oxtail Ragú. The pastas itself were chewy and meaty and we enjoyed having substance with the sauce. The carbonara sauce was thick and creamy and worked perfectly with the pancetta. The Ragu sauce was so good but that oxtail was the star of the show and I wished there was more than just 1 bone. The tiramisu was large and good! It had that classic tiramisu flavor. The service was churn and burn and quick. The ambiance was casual and space was very tight.

Yelp
It was NOT for me! I have been in Rome for 3 days and I have only had one- yes one note worthy meal- and it was NOT from this restaurant. When I told my sister that I was not enjoying the food in Rome she asked had I been to the popular spots. I told her no, but I would give one a shot. While I am not active on social media, I understand that this particular restaurant is all over the gram and tik tok. Mainly for the women in the store front " making" fresh pasta. Let me just say it's just code for- tourist being your money our way!! To keep it short and simple, I was NOT impressed. When I arrived via taxi, there was a line of about 15 people. However, since I was only wanting a table for one I was seated rather quickly at an outside table. A staff dropped off a menu and asked if I wanted anything to drink. I declined the offer for a drink. since I have been in Italy I have just been walking around with my own water bottle that I packed from home and filling it up at one of the many free water sprouts around the city. No need to pay for the water that is already free to everyone. After a few minutes of being at my seat, the staff returned and asked if I was ready. I had not even had a chance to review the menu so I had to ask for a few additional minutes. After viewing the QR code menu that was translated to English I opted for a pasta dish with a basil sauce. I don't recall the name, but believe it's the only basil dish on the menu. The food was dropped off at my table in about 5 minutes. When I took my first bite- I was not impressed. The pasta was undercooked. I am very aware that some prefer their pasta to be Al dente. However, I don't, and I actually don't think this was Al Dente. It taste like they literally dropped the pasta in and immediately took it out. The consistency of the pasta was bad. Additionally, the basil did not have a strong taste. I was expecting this to be very flavorful, but on the contrary it was very bland. To sun everything up- I would NOT suggest patronizing this restaurant. The food is just not good.

Yelp
Food was delicious, try it all. Tiramisu was the best in the world. Rolly was as good as the food!

Yelp
Great spot in Rome! Had one of their typical Roman dishes, Gricia, and it did not disappoint. Loved their homemade pasta and service was good. They have opened a location in Miami, FL, so I'm looking forward to trying that location soon.

Yelp
The nice thing about this place: it's a decent restaurant that you can come to without a reservation near the tourist areas. Downside: expect 30 minute or longer waits depending on your party size. We got the gnocchi with meat sauce and ox tail stew. Food is a little more expensive here than other restaurants. However, you also get more food. We didn't have room for dessert after finishing everything. Small comments about the food: flavor is very good. Both dishes have small amounts of meat although I think that's typical of many of the dishes we've had in Italy. The tomato sauce on the ox tail stew was really good so we dipped our bread into it. Didn't waste a single drop. The gnocchi is also good but my taste buds got a little bored of the flavor near the end. Servers are very nice and professional. I'm a bit of a bigger guy so the tables and spacing is also a little cramped.

Yelp
On a recent visit to Rome, I had researched traditional Italian restaurants. Osteria Da Fortunata was on the top of my list. The Spaghetti Carbonara I ordered was on a new level. FANTASTICO!
