Given the restaurant’s awards and the mention in the Michelin Guide, expectations were high, but unfortunately the evening fell short.
To start off, there was a 10 minutes waiting past our reservation time-unexpected at this level. Service was disorganized and very slow: we were served the starters twice, and a third time they had to check if we’d received them. Had to ask twice for the wine list and eventually it came so late that food was served before the wine. The waitress then felt like excusing herself by saying “you know, it’s Saturday, it’s busy”, but it’s not the guests’ responsibility to manage the number of tables and staff.
The food was average: starters were underwhelming, though the mains were better. Again, at this standard I expected more. The only real positives were the excellent atmosphere (they have a great playlist by the way) and a fair price. Overall, a disappointing experience at Dalie e Fagioli.
