Osteria De' Mercati

We sort of ended up spontaneously at this restaurant on a Tuesday evening and what a lovely suprise! We chose the tasting menu without the wine pairing, although we did get a glass of each wine with the helpful recommendation from our lovely server (whose name we unfortunately didn’t catch). The food was absolutely delicious and flavourful. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated and the lighting very cosy. It’s a perfect location for a dinner date. Pricewise, we thought it was very reasonable, especially considering that the restaurant is Michelin rated. Worth the visit!

We opted for the tasting menu and were not disappointed. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and presented, showcasing creative combinations of flavors and textures. The ingredients were of excellent quality, and the staff were attentive and caring, with perfect timing between courses. The atmosphere was relaxed yet elegant. One small note: it would be nice to implement some measures to reduce the noise level.

Unfortunately the restaurant did not live up to expectations. The dishes were indeed perfectly prepared, but unfortunately all of them were pretty cold. The service was nice, but still undercooled. On a Friday evening, the service staff were a bit overwhelmed with a full restaurant, which resulted in long waiting times. Maybe just a snapshot, but unfortunately a bit disappointing for a restaurant in this price range. If the food had been hot, easily 4 stars. And with a more attentive service, maybe 5 stars.

My expectations were higher when I found out that this is a Michelin-starred restaurant. The food is quite simple and the taste is nothing special. The service is decent but slow, it took half an hour to bring us the menu and they also took the order after half an hour. The restaurant's atmosphere is quite comfortable, with a few tables inside, so it feels spacious. The prices are reasonable.

Very good food here, fantastic, and fine service with good wine advice with the dish, until next time.

We walked in and had a great lunch. Food was very good and the two ladies super friendly. The interior is modern and pretty. If you are in Sassari, definitely pay a visit!
