Osteria Del Borro is a beautiful restaurant with great service that utilizes local Tuscan ingredients intended a with high culinary prowess style of execution.
Having said that, some of the dishes really didn't feel like they were made on par with the expectation we had. One of our most anticipated dishes, the Guinea fowl, was very over cooked- dry and chewy. The desert, while beautiful and innovative, had a brioche cake crust that was oddly hard and stale tasting, and oddly very chewy. The accoutrement vegetables paired with Venison was unevenly cooked, some were almost raw, while others overcooked. For these reasons, I can't really rate this restaurant above 3 stars.
The service really made the experience for us. In fact, the service at the entire Il
Borro property is outstanding.
