"Part of the Antinori estate, this restaurant has an elegant feel despite describing itself as an “osteria” (a more informal inn). It occupies an old site next to the old Badia di Passignano abbey after which it is named, and in whose wine cellars some of Antinori’s best Chianti is laid to age. This charming setting is full of history and references to wine. In the kitchen, the young chef maintains strong connections with the region and its wine, creating a menu with a resolutely seasonal focus. The personalised dishes are modern and cleverly designed to make full use of the property’s two stand-out features – the abbey’s beautiful kitchen garden which provides the chef with his herbs and vegetables, and the wine list which is truly impressive. The Tuscan wines are particularly notable, especially the legendary labels from the restaurant’s own winery." - Michelin Inspector

Great Place, everything was completely amazing!!! The service, the wine tasting and the chef’s amuse-bouche (tasting sample) was perfect. For sure one of the top 3 Michelin restaurants in my life.

A la carte only this evening. Nice meal that I enjoyed much more than my partner. Loved the seasonal summer dish highlighting sweet cherry tomatoes, and my venison was excellent. The petit fours were A LOT. We easily could have filled up on those alone. We also had a zucchini dish that unfortunately fell flat. Otherwise, beautifully romantic atmosphere, and the wine list was seriously one of the most impressive we've seen anywhere in Italy.

Our second time at Osteria di Passignano. Two years ago we enjoyed their set menu & wine pairing. This time around we chose a la carte and were equally impressed. The service is emasculate, food is sensational and the wine is the cherry on top. We can’t wait to visit again.

Passed this place and decided to try. Love the decor and very friendly, warm, and service oriented staff. Started with a couple of appetizers that was really good. Decided to go with recommendations and was not disappointed. Each staff has a role in the restaurant so good & bad. But overall, really enjoyed the dinner and awesome experience. They have a wine shop at th3 front on the restaurant. Great selection...

I had a reservation for dinner here but we came earlier to have some glasses of wine from their wine shop while we enjoyed ourselves outdoors with the views of the castle. Beautiful venue. The dinner was amazing, I went with the experience and the sommelier paired it with the Italian wine tasting experience too. Everything on the menu was amazing, from the stuffed crackers to the veal to the pigeon to the dessert. And then also having the pleasure to try the Amaro that is made in the abbey. That was the icing on top. Worth the whole experience. Food is great and service was also top notch. In the end I ended up purchasing bottles of the wine we had because it definitely left an impression. Would definitely come back here again.

Very nice restaurant in an amazing setting. The kitchen has access to a fantastic aromatic garden nearby. The food is very good with some wow moments. The dishes are not overly complicated keeping the identity of the place and avoiding unnecessary complications. The service was a nice surprise as it was discrete but also contributing strongly to the whole experience.

Excellent Michelin 1 star restaurant in the country side near Sienna. Owned by the Antinori Wine family. The restaurant can also conduct a wine tour and explain Italian wines. The monestry building next to the restaurant serves as a wine cellar for Antinori, very very old castle. The upper part still houses some monks. Food and wine at this place is excellent, so do the service. Highly recommended for wine fans......

Google
One of the best Michelin restaurants, surprised it’s only one star to be honest. There’s so much to discuss with this restaurant — Service is excellent, attentive, listens and bring selections you described and goes above and beyond. Wine - extensive and selected perfectly to the food without any questions. Food — my gosh, it’s like the main scene from Ratatouille, where the guy tastes his mother’s dish from a kid, but better — the gnocchi; is the best, in the world. I stand by this 1M times over — I cannot explain the clouds of heaven I walked on while eating this gnocchi, it’s elegant, complex and amazing — like the wines. Huge kids to the chef, superb meal, and the staff who had the experience one of the best. Cannot understate the quality and value here. Would come / and will come back again.

Yelp
A few friends and I dined at Osteria Di Passignano, and overall, it was probably the best meal I have ever had in Italy. Some of the dishes still amaze me. I had not heard of the restaurant before I consulted the Michelin Guide, but was able to book a summer table with about three weeks' notice. The restaurant was not full when we dined there. I didn't know what to expect, even though the menu was online. They had some absolutely amazing and inventive dishes, particularly a collection of meats in a tomato that had been boiled and peeled and cleared out. It was so unique and so delicious -- robably the best tomato-based dish I have ever had. The Ragu dish/pasta course was excellent, with a huge portion showcasing the best of Tuscan meats. While there were only four dishes before dessert, they were all sizable and you did not leave hungry. The menu changes seasonally, so these masterpieces aren't available anymore. But I'm sure the next menu and the next menu are all outstanding and use fresh and local ingredients. The wine list and sommelier were outstanding. There are some expensive options on this list, but the sommelier can guide you to your price point. There were many Italian wines to explore that I have never heard of or considered, and he guided us to some really good values that went with our food. (We did not do the wine pairing.) Overall, an excellent meal with excellent service that I will remember fondly. That's why I trust the Michelin Guide!

Yelp
Enjoyed lunch in early October 2023, the multi course meal was exceptional, the wines served with each course were outstanding and, the service was impeccable.

Yelp
This is nothing but a five star experience, the setting, the foods the wines and everything you experience here will be top notch. Hosted in the Antinori winery, this is both a foodie dream, only made better if you love the wines as well. The tasting was beyond good, did not hold back on the wines in their catalogue. We were there it seemed for hours and loved every minute including a tour of the winery. If you re in the region, this is a must do

Yelp
We had the chef's tasting menu - 80 euros for lunch, 100 euros for lunch accompanied by 3 glasses of wine. The restaurant is gorgeous - high end, very classy, with very attentive and well trained servers. The food was fantastic, definitely the finest meal we had in Italy. Very memorable, though not cheap, and worth every penny...

Yelp
Fine dining but still had a casual laid back feel to it. Service was top notch which is expected and all the dishes were fantastic. The quality of the pasta was a cut above the typical trattorias in Tuscany and that's no easy feat. Tried pigeon for the first time and is surprised on the upside, it's the other read meet. Also loved how you could get tiagnanello by the glass, probably my favorite wine and it always tastes better at the vineyard.

Yelp
A beautiful restaurant in a gorgeous setting, and an amazing dining experience! A short drive from Florence makes for an easy day outing.

Yelp
Michelin rated restaurant. It will take sometime reaching it, as you drive pass vineyards to get to it. Impeccable is the best way to describe it from it's beautifully decorated interior, dining area and the entrance drapped in endless wine bottles. We selected the wine tasting course meal. $100 per person will get you 3 exceptional wines paired with 4 course chef's choice selections. You can also go with $140 per person and have a selected meal option. I loved everything we tried, the dessert tray at the end was to die for. We got in without a reservation but the place quickly filled after our arrival I suggest reservations. The location of this restaurant is just beautiful - off and away in the vineyards.

Yelp
On the way from Florence to Tuscany, we stopped by the winery and restaurant at the recommendation of the concierge. It was a lovely experience seeing the 4th century monastery/winery and sampling the wines. The restaurant is a perfect Tuscan country house with an elegant twist. we ate: Olive oil tasting- they give you a tiny spoon to eat it, no bread needed. Cauliflower flan Tomato Ravioli with pesto- perfect basil and tomato flavors Cornish hen with asparagus Cheese plate- too much! So full! Would absolutely recommend this stop in wine country.

Yelp
Great wine list, excellent food and service. Atmosphere is a bit stuffy - definitely a special occasion place that you should dress up for but excellent for that purpose!

Yelp
My wife and I had this recommended to us. We made a drive down from Florence during the day and toured the Chianti countryside...then had dinner at Osteria Di Passignano. A great dining experience from the moment we arrived. Everything about thee restaurant was exquisite. The wine list extensive. The service was just as you would hope for...presentation was incredible.

Yelp
Had a charming lunch here next to the ancient chapel. It was an outdoor setting but very classy. The interior is really nice too. Prices were reasonable fir the high quality of food and setting. Ravioli was really sparse and a bit heavy.

Yelp
10 stars. The winery tour/lunch with wine-pairing/olive-oil tasting were better than anything we have experienced in the San Francisco Bay Area and wine country in the past 30+ years. Osteria di Passignano was exceptional and well worth the 45 minute drive from downtown Florence. In fact, my family agrees it was worth the entire trip to Italy. Really exceptional.
