Osteria Expanificio

"Situated in the historic centre between the Pirandello theatre and the belvedere, this former bakery has been transformed into a modern, welcoming restaurant, with models of bread and rolls on the walls recalling its previous life. The menu features a selection of some of the island’s most famous dishes, including stuffed sardines, Robiola goat’s cheese ravioli, caponata and “involtino alla Siciliana” (Sicilian veal rolls)." - Michelin Inspector

Great spot for a tasty meal. On the pricey side, however, could not find anything to fault. The service was very good overall, the atmosphere great and the food was tasty and nice as expected, specially the risotto! We drove there and although we could not figure whether there is private parking at the restaurant, we could easily find a free bay to park a little bit further down the road (before getting to the restaurant).

This was one of the main highlights of my trip in Sicily. The flavors are incredible and the street terrace setting is both beautiful and easy going vibe with a lively atmosphere. Not even accounting for the well balance prices of the site vs its flavour. The dishes are outstanding. The only downside is that you cannot try them all at once, which means you will want to return again and again. The melanzane tart was full of flavor, perfectly cooked, tender yet with a nice crunch. The octopus salad, though simple, was the freshest and most flavorful I had in Sicily, far above the others I tried. Choosing a highlight between the risotto with raw shrimp and burrata or the ravioli with pistachio sauce is impossible as both were exceptional. Desserts, however, felt less memorable. The ones I tried were simple and lacked the same quality and local character that made the main dishes so remarkable. Perhaps opting for simpler dessert choices would work better. Overall, Osteria Expansificio is a must-visit for its outstanding food, vibrant atmosphere and unforgettable flavors.

The best meal we had in Sicily!!!! Good service, cute terrace and amazing food. I would highly recommend light: - vitelo tonnato - the ragú (we ordered as dessert too, 2nd round ajajaj) - rissotto with scampi - the pasta with sea urchin

We had a drink and starters. The local beer was good and my "Fantasy" cocktail was alright. Not as frizzy as expected according to the description on the menu. We ordered a bruschetta with pancetta, honey and almonds which was probably the best bruschetta Ive had in my life. The eggplant pie was good but not for the price. Copperta is 3eur per head. The view is nice out of the hill too, but there's always cars passing by.

Dining alfresco, to the accompaniment of impatient Italian drivers. Worth every second as the food and drink are on another level. If you're in Agrigento then this is a must visit eatery.

Food was not worth the price. Sear on the steak was not good. The ravioli was ok but the meat was undiscernible. The steak was the worst of it. We ordered one white and one sparking wine and waited until our entre arrived before we had to flag someone down to get it. The ricotta dessert was gritty and not good. Finally, they wanted cash instead of card without any indication up front. Go somewhere else, honestly felt scammed.

The food was a complete letdown ... no way this place deserves to be on the michelin guide. The food is tasteless and bland. The eggplant dish tasted like it was old and reheated, and the beef is very dry and does not have much taste. I ordered it medium rare, it came medium, and the glass of wine i ordered came after we finished dinner. I would not recommend this place and probably never dine there again.

Start to finish, just excellent! From Salvo the masterful mixologist, to Claudia, who fit us in without reservations, and took great care of us, a perfect evening in Agrigento. The food was to die for!
