Osteria La Briccola

Myself and my family had the opportunity to eat at La Briccola last week. We sat outside, which was beautiful, even with the warm weather. There was plenty of shade and the view of the trees and the sound of the creek made for an excellent atmosphere. We ordered two bottles of wine, two salads, an appetizer, four entrees and three desserts. All of the food was quite well prepared, delicious and came with great service. My only complaint is that while the bread is quite excellent, there isn't enough bread served to begin with and the fact that they charge you for extra bread, especially for a party of 6, comes off as cheap. I'm been to plenty of upscale Italian restaurants around the country and this hasn't been the case. The atmosphere inside was also quite excellent. The server was friendly and attentive. The owner came around to all of the tables to check in and assisted us when needed. We even purchased one of their delicious pasta sauces after finishing our meal. I would recommend getting a reservation, especially during peak tourist times of the year.

We stopped in for dinner, a party of four. I think at least a handful of people is nice here because there are a lot of delicious sounding choices, including off menu specials, that make it hard to choose. We got to order a bunch of things and share. The bucatini and halibut (latter was a special) really stole the show, but everything was really tasty. Good service as well. Would recommend in general!

This place was amazing, delicious authentic food, with a beautiful dining area and extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. The patio has a lovely enjoyable atmosphere. The food was amazing and they have vegetarian and gluten free options. This is located upstairs. I highly recommend

As an Ashland local, this restaurant would be at the top of my list for anyone passing through. Normally as a rule, I don't order pastas out at restaurants. You end up just paying for the chef to throw together a sauce. However, when the restaurant specializes in making fresh pasta from scratch, this rule can and must be broken. I have gone to Osteria several times and never ordered a meat dish, always pasta. Pictured you can see my favorite squid-ink pasta. Squid ink noodles, shrimp, and sausage mixed in a gorgeous buttery sauce. The freshness and brininess of the sea collide so beautifully with the heartiness of the sausage. I literally have dreams about it, wake up, and book my reservations. For starters, my go-to is the tricolored salad (green, white, and red elements 🇮🇹). Makes for an excellent meal! I felt bad for the guy sitting next to me chomping on a steak. My advice: don't miss out on the pasta! The ambience here is great. There is a casual bar area, or a more elevated dining room. Go for the patio if the weather permits. The service is typically either phenomenal or average. Be sure to make a reservation and enjoy!

The service here is impeccable. I had almost forgotten what it really feels like to be truly waited on, but they were fantastic. Very obliging, comfortable, not pushy about upselling, but knowledgeable and present, like someone really trying to make sure you have the best meal possible. The food of course was delicious and well presented. Just as fresh and wonderful as it sounds on the menu. Overall just a wonderful meal. A splurge maybe, but the type of place where you’re already dreaming of what you’ll order on your next visit before you even leave, because you can tell everything is good.

What an outstanding dining experience. The food and ambience were outstanding. Our server was upbeat and friendly-great service. We had the lasagna and risotto with scallops. It was excellent. We look forward to our next trip to Ashland. We will definitely y be back.

We ate on the deck it was wonderful. The service was excellent, the food was amazing. We had their artichoke arugula salad, my husband had the Gnocchi with Pomadora Sauce and I had GF pasta with Bolognese Sauce which was the best I have ever had. Definitely give it a try you will love it.

What a wonderful restaurant! The service is absolutely top notch. The manager/gentleman that sat us (?) was absolutely wonderful and hospitable. Despite us not making a reservation, he was going above and beyond to accommodate us. That being said, I highly recommend you make a reservation when deciding to eat here (which you should). The outdoor dining space was so beautiful and relaxing. We sat at the bar (as we did not make a reservation and only intended to stay for a few drinks) and Vanessa (bartender) was so sweet. Cocktails were delicious! If you want delicious Italian food served by friendly staff, do yourself a favor and make a dinner reservation here.

I am 100. % of Italian heritage . I've eaten in NYC and San Francisco at some of the best Italian restaurants . I've eaten my way around Italy I executive cheffed at an Italian restaurant in Northern California. This place is like eating in Italy . House made pastas and a variety of fantastic sauces . You WILL NOT be disappointed . I can't wait to travel back to Ashland just to eat here again . I highly recommend it .

Ashland local here! This is my favorite spot for dinner in town and my go-to when people visit me. Their homemade pasta is legendary with the locals!! It is so delicious and savory. My favorite menu items are the ragus! They have lamb ragu and pork ragu- both are fantastic!! The owner is from Napa and takes wine so seriously so they have an extensive wine list that is amazing. If it is summer, request a spot on their outdoor patio that overlooks the river. It is truly the perfect date night spot.

In town for a worktrip and we were recommended to check out Ashland. Great vibe, staff and the food was delicious. Meal came with to a small plate of herb bread. The carpaccio di manzo tartufo was devine! Also got their seasonal shaved artichoke salad. We ordered the Papparedelle agnello pistassho and gnocchi with pesto. Everything was delicious. Gnocchi was the softest pillowy gnocchi I ever had. Desserts was also yummy. Ordered the creme catamel all'amaretto and the chocolate tortino. 1000% recommend. We were able to walk in and got seated at the bar but would recommend you make reservations.

Loved this restaurant! Northern Italy cuisine prepared beautifully. I did not take many pictures here because I was so busy enjoying the food! It's located upstairs in the main part of town and the dining area is beautiful and interesting. The chef/owner previously had a restaurant in Los Angeles area and the walls are covered in pictures of him with celebrities. We started with Prosecco and a lovely arugula, walnut and Gorgonzola salad accompanied by fresh focaccia. Entrees were black squid ink shrimp risotto and lasagna-both fantastic! Wonderful service and a very elevated dining experience.

We came here for Sunday brunch. The menu was very small and entirely breakfasty. But the food was of extremely high quality. The French toast in particular - not too much of it and very well prepared.

On every level this experience was phenomenal. A pretty elite restaurant with great ambiance, food, and service. A great way to celebrate my daughter's graduation.

Went here for our anniversary dinner and the meals to service didn't fall short AT ALL! The food was Devine!

La briccola Stunning atmosphere and top shelf staff. If weather permits, go for a table on the patio. Menu is classic trattoria style: antipasti, primi, and secondi setup. The also have a build your own pasta menu which pairs any of their 7 house made pasta with any of 6 distinct sauces. There's also daily chef offering's not found on the menu, so be sure and listen for that. Servers are completely knowledgeable about everything on the menu and very helpful with any questions you may have. Immediately greeted and offered complimentary Prosecco. I started with a most impressive imported burrata paired with prosciutto di Parma with arugula and a drizzle of olive oil. Definitely shareable, but I had to devour it solo tonight. Tonight's special was a bone marrow saffron risotto. While visually appealing, I found it lacked dimension in terms of flavor. The rice itself was cooked as it should be, but the only thing you could taste was saffron. It just took over the whole flavor profile. Sometimes less is more and saffron is one of those times. Turns out they use chicken stock, but I think a beef stock would compliment the marrow. The big split bone sitting on top with marrow exposed looks neat, but I'd rather the marrow be used as an ingredient in the risotto to bring richness and creaminess rather than a garnish on top. My standards may be unusually high and most people will be fine with this. Dessert menu looked fantastic and included my favorite, affogato. Unfortunately too stuffed to partake tonight. A liquid dessert from the digestif menu--Amaro Montenegro hit the spot! I certainly enjoyed my time here at Briccola, and hope to return to explore the menu some more. The service level and staff really set this place apart from others. Oh, allow extra time when making reservations. The parking situation is not optimal and requires at least 5-10 minutes walking and getting on an elevator to finally arrive.

Great service - warm friendly. Food and drinks were as good as any place in Tuscany! Beautiful setting, especially outside seating.

Far exceeded expectations -- loved everything about this place. The food was closer to food in Italy than any American Italian restaurant that I've been to (and I travel and eat a lot). Very flavorful, perfect texture -- our party of 8 had a variety of dishes and everyone was very happy. Had an array of desserts (I sampled them all because did I mention I love to eat??) -- the warm, flourless, chocolate cake with vanilla and berry sauce was out of this world. I wish I had taken more photos but I am attaching a photo of this one. The flan, tiramisu, and panna cotta also gorgeous and delicious. Focaccia bread perfect. Yum yum yum. Our server Jason was the most wonderful person -- so genuine, so helpful, and always right there before we even realized we needed something. I'm really all about the food but he was special and added something to an already delightful experience. Highly, highly, recommended.

We had reservations for 9 people that were made three weeks before the night we were to eat there. They called about 1 1/2 hours before our reservation to tell us they had just realized we had a party of 9 and they were canceling our reservation as they could not accommodate us. They offered no other explanation or accommodation. added I've previously only heard good things about this restaurant, although I have yet to eat there myself. My hope is that whatever caused this to happen does not recur.

Having been several times, it always feels busy (excessive celebrity picture decor probably contributes to that impression) and it feels a little tight between tables. The cocktails and desserts were top notch, and the wine list has a nice range of prices and style choice. The cheese and meat board was delightful. However, the pre-dinner bread was incredibly over-salted and we bread lovers couldn't finish it. But the biggest disappointment was all the pastas we tried. Lamb ragu came highly recommended but tasted of crockpot flavors. Spaghetti was bland. Carbonara not as good as others in town. Service was attentive but not very engaged (ie, making recommendations, suggesting alternatives). Seems this is one of the main places in downtown Ashland to "see and be seen," but it is not a quiet and intimate dinner out.

Absolutely delicious, fresh, fragrant, hearty, and filling! Great portions. Cant wait to try their wine list on my drive down the coast. Also this place is like "Factor's" in LA or The Palm in nyc, except better fare, because all the celebs that have been here have their pics with the chef on the walls... so if you're into the "scene" you'd be into that detail. If you don't care and show up in sweats and birkins like me so you can eat your belly full and elastic does not judge, then you're gonna love the palates served here!!! Definitely worth the stop over. All pastas are made in house daily!

Thinking back to my summer - this is one of the places that I dream about the most. While it is recommended that you make a reservation, we winged it and decided we might be able to get in if we went for the early dinner we were looking for. We scored a table on the patio. The awning was up and that helped with the sun. When the sun was a little less blazin' they lowered the awning and that very much helped with fresh air. The staff obviously has the service down to a science and we were very much impressed with how perfect everything was. I chose the Pasta Fresca where you build your own dish. The penne with the ragu alla bolognese was amazing and my boyfriend loved the lasagna. The fresh made pasta that you can see them making downstairs really does live up to the hype and I'm pretty sure I'm spoiled forever. We were too stuffed for dessert, but I can only imagine that it is also delicious.

What a beautiful place with next to the creek in Ashland! We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday and everyone had a great time! My mom has been here multiple times and always gets the lamb ragu dish. My husband also got that and loved it as well! I had the pene with tomato, garlic and basil sauce which was delicious! They also give you focaccia bread with oil and vinegar. We tried the creme caramel dessert which my mom loved! And we also got the tiramisu. I am a huge tiramisu connoisseur and this was good, but it was more like a tiramisu parfait instead of a cake. Still tasty, just not my idea of a normal tiramisu. Overall, I would definitely come back!

When I was visiting Bologna I asked a wise chef if there was anywhere in the world where I could find authentic Italian food soooo good and he pointed into the distance and said "there is one place..."

I had one of the best dining experiences in recent memory here! Every single thing -- cocktails, bread, salad, pasta, and dessert -- was a 10/10. The chef used to be based in SoCal and he still has people come up to Ashland to experience his food! I see why someone told me this is the closest thing to Italy you can get! The service was also stellar. Our waiter was friendly, engaging, and attentive. Highly recommend!

I'm Italian and haven't found a decent Italian restaurant in years this is the best next to my mother's cooking. We went after recommendations for my wife's birthday and going back for my birthday....

I must start with the outstanding service we had by Kivas. So nice and welcoming. Excellent vibe. She was super attentive and then she noticed that my friend didn't drink her mixed drink because the aperol was too bitter. She said that she wants to know if there are any concerns and she would credit it. Then she was perturbed that my other friend's dessert took a long time to come out and credited that too. She initiated the customer service with both concerns without us saying anything. Impressive! The manager stopped by also to make sure all was well. Now, the food. The Panna cotta was so silky smooth with a luscious raspberry sauce. Best I have ever had. Enjoyed my wild boar ragu and pasta. My friends loved their seafood pasta too. I would highly recommend you to try them out.

A hidden gem in Ashland. Located at the 2nd floor of a building near Lithia Park, you might never notice it unless you google them. My favorite Italian Resto in Southern Oregon so far! It is best to reserve a table online thru Open table coz most nights it's about 30-40 minutes wait if you're a walk in. Food was delicious! My ultimate fav is their Linguine Nere con Salame Calabrese e Gamberi. Service was superb! They check on you 10-15mins interval if you need anything or just to refill your water. A must try whenever you're near Lithia Park or in Ashland. Unfortunately they are not open Monday and Tuesday.

Ugh. Do not believe the glowing reviews. None of us locals understand how La Bricola manufactures these. The food is average at best. They have jammed way too many tables into a space with no sound baffles so you'll be shouting at your dinner companions, and may as well be having dinner with the strangers at the table next to you. Drinks are overpriced. Meal and salad portions are small, which is kind of a blessing given the poor quality of the food. It gets two stars for service. The servers try hard to accommodate while squeezing around tables and being scowled at by the manager.(who also scowls at patrons). Other Italian restaurants in town are much better.

My experience at Osteria La Briccola was nothing short of what I expected. The food was amazing, we had the best waitress and the food came out quick.

I have patronized this restaurant since they opened. I love the food. Waitstaff are also well trained and professional. I made reservations a month in advance for Easter to ensure getting a desired table in the bar area. We were a party of 3 but only 2 of us showed up. Although the restaurant had only one seated table they wanted to seat us in the most unwanted table in the restaurant, the window seat in the bar room that forces you to sit across from strangers. It's a very strange set up and a yet they continue to seat people there. Those not brave enough to complain sit silently and pay a lot of $$ to be uncomfortable. I was not silent. Anyway, it became this huge deal about where we were going to sit. The manager had an attitude that didn't help the situation. They finally sat us in the main empty dining room and the server asked if it was our first time there and I commented, "No, but it may be our last". The manager immediately came up to our table in an aggressive manner and demanded that I explain my comment. He made us so uncomfortable that I finally said,"let's get out of here". To which the manager responded with,"Good Riddance". I was stunned. This guy has got to go! Rude, aggressive and the last person you want representing your restaurant and reputation. Also, this isn't the first complaint about this manager being rude and obnoxious. Horrible customer service. I won't be back.

It's kind of a surprise finding such an amazing restaurant after what appears to be an old lobby elevator and suite doors, bit hang on, it's so worth it! The lasagna that everyone talks about is to die for and the gorgonzola walnut gnocchi are pillow bites of bliss.

Heard about Osteria La Briccola from a local and it sounded amazing. Made a reservation the night before for noon, right when they opened. We arrived (difficult to get there as you have to take the elevator to get to the second floor and it isn't labeled well). Ended up being the only customers there at the time. We looked around at all the photos of the owner with famous artists, politicians, and athletes (most of which we learned were taken at his other restaurant in LA. We ordered a green salad, which was delicious and light. The focaccia was incredibly fresh and we used some to get the last of the sauces on all our plates. The two pastas were amazing. All of their pastas are made fresh in-house. We had gnocchi with pesto, and it couldn't have been better. We also had pappardelle with what appeared to be a tomato sauce, but was actually much lighter. Still had a ton of flavor, and it was nice that it wasn't as heavy as I imagined a tomato sauce would be. Can't recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely be back.

When we planned our first glam girls dinner we knew we wanted to pick somewhere unique. Osteria La Briccola was the perfect pick! The vibe inside was perfect & the food was delicious!! We are gluten free but were not at all limited by their menu. I ordered the GF pasta with tomato basil sauce & my friend ordered a salad with chicken & we shared the most divine flourless chocolate cake. The portions are generous & the service is top notch. We will definitely go back!

We've been here twice! Everything was amazing! Fresh flavors and beautiful presentation!! I had the squid ink pasta with seafood! Wow!!! And fun craft cocktails!!! A favorite for a special night out!!

Chefs Kiss! This place is amazing. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was classy. I did feel super under dressed in my carhart work clothes as I had just gotten out of work and didn't have time to change. The wait staff was non-judgmental and we had an amazing dinner. This would be a great place for a romantic date night. Looking forward to coming back in some fancier attire. The food was top notch. I don't normally go for Italian, but so glad we did. I will definitely be back.

Came when they opened at 5 and got a table for two immediately! The restaurant is intimate and cozy, indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat in the second room that connects to the patio seating, and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing celebrity and chef pics along the wall. Our food was delicious (as pictured) and felt like the staff was very professional. The head honcho came over after our meal to check in on us, which we appreciated. I did feel like our waitress (won't mention her name) was a bit robot-like and a bit disingenuous. She didn't seem to love serving customers and just did what she had to do to get the job done. For the atmosphere of the restaurant, I was hoping for a bit more of an enthusiastic waiter or waitress. Overall, very tasty food experience and would likely return!

Lovely restaurant and a hidden gem! We ordered the carpaccio and burrata for appetizers. Both were delicious. Some of us are gluten free and found the gf pasta to be of good quality, and not your basic penne. Two of us ordered the boscaiola pasta and deemed it one of the best pasta dishes we've ever enjoyed. Kids loved the Italian sodas and the wine list featured several local wines. 100% would return!

Really great fresh homemade pasta, great sauces, went there for my birthday and going back for my wife's. Many other dishes looked and smelled wonderful but you can only partake in so much in an evening . Service was excellent.

We discovered a gem in Ashland on our road trip to Portland and fell in love with the food, ambience and the wines (local). I called in to make a reservation while driving to Ashland and was able to get it for an hour later. It was a little hard to spot as the restaurant is upstairs. Once we walked in and looked at the patio, we had to request patio seating, it was a beautiful evening. We loved the idea of being able to choose our pastas and the sauce combinations. Here's what we got: 1. New Zealand Lamb Chops (4/5) 2. Tagliatelle with Filletto de Pomodoro (5/5- the best pomodoro sauce I have ever tasted) 3. Gnocchi with Genovese Pesto (5/5) 4. Tagliatelle tossed with some butter and garlic topped with Parmesan (5/5 specially made for my younger one) The restaurant was doing a feature on Kriselle Cellars wine and it was really good. We'll have to drive through Ashland on our next road trip just to eat at Briccola.

Great food and cocktails. Large serving sizes, so the prices feel extra reasonable. Service was also great. Everyone that works there seems very cool, would be intimidating if they weren't so friendly. We sat outside, two people on a Sunday evening, didn't have a reservation but it was only a 15-20 minute wait for a table outside (and got to sit at the bar while we waited at a table). Good ambiance inside and outside.

The food here is fantastic. I highly recommend their pesto, it is amazing. Clearly the owner/chef is something special and it shows all the way through the dining experience. 5+ stars.

UNREAL! Wow. I guess I've never had authentic Italian until tonight. I'm at a loss of words to describe what exactly we experienced. Homemade, flavorful and authentic would sum up our dinner. The setting was fantastic, we sat at the bar and enjoyed conversation with the bartender and restaurant manager. We were amazed with the pictures of the chef and all the A list celebrities he's cooked for. Easily the best pasta we have ever had. The gnocchi was like biting into a cloud. We cannot return fast enough. GO!

We had a great meal at Osteria La Briccola. Both pasta dishes were very tasty but my squid ink pasta with shrimp and salami was especially good (better than many pasta dishes I've had in Italy). The caramelized flan was also joyful. Service was excellent and despite what some reviewers said the tables were spaced well and we did not feel crowded at all. We will definitely return here the next time we are in Ashland.

Love the ambience here. Dining room is broken up into two areas plus they have two open patios with umbrellas. They have a great wine list and offer customers to bring their own wine for a $25 corkage fee per bottle (2 bottle maximum). They also offer a cocktail menu and options for beer. The seasoned bread they serve is delicious which is served alongside olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I ordered the antipasti special: smoked duck leg with a slightly sweetened mustard...it was succulent and amazing! The picture taken does not do it justice. The Pappardelle Agnello e Pistacchi with perfectly cooked chunks of lamb was also superb. Highly recommend!

Excellent food and great service. We had the vegan gluten free pasta with a spicy tomato sauce and the pesto gnocchi. Both were well prepared and very flavorful. Portion sizes are reasonable without being overly large. The watermelon jalapeño mocktail was tasty and refreshing and the Chianti red wine was a nice pairing. Service was very attentive and thoughtful. My only wish would be the addition of a vegan pasta (usually spaghetti is a vegan safe bet but not here). Maybe next time. We will be back.

Ok guys,...I think I found my new favorite resturant in the Rogue Valley. Probably because I'm Italian and this is Italian food. Service was VERY GOOD, seating was a little crowded inside, but they have nice outside seating, weather permitting. Highly recommend. Bring a fat wallet. Well worth the price. We WILL be back!

We came without a reservation and were fortunate to be seated on their outdoor balcony. Friendly service and excellent Northern Italian Cuisine. My wife had a Barbera from a local Rhône Valley Vineyard. I had a Pinot Noir from the Dundee Hill area. They serve a generous 6 ounce pour. We started with the Burrata prosciutto and pumpkin shavings. My wife had a pasta that was listed with white and black pasta with shrimp and porcini mushrooms in a light white wine and cream sauce. She requested no squid pasta and the restaurant accommodated her. I had the lasagna. We were very happy with our meals and made it over to enjoy a show.

The environment of this upstairs restaurant was lovely. The food was absolutely amazing! The waiter was friendly and delightful.

Wonderful spot that surprises me with a fantastic bar and incredible menu selections. Ashland is lucky to have some really great restaurants over the years, but this places raises the bar in terms of ambiance and quality. I had the carpaccio to start and found it to be incredibly flavorful with a light truffle "fondue"... kind of like a foam but heavier. Can't recommend it enough!
