"Osteria La Civetta (“The Little Owl”) channels the cuisine of Emilia Romagna, the famous food region in Italy, into its location in Falmouth. Led by chefs Fabio Pozzati and Massimiliano Zarotti, the kitchen continues to impress after nearly 20 years in business with a simple, traditional Italian menu consisting of favorites such as tagliatelle Bolognese, spaghetti carbonara, grilled octopus, baked branzino, and dessert classics like stracciatella gelato. All pasta is handmade, and the charming, 80-seat dining room includes many elements imported from Italian flea markets over the years." - Anna Darrow

Great espresso. Direct from Italy. Can't get this taste of espresso anywhere. Have it in their Cremino drink with whip cream and chocolate. Heaven! The staff is superb.

Update 2024: excited to come back this summer again and it was delicious! Last year the olives in the salad were the same castlevetrano and this year they were not which was disappointing. I was also able to switch pasta for the pomodoro dish as I get sick of only spaghetti. The rigatoni was delish! My partner was so looking forward to their basil pesto dish again but unfortunately they switched it to a sun dried tomato pesto, which was delicious and creamy, but not as good as the basil pesto. Another couple nearby also said they were disappointed the basil pesto was not available as well. Please bring back! Also, please put some gliders on the outdoor chairs as the scraping across the stone floor on the patio was so annoying; the noise is overwhelming when it’s full of people out there. Oh and the affogato dessert was delish! Definitely get that - the espresso was so yummy!! 2023: Wonderful place and atmosphere. They make their own pasta in-house! Yay. I definitely only love to eat homemade fresh pasta, if feels better in my system and this place was delish. Their pesto was yummy as well. Oh and the olives they have are my favorite olives (just a funny coincidence). The only thing was that I thought the bread and olive oil was on the cheap side. Not the best in comparison to everything else. Sadly. The Rosso di Toscana wine 🍷 was absolutely lovely! Get a glass! Sitting outside was very nice but a little warm. Wish they had some oscillating fans above to help move sit around in the summer. Our server was wonderful as well. Very lovely. Can’t wait to go again next summer.

Lovely restaurant in downtown Falmouth. Tried the buratta and the bolognese. And finished with an interesting dessert special. The bolognese was tasty but could have used a larger portion. Great serf

Osteria La civetta is such a gem! I have been four times and the food is always amazing! The ambiance is romantic and quaint. We went last night on the Fourth of July and were able to sit on their patio, which is beautiful. Last night I got their ricca salad, which was delicious. I also really enjoy their homemade pasta, which I got the night before. They had a special that came with lobster meat. Their wine selection is great. They have a wine from Puglia that I really enjoy. If I get dessert, I usually order the affogato. Last night, they brought my husband and I limoncello at the end of our meal. I highly recommend dining here if you’re looking for an amazing Italian meal.

My wife and I have been finding ways to dine at Osteria La Civetta for almost a decade. We live on the Vineyard, so dining in Falmouth often has been adjusted for ferry schedules. We also have ordered trays of what we think is the best Lasagna in the US, giving us a taste of La Civetta for weeks at home. It is a sign of our realized expectations for La Civetta that we have made it a date for an excursion and a rendezvous for meeting friends from off island. Osteria La Civetta is excellent; don't miss it.

All the staff deliver a truly outstanding experience all around. From the service to the food, to the understated elegance of the decor, it's a restaurant for all occasions for families, friends, first dates and old lovers, and anyone who appreciates old world hospitality.

Ate here over memorial day weekend and perhaps the kitchen is just not up to speed yet.. But that doesn't excuse the portion size ,and pricing. The $22 burrata appetizer last summer was a generous whole burrata with lots of marinated cherry tomatoes on a bed of arugula...this year the burrata was a third of the size the pesto on the dish was brown and unappetizing, and the cherry tomatoes were quite flavor less, and the prosciutto with the dish was too thickly cut. The arugala was fine, but really, can you mess up arugala. Two of the pasta dishes, the Bolognese and the pasta pomodoro, were exceedingly small, just a few bites. The spring vegetable ragout pasta was so overspiced with red perrer flakes that it was practically inedible. in addition the cheese promised on the menu was nowhere to be found in the dish. The service was poor overall. The drinks took a very long time and were warm. the waitress was dismissive and not very available. She never showed up with the promised parmesan for the pasta dishes. I don't write many reviews but I felt this experience warranted one.

Lovely ambiance, our waiter Jordan was great. Jordan was knowledgeable about the menu and helped us with our choices. We were not disappointed. The five of us shared the Taglier for an appetizer. It was just enough to get us started. We all enjoyed our meal.

Yelp
We had a guest from Boston staying with us and wanted to eat lunch in or near Falmouth MA. We remembered dining at an Italian restaurant in Falmouth, but couldn't remember the name. Once we got to Osteria La Civetta, we knew that was the restaurant we had previously visited. Our waitress was very attentive and brought us wonderful Focaccia with olive oil. The three of us each ordered something different, with two of us getting salads as starters. The Autunno salad was fabulous with the Arugula and other greens very fresh. Great taste with sun dried tomatoes and fresh orange slices. We each got different pasta entrees: Pomodoro, Tagliatelle, and Cacio e Pepe. All three entrees were perfect with each pasta cooked al dente. My Tagliatelle was served with a very nice Bolognese sauce. I'm glad we found Osteria La Civetta again.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Falmouth. Authentic Italian and delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and accommodating.

Yelp
This local restaurant in Falmouth seems very popular.we have eaten nearby a few times and the menu seemed good for our needs. It is a very quaint Italian decor to go with the menu. The owl wall art plays right into it name. Civetta is an owl and they had collected and framed many styles. We started with the summer salad, watercress, arugula, shaved Piave cheese, butter and lemon croutons, pickled summer squash, watermelon radish and tiny little sunflower seeds. These were far fresher and tastier than any others I have had. It had a nice simple salad dressing. Unfortunately my only complaint about the meal was that the bread entirely too plain and dry. Not toasted enough to enrich and yet not soft and fresh. My husband had the grilled octopus and he dared me attentive. The charring was good and gave it a better crisp bite. Served with cherry tomatoes and small toasted potatoes, also very good. I had the tagliolini ribbon pasta. With lobster and shrimp and a very light sauce of crushed roasted cherry tomatoes which went well together. There was enough lobster to remain the dominant flavor but the shrimp made it a mor affordable meatiness to it. I had the baci (chocolate and chopped hazelnut ) gelato and my husband had the stracciatella (Chocolate chip) gelato. We had some Prosecco with our meal, my husband the white and I had a sort of sweet pear rosé type. Our waiter was genuinely friendly and helpful and staff was well distributed through the room. It seems a lot of locals come as so many seemed well acquainted with staff.

Holly S.

Yelp
We always have amazing food and a wonderful experience here. We love the ambience. It's a bit romantic and so quaint. The staff are all really friendly and even made special suggestions for my children.

Julia M.

Yelp
My family LOVED our food here. Honestly zero critiques from any of us. My pasta was so fresh and light, yet flavorful. However the service was very lackluster. It looked like there was one server for the 3 tables in the room, and he moved as slow as molasses. We had to ask the busboy for water as our server forgot. Despite the slow service we are excited to come back!

Richard M.

Yelp
Do you like beer? Then you'll like this place. They also have an outdoor food pavilion as well.

Ron W.

Yelp
Fantastic fresh homemade Italian food. I had the Puttanesca and it was delicious. Limited menu is a very good sign, everything is homemade and made to order.

Shannon S.

Yelp
I strongly recommend Osteria La Civetta in Falmouth. The food is freshly made every day and the service is fantastic! The atmosphere is wonderful. Always a joy to relax for a beautiful dinner there.

Chalon M.

Yelp
This was the best meal we've had in a long time! The food, ambiance, service, and presentation were all top notch. Highly recommend!

Sarah C.

Yelp
Review for take out. On top of the overpriced dishes, a service fee was added to the bill. Spaghetti Pomodoro (pasta with tomato sauce) should not be $20. It screamed sad all over when I opened the box. Order seemed like to be off the kid's menu because I finished the order in four bites? Tagliolini with lobster meat (three small pieces?) was on the dry side. At least the dish came with a little more pasta. Staff who attended my order was nice and gave me fresh warm bread - good thing for the extra carbs because I was still hungry afterwards. The restaurant looks cute inside

Sarah R.

Yelp
No idea why this place does not have more stars. The food is simply amazing. We go every year, making a reservation and asking for the lasagna special to be set aside for us because we love it so much. Nice cozy ambiance. Service has always been friendly and priced to match the area and quality of food. Very authentic, not to be missed!

stephen r.

Yelp
I'm going to be wondering about the 4 star rating for this restaurant. Upon arrival we were not welcomed by the hostess only until a server pointed out the hostess. Who then proceeded to sit us at a table for one and myself and lady friend asked for a larger table and was told people love this table. Well I don't want to question a person that " The customer is paying you not the reverse. Unprofessional with attitude. The angry looks from one server was typical unprofessional service. Food was good but not 5 Star and the dessert was tasteless. I can say the coffee was delicious

Jake W.

Yelp
Friday night special - Lasagna! Amazing! Highly recommend. You can only get it Friday. Definitely worth it.

Lauren S.

Yelp
We live in the area and have been meaning to try this place forever. It certainly surpassed our expectations and we were thrilled by our meal. We split each course and they were nice enough to separate the dish for us on two separate plates. The caprese was so fresh and the pasta was out of this world amazingly good. Cute atmosphere. Our only critique is that our waitress seemed less than thrilled to be there. Everyone else we interacted with was very nice and welcoming.

Stephanie G.

Yelp
An excellent meal at Osteria La Civetta. Each course we had was outstanding, and they very kindly split each course in two so my husband and I could share (and experience) each course. We had the salmon salad which featured gravlax, avocado, arugula, mesclun greens, and celery -- a perfect mix of bitter, salty, and creamy; tortellini filled with butternut squash with a sage butter sauce -- yummy pillows of squash swimming in a butter sauce livened up by fresh sage; the cod loin with a flavorful accompaniment of tomatoes, capers, olives, and kale; and topped the meal off with a vanilla panne cotta with a strawberry coulis -- beautiful. The service was outstanding and the outdoor patio was perfect on a summer evening. They also had a small but lovely wine selection. Perfect even with COVID precautions in place.

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
Always great and such a lovely space we have been going for years. Charming inside and out--we love the outdoor space under the pergola.

Mike D.

Yelp
Started off with 2 glasses of wine that were served in wine glasses that looked like they came from Ocean State Job Lot. The meat and cheese board was excellent Waitress needs to find a new career, took our order and we didn't see her again until she bought our bill The food is mediocre and the portions are miniscule, my Bolognese was literally 6 fork full of pasta. Save you money and go across the street to the Quarterdeck or next door to Estia.

Monica B.

Yelp
One of the most romantic restaurants in Falmouth,Cape Cod .I loved the atmosphere and the food.Definitely European size entrees ,fresh bread and a nice selection of wine. We went as a family of 4 and we felt cramped at the table .The party next to us was very loud and we could barely hear our waitress.

Yelp
The location and ambience of this spot made this a restaurant that for years we enjoyed. The food was always hit or miss, some things being delectable, and others inedible, as was there unpredictable service, but we went back for the memories. It has taken me a long time to decide to write this review. I don't, usually, but the way we were treated was so appalling, our last visit, it has left scars. Members of our multigenerational party have special needs. The matriarch of our family is protective of that fact, and made a request for a table less crowded by others. This request was met with an attitude by the hostess, and the server that night also was unpleasant. One entree came out uncooked, and there wasn't an immediate unprompted offer to fix it. Because of this unwelcoming and inedible experience, we chose to pay (leaving still a 20% tip) and leave, but our disappointment in our treatment was mentioned. On the street, on the way to our car, the owner came out and for at least five minutes assaulted us. There was a small child present, an elderly person, and they didn't apologize for the uncooked food, or thank us for still rewarding the service in the tip, they just screamed at us, telling us never to come back, for the fact that we had complained about not being treated kindly. I understand fully how hard this life can be, for all of us. We all struggle with the traumas and hardships we encounter, in ways that make it possible for us to live. I have heard how the pandemic has impacted restaurants, and I am aware that some people can be unkind, as a life practice, bringing that unkind energy into the restaurants they frequent. I feel sad that servers and staff have to encounter that regular mistreatment. But that isn't us. We were repeat customers, we were trying to delicately address where things hadn't worked that night, and to be so publicly abused is something I have otherwise never experienced. I was shocked that night and shocked still, and I simply cannot go another moment without warning others. This may be a popular spot, it is in a great location, and sometimes the food and service was excellent, but there is no excuse for abuse. There simply isn't. As much as restaurants deserve to be treated well, so do diners. And diners shouldn't have to pay to sit silently and not speak out when a dining experience isn't pleasant. I feel great sadness in my heart about that night. And it will impact my family forever. Although I know these words are only our experience, I had to say what I couldn't, in shock, that night. We deserved better treatment.

Yelp
5 STARS for the decor! This place drips in all things I love on a Saturday evening for dinner. The vibe is great, the scene - probably one of the best in the area if you are trying to get out and be in a lively yet simultaneously calming, but still energetic environment. What fell a bit flat was the food if I have to be completely honest. I ordered the PAPPARDELLE AI FUNGHI with truffle zest and my boyfriend TAGLIATELLE. We both felt equally the same about the food. It was ok, but nothing out of this world, a tab bit blah and lacking in flavor all things considered. I chose Osteria La Civetta for the carbs! I was running a marathon the next morning and felt this would be a great option and it really is. If you are out with the girls, fam, a date or even solo this is an excellent option on Main Street. When we arrived a bit late due to getting caught in our first Nor'easter driving in, and I overheard a bit of sass as to if they'd still seat us. I completely disregarded it and we were told they would. I could have done without that but once we were in the bar, service was immediate and my drink order was taken, followed by our table being ready within minutes. Service was great and I'd return in the future if I wanted to dine out in the area.

S. E.

Yelp
They were kind enough to seat us even without a reservation. This place gets busy and I can appreciate restaurants that are flexible when planning ahead isn't always possible. The atmosphere in the back of the restaurant is very charming and intimate. You feel like you're someplace special and not just in a huge open seating area like so many places. We ordered the sliced meats app, and the Caprese salad. The charcuterie was amazing! The meats and cheeses melt in your mouth. Highly recommend! The lasagna is their signature and it's only served on Fridays and Saturdays in which they do run out. It as a perfect balance of ingredients and hits the spot of indulging. The carbonara was really good as well and your can't really go wrong with Carbonara. I would get the lasagna next time for sure!

Pippin H.

Yelp
Delicious pesto! Delicious pasta! The perfect spot for a glass of wine and a leisurely dinner. The wait staff was attentive but not obsequious. The vibe is versatile. This was my second visit. They know what they're doing and I look forward to visiting again soon!

Kasey D.

Yelp
Great ambiance, food, and the service is always a treat. If you are looking for a romantic date or girls night this is the perfect spot.

Mary M.

Yelp
Came for dinner and wasn't impressed with the menu. Not a lot of options. My chicken was dry but the rest was good. Waitress was not friendly and the prices were high. Not worth it

Jim H.

Yelp
The portions are very small, the prices are very high, but on the flip-side everything was delicious and the service was okay. So, if you're an okay-service, high-prices, great-food-in-small-portions kind of diner, this place is for you!

Doug L.

Yelp
Even by Cape Cod restaurant standards, which are mediocre at best, the food is terrible.

Karen C.

Yelp
I look forward to coming here each summer for the BEST carbonara! No picture because we dove- in and ate it all! The atmosphere is intimate and cozy, the staff is friendly and the olive plate with gorgonzola mousse, the Salad Rikki and the homemade bread dipped in olive oil and pepper is worth every bite!

Timothy H.

Yelp
Incredible food at what feels like a hidden gem. Fresh pasta with much more variety than your standard red-and-white-sauce establishment. First off, the two (minor) issues that kept us from giving five stars: first, the tortellini were fairly undercooked. Second, the food translates very poorly to takeout (which is more the fault of COVID than anything else); the texture of the pasta suffered a lot. Tortelloni - 4/5: the flavor was excellent. Butter and sage are always a great combo, and also paired well with the butternut squash. Rich and sweet without being too heavy. Seafood carbonara - 4/5: again, excellent flavor. The seafood was an interesting addition; not sure we liked it more than guanciale, but hey, it's Cape Cod. The sauce was a beautiful yolky yellow and wasn't runny at all; however, it didn't do well in the takeout container after cooling. Spring salad - 5/5: very nice salad. The peas had a great bite and tasted very fresh. The radicchio added a nice crunch. Good blend of textures-- basically your ideal salad.

Matt E.

Yelp
Despite its relatively high prices, the food and service here were excellent at this slightly off-thoroughfare eatery. What was most impressive to both of us were its pasta offerings -- fresh and authentic, ostensibly by a chef from Bologna; mine, a wonderfully rich Bolognese. The servings were not generous, but adequate to allow us room and choices among a range of tasty desserts. With an appetizer and bottle of wine, plan on at least $80 per person.

Betty C.

Yelp
Booked reservation. Ran late. Just made 20 min window. Waited for hostess for a few min. They'd already given table away. Oh well. Why 1 star? Hostess went out of her way to tell us it was our fault. We weren't challenging her so not sure why we had to be lectured by teenager? Won't be back.

George G.

Yelp
Great food. Great ambiance. Personally, i do not find the staff to be overly friendly

Debra W.

Yelp
The North End comes to the Cape in this hidden jewel. The homie atmosphere, it is like you have come to Nonna's for Sunday Dinner. Pre COVID I had been going to the North End for years and had many a carbonara and this by far has been the best one I have eaten. Staff is super friendly and helpful, if you eat inside COVID safe. If you are in Falmouth and craving authentic homie Italian this is the place to go.

Stephanie Q.

Yelp
I was walking along Main Street and spotted this cute Italian place. Good thing I had already made reservations thanks to Yelp. It was freezing outside, but I was welcomed into this cozy warm restaurant. Out came a a basket of warm fresh bread. I love good bread with olive oil. For my main course, I had the rigatoni. The portion size was just right, it wasn't too big, and not too small. As much as I love the huge portion sizes that they have in the North End, I don't have self control and will keep eating. I must lack a gene for fullness. Anyways, the rigatoni came with deep fried egg plant, pecorino cheese and chili pepper. It had just the right amount of spiciness to it, a nice tiny kick. If you are looking for a cozy Italiano place or a good spot for date night, go to Osteria La Civetta!

Susanq C.

Yelp
Had a fabulous meal last nite. The pesto and pasta are home made and excellent...... Accompanied by a crispy glass of Chardonnay.

Whitney M.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant in downtown Falmouth! We we sat outside on their patio which was lovely. It me intimate and cozy (but appropriately socially distanced due to COVID19) with a beautiful ivy covered wall. We got some incredible cocktails (the lemon lavender and limoncello) and both were amazing without being too strong. We started with the burrata which was creamy and delightful, served with amazing prosciutto flowers that balanced the dish very well by adding some saltiness. My husband got the lobster risotto which had a good sized portion of lobster and he said it was perfectly cooked. I had the tortelloni in a sage butter sauce which was heavenly and perfectly portioned. A must stop for a Cape Cod date night!

Felipe D.

Yelp
Me and my wife went tonight place is nice but the service was awful which I understand I own a restaurant myself so I get it nowadays most restaurants are understaffed but IF , IF the food was good that would be their saving Grace there's no reason to charge $30 which costs Pennie's to make for 7 yes 7 pieces of ravioli stuffed with cod that didn't taste good my wife ordered the butternut squash ravioli which was under seasoned oh did I say we waited 30 minutes before they took our order ? I can only imagine what the wait is like in the summer during peak time avoid this place like Covid-19 I wish I had gone to Mcdonalds down the street instead .

Peggy G.

Yelp
The atmosphere is wonderful and the food was good except for the bread. The bread they brought out before our meal was stale and the bread that was serves with our appetizer was stale... If I could give a 3.5 I would have!

Emma S.

Yelp
One of my favorite places of all time! I wish I could eat here everyday and can't wait to go back to falmouth to come here! The pastas are the perfect size and had tons of the seafood in them. The burrata and tomatoes are so fresh and delicious. Great wine selection as well. The interior of the restaurant looks like something out of an Italian bistro.

Stephen H.

Yelp
It was verrrry over priced and my portion was small. Their wine selection was limited and again, over priced. I'm local and there are better places than here. I won't be going back!!!

Sarah T.

Yelp
I've eaten here twice now, and can say what keeps me coming back is the delicious house-made pasta - pick pretty much any pasta dish and you won't have made a mistake. Knocking a star for a few things though - one, look out for waitstaff upselling without telling you, which I found to be a little sneaky. Yes, I know this happens at all places, but it seemed particularly pervasive here. We were asked if we'd like drinks, we said just water. Waiter asked, "still or sparkling?" And we ended up getting charged $6 per bottle of still. It would have been nice to have been given tap as an option, since if we'd known we'd be paying for water, we would have clarified. They open the bottle away from the table so it seems as if it might be tap. We were already happy to spend a significant amount of money here, and it just seemed low to try to gouge us for a few extra dollars. Secondly, on our second visit in, it was a cold, windy night, and staff left the door wide open the entire time so that a noticeably cold breeze came through while we were eating, which was pretty uncomfortable. We weren't even seated near the door and could feel it. Lastly, as a few others have mentioned, despite high prices, portions are small. Order more than you think you should if you're hungry. Overall, would say that food is delicious and top notch here, but despite the high quality, service and atmosphere will feel mediocre at best. Another reviewer mentioned that this place is consistently half full, and I can only imagine some of these points are part of the reason.

Yelp
I found this place on Yelp, it had four stars, and it was Italian which my husband and I like. Crystal we got there the outside world Soso. But when we got inside it was a quaint rustic decor, nice a group of people. Our waiter was excellent, very accommodating never pushy. We had the meat and cheese platter for appetizers, it was huge, could've had just that for the meal. Then we had the fried calamari and I have salad. Both were delicious. We split The pasta dish with the sausage and beef Bolognese sauce, again excellent! And we ended our meal with the dessert, can't remember the name but it was a croissant with pistachio ice cream, and Nutella syrup, and I think it was sprinkled with almonds. I would definitely recommend this place and go there again.

Moni K.

Yelp
Still amazing food. I had the freshest clams and my husband had lobster roll and we split a bottle of wine. This restaurant is another favorite of mine. I love the outdoor sitting, the service and the amazing food. Its always busy on the weekends. I had a gentleman sitting behind me ask during lunch for their famous lasagna. He said he will be back in the evening with his wife its that good!

jackie s.

Yelp
Loved it The best ever in my estimation I felt like I was in Sienna enjoying quality food and friendly neighbors I will rave about it to family and friends You got my attention big time! I had the tortellini with butternut squash and a side of spinach My husband had the lasagna Both dishes were wonderful It is a must on your bucket list There is ample parking across the street in a big parking lot Satisfied customer Jackie S

Yelp
This might be the best all around restaurant experience I've had in Falmouth in the many years I've been coming here. It's a refreshing departure from all of the overcrowded touristy spots. From the service to the ambiance to the food, everything was perfection. Very authentic Italian fare, fresh ingredients and beautifully plated. I had the salmon with squid ink sauce which was delicious. My son had the carbonara--just the right amount. The patio is beautiful, with plenty of heat lamps. Just perfection, we'll definitely be back.

Liz E.

Yelp
This restaurant COULD be a nice place to get dinner, but they need to work on a few things. My parents made a reservation and we got a table by the window, which was beautiful. When I sat in my seat, however, I could see a dead fly and ants crawling all over the window next to my seat. This should not be happening in any restaurant let alone one that serves a sit-down meal. They need to clean up before they open each day. Get out a vacuum and lose the bugs. Secondly, they brought out bread for our table, which was classic Italian loaf bread. It was served without butter or dipping oil, just dry bread. We ordered bruschetta for an appetizer, which comes with just two pieces for $8, so we needed to orders for our party of four. When the bruschetta came out it was so disappointing. It was just slices of that bread loaf soaked with olive oil and covered with tomatoes and basil. This is like the "bruschetta" I used to make with Wonder bread when I was kid playing restaurant with my cousins, not what I expect from an Italian restaurant. Next, the waitstaff was just SO weird. They were nice enough, but really awkward. I don't like to complain about waitstaff often, but this was just part of the overall unpleasant vibe. We had to move things around on the table every time someone put a plate on our table. As if we had put things in the wrong spot and were unaware of some kind of table setting rules. When we ordered our food, my mother got the ravioli dish and was asked which sauce she would like and the waitress recommended the bolognese meat sauce over the sage and butter. When the dish came out, it was awful! The sauce- delicious, just like the waitress said, but it should never have been recommended to go on top of PUMPKIN FILLED raviolis, which were also delicious. It was a disgusting combination of flavors. Why was this even an option and how could anyone make such a recommendation? This shouldn't even be an option. I got the carbonara pasta, which was just okay. I have had much better, but this wasn't the worst by far. I had to use the restroom while I was there. The location is really weird. It's right outside the kitchen, so any food served in the restaurant first passes through a line of customers awkwardly looking for an appropriate place to wait. The bathrooms were clean, but the ladies room reeked like a wet mop! It appeared immaculate, but smelled filthy. The restaurant should have a fan going and clean that room with a clean mop/sponge or something other than what they currently use. This place has potential, but for us it was a disappointment. The decor and the arrangements of tables was really nice. The manager/owner (I'm assuming) was friendly. The location is convenient, but the dining experience and food quality did not align with the price at all.

Yelp
Authentic Italian cuisine! I don't know why it took me so long to dine at OLC, but I will be going back often. The atmosphere and food is truly right out of Italy and made me feel like we were on vacation there. An absolute treat since we love visiting Italy. Here are my pros: -Our party of 6 was greeted promptly at the door by the hostess who sat us and then took the time to explain that the chef is from northern Italy and only creates authentic Italian dishes (which immediately got me excited). -Our waitperson, Lana, was quick to arrive and was quite nice and attentive. She was very familiar with the chef and the menu which helped us make our choices. -The interior design was right out of a restaurant in Italy which made us feel like we were on vacation in that country (dim lighting, old furniture, dishes displayed on the walls, etc). -I learned to cook Spaghetti Carbonara from a native Italian and had yet to find an American restaurant that can make it correctly - until tonight. Gracia!! -Pasta made in-house and was fantastic. -All the desserts were DE-licious! Profiterole and Salame di Cioccolato. Here are my cons: -Very dim lighting and noticed cobwebs on the floor lamp (top & bottom). -Apparently, the chef is from Bologna but the dishes with Bolognese sauce were not as tasty as I would have anticipated. -The bruschetta was only 2 small pieces and not that tasty. -The Tagliere appetizer (Meats & Cheeses) was true to an Italian restaurant, but didn't include anything (bread) to spread the Burata on and included honey simply dizzled on the serving board but as we passed it to one another, our hands became sticky.

Yelp
Our absolute favorite restaurant for a fine dining experience in Falmouth!!! THE best cheese platter ever...the freshly sliced Italian meats and super cheeses along with fig jam, walnuts and honey along with gardanaire are to die for and more than enough for 3 to 4 people! The pasta...house made...is super! Lasagna to die for!!!! Great service...felt very safe eating inside and return every single year!!!!

Yelp
Love this place! Been twice now and both times were great. We went last night and had a delicious dinner, at a table outside in the front - such a nice spot right on Main Street! There's also a really cute patio with outdoor seating on the side. The food was really good - and I'm picky with my Italian food! We split the scallop appetizer (sous vide scallops with a cucumber, tomato, and fennel salad), which was fresh and well seasoned. For entrees, I had the lasagna verde special (spinach lasagna with bolognese and parmesan bechamel) and fiancè had the carbonara. Both dishes were super flavorful! The bolognese sauce especially was really really good. And the portions were satisfying without being too much. The only complaint was the use of bucatini instead of spaghetti, which seems to be common based on other reviews and is pretty weird. I think a lot of people don't like bucatini as much. Finished the meal with some limoncello and - one of the world's best inventions- a "nutellino"! A nutellino is a cappuccino made in a Nutella-lined mug and it is GLORIOUS. There are a lot of reviews saying the service is poor, but we've had a good experience both times. Our server last night was really nice and attentive, and the food came out quickly. This place is quickly becoming a Cape Cod go-to for us - we're already looking forward to coming back for dinner during our next Falmouth trip!
