Osteria le Logge

"Having retained its old shop counter and glass - fronted display cabinets, this former grocer’s shop is perfect for anyone in search of old - world charm. However, the cuisine is the real draw with its focus on quality of the highest level. Wine buffs can ask to visit the wine cellar nearby, housed in a tunnel of Etruscan origin. Simpler dining room on the first floor." - Michelin Inspector

"Inspiring Food Close to the Campo One of the best places to eat in Siena lies a few minutes’ walk from historic Piazza del Campo and inhabits an atmospheric room lined with old glass and wood cabinets full of books and wine bottles. It may be informal, but the gourmet food is top notch: Malfatti (spinach-and-ricotta gnocchi) dressed with a fresh tomato sauce, veal cheek served with stuffed porcini mushrooms and blackberries, and the brilliant wine list are all inspiring."

Google
Our favorite restaurant in Siena! Everything in the menu is fantastic! We sat inside and also outside in the street. Loved the service and the wine!

Google
The food is excellent, we enjoyed everything we had. The staff was attentive and friendly. The complaint would be €23 for two pieces of asparagus as a starter and the pasta dish sizes are extremely small, by anyone's account. The portions are simply not worth the money with so many amazing options in the area. Opinions may vary on the portion size of pasta, but everyone can agree an asparagus started for over €20 to include only 2 pieces of asparagus is quite ridiculous.

Google
Good restaurant with variety of good local vine on any taste and money😉 The food is amazing and very delicious. Beef cheeks were unforgettable delicious. Portions correspond to portions of good restaurants ( not so big😎). Service is on a high level, atmosphere is friendly and the kitchen is open, if you want to verify the process. Toilets are clean.

One warm Tuscan night, we ended up here and had an excellent meal! Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We were seated us right by the window to the street, and as the evening progressed, the restaurant packed out, and we understood why! The food was excellent and fresh, and we all enjoyed what we ate. The bistecca was cooked perfectly for my taste, the wine list was exhaustive, and the deserts were delicious! It's on the pricey side, but if you can afford the price, it's worth it! Excellent Italian hospitality!

Google
Totally recommended with an outstanding wine list! Wide selection from surf to turf with traditional Tuscan…it’s a restaurant, not an osteria 😅

Google
Expensive place with extremely average food. We took the pastas and it could’ve been a meal I heated in the microwave. Complimentary bread was served which was really delicious, we asked for oil and balsamic to complement it, in which the waiter sneered at us “we have balsamic, but we won’t serve it to you, because it’ll cut your taste” then bought the balsamic out 15 mins later for a salad we ordered 🤣 give me strength… treat us like we are paying for the food, not the other way round

Google
One of my favourite restaurants of all time. Always amazing service, the food is perfect and the wine list is one of the best ever if you want to drink local wines. A true gem, not to be missed. Check out their piano bar down the road too…

Google
The service was quite horrible and felt spoilt. The lady rolled her eyes when she realized we were 15 minutes late even after the apology which was weird. Never happened to me before.

Yelp
By far, our best dinner in Siena out of 4 nights. Beautiful setting outside. The bartender comes over from the adorable bar across the alley to offer you a cocktail. What arrives is a creative and beautiful version of something familiar but somehow new, which is a JOY to imbibe. The service is impeccable and the food is divine. Tastes like your Italian grandmother slaved over it all day in the kitchen, but with an elevated vibe. No other restaurant that we tried in Siena came close. Wish I had time to go back here again but it was our last night. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Shocked by all the good reviews. This food was very bland compared to all the other food we tried Italy. Also, minuscule portions sizes and hugely overpriced. Very disappointed and wish we had made a different reservation

Yelp
Popped in during my first stroll through Siena. Needed a Florentine steak. The staff fit me in without a reservation. The steak was HUGE, and perfectly seasoned and grilled. I took no sides or bread... I knew what I was getting into. It was a real bullfight. I won... Barely.

Yelp
Incredible service, fantastic food, excellent wine selection. Staff was friendly and did an excellent job pairing food and wine.

Yelp
Every time we come to Tuscany my first trip is to Siena and my first lunch or dinner is at Le Logge. Mirko and his team are fantastic and are like family. The food is always top notch and the wine list May be the best I have ever experienced in Tuscany. If you lucky, The wine cellar is a must see. We always sit in the street and people watch as we are enjoying a old world Brunello or Borolo. There is some magic that happens when you mix great wine, amazing service, fantastic food and a location out of a travel magazine. Truly magic. This is a must if you are in Siena and want the best restaurant choice for lunch or dinner. Thanks Le Loggia.

Yelp
What a find!!! The co owner, Merco, is a gem. We ate inside as it was a bit cooler outside (eating outside would only enhanced the experience). The service was exceptional and the food amazing. Cozy environment and the cocktails are hand made at a little bar across the street. Even the presentation of those is a treat. The icing in the cake is the TWELVE THOUSAND BOTTLE WINE CELLAR they have hidden down the street. If you are fortunate enough to get a tour GO!!! It winds 80 meters below the street as part of the original underground tunnel system from the Middle Ages. That your alone, made my our trip. It's stunning. No other words describe it. Keep up the great work paisan!

Yelp
Short version: Very basic tourist trap. Long version. Before choosing our food we had two glasses of wine. When we choose our food the glasses were almost empty. Our glasses were empty for an hour. Nobody asked if we wanted another drink. I asked if I should order a side with the steak. I was told: 'No it comes with some things. And you can always order a side later.' After the food was put on the table, I never saw a waiter again. The taste of the food was just OK. Sure not bad, but standard food you will forget immediately. I paid 20 Euro for my steak so that was too bad. They do have wifi and for local standards, good toilets.

Yelp
As far as restaurants in Siena go with 5 star service and excellent food, this is one of those gems. We enjoyed the central location without the extremely touristy scene of the main piazza. Our server Cyrille was spot on, from start to finish. He also speaks perfect English so there are no issues with ordering. He answered all of our many questions with grace and clearly takes a lot of pride in his work. The menu is not vast, but all high quality, high end and delicious. They have a Phenomenal wine selection, even for Italy. We had such a good time. Highly recommend if you make your way over to this beautiful medieval town.

Yelp
This place is definitely worth the splurge. My boyfriend and I had some of the best steak we've ever had here. Definitely make a reservation though, as spots fill up quickly. We ordered a couple of appetizers and picci to share. The highlight, though, was the steak we had. It was super tender and flavorful. The service was also very attentive, and we were able to sit outside since it was a nice evening. Pricey but come here if you want to treat yourself!

Yelp
We were lucky to walk in and be seated...beautiful setting, little bit more formal than our usual spots, but not over the top. Great Tuscan cuisine. Food was great, tuna starter exceptional. Ca'Del Bosco Annamaria Clementi 2004 was what made my evening! Beautiful bubbles, great body and minerality! Castello di Fonterutoli Chianti Classico 1998 went very well with the Bistecca...

Yelp
This is our go-to restaurant when we are in Tuscany, located only a few meters away from the famous Piazza Del Campo. The setting is very unique -an old bookstore - it gives the experience a pretty romantic/intimate touch (we always love to sit inside, far from the crowd of the street). Here, you'll eat premium tuscan dishes with a twist. The stuffed zucchini flower as a starter was a bomb. A few years ago, I had the vitello tonnato...very different from what I've had seen/tasted before...I would say the best way to describe Le Logge is : classic but unboring ! Clearly give it a try if you're here. People are very kind and remember us every time we come here, and that's always a great sign.

Yelp
Solid delicious meal with great service and ambiance. Was in Siena with locals that know this restaurant...apparently been here for 40 years. Tagliatelle with beef ragu was my favorite.

Yelp
This was a crazy good meal for us. The pigeon was out of this world. It was in some kind of beet reduction and introduced me to flavors I didn't know existed. The pastas were simple, beautiful and amazing. Also the waiter did a great job understanding what we were looking for, taking us through the options, and then making spot on recommendations. Also don't miss the local artisanal beer. Must go.

Yelp
Delicioso!!! Motto bene!! Amazing meal in Siena. Definitely upscale as a menu but a cafe feel restaurant. It's just off the main square on this beautifully old street. The inside walls are covered with paintings and old trinkets. The front windows open up on the street. Very gorgeous. For food, the zucchini tempura dish (zucchini blooms) were amazing. The veal appetizer was delicious as well. I even tried beef tartar. Everything tasted amazingly fresh. The snails appetizer was the only one I wasn't thrilled about. It's far from classic French escargo, so be wary. As for mains, the spicy penne pasta was amazing! I can't remember what anyone else got because my meal was so good. We drank an amazing Rose and the more rowdy members of the group tried the grappa and limoncello!

Yelp
We enjoyed our dinner at Osteria Le Logge so much we came back for lunch the next day. Everything was fabulous from the food to the wine, and service. This is not a tourist trap (I mean it's Siena and tourists are everywhere) but there were more locals dining in than tourists which is always telling. It's restaurant to savor, not rush through a meal, so the waiters don't hover but the service was impeccable. Mirko the manager was great too. Some of the best meals I've ever had in Italy and that's saying a lot. The atmosphere is lovely as well. The first meal, we ate upstairs, which was intimate and charming. For lunch the next day we ate in the main dining room. Both are wonderful spots. I can't praise the place enough.

Yelp
Micro and the whole staff at Le Logge are unbelievable, the atmosphere is fantastic and the food is spectacular!

Yelp
This place had a wonderful outdoor table which we thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately the service was slow even though they were not that busy. The food was okay but not very special and the exact same wines near Greve were 40 % more at Le Logge They do have many good wines but in general this place is overpriced for the quality of the experience. I have no interest in returning.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Airbnb host recommended. Slow service. Server didn't speak to us...at all. Tuscan stew is delicious. Pizza with salciccia was awful. The first time I've ever not finished a pizza in Italy. Crust was raw in the middle. Pear salad with arugula and pecorino was tasty and enough for two. House red was good and inexpensive. Would not return or recommend to anyone.

Yelp
I can't understand why people can give one star to this place. You are coming in August during Palio and you expect perfection in service, food and everything? Come on!! This is not by accident one of the top spots for locals. Still I will stay only in 3 stars cause I have to judge according to my experience. Service was great but really slow. I got their signature spaghetti with bacon but I didn't get crazy. Especially because it was their signature. But Bistecca Fiorentina was top of the tops!! I don't know what we got for dessert! A kind of fruit, creme, biscuit combination in a soup plate. But it was unique! Add the large selection of wines. And yes. It's not cheap

amy b.

Yelp
A local favorite, and a wonderfully lucky find for a tourist! Impeccable service, exciting artichoke appetizer, delicious pastas and an exciting pigeon entree which I would have bet money was actually a steak! This was not cheap (100 euro including wine) for two but really special meal and would go back in a heart beat.

Yelp
We chose this place based on yelp reviews but it was a big mistake. What we had was extremely over priced and basically tasteless. I've has many meals in Italy 10 times better at half the price. We started with zucchini flowers deep fried and stuffed with ricotta. Nothing special and have had same or better a many other tuscan restaurants. The primi piatti was risotto which was uncooked and claimed to contain saffron which was barely detectable IE pretty tasteless. The secondi was a lamb dish with some bland mint?? sauce which was reasonably well cooked but was two. one inch cubes of meat for 24 euros. 80 euros for my wife and I to share three dishes. I basically felt robbed. I'm hard pressed to give it one star.

Yelp
We booked a reservation for our 10yr anniversary and were not upset with the ambiance, service, and food. The fried zucchini flowers (fiori di zucca) were in season and splendidly cheesy, our bottle of 10yo Sangiovese wine was fantastic, and our primi, secondi, and deserts were great. The rabbit (coniglio) was worth the price of admission and my wife's cannolo for desert was the highlight at the end of the meal. Granted the area we were in was a little touristy, but the staff treated us like well-known locals. Overall very great dinner and worth the price!

Georges M.

Yelp
Excellent food for the sophisticated gourmet. Not an ordinary tourist type of destination. They cook with the freshest in season ingredients. All veggies are bursting with flavor whichever way they cook it. If it's on the menu, the beef cheek is a must.

Yelp
I went here on the recommendation of a friend-- he said the food, wine and environment were top notch--so I had to try it and was not disappointed. This restaurant is a good pick for a romantic date or to "do it big" on one of your nights in Siena. The menu is traditional although there are some contemporary approaches to classics as well. If you can, get a seat outside so you can people watch while you enjoy your dinner. Honorable mention goes to their squab preparation... second best I had throughout my trip to Italy and their Florentine steak (apparently it was so good my husband decided to keep it ALL for himself).

Yelp
There are so many good and great restaurants in Siena. The food here is good, the service is poor and the value is terrible. This place costs 2x what other places charge and the value is not there. Find another choice in Siena.
google avatar

Stuart M.

Yelp
Save your money and your palette. If you like paying 24 euros for boxed pasta and bland meats, this is the place for you. So many other better options. The appetizers were OK but the main dishes were bland, expensive, and uninspired. In Italy you can do so much better almost anywhere. Our lunch, with one glass of wine was around 220 US.

Yelp
Extraordinary food and fast service. The fried squash flowers were great and the gnocchi with lobster was a fantastic dish! Over a great spot if you are in Siena!
