The 15 Best Restaurants In Palermo 2024

"Osteria Mercede is located just a few blocks behind the famous Teatro Massimo opera house (which you’ll recognize from The Godfather Part III, White Lotus, or both, depending on how old you are) and is open most days for lunch and dinner. Here, the owner's previous life as a mariner comes through in the loosely-nautical decor and Mediterranean color scheme. They offer decent pricing for an entirely fish-based menu—think shellfish pastas, pesto alla trapanese with prawns, and mussels with tenerumi squash. In addition to traditional Italian plates like pasta with clams or mussels, you’ll find daily specials such as swordfish alla palermitana written on the hanging chalkboards in the dining room." - linda sarris

Truly amazing experience! Absolutely delicious seafood ! Everything tasted great and presented beautifully! My first ever experience of trying amberjack fish and it was cooked to perfection . Nice wine . Place was packed with people . Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals . Luckily we managed to sit outside, so please book in advance.

Rustic place that offers Sicilian food. We went here for dinner, and everything was great. Not sure what the other reviewers said about food portions being too small since we were so full after our dinner.

Lunch was delicious! Ordered the pasta with Trapani pesto and fresh sweet shrimps to start. Then the croaker and the snapper for mains. Outstanding in freshness and portion size. The snapper was served over a spring melange of peas, artichokes and fava beans. We were despairing because we had no room for dessert. The Sicilian wine list looked great. I had a white from Etna and it was delightful.

Sadly, The food was tasteless and to be honest they offer very small portions. If you wanna lose some weight and money, that’s the place you wanna be. Your belly and wallet will feel very empty after you leave this place. I really wonder how this place received so many high points though. Such a big disappointment. Most of the people who come to this restaurant coming only for taking pictures for social media. one American couple took 100 pictures in only 5 minutes. Someone should give them an award for that. The staff were really good at their job and friendly. I can’t say anything bad about them. But unfortunately I wouldn’t go back.

Amazing food and service! We heard about this lovely restaurant from our Airbnb host and came without a reservation. The waiters were so lovely and basically let us walk in for lunch - they recommended some tasty dishes and even gave us a free starter (raw octopus on bread). This might not be the cheapest place to dine in but you won’t regret visiting!

This is honestly one of the best restaurant I’ve ever visited. The food is extraordinary, with dishes prepared with only fresh ingredients. The recipes are unique and incredibly refined, not to mention that they are prepared with love and passion. You can actually “taste” their talent. Only a few chefs can offer such memorable culinary experience. I not only recommend this place, but it is a MUST visit whether you are a local or a tourist. Unbelievable!

Bit outside from the main tourist area and very close to the teatro Massimo. Tried to go as a walk in but everything was fully booked, so we made a booking for the next day. Totally worth it if you like sea food. Recommend the mixed sea food pasta.

I now understand why reservations are essential. They treat me, a foreigner, as well as a local, with open arms. And of course the food was perfect! The atmosphere in the restaurant was wonderful. The colour combination in the restaurant was also stylish! I wish they would open a branch in Tokyo!
