We stumbled upon this place while walking in Verona. They say they're one of the oldest establishments in the city, which could be true considering they seem to have an authentic ancient wine cellar (see the photo). Not a lot of variety in terms of food dishes, but they seemed very much local. We ordered the horsemeat and the pasta soup. Both were good. Service was pretty good as well, as we were done and out in about half an hour since we were on a time crunch.

Portions are very small, pricey, although the food is great. The service was disappointing. Since I was alone, they were not happy with me at all. I was seated at a big table by a waiter, in a few moments the manager came to me and rudely asked to take smaller table. In overall they pretended to be polite, but it felt fake. I decided not to order the dessert afterwards.

I can only say one thing. Amazing. The staff was super friendly, especially the woman helping us. She gave us great advice on wine and then some tips about the menu. If you have intolerances (like gluten), they are super helpful. Great experience of authentic food and great service!

We spent our first evening in Verona in this restaurant, having all around the north part of the old city we came across this and thought the menu looked good. The staff were very friendly but seemed to be quite busy, and we had to flag them down to order more wine. We would describe this more as a wine bar that serves food. They have a good selection of wine as well as a fantastically priced house wine which was delicious. I was very grateful that it (red) was served cold. We really enjoyed the three different cheeses aged at different periods., The contrast and tastes were delicious. In addition, we had the cold meats which complimented the cheese. I had the lasagne, which could have had a little bit more meat inside. The lasagne sheets were light and dedicate. Well priced, and a pleasant environment to spend an evening.

Amazing food, amazing service, it’s really worthy to visit this place at least once when visiting Verona, we will come back for sure!

this is REAL local “osteria” , not just another one tourist trap. Reasonable prices , good selection of wines, local food, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere….

Google
quite an authentic place! has a rather limited menu but the dishes were done really well! haven’t eaten much lasagna in my life but this was the best one i’ve had so far! was also my first time trying the horse meat stew w polenta and i would say it’s done well! not gamey and tastes comforting and hearty, just like i had expected it to. prices are good as well (~15pp)

The food was very good here and we ate here twice. Relaxed, casual, atmospheric, with great service and a friendly staff. The place was full when we arrived for dinner, but we got a table. We sat under the portico outside in the candlelight. You order from a hand-written menu (always a good sign). My wife ordered an orzo salad. I ordered lasagna, which I have never ordered in all of our trips to Italy. Both of our meals were excellent. We drank a litre of bianco and took our time. The prices here are very reasonable. We came back the next day for lunch.

Yelp
Food tours bring you to places you would perhaps never find on your own and that was the case with the lovely Giullia and Do Eat Better Verona https://www.yelp.com/biz/do-eat-better-verona-verona?hrid=OrfXfmvA4-aK5ZbGOZGFfw. We enjoyed secondi piatti this time and let our tour guide make recommendations. While I wasn't going to eat a whole plate of it, I did try the Pastisada de Caval (stewed horse meat) and obliterated my food tour comfort zone. It tasted like beef. For my main, I had the Polenda e Baccalá Cucinato Al Latte Con Acciugne Capperi e Grana (fresh cod with anchovies and capers) and that was amazing. Rich creamy flavor with big pieces of cod that I really enjoyed. This is a lovely restaurant with a great local vibe, lots of interesting options and quite inexpensive. Worth it! Yelp
Went for an aperitivo and few polpette (small meat, rice or vegetables balls) and loved the atmosphere. Authentic and cozy. The owner, a lady from Verona named Michela was very helpful in recommending the wines we tasted. We also ordered a Tagliata di Vitello affumicato, vitello tonnato and polenta. All the dishes were very fresh and tasty, the meat was particularly tended. One of the top osteria I visited in verona. Cannot wait to go back. P.S. Walk in only, first come first served. Make sure you get there early

Yelp
After running the Verona 10K, we decided to treat ourselves to lunch near our Airbnb. We read the reviews for this restaurant and were excited to give it a try! Boy are we glad we did. First of all, they do mention in their menu that they take a more relaxed view of service, therefore, just sit back, relax and enjoy spending time with your food companions. If you're in a hurry, do not come here. You will likely leave upset and leave a poor review when it is not their fault you didn't read their menu! After settling into a nice seat outside (the inside is very small, can hold about 15 people max), we ordered the soup of the day, the lasagna and the risotto with blue cheese. The soup of the day was incredible, it just hit the spot considering it was very cold outside and there are no heaters outside. My lasagna was good, maybe a little too much tomato sauce to cheese ratio but I'd order it again. The risotto and blue cheese was also yummy but it wasn't very exciting (if that makes sense). To be honest, I wish I would have just ordered three plates of the soup of the day (squash) because it was that good. From beginning to end I think our meal took about 1.5-2 hours to complete? So yes, they're not kidding when they say that trattoria service is relaxed. There were also only 2 waitresses working but they never stopped working. Happy to have stumbled upon this little restaurant!

Yelp
First night in Verona, cold and rainy. We found this somewhat out of the way place after a bit of looking for some more famous places that were closed for the season. It was warm and welcoming inside and we had some excellent pasta e fagioli as well as polenta al gorgonzola. Left full and warm. Good service. cozy atmosphere.

Yelp
The highlight was the crespella which was light yet flavoursome. I would love to know how they made this simple dish. You can sit outside if it's nice and watch the world go by!
