"The team behind Lovage in Jesmond have turned their attention to the fruits of the sea at this restaurant on the bustling Gosforth High Street. Despite not quite being the restaurant’s namesake, oysters are available in multiple guises to kick off proceedings, before a choice of prime fish and shellfish. The chefs are aware of the quality of their ingredients, eschewing overcomplication in favour of simple combinations – like Pink Fir potatoes, tenderstem and beurre blanc accompanying a generous helping of sea trout." - Michelin Inspector

I was pleasantly surprised by this lovely little restaurant on Gosforth High Street. The decor is very tasteful and the music created a lovely atmosphere. The food was amazing - The menu is heavy on seafood (which is all fresh - not frozen!) But there was still plenty of other things to choose from and the quality was to a very high standard. We had a few cocktails which were all lovely and the staff were very attentive and friendly. I can't think of a negative!! I will definitely return.

Had a fabulous meal with the girls, the whole experience was 10/10 obviously the food was the star of the night and cooked perfectly and presented to height standard, The taste and the textures all blended together perfectly. All the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu, not forgotten the bar manager who served us cocktails and oysters before dinner was very entertaining and explained the drinks menus. Cant Waite to re visit

The food was beyond good and the service was really good. Love the cocktails (2 for £14) We had the set menu, very reasonable and the food was amazing. We had 8 cocktails in total, extra 6 oysters and 2 courses for £25 Although it's not on their website, they do a kids menu 2 course for £10 and 3 course for £15

The service was so lovely here, but some elements of the food let the experience down a little. We went on a Sunday to dine and it was a lovely atmosphere with not too many people in the restaurant. Slightly unfortunate that the oysters themselves were a little underwhelming, slightly lack lustre in flavour and a little too fishy if you know what I mean. I don’t know if maybe it’s just the batch that may have been different to their usual standard? The main dishes we had were lovely and the ravioli was surprisingly wonderful a long with the halibut that was very light and fresh! They accommodated to small changes we wanted to make to a dish perfectly and the service was wonderful. We thought we’d try the sticky toffee pudding for desert as it was only served on a Sunday and figured it must be something special, however, it was a little dry for our liking so we left on that note a date disappointed. Overall the experience was lovely, the presentation of food was beautiful, but the oysters and sticky toffee pudding a little under par.

We ate here last night- four of us having already eaten at Lovage. Tuna ceviche was delicious. Octopus was tasty too. Two guests had duck but said it was only warm and skin not crisp but was anyway tasty too. Good selection of interesting dishes and wines on the menu. It was full so booking recommended!

I do like trying new/different types of restaurants when on my travels and this place stood out after a wee search around Newcastle. Simply put it is a great place - decor, staff and food were all brilliant! Wait staff serving me were very knowledgeable, polite, friendly and did help(or persuade!) me into deciding what to go for. All super fresh ingredients presented beautifully too, flavours were incredible and all complimented each other rather well. All this was on the Evening Set Menu which was a exceptional value considering the high quality of both food and service - it's definitely worth a try once at the very least! Would recommend for sure, shame it could be a while before I'm back

Me and my family had an amazing meal last night at Osters. Everything was perfect, amazing food i had the lamb and it was perfectly cooked! The whole service was sleek and professional exactly what i expected. We enjoyed the set menu which was really great value and the cocktail offer which was so well put together, really lovely craft cocktails! I highly recommend Osters to anyone looking for fresh local food and a fine dining experience!
