Yelp
Ostrea has such a charming vibe--the space is cute and stylish, and the staff were wonderful from the moment we arrived. The valet bellman even walked me right to the restaurant and shared that "Ostrea" is Latin for oyster, which was such a welcoming and personal touch.
Unfortunately, the food itself really missed the mark. We ordered a dozen Pink Moon Oysters (from Prince Edward Island), the Grilled and Chilled Spanish Octopus, Chilean Sea Bass Cioppino, Seared Scallops, and Ahi Tuna Tartare. While everything was presented nicely, the portions were very small and the dishes just didn't carry the depth of flavor I was hoping for. With the way the menu and atmosphere are set up, I was expecting something more memorable.
I really wanted to love it, but overall it felt more style than substance. I'd go back for drinks or maybe a light bite in that pretty setting, but for a full dinner, it's not somewhere I'd rush back to.
