Otay Ranch Town Center

Otay Ranch Mall is on of the best in Chula Vista in South San Diego California. It has every store you need in 1 place. Ulta, Sephora, Hollister, Apple, Tons of foodie places, BUT they just closed my fave "GREAT AMERICAN COOKIE" please bring it back! It was the only ice cream AND smoothie place in the mall. There is even a Best Buy. My other fave place to eat~Cheese Cake Factory is here. Don't worry the food court and other decent restaurants are scattered about the mall. Oh yeah, I love that there is an AMC Theatre here too when I need a movie fix. Check out Otay Ranch Mall Tonight😇💯

We had a great experience at The Cheesecake Factory in Otay Ranch Town Center! The atmosphere was welcoming and lively, and the service was attentive from start to finish. The menu is huge, but everything we ordered was delicious and came out fresh and well-prepared. Portion sizes are generous. Of course, we couldn’t leave without trying the cheesecake, it was the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, a really enjoyable dining experience, and I’d definitely come back again!

Ok I had always driven by this restaurant and thought "oh nice! This place looks great." I've had quite a few people tell me this restaurant has delicious food. It really does! Definitely suitable for vegans and vegetarians! Food was great. I loved the decor inside.

The mall has semi-higher end shops. The food court is very disappointing but there are a lot of options across the street. It's not often super busy, but when it is there's a ton of parking immediately available.

The customer service it was terrible they didn’t know how to manage my sandwich l ask them for a veggie/ vegetarian Sandwich and they treated me disrespectful and my sandwich it’ was soaked and wet put it so much oil very little salt and too much pepper and the sandwich was soaked and wet very bad l didn’t eat at all. My review is one star. The employee should be aware of the people sandwiches being mindful and patience.

We decided to go and watch the Padres game at "Novo" Brazil restaurant at otay ranch, this was the first time for me and I really liked this place. It is very espacious with a very nice atmosphere, the waiters treated us very well and the food was delicious, Even though the place was packed there was enough space between the tables and the high ceilings allow air to flow well. I passed a good 5 hrs at this place, I highly recomend to you if you haven't been there to give it a try.

Great place to walk around, very walk friendly. Many new businesses coming in. Everyone was really friendly, and all the shops are well presented.

Great experience and I like how the mall is outside and built up to accommodate kids and adults. I think this is better than the San Ysidro outlets.

So Yelp deleted my last review for this mall but I'm going to keep writing. I've been here several times and I'm still not impressed. I wish they had a Nike, another brewery, Victoria Secrets, Lids, and a Yard House. The stores that they do have are just okay like DSW, Macy's, Cheesecake Factory, and Best Buy. I mean come on this mall can do better!!!

What a fun car show the 22nd Annual Cruise for the Cause event hosted by Magic 92.5 & Xavier XMan at Otay Ranch Town Center in Chula Vista.

This mall is just okay. There could be some way better stores. We need like a Lids, even a Hot Topic, at least a Foot Locker.... The food selection is pretty cool and AMC is great. I really think whoever owns this mall is setting the lease prices too high and companies say "forget that". The only thing keeping this mall alive is Barnes & Noble, Sephora, Apple, and Vans. Do better corporate.

Sucks. All but one food court restaurant is gone. No free wifi. Empty and dead of life and culture. Lower the rent so you can keep businesses. Also invest in local businesses.

This is a super nice mall that has gone through many changes; although, whoever is in charge seems to make the right decisions when adapting to the changing times. The addition of the bus transit is a major convenience for commuters sans automobile. A lot of stores are gone though- R.I.P. to Build a bear Comics n stuff Sanrio Victoria's Secret Still, they've kept some nice restaurants and fast food places: Novo Brazil El Pollo Grill Taco Revolution Blaze Pizza Kebab Shop Cheesecake Factory Jersey Mike's Sushi Ya Buffalo Wild Wings California Pizza Kitchen Chilis Wetzel's Pretzels Nestle Tollhouse Cookies The AMC theater has modern, spacious, plush, recliner seating for a pleasant movie-going experience. Otay Town Center also houses: Barnes and Noble (Starbucks in house) Apple Store Ulta Best Buy MACY'S Zumiez Vans Bath & Body Works Party City Chula Vista library, with Passport Services Kids Popper Fountain School of Rock, complete with live concerts! Planet Fitness Dog Park And if by chance, not one of these establishments does it for you, Millenia Shopping Center is just across the street!

This is the main mall in the Eastlake/Otay area of Chula Vista. This mall used to be great when it was new and upcoming, but over the years major stores have pulled out/closed down and now it's mediocre. I mainly come here for food now since they have a lot of restaurants and eateries located around the perimeter of the mall. I don't live in this area anymore, but usually I eat at Sushiya or Taquería Revolución whenever I'm nearby and craving sushi or tacos. However, this mall does have major chain restaurants like Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang's, California Pizza Kitchen, and Buffalo Wild Wings. There are also quite a few food court type eateries such as Hot Dog on a Stick, The Kebab Shop, Jersey Mike's, Panda Express, and Panera. The stores here vary, but are mostly cost effective. Some examples of the stores are: Ulta, Bath&Body Works, Cotton On, DSW, H&M, Hollister, Macy's, etc. They have quite a few random, non-brand stores as well. Lastly, for entertainment they have a Barnes & Noble as well as an AMC movie theater. Both facilities are great and I frequented both places when I lived in the area. Also, they have a small library which came in handy when I turned in my passport application and voter mail-in ballot! Overall, this mall is nothing to rush to, but it's still a nice place to walk around/browse and possibly grab a snack or enjoy a meal.

I was not impressed! Seriously how many food places does a Mall need. I expected to see more stores, sadly that was not the case. Otay is a very nice developed area. More stores like Fashion Valley would be great.

Me and the family love coming to this mall, especially since it's right near our house and also since it's dog friendly. This mall has everything other malls have but more. For one like I stated it's dog friendly. With dog bowls all around the mall for water, also there's a dog park and vet at the end of the mall. Parking is vast and has option to park in the middle, front, or at the back of the mall. There's a gym, plenty of food options, and clothing stores. I personally love the barber shop and one awesome thing about this mall is that they have a Farmers Market every Tuesday! There's so much to eat and choose from it's ridiculous! So if you're in the mood to shop around I or just kill time and walk around with the whole family and dogs then this is the place to be!!

Pretty decent shopping center with a fair amount of eateries and outdoor shopping. They have free chargers for electric vehicles. Not that I need it. But good to know. I've been here a couple times now for different things, including orange theory.

NICE OPEN AIR SHOPPING MALL ! We have been to Chula Vista only once before since we moved to California 16 years ago. Living in Solana Beach it is just not on our road map. THAT HAS CHANGED ! My wife and I made the long drive ( 46 miles ) here on Saturday so we could have lunch at Novo Brazil Brewing inside the center. We drove around the streets within the center looking for a parking spot but it was pretty packed out so we opted for a parking lot a short walk away. It's a nice shopping mall with a lot of eateries and other small businesses. Definitely worth checking out !

I have to say I've been coming to this mall regularly for over 13 years. The stores have come and gone. A lot of retailers haven't made it here and this includes pre Covid. I think the main problem here is the location. They overestimated people using the 125 toll road to come here. That didn't happen as well as they thought because people don't want to pay to get to a mall. Albeit the mall itself is nice, another main issue is no one wants to pay sky high prices to shop here. A lot of the stores here have closed. There is no more Banana Republic (what a play on words considering how political the climate is), there is no more Victoria Secret, no more REI, heck Famous Footwear didn't even make it here. All pretty big brand name stores that couldn't crack sales. There is always another store put in its place but if main line stores like this cannot make it in an area that is supposed to be "bourgeois" there's a big problem. To close this out I need to point out the lack of customer service overall here (the Southern region of town in general has a lack of it). You will notice a difference in how staff treats its customers here compared to a Fashion Valley. There have been times staff has ignored me, was straight up rude, or did not give a crap about their jobs. Even the janitorial staff at this mall...I've had attitudes thrown out simply for asking when the restroom would re-open (they tend to shut them down quite often) or for walking near a wet floor area that is basically the entrance to the mall (the food court...albeit I did walk around it). This is a BIG reason IMO no one wants to shop here. Go further north to a real mall like Fashion Valley and you will notice a difference in customer service and the main retail stores you can find there that you cannot find here. No one wants an attitude thrown their way when they are trying to spend money at a supposed established business. The mall needs to retrain a lot of their employees from the cleaning crew to the shop workers! The only thing this place has going for it is the decent selection of restaurants and maybe the AMC theatre.

Nice mall! Lots of restaurants around. I don't really come to shop. But when i did.. it was for H&M and DSW. I usually come here to eat. I like the idea of having restaurant choices, but it would be nice if the food selection at the food court was more diverse and had more options. Nice place to hang out. Kids have the library and splash pad. Dog friendly with a dog park located toward Planet Fitness or the "fitness side" of the mall. Lots of activites.. boxing.. pilates.. dance... gyms.. MMA. Etc. Can we please add more EV plugs ins?? It's ridiculous during the evenings and weekends when the place gets packed!

I come to this mall often since I live a few blocks away. Also have gym membership at planet fitness. Overall its a decent mall, i wish it would have more stores. I do highly recommend the farmers market on Tuesdays but other than the farmers market and gym. i'd rather go to other bigger malls like Fashion Valley or the North County Mall.

Higher end shopping center. Completely outdoors. Think Fashion Valley style meets Chula Vista, very similar selection of stores. Even better ones, at least for my tastes. We don't come often, but when we do it's Cheesecake Factory, Buffalo Wild Wings, Apple store, and a few others in the mall. There's even a TKS--the kebab shop here too. Pretty much any food choice in close proximity. It's located right off the 125 toll road, or you can avoid the tolls and take Olympic parkway exit off the 805 and head eastbound for 5 miles or so and many street lights. We like it, just not usually our first choice since it's Chula Vista.

I was amazed when I had visited the Center a few years ago. I did not even know the exact name and had asked a patrolling cop. Since then, I drove a lot of miles to come here if I need to visit a mall. It's very nice, clean and spacious and had almost reminded me if I was in Costa Mesa mall. Parking near the restaurants tends to get full quick, however near the theater, there is plenty of it. Still great to see Barnes and Nobles here. Walking in and around the mall is cool. EV charging spots are available, even though just two of them. Food court is awesome, gives a very nice impression. There seems to be now roadside little kiosks, which dont look as appealing as the ones in UTC mall have built for such.

Small outdoor mall in Chula Vista. They have limited stores but a few good ones too. They have a Sephora and an Ulta in the same shopping center which is rare to find since they're competitors. Highlights: Cheesecake Factory H&M Barnes & Noble Macy's AMC Victoria's Secret I've only been here twice, both occasions I was with my friend who lives in the area. Not bad but it would be cool to see them bring a few more brands to the mall.

My favorite place to dine in. The food is delicious and the customer service top notch. All of the staff are s super friendly and professional specially Kevin!!!

A really nice outside plaza to enjoy during the nice weather days. Limited selection when it comes to retail stores but there it's still a great plaza. Parking is super spacious and plenty. They have a great outside area for kids to play and during the hot summer days they turn on the water for kids to run around in!! Super fun and kid friendly.

Aside from the construction, this isn't a bad mall. I used to frequent this spot for Sephora, Aldo, H&M, Hollister, DSW, Victoria's Secret, Charlotte Russe, and Macy's yet I never cared to remark on my visits because I don't usually review shopping centers but after reading a few reviews, I think I'll make an exception. Yes this mall has uncommon boutiques. No it isn't hard to find parking unless you're obese and/or incapable of walking around a pedestrian shopping center! Actually, I was obese and in high heels back in the day and I still managed to get around (with two dogs) so to whoever thinks parking sucks, get used to light cardio and suck it up. Anyway, this mall has Stepford Wife aesthetics to match the tile roof, terracotta Spanish villa looks of the surrounding new Chula Vista otherwise known as the Mexican La Jolla. It isn't an ugly mall by any means, it just may not be your style. What I appreciate about this mall are the community amenities like the dog park near REI or the paintball field (this may be under construction at the moment). Other honorable mentions are the fireplace, public library, interactive water geysers, and the Tuesday farmer's market. I don't know if it's still happening but I remember live llama rides every Tuesday. My dogs loved gawking over llamas. As far as food choices, I would say that there is a tiny sample of everything available to suit every palate. I'm vegetarian and I found something to eat while walking around so it isn't awful. Middle class to high-end chain restaurants aren't my thing but I won't fuss about Cheesecake Factory's happy hour nor would I fuss about a quick bite from Vitality Bowls. There's also a Panda Express, Chilis, Jack in the Box, California Pizza Kitchen, and Sushiya to those who are into those sorts of places. I would rather go here than Plaza Bonita unless I wanted to shop at Nordstrom Rack or Forever 21. But honestly, let's get real... if you're a consumer, you know your ass drives all over San Diego to shop! Don't act like you get it all done in one mall. Parkway Plaza and Fashion Valley are the two biggest malls in terms of store selection but those malls stress me out so I make it easy on my blood pressure and I stick to the underrated places.

Fantastic public restrooms. I mean they really come close to the Bloomingdale's restrooms at Fashion Valley and those are some top tier restrooms. It's not often that I can rave about a public restroom's cleanliness & tranquility but this one is a gem. Would recommend.

Came to this mall because it's an outdoor mall. I thought I rated this place. This mall has high end stores such as Macy's, Sephora, Coach, and other name brands. I love shopping here cause it also has DSW. I ended up buying a pair of sandals here. Love coming here. This place has a food court which I don't care for. I like eating at Chilli's or other food restaurants near by. Food court kind of sucks. This mall has plenty of parking throughout the mall and is dog friendly.

This is a pretty nice opened type mall with a huge AMC theater and plenty of places to eat for any budget. The market is full of artisan, shops and plenty of great vendors to get some good eats from. Parking is plentiful and security is always visible. The mall offers a small food court and library. There is a Starbucks cafe located inside the Barne's and Noble. A nice shopping center with plenty for all to do and one of the most picturesque of the bunch. Oh yes, on the out skirts of the parking lot, there's a paint ball place.

This mall is outdoor, new, pretty.. Unfortunately, there aren't too many stores.. And the food court is VERY limited. I still rate this mall 4 stars bc of what they offer.. It's best to come here if you have a purpose, like a specific store you need to go to. They also have a little water play area that's great for little kids to run around in on hot days.. We also enjoy coming here on Tuesday afternoon/evenings during the farmers market to walk around... The library is small but also a nice little place to stop in, especially during story time... Around the corner on the West end of the mall, there's even a dog park where your dogs can run around in... Of course there's also several restaurants and the theater too! A few wks ago, my daughter celebrated her 4th bday... Her n her friends got their hair braided at Pigtails & Crewcuts. We then went across to the food court where we set up a section for our party. The mall was very accommodating.

Mall seems to be falling apart aka Ghost Town. Use to come here often because my fav store Angl was here but it shut down along with plenty of other stores. Lots of vacancies and unknown generic stores here. This mall is in a perfect location but definitely needs improvement. Reminds of Victoria Gardens when they first opened and now Victoria Gardens has improved, added plenty of restaurants and retail stores, even has a horse and carriage during the holidays and a train. Otay can become the go-to mall for many people in the area if they expanded and opened for known shops. Now we can come just to kill time, sit at the food court eating an ice cream.

Good mall but a lot of "Socials" meaning high class TJ people (some are kind of snobby) with there tight Banana Republic shirts & lil dirty pumas shoes that look like bowling shoes. But hey it's ok that's some of my family right there. Love that you can bring your doggie & there's water everywhere. But please if your dog goes Caca please clean up his Caca, gracias.

Looks pretty and new from the outside but on paper the stores present are pretty lackluster and sad. I was bored of going to the same Westfield malls so I thought to check this place out and although it was super out of the way, thought it was worth the drive but sadly I regret going here due to lack of stores that are offered. I'm sure it's not just me as it was pretty dead for a weekend. What looks to used to be an Anthropology, it looks to have closed down due to lack of business. Went to Macy and it was pretty small and quiet. There are some charger stations which was pretty cool but that's about it. The H&M was pretty small and that was the only decent store where I spent most of my time while there. Probably won't be coming here again due to lack of stores that interest me.

Just came back from this mall...and it's a little off the beaten path but I have to say...it's a few days before Christmas and it was not crazy busy and I got my last few presents in as little as 45 mins. Now that the 125 South Toll Road is open it's literally a hop, skip and jump away from me which is very nice. I do agree that it needs a good home store like Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn or West Elm...but it's still adding new stores and I am sure in the future it will add those types of stores in.

As one of my old friends called this mall on her Yelp review, this is a "bougie mall." First off, what's with the outdoor food court? The food court has been a joke since day one! I haven't seen all stalls occupied since the mall's first year in 2007. You're better off eating at one of the sit-down chain restaurants. Even better, drive one block away from the mall to In-n-Out Burger! With the neighboring Plaza Bonita and Chula Vista malls that are constantly being remodeled, yet have more affordable shops, there are only few reasons to spend a good amount of time here: - TUESDAY FARMER'S MARKETS - Barnes and Noble, one of the few surviving stores in San Diego - Apple Store for convenient service (I've never used their services, so I can't say much) - Dine at... Buffalo Wild Wings (the only one in East Chula Vista; formerly occupied by King's Fish House) Cheesecake Factory Chili's Macaroni Grill California Pizza Kitchen P.F. Chang's - Watch a movie at AMC 12 (I believe) - Shop at Macy's, Victoria's Secret, Bath and Body Works, just a few of the mall staples if you live in Otay Ranch or Eastlake and do not want to travel far It tries to be bougie, but it neither has practical shops like Target, nor the true luxury stores you'll find in Fashion Valley. If I remember correctly, the Starbucks and Panda Express shops are located on a far end, with another Starbucks and Panda Express just two miles away at the Eastlake Marketplace! I do appreciate some of the small shops, like a sports store for me to quickly shop for a SD ball cap to bring with me back to Hawaii. I didn't have to drive too far from my parents' home for this quick errand. Really, this mall is only good for a quick shop and go.

It's an amazing center. So many different things to do and see. The Tuesday farmers market is fantastic

Otay Ranch Town Center is a favorite mall for me to shop. Very clean and all my favorite stores are here Banana Republic, Apple Store, book store, coffee house and Macy's. Good restaurants and a movie house. Not crowded and parking is not a problem.

Finally fast and efficient technicians at Otay Ranch Mall. Laptops Plus didn't byte my wallet. Others tried to up sell me to buy a new laptop.

I remember when this mall opened up. For San Diego, it was one the first town center/town square type shopping experiences. The only place that came close to this style of shopping was Seaport Village. Yes..I was here for the first week of opening and expected this place to boom. Well, that didn't happen as expected. Plaza Bonita, Horton Plaza, and Fashion Valley still dominated the shopping experience in San Diego. But I still like this little mini-city of shops in Otay Ranch. This place doesn't get too busy, even during the holidays. Regarding parking, it's usually tough on the Eastlake Parkway side so try parking near the Food Pavilion or even the Macy's side. Their Food Pavilion (ie. their food court) really isn't that good, but their restaurants more than make up for it. As for my favorites at this town center, it's their AMC, Apple, Barnes & Noble, and Best Buy. All are pretty much tame, which means no crowds. Overall, this place is a nice calm place to shop. And guess what? Otay Ranch is also pet friendly. I love the feel of this "town center" "mall." Well....it's NOT QUITE a mall but so different from a strip mall. I'd say it's in the middle! What I love about this place is that it is so dog friendly!! If I could bring both my fur-kids here they would love it! Some stores have a doggie bowl at the door (just in case they are thirsty from walking around with their parent (s). Doggie bag (poop bags for those who are not canine inclined) are dispersed though out the Town Center. There is a night market that stages on the main road between the stores between 4-8pm on Tuesdays. From what I saw, various food stands as well as crafted items but no veggies/fruits or flowers. All in all, a great place to hang if you decide you want to do something a little different from your routine. Not that many stores that appeal to the younger generation (i'm guessing 20 y.o. and below) but there were a few of my favorite shops there: - Anthropologie - Aldos - REI - Gap - Barnes & Noble - Macys - Sephora - LOFT - DSW There are a variety of places to eat as well that include Romano's Macaroni Grill, PF Changs, The Cheesecake Factory, Chilis (all mostly chain restaurants but still better than the typical food court choices). I like this place and it wasn't crowded like Fashion Valley Mall. Perfect for an afternoon outing without all the fuss. Parking was a breeze!

My favorite mall in San Diego is Horton Plaza, and to be honest, I didn't know Otay Ranch Town Center, (for the sake of not worsening my potential carpel tunnel, I'll abbreviate this place as ORTC), existed until my sister started a relationship with a guy that works at ORTC. This shopping center is pretty awesome. A little high end, but awesome. Like a lot of other Westfield malls in San Diego county, ORTC is also outdoors, however, everything is one story and not connected like traditional malls. Meaning that Sephora is across the street from Victoria's Secret, which is down the sidewalk from Bath and Body Works, as opposed to across the hall or something. You need to make sure you don't get run over by cars when you go from one store to another that's across the way. But if you do get run down, hey, natural selection, right? Things to enjoy at ORTC: dog park, high end stores, decent food court, AMC Theatres, dine-in restaurants, and even a Chula Vista Public Library branch..! Dude, what the hell?! A library branch AND great shopping all in once place?!?! What more could you ask for? Only downside I can think of is that the rich / elite from Tijuana frequent this mall. Not self-loathing or anything. Just warning you.. Also, given that there are a few high schools in the vicinity, there are high school kids galore here on weekends (and now, since they're on summer break). High school kids. Bleh. Other than that, ORTC is a great, alternative to the rich snobs at Fashion Valley. I wish the MTS provided more frequent transportation to and from ORTC.

It has come to the point where I only go to this mall if I need something specific. I live just a few minutes away, but there's nothing here that really draws me in. You can usually find me in Anthropologie, Sephora, Macy*s, or the Apple Store. I sometimes shop at H&M, Ann Taylor Loft and GAP, and I will randomly drop into Gepetto's. Aside from that, I don't come here to kill time like I do with Plaza Bonita or Target. I tried hanging out/studying at Barnes & Noble a couple times, but I found it to be overrun with teenagers. I feel like this mall is definitely more women-oriented. Boyfriend always ends up waiting for me in the Apple Store. Still, I'm glad I don't have to drive outside my safe Eastlake/Otay Ranch bubble. There are definitely many dining options. I always end up at Sushiya with my girlfriends for a spontaneous, local dinner or Panera for a quickie lunch. I feel like it has all of the standard family style, run of the mill restaurants, too. (PF Changs, Macaroni Grill, Cheesecake Factory, CPK, Chili's) I've seen a ton of movies at that AMC, especially on $6 Friday mornings, and I've wandered through the Farmer's Market a few times. Of course, the dog park is a great perk. I come here with my Penny Lane and she gets to sniff all of the other small dogs. The entire mall is dog-friendly, with water bowls outside most stores and many poop bag dispensers. I'm glad that there is a Best Buy and Party City here, too. Can we get a Michael's next? P.S. I give this mall 3 stars because it's new, its got an extensive amount of high end stores as well as mid grade shops and it has an impressive list of restaurants to chose from. The downside is that parking is horrible unless you chose to valet or get there early. Personally I find it easier to shop at this center when you know which shops you want to visit otherwise, you might find yourself "dazed and confused." This place is HUGE so be prepared to do a lot of walking.

They literally only have the farmers market keeping them alive. The rest of the mall has no stores worth going to outside of what you'd normally see at malls, the free wifi sucks and doesn't work about 95% of the time. Management keeps putting junky stores and fitness places, who needs 10 gyms within a 100 feet radius? The food court consists of a HUGE variety of 3 restaurants and a library??? Put something fun like more food places, bars, entertainment. Other than that this mall has no worth going to other than to check out all the going-out-of-business sales p.s. i'm writing my review at the mall and the poor connection they offer with their wifi won't let me post, maybe they realize how bad it is themselves

It's new with retail shops and restaurants. I've been here a couple times only because I have fams in the area. Otherwise, I wouldn't make the trek all the way down here. I'm not too crazy about the drive thru aspect of the town center. It creates traffic and is a hazard for kids or pets who tend to stray away to cross the road to the other side of the mall.

What is wrong with this mall? And what could fix it? That is the question I've been pondering quite a few times whenever I come here, and there are so few people milling about that it makes me feel uncomfortable. I went here today and saw that they lost REI. Uh... My favorite store in the mall. And others. They've lost a few others. Will they lose so many more that the mall becomes pointless and withers away? In an article about the situation, officials pointed out that they have 90% occupancy, which is better than the national average. But in terms of age and presumably some of the demographics, this thing should be significantly better than average. I mean, today it was so dead that when I went into Nestle Tollhouse, the girl just kept talking to some guy making a delivery and I waited 3 minutes despite being the only person in the vicinity, not just the store. When a brand new mall is built that admittedly looks very nice, but just isn't working out, there could be any number of reasons why. Did they open this mall too soon? Possibly. There is a large new project coming in next door to the south (millenia) and others still in progress that will add many thousands of people to the area. Will those people fill this place up? Probably not all by themselves. Toll Road. Easiest way to get here is the toll road. But people hate tolls. Alternatives include roads that become very busy during rush hour traffic. When do people like to shop? Rush hour, a lot of the time. It's kind of a bitch to get here, and most malls do rely upon more of a 5-10 mile radius than those just in the immediate vicinity. Big, but not that many stores. Walking this thing is nice, and well... You're kind of alone, so that's good I suppose. It's around 1730 feet from end to end, whereas Plaza Bonita is more like 1950 feet from end to end. Except Plaza Bonita has multiple levels and a higher concentration of stores along the way, and more types of stores. And why does the Chula Vista Police department have a storefront here, which is near the center of the project presumably in at least a B grade location and it's not only uninteresting but always closed. There's also a Chula Vista mini library or hangout joint. Why? Why not maximize the existing central retail spaces for income? The Heat. It's almost as far east as El Cajon here, and probably about as far as La Mesa. They have an outdoor mall in La Mesa, so that shouldn't be a problem, except La Mesa is smack dab in the middle of East County, and right off a major freeway that charges no tolls. Also, the outdoor mall in La Mesa has an indoor food court. So a lot of times that I've been here it's freaking hot, there's not a whole lot of shade, and with the stores being spaced so far apart, who is just going to walk around? Appeal of approach. When you drive up, a lot of times you think, hey, I'm going to try and get one of those parking spaces on the attractive interior of the mall. Rarely are spaces available, even in a mall that a lot of times is pretty dead. So then, after you've driven from Eastlake Ave. to the back of the mall where REI used to be, you have to peel left or right and hopefully remember where the store you want to go is located. You've taken 3-5 minutes just driving through most likely, and now you need to figure out where you want to park along the exterior which is like most malls. When you walk up, it feels like you've parked behind a strip mall with employees taking smoke breaks and truck loading areas. By the time you're in the main shopping area, a lot of times you've been on site for 10 minutes. Ten minutes of bad experiences and now you're ready to shop! I really like this place, I really hope it succeeds because the food options in particular within Chula Vista are already awful including this place which has some o.k. options, and I love having a Barnes and Noble (didn't go near it today, hope it's not closed). If I were in charge, I think I would actually try and make the interior less auto focused so people don't get the wise idea to try and park there. Reduce the number of spaces greatly, maybe limiting it to disabled parking, and allow street vendors and food trucks to rent spaces. Create significantly more shade and some areas to sit down and relax, taking in the attractive central drag. From the parking areas which are now where everybody will be parking, spend a small amount of money wisely to make the walk-up more attractive, how you do this is not my forte. Maybe look at more events for the place in addition to the Farmer's markets which I've heard are pretty good but never been to. Maybe a once-a-month car show where they close down all the interior parking and let people cruise the main drag showing off their cars? Who knows... It really bugs me watching things not work out and I hope it works out for Otay Ranch Town Center.

Love it here . Their layout is different from any other mall I've been too. Their food court has so many great options. And the best part is they have a farmers market on Tuesday I think and they have the best food. Clean. Spacious and kid friendly.

I enjoy that this shopping center is located really close to where we live. They have a bunch of different stores to shop at and a bunch of various restaurants for different pallets. This place is nice and open and they have a lot of parking. This place is fun to go shopping at and then go grab something to eat and end the night by watching the most recent movie that's out. I would recommend this shopping center because they have a bunch of things to see and even if you don't find what you need you can always go to the shopping center right across the street. They also have a lot of areas where you can sit outside, relax and rest from all the walking you've done ^_^

I went here last night for the Chula Vista Wine and Food Festival - for a mall, I was surprised at how upscale the place was. Very clean, not too crowded (there was no line for the Cheesecake Factory location, unlike the one in Mission Valley)... if it weren't so far out of the way, I can see myself spending more time here! Oh, and the festival was awesome - plenty of food and drink (loved the prime rib and mashed potatoes, and the tequila from the Adam Y Eva booth), plus I was able to take home eight of the wine tasting glasses, and a four pack of ginger beer. Yay me!

This outdoor mall is super cute ! They have farmers market on Wednesday and it was surprisingly crowded. The popcorn stand was the bomb and I don't even eat popcorn like that. Lots of cool things to buy! Lots of parking ! Nice mall. Clean. Got what you need inside :)

Has an awesome splash pad for the kids and cool kid buggies to rent for $5. Just as a warning though...you do not receive any refund for bringing the buggy back even though the sign says you do.

A dead mall one place opens two closes, too bad the lay out is nice but most stores will not have a full line of inventory.

Love that this mall is dog friendly!! Love that there is plenty of parking!! The shops and their staff are super friendly (except for H&M). There are many really wonderful restaurants to choose from. There are movie theaters and even the bathrooms are always clean and are next to the security office so they are safe. There is a Farmers Market every week and there's even a dog park and a vet's office here!! If you are an Apple person, the Apple store here is the best I've been too. (pretend I didn't say that, I like that it's not busy)

Staff is courteous and keeps this place nice and clean like you'd expect from an AMC. What I love about this location is when I came in earlier, I saw that place truly was an EO employer, which gives a boost to those thinking they're alone due to a disability or whatever cards they were dealt. Kudos amc 12.

So, the only day to go is Tuesdays. At least there is the farmers market. The only thing keeping that mall open is the Apple Store, the Movie Theater, and Cheesecake Factory. Not sure how they keep surviving.

I haven't had a bad experience here yet. I love the atmosphere. There's a lot of stores here: Barnes & Noble, Macy's, DSW, Apple, Victoria's Secret, H&M, Vans, Aldo, Charlotte Russe, Famous Footwear, Hollister, Sephora, Ulta, Claire's, Bath & Body Works and more! There's a lot of restaurants: Chili's, Cheesecake Factory, Macaroni Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, California Pizza Kitchen, PF Chang's, Jack in the Box, Panda Express and more! There's a food court area! Public Library right beside food court. You can find an AMC at the mall too! Tons of parking, security on segways, very clean common area. Only drawback are the bathrooms - I feel like there should be more. Nice place to take the family!
