The cake was just as I had in the picture. Everyone enjoyed it and was so shocked at how cool it looked. Love this place!!! The cake was for my daughter’s birthday….. I definitely won Mother of the year!!!!!!

Ordered an Italian rum cake for my daughter's birthday. Although they forgot to accommodate the chocolate shavings (special request), everything else was great. Very good cake! Looked good and was delicious. Ready on time for pickup with no issues and the workers are very nice!

My cake didn’t look good at all I asked for a Minecraft cake and they gave me a bigger cake than I asked for and literally did whatever they wanted . It’s not professional at all for $120 cake and all they have to do is make sure it’s like the picture, but it’s not what I asked for. I will not be returning to oteris on Cottman , even the front desk lady Kelly said to call and ask for her next time and tell her the ugly Minecraft cake so she can remember . They gave me a checker board , a wonky one at that.

Disappointed with the cake and the slices,50$ went to trash! The cake was dried no taste at all and the most important they weren’t fresh. This is the second time that I buy at Oteri’s and still the same.

They did great. For my own decorations for my cake and they made it exactly what I wanted it to be. For her to do it so quickly, it came out so great

Cake was beautiful. Prettier than I expected. Everyone raved about how delicious it was. Communication with Gina was great. She seemed to go above and beyond to ensure I got exactly what I wanted.

On the recommendation of a friend, we ordered a decorated sheet cake and cupcakes for a baby shower. It is the first time we ordered from Oteri's bakery on Frankford Ave.. Taylor, the employee, was amazing, and helped us through many choices. After looking through several books of pictures, Taylor showed us yet more choices from a small tablet. She seemed to know exactly what we were looking for, and after seeing several pictures we made our choice of a pink and gray elephant themed cake. For the cupcakes her suggestions of color and style were perfect. Upon returning to the bakery a week later to pick up our order, Taylor greeted us and remembered our cake. The cake looked exactly like the picture and was delicious. Taylor made this a fun process for us. Thanks to Taylor we will definitely use Oteri's again.

I ordered a "burn cake" for the Super Bowl and it did not burn fully. I brought it to the stores attention and they tried to imply I didn't burn it properly, when I specifically asked for instructions and followed them. Their resolution was to offer a $15 store credit only- I don't intend on using this bakery ever again.

Each time I've had something here it's tasted old and stale last year the gingerbread cookies were disgusting I used to order from the 5th st location but lives closest to the Mayfair one now I can no longer support this cupcake I got today was hard as a rock

This bakery is so awesome! I ordered my son's bday cake from here on a Friday for a Sunday pickup and it was ready, delicious and beautiful! I'd def order again!

The bakery is spotless and the staff here are wonderful ~ I just wish my selection of baked goods tasted as amazing as they looked on display. We have been to Oteri's on a few occasions in the past (mainly for the convenience of this location) and again, our choices were not satisfying. This time around we tried the powdered creme donuts and while they were filled with plenty of white, sweet creme...the donut itself was not fresh...maybe a day old? The cannolis were okay ~ the shells were perfectly crispy, lightly dusted with powdered sugar however they were definitely, disappointingly short on filling.

I spent $125 on a birthday cake. I gave them a picture of what I exactly wanted the cake to look like they took matters into their own hands decided to be lazy and not put the effort. Don't go here they are just overhyped . They will NOT do what you want . I ended up getting my money back which obviously anyone would do if they weren't satisfied. I will upload a picture of what I asked for and what I received.

Needed a cake for friend 60th birthday, there was 6 of us . We all enjoyed their cake ! Would get another cake from there

Love this place. Wanted a special cake for my Mom's big birthday party. Showed them a picture and they did a beautiful job with only a week's notice. Best butter pound cake. Friendly helpful staff did a great job! Would go there for all my cakes and their other stuff is all delicious!

Yet again they disappoint with their raw pumpkin and apple pies. Pumpkin pie had no flavor. Last time I tried their pies it taste chalky and raw. Cheesecake was not bad but the strawberry topping is disappointing ish they made a homemade compote. The cakes look great but after the pies I'm afraid to try them.

Tried to walk past a bakery today but just couldn't! Lol I miss living so close to real bakeries, so I just had to stop in again! I went a week ago and bought some cookies and a Butter Cake! Both were delicious, but the Butter Cake went fast especially since I wasn't the only one at the party that no longer lives in Philly! Today, I went in a browsed the selections and decided on a German Cheese Cake with Pineapple - both my Mom and I loved it! The young lady who waited on me was awesome, as well. Very helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant.

Horrible we asked for one cake and they charged 150 this is not what we got will never order again. The flowers on the second smaller cake we had to add them because the cake given to us was plain with nothing. Ridiculous how this company continues to sell cakes when they are not even fresh cakes.

Would give zero starts if it were possible. Ordered a cake with a photo of my daughter for her graduation party. When she went to cut the cake, the knife wouldn't go through. Turns out they left the plastic on. When we tried to take it off, it took all the icing with it. We were left with a very dry, icing less cake. We tried to salvage a few of the pieces that did have icing but only a few people ate it. Went back today with the remainder of the cake and the plastic backing to show them what happened. They claimed that since the cake had dark colors they had to leave the plastic backing on. They did not inform us of this prior to us purchasing the cake, and furthermore, who ever heard of such a thing?? What if a small child had choked in it? We've ordered cakes with photos from there before and they never had the plastic backing left on it. We gave them back 3/4 of the cake and they gave us $30 back out of the $60 we paid and said we could keep the cake. We left it there. Will not return.

I've gotten many cakes from Oteri's and they are good. This review was inspired by the service provided. I bought a cake for my cousins baby shower and needed help putting the Cake on the stand. Most places completely refuse to be responsible for that task. The ladies here went above and beyond to help me yesterday and I was elated! Service like this will have me return every time. Thanks again

I'm just gonna be completely honest with you guys this specific location doesn't even own an oven.. all of their baked goods are sent over from their other location so most of the items have been sitting a few days. It's not fresh at all and the taste is poor if you want bakery quality desserts that aren't mass produced go to holmesburg or haegeles.

BEWARE: Ordered cake pops for NYE and the cake pops were filled with MOLD. I have reported to health department.

This bakery is a nice bakery. It didn't stand up to the hype but it was pretty good. I was not floored by a great deal or a jaw dropping taste, however I would definitely visit again.

Wanted a treat, but this was terrible. The Oreo cake was not good. It was cold, dry and crumbling every time I tried to break off a piece. I had a danish before, same think- cold and dry. I have ordered cakes fresh, and they were much better.

This is the best bakery around with the best prices and the tastiest cake. Oteri's did such an amazing job on the cake for my sisters baby shower we didn't even want to cut it. We had so many compliments about the cake. Great job guys.

Otieris the old standby for great donuts and danish but the best thing is the birthday cakes. The bakery is awesome if you wanna have baked goods like when you were a kid this is the place to get them.

This was the first time here. Irene was so helpful and super nice as was her sidekick whos name i dont know but she was pregnant and still very pleasant after being on her feet allday.My cake was a 21st birthday cake for my son.It was exactly what i orderd and everyone loved it.I will definitely go there again.

Ordered a birthday cake for my wife! We cut the cake for our guests at the party! 1st thing we noticed the cake looked dry! Then we tasted the cake and it tasted like the refrigerator!!! The cake tasted like it was not fresh and stale! So when I returned the other half of the cake to Oteris for them to correct it, the owner was very rude! They did not want to compensate for the cake or even make me a new fresh cake! I do not recommend this bakery! Got my big sister her babyshower cake and cupcakes here. Lady at the counter was a great help. Price was resonable. Top layer cake was a bit dry and the bottom layer was moist.

Best in town, the cake I got for my best friend anniversary was everything. Yes I said it and it was all butter cream baby just the way I like it..... They never disappoint and always on time. Check them out ASAP and the price is great!!

Oteris will never see anymore business from me. I was JUST in there. Horrible experience. I'm in line. A person behind me. Lady walks right in and RIGHT to the front. They wait on her. Do not tell her to go to the back of the line. I was in shock. I mention there is a line and I'm next. Three ladies behind the counter look at me. The lady,who but in line, looked at me. Actually screamed at me that I'll survive or something wild. NOTHING was done. She was still waited on. I was in shock. I asked the ladies at the counter why she's being waited on when there's a line. They just stared. ..Live around the corner. There a lot. Never again.

Unfortunately I am not a fan of Oteri's and they are closer for baked good then any other store but I will go right pass them. When they first came to Frankford AveI was happy, I went there the first time loaded up on pasties got home wow these are not good, ok tried them two more time after that same thing I said well that's it for me. So a friend of mine would go there after he got off work knowing how I LOVE sweets! He's bring some I yeah where you get these he said up the street ,I said Oteri's on the corner? ok t let me try it it may be better nope ! But he liked it good for you just take them with when you go. So some time later year or so my amazing niece who live in another state sent for my birthday us guessed it a cake from Oteri's! It was delivered through one of those apps a Stawberry shortcake I was smiling because it came from her So I opened the box which by the way says OTERI's on it the strawberry's were bad this was at fist glance I said you have got to be kidding me I took several pics of it and sent them to her she was so up set, I asked when did she order it she she said I just did a little while ago I told here I was taking it back down the street to them I called them first explained This girl had the never to say the cake didn't come from them really so someone came and stole your box and printed out a receipt from your store Frankford Ave and delivered a cake! Is that what happened? So I took them the cake after I got off the phone. Told her to return the money back to my niece. She gave me a receipt saying the product was returned and I had to send to her to get the money back from what every company she used to ores it. I don't ha e the pic at this time I have gotten a new phone since

So I went in person to order a birthday cake I paid for it upfront The person help me suggested they would write happy birthday on the cake and add white roses. When I got there I noticed the cake was slightly damaged and there were no roses on the cake. If you get a cake from this place I suggest you do not pay upfront and you make sure you have ample time for them to get the cake correct

I am pleased beyond measure with my recent experience! On Jan. 28, 2019, I walked into the Frankford Avenue location with no real "plan" or "design" (heck, I didn't even have a color in mind...lol) for a cake for my good girlfriend's 50th Bday. However, the Oteri's staff were patient, understanding and helpful. On their iPad, I was able to browse several cake designs and I finally decided on the ombre rosette design that you see here. Lemme tell you how fresh and delicious that cake was!!! Everyone at my friend's party kept asking "WHERE" did we get the cake? This place is absolutely horrible and has quite possibly the worst cake decorator in the world! I ordered a cake a month ahead of time for a rustic themed baby shower I was throwing for my friend. I went to go pick up the cake and was literally crying! It looked nothing like what I asked for and I still got charged full price. They threw in a free cookie tray and said it's too late now so I have to make the best of it! $120 for absolute trash! The first pic is what I asked for and the other are what I got! Sloppiest work I've ever seen!

I ordered a cake back in November for my fiance, showed up on his birthday to pick it up & was nowhere to be found. Lady never put my order or misplaced it, I did speak with owner & they helped Me drive all over to atleast get a chocolate cake they hooked Me up So id figure to try the again now as of yesterday 6.18.16 my daughters 8th birthday cake. It was cute everything was fine until they couldn't even make it half vanilla half chocolate, I can not believe the issues I've had with this place & I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!! As popular as they are I never thought I'd have the mistakes I've had, never again will I be back & I'll be calling again today to speak with the owner !! & tons of people I know won't go here because of my issues not that a few customers matter but still !

I will get every cake I ever need from here! My first time going to Oteri's was last month when I ordered a "Monster High" cake for my daughters 6th Birthday. The customer service was great, they wanted every detail to be right and asked so many questions to make sure they got it right for her special day! I picked up my cake today and was over the moon! My daughter loved it and it tasted like heaven covered in fondant! Thank you so much Oteri's! Great work!

Top shelf bakery. Everything I have ever purchased from here has been delicious. From cannolis to cakes to breads. The hardest part is deciding..

Let me start with saying that the cake isn't bad. Especially if you get to st. Joseph's cake. That's sad, red velvet and carrot cakes are traditionally served with a cream cheese frosting. At this bakery that is not the case, it is buttercream. I don't really understand why they don't use the cream cheese frosting. Food otherwise is good, and service is good.

I Love This Bakery And The People That Take Care Of You!!! AWESOME everything!! And you can order in advance lunch meat trays!! All around GREAT PLACE!!! Thank You To The Staff!!

*CHECK PHOTOS FOR BACK TO THE FUTURE TIME CLOCK CAKE* So it pains me to do this, almost as much as it pained my wallet.. But, I feel the need to make people aware so the same thing does not happen to them. This local bakery has been up and running under a year, and we've given them a LOT of business. They're treats are delicious. So with always being pleased, I trusted them with the task of making my fiancé's cake. The first photo is what I emailed them, with a change of the names and numbers only. I said everything else should be the same. The second photo is what I got. And paid $100.00 for. Notice the major difference? Unlike the first photo, my cake had no color. Know why? Because when I emailed them the photo, they photo copied it in black and white. Must have never returned to the email for reference. They acted as if it was no big deal at all. And that's the reason they did it that way. (Not to mention the placement of the fondant, which the name "Johnny" is hanging off the edge of the cake.) Well.. I didn't pay $100 for a cake with no color!! But technically I did. And I was beyond furious. Especially because the show books they have of cakes they've made in the past look like terrific work. The amount of disappointment; I can't even describe. I could've made that cake myself and definitely should have. So unfortunately this bakery will no longer be given our business, and everyone should be warned of what may happen if you give them yours. :( :(

Very strange place if you want to get cinnamon buns. There is no knife behind the counter to cut the buns. What the girls do is grab the buns in their hands and tear them apart. So you wind up with squished buns, and depending on how it tears, not full pieces. I've been in dozens of bakeries, never saw anything like this. What kind of dufus runs this place?

I really love that this is a family owned business!! I also love that the people. Every time I ordered from here it's always fresh I Especially love that they take on challenging Cake designs i've had really good experiences with them and hopefully I get the chance to have many more !!!!!

Some of the staff here is very nice but most of the ones I've dealt with have been miserable and rude. With so many good bakeries out there The only reason I would go to this one is for mere convenience of its location. My daughters entire red velvet cake went right in the trash because of the nasty icing they put on it (it was suppose to be cream cheese but instead was this very sugary yet tasteless mess). I wouldn't buy a cake here for an occasion again, there butter cake is no good and their cake pops are tasteless, but there tiramisu is delicious I will give them that! Oh the carrot cakes disgusting too.

I get all my cakes and pies from here either for birthdays or holidays. I am always happy with the finished product. Taylor is the main person I deal with and I absolutely adore her. She helps me design the perfect cakes for my kids. I am never disappointed with the quality of the cakes.

I love Oteri's! I love the cannolis they make. their second location on Knights always offers fresh, crunchy cannolis. Try their Italian cookies too!

I decided to try Oteri's for my daughter 2nd Birthday cake and I was a tad bit nervous since my family has used a different bakery for years.. I went in there and probably spent about an hour with them searching the Internet for Ideas on a Minnie Cake. The lady was VERY patient! After we settled on something I provided a napkin for the colors and theme, we decided to switch a few things around from the pictures.. The day I picked up, it was quick and easy process. They bought the cake out and I was in love with how it turned out!! The cake was very moist for a pound cake and had a great taste! The only complaint I had was that the fondant #2 was cracked and ended up breaking before we got home. It was just easier to remove it instead of trying to fix it. I covered the hole with the Minnie Candle I purchased! You know it's a job well done when your walking out of the bakery and everyone stops you to look and say how beautiful it was!

I love Oteri's in South Philadelphia. This one sells stale donuts at fresh prices. I messaged them through Facebook with no response.

My favorite neighborhood bakery! I travel from Bucks County to Philly for their delish baked goods! Oteri's is the only bakery I trust with my special occasion cakes! I know the staff cares enough to make sure my order is perfect every time!!

Ordered 100 cupcakes for my niece's graduation party and was disappointed that the cupcakes I ordered tasted nothing like the ones sold in the store. They were pretty but the cake and icing were NOT tasty. Very disappointing.

This bakery is hit or miss. I have gotten baked goods that were good, others were stale. I hestitate to buy anything at this bakery for a gift.

Very pricy but good our wedding cake was nothing special but cost like 250$ when I mean nothing special it wasn't like it was one layer small triangle on top the bottom was pinapple filled very good sweet but not pure sugar butter cream ...but the price was way to high seems like when they no it's for a special occasion they Jake the price up I have been baking seven years not that I'm cheap it was a truly special occasion of love first time I just didn't see anything fabulous about it they did not even give me a bride and groom on top and wanted extra just for a flower on top like 50$ extra it's a wedding cake just one layer and a small square top because everything else was mores teramasu they could not do for a wedding cake witch is rediculous it's my wedding? Just do it lol like why are u telling me no it's cake anything is possible now if you don't want to that's a different story mind you my cake was my mom's present I was not even paying but the fact that it was plain and 200$ was very unsettling with me not for cheap sakes but for Pete's sake put something special on it lol I could of just made one? Very delicious I was just dissatisfied with there options price and the lady's attitude in general she kept saying no? Like if it's for just 20 people u don't need that cake like if I want it just make it ...so I got one mom pick pinapple inside witch cost more and just a plain square one with a tiny small square on top really nothing special for my first special day and way over priced good but too pricey for a plain cake and more $ for filling more if I wanted a topper? Crazy pricey as if on my day I have nothing else to pay lol just a thausands dollar wedding...lol

So this is the second year in a row we ordered a cake from them for my boss' birthday. Last year they spelled her name wrong after repeating it three times when we ordered. However, the cake was good. So we figured we would give them another shot this year. So we called and ordered a few days in advance. We specifically called and repeated the order twice. We ordered a cake and a cupcake. So we go in to pick it up and then tell us that we never came in to put down a deposit for the cupcake. NEVER ONCE were we told we had to come put a deposit down for the cupcake because it was specially made. The biggest issue is they just are rude about it. We ordered a $40 cake and $6.50 cupcake and they want a deposit for the cupcake. They have good food, but their customer service makes it just not worth it.

Stopped here by chance for cupcakes. I bought a few of what they call "mini cakes." I wasn't impressed. They tasted like grocery store cake. The icing was too sweet, yet flavorless. Now I know.

Decided to check this place out earlier today and ended up being super pleased. I usually go to Holmesburg Bakery in this area, but wanted to try something new. Got the German Cheesecake and the butter cake and WOW!! That was the best butter cake I've ever had. I'm a butter cake junkie so I was pretty excited after that first bite. So much so that I came here to give my first review lol. I didn't try the cheesecake, but my family said that was delicious as well. We will definitely be back!
