New York’s Other Half Brewing is coming to Chicago | Eater Chicago

"Brought in as part of the Ramova project, Other Half Ramova is positioned as a beer destination recruited by Tyler Nevius and will feature about 80 tap lines overall (roughly 20 in the taproom); I was told the team expects to focus on IPAs and lagers, will brew primarily to support the venue rather than to stock Chicago liquor stores, and will occupy a “super clean, modern looking” space with an all-glass back bar that replaces a second-floor gym while planning artist collaborations, mobile bars, phone ordering, and a neighborhood-forward approach to what they serve." - Ashok Selvam

Aww, this Other Half 'outpost' is so far from Brooklyn all the way out in Chicago, but good for them for dipping their toe in the crowded brewery market in this town. It did feel much more 'A Brewery attached to The Romova' than 'Other Half Romova,' so maybe their branding needs an upgrade. Pretty sure nothing on the outside said Other Half. Anyway, this brewery is fine. They have a bunch of their parent's beers from NY, and they brew around a half-dozen or so decent things themselves there. There was food, but didn't get any.

Awesome other half brewery taproom and restaurant. Good choice of beers on tap and loads of cans in the fridge. Didn't have food but lots of it was coming out and looked good. Had a chat with the owners, all very friendly and so were staff. Its a bit out from downtown chicago, but you can get the number 8 bus for £2 and it stops 100 meters from bar ( see photo )

Visited the tap room for the first time as part of an Illinois Brewing Series run. Great beer, great service. Beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy good beer and good company. Recommended.

When the uber dropped us off I wasn’t sure we were in the right place. No OtherHalf branding or signage at all, but once inside the taps were all OH. The bartender shared that other half had no ownership interest but was brewing for the theatre. Whatever the case it was my 5th other half location and although the presence was not a favorite, the beer was exceptional.

I love Other Half's beer but this is more of a full-service bar than a taproom. It makes sense since it's the defacto bar for the theater. With diverse crowds of all ages and preferences they need to cater to as wide an audience as possible. Unfortunately, the beer gets a bit buried in the menu and we had a hard time navigating it at the bar. The layout and space means tables are likely to be limited at peak times. We did find a narrow table in the corner and enjoyed a few excellent IPAs. The location is off the beaten path, near the White Sox park. Not too much around yet but the neighborhood serms to be up and coming.

Surely this place hiked prices early but they've responded well and everything here is fantastic. Totally worth stopping in. And yes, they do flights and they have select varieties in 4 packs to go for around $20! The chili was amazing. They aren't brewing in-house yet but they said they will be and they intend on lowering prices further.

Great neighborhood spot! The food (feat. the Duck Inn) some of the best brewery taproom food in Chicago. The tap list features NYC’s Other Half Brewing staples and some Chicago exclusives. Highly recommended.

Dropped in today to sample some beers after hearing that they adjusted their pricing. All the beers we tried were delicious - they specialize in hoppy, hazy IPAs. Space Diamonds, All Citra Everything, and 2nd Anniversary were standouts. It was a pretty chill atmosphere - modern, simple decor, great music, friendly staff. The kitchen opened up near the end of our stay - we didn’t order any food but the options sounded appetizing, so I look forward to eating on my next visit!
