"The Standard—a new collection of luxury condos in NOLA's South Market District—added Otra Vez, chef Akhar Nawab's latest restaurant to its ground floor last year. Signature dishes sourced from Nawab's beloved Alta Calidad, in Brooklyn, include a hefty sandwich of house-made chorizo, crispy Chihuahua cheese, charred ribeye, and fried egg; Mexican roti made with sunny side up eggs, chorizo, crema, and tomatillo salsa; and a tempura shrimp taco." - Andrew Parks

"Head to Otra Vez, the innovative Mexican restaurant on Julia Street, for brunch Saturdays and Sundays. For $29, you can enjoy an entree (asparagus enchiladas with black beans are so good) and one hour of drink refills, including margaritas, mimosas, bloody mary’s and beer). Prices are reasonable all the time - two local drum tacos with olive salsa and crispy shallots sets you back 10 bucks." - Beth D'Addono

My friends and I came for the bottomless bunch. We started with the mimosas, which are served like bottle service freeing up the wait staff, maybe a little too free because our waitress disappeared. We ordered a round of margaritas from the bottomless brunch deal when our food came out. Then again we didn't see her until she asked if we wanted dessert. I wasn't getting dessert but I would get another margarita and friends could enjoyed the dessert. There were no dairy free options so alcohol was for me. When we got the bill there was the bottomless brunch charge and then a separate charge for my second margarita ($13 bucks). When I asked the waitress why there was a second charge for the margarita she said at the bottomless brunch time was over when I ordered it. When I asked why she didn't tell me that at the time she just shrugged. Honestly there were other drinks on their menu that I would have tried, they have a frozen gin and tonic that sounds amazing and if I was going to pay for something outside of the bottomless brunch I would have gotten another drink on the menu if that option would have been provided to me. It seems like they might be trying to run out the clock by not being available with the bottomless brunch, as the restaurant was not busy. She did apologize and give us free drink tickets for next time but since we don't live in the area wasn't very helpful. The food that was okay I got the avocado toast which was a bit salty but if you pair it with the green chorizo it's a really filling delicious dish. I wanted the breakfast burrito but have a dairy restriction and it included cheese even though it's not listed on the menu when I asked our waitress she said that the cheese was mixed into the burrito and couldn't be removed so I'm guessing the burrito comes frozen...

New Mexican restaurant 😋 in my neighborhood. Great atmosphere to have cocktails and tacos! Music was good but the acoustic is noisy and can't hear myself eating chips and salsa. Overall, wonderful experience and our service was entertaining. The esthetics on point. I will be back to check the new menu next week.

Visited here and had an amazing time! Otra Vez is a hidden gem in the CBD and shouldn't be overlooked. The ambiance inside is perfect for a date night, birthday event, and everything in between. The bar is nice and large, perfect for those stopping by to check out their AWESOME happy hour specials (M-F from 4-6, $3 tacos and sides, $3 beers, $5 wines, Mexican roti flatbread for $11). Apps: Started off with the queso fundido guac, yucca tots. The queso had a surprisingly little sweet twist, which was unexpected but tasty. Guac had a little bit of a spicy kick to it. Yucca tots were also pretty delicious and a good starter option. Foooood: enjoyed the chicken tinga and baja fish tacos. Fish was fried but tasted delicious with the chipotle mayo. Chicken tinga was served with avocado in the taco that paired well with the chicken tinga. For those that aren't fans of tacos, they do have other entree options including chicken enchiladas, tostadas, and ceviche. Will definitely be returning for a date night sometime soon! Everything was delicious, and the staff was super awesome.

This place is definitely something to try out, especially if you live in the neighborhood. The atmosphere is very relaxing. The drinks are fabulous! One word of caution, the chicken tacos were very SPICY so if you’re not expecting it or prepared it will catch you off guard like it did me. I like hot food but it was out there, other than that. Everything else was fantastic, especially the service, show some love to them!!!!

Google
I am not even exaggerating when I say that I had the best meal of my entire life here. We were down in New Orleans for my 30th and we ate here. The tacos I had… nothing even compares to how amazing they were. The restaurant was beautiful and the staff really nice. I’m telling you, go try their tacos. It will change your life.

Google
This was really tough because the food overall tasted amazing and I also was 5 minutes late for my 6:00pm reservation for 2 on Valentines Day. But, since I worked in the service industry for 10+ years there are just some things that I hope my post will motivate on the service side. I was excited about an early reservation for dinner since we would miss most of the heavy foot traffic on the holiday. We were successful in this venture and we arrived to a restaurant that was barely 25% full. Once we were sat and settled we finally talked to our server 15 minutes later. Arriving with 2 glasses of champagne to smooth things over did help, but still wasn’t enough to make feel at ease. I’m sorry but waiting 10+ minutes with not a lot of people in the building never sits well with me. The second biggest issue was the menu, our only option was the V-Day pre-fixed 3 course meal. This was another blow as I took a lot of time scouting local menus for my gf since she is a vegetarian and has a severe gluten allergy. The pre-fix menu DID accommodate all of these things but was a disappointment not only to us, but for the staff as well. Our hostess (who was amazing and made our night) let us know that everyone (the staff) found out about this the day of as well. For one of the top 5 busiest days of the year for a restaurant there didn’t seem to be adequate staff around but the staff that was there did seem to be working as well as they could as a team. All in all, great food, but a very below average experience. If the kinks don’t get worked out I don’t see this spot making it thru the year with all the competition in this city. Overall I had to go with 2 stars, great food but overpriced, and I will give it another go after the busy season probably to try happy hour at the bar.

Very underrated spot.. solid tacos, great apps, and very good service. The interior was well designed and visually appealing. Overall an enjoyable meal and experience!

Yelp
bottomless Margaritas sounds tempting at the time but only had 3 and would've loved the buzz heading to day drinking but no bottomless, for us where we are from they serve you for an hour but that wasn't case here won't be coming back overpriced as well Place is nice just service was not it

Kassidy D.

Yelp
Loved this place, will definitely be going again. I went on a Friday night & it actually wasn't busy and there was a DJ. We started off with the queso and oysters, I enjoyed both but would be definitely be interested to try other appetizers. I ordered the steak tacos & was not disappointed. I'd order them again. My friend raved about the steak so safe to say it would be a solid choice as well.

Yelp
Ok we had a little rocky start with this place as we made a reservation a few weeks back but when we arrived there was a miscommunication And they thought we weren't coming so cancelled it and said they were closing. Was a little upset but decided to try again last night, and boy were we glad we did! My husband and I went in for a date night, which is a great spot for given the cool decor and low lighting. They originally sat us across from each other I'm one of those long booth settings, but when we asked to sit next to each other they didn't give us any trouble moving right away. We got several drinks, all of which were delicious! (See photos) and then we got the guacamole (huge serving, delicious, fresh) and queso (listed as fundido but it's definitely just regular more liquid form queso-very tasty nonetheless)-both were served with fresh warm chips salted well and with a little tajin I believe (loved this!). We also got the salad (yummy and fresh, not a huge portion but lots of goodies). Then we got 2 taco plates (each comes with 2 small but loaded tacos, no sides included though available for ordering a la carte)-the fried shrimp were delicious and crispy, not soggy at all, including the tortilla-think maybe they flash fry them for texture? And the beef tacos-holy moly, so rich and yummy. Overall, this is our new favorite taco spot! Great vibe, service, food/drink. Wish they were open later, that's our only complaint! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
This was my second time coming here and both times I have loved absolutely everything I ordered and so have the people I have been with. Today we hit them up for brunch. The vibe was really fun. The service was fantastic, Trey was so awesome! And the pacing of how everything came out from cocktails to queso to mains was great. Prices here are pretty fair too and there's a lot of easy access street parking around. I had the pina colada which for me is a drink that's actually easy to mess up if you're not at the beach. On the beach anything tastes good. But in the heart of Nola this pina colada was delicious! My friend got the Fantastia and liked it as well. He said it really packed a punch alcohol-wise. They were out of a few brunch items which was a bit disappointing because I was going to try the pain perdu. Instead I got the chicken tacos with rice and beans which I had the first time as well so I already knew I loved that stuff. The new surprising standout for me was the fried pita chips they serve with their spinach queso. I think this is the only place I've ever been too that served pita chips with queso and somehow I just worked amazingly. The chips were dusted with some sort of orange spice that gave them a little extra flavor and the queso was some of the best I've ever had.

Megan B.

Yelp
The drinks were tasty and pretty! I'm huge ceviche fan and was impressed with theirs. I really liked the added crab claws. They're a little pricey but the food was up to par and so was the ambiance. Our waitress was great and the manager checked on us to make sure our experience was going well.

Henry B.

Yelp
The theme and vibe of this place is everything. Queso and chips were perfect. We did steak tacos and fish full of flavor no disappointment. If you want a big portion go with the quesadilla they are pretty big and awesome. Of course we did the churros as everyone stated

Sarah O.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town and stumbled upon this place for Saturday brunch. Cute decor, lots of plants and high ceilings. Nice selection of food to choose from. Some breakfast items, tacos and other entrees. We ended up with the mimosa bottle service with 2 juices and started with queso. Which was quite good. All the food we got was delicious and our server was great.

Carl K.

Yelp
A good taco place with a good atmosphere It opened up recently after being closed for Covid and before you step inside, you can smell the heavenly scent of steak being cooked. Other than that, however, the place is okay for the price. The tortilla chips were a bit stale, and when my steak tacos came out, it was on the cooler side. The taco shells are also very thin for the amount of meat and stuffing they give you (which is a good thing!) - however, usually, places will give you two shells to compensate. I got the steak tacos and the oyster tapas. Both were just okay for the price.

Alexandra E.

Yelp
Very trendy restaurant in the CBD. Love their El Jardin margaritas, has a little spicy kick. Really enjoyed their improved queso dip, guac dip, and steak tacos. Will definitely be coming back! It was a great spot for a girls night dinner.

Yelp
We were looking for a brunch place on a Sunday. A place without a long wait line, with mimosas or bloody Mary, and with good food. By luck we found Otra Vez. We were just walking towards another restaurant and saw they weren't too busy. The place looked nice, well lit, clean, and inviting. So we grabbed a table and after looking at the menu we ordered. Unfortunately not everything was great. Coffee - they only serve french press, so we ordered one for the table. That was awful! It was like dirty water and grainy. No flavor at all. And not hot. Dishes came out and non of them was hot. Lukewarm at best. As my meal I got the Breakfast Quesadilla. It was good but not amazing! I would have like more flavor, especially from a Latin kitchen. Now, the rice and beans I asked for on the side were delicious! And so was the Mexican Rotini my boyfriend ordered, which was also a generous portion. The huevos divorciados was the winning dish on the table. That was also a big portion and full of flavor. I recommend ordering that 100%. Their Bloody Mary was good but missing garnishing. Presentation is part of the fun of ordering this drink. So, some hits, some misses, but glad we were able to find a place to sit down, eat and be in and out quickly.

Michaela B.

Yelp
We went to otra vez and enjoyed the majority of our meal. They have an extensive tequila and mezcal menu, which was lovely and the cocktails were delicious and well thought out. The queso and guac were great and the salad was nicely dressed. Our least favorite part of the meal were the tacos, they were under seasoned and would have been nice with additional salsa and thicker/ double tortillas. We can't wait to come back to try other dishes!

Tomas R.

Yelp
I'm certain I've written a review about this place so I'm kinda shocked this is now just coming to fruition. I've had the chance to dine here a few times and I thoroughly enjoy the food and ambiance here. From tacos (the crispy cheese on their steak tacos!!!!) to their queso fundido (the honey and pumpkin seed touch is solid), they have some great food options. I really enjoy their tequila and mezcal selection and their paloma is done properly. The staff here is super friendly but it's really exciting to have a chef from New York so invested in the New Orleans culinary scene. Happy Hour is everything here and you HAVE TO take advantage of it. They don't mess around. But I have to tell y'all... don't ever, EVER, come here and not grab the churros. They're a must.

Zach W.

Yelp
Biggest challenge you will have here is deciding what to get. The brunch menu is amazing and everything looked amazing. Ultimately I landed on the breakfast burrito. Yum! Chorizo was what won me over. My friend got the chilaquiles which also looked to be on point. Presentation was great and the inside had a great vibe. Of course what is a brunch without a cocktail. El Jardin for the win. French press coffee so I could stay awake for the day after all the food.

Jay T.

Yelp
I'll start off with this review by the location of this restaurant. The area of this area is nice, clean, and safe. The atmosphere once you walk in is awesome! I began my night by starting off with a little alcohol, the Palmoma Welcome Punch was a nice smooth punch! The Drifter is also a nice drink as well. Appetizer: Guacamole 3/5 Dinner: ACTQ Tacos Steak Barbacoa 1/5 Baja Fish Tacos 5/5 - one of the best tacos. Chicken Tinga Tacos 3/5 Cauliflower Tacos 5/5 - one of the best tacos. Dessert: Churros 3/5 - the syrup with the churros are delicious. Would definitely come back again!

Yelp
Coming from Texas to celebrate 4th of July here and New Orleans.Did some research about this restaurant and we give it a try.Location Amazing and environment pretty cool. We reserved a table for 10 ppl and Peyton (server) took "care of us. Mind you she was the only server for 10 tables. Of course what can you imagine? A completely mess. Stating that she was being so demanding asking us for drink every 2 minutes while we were waiting for the rest of the group. She had an attitude since it got busy and just start giving faces. When it came to the check, they charged us a ROOM fee? Wow, we were literally seating next to people so it wasn't next to people. I cannot explain you how bad my party felt after all the bad experience. Please do you a favor and don't come to these place.

Ashley D.

Yelp
Seriously one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in NOLA. I came around 4:00pm (right when they open) because we were going to eat and head to a concert. We were the only table that was in the restaurant, yet we were never checked on, we had to ask for our waters to be filled, and wave down the waitress for anything. I got the steak tacos, and the steak was extremely over cooked. The guacamole and salsa were okay, pretty good but nothing mind blowing. But the MAIN kicker is that we were overcharged for EVERYTHING. The guacamole was listed as $13 on the menu, and we were charged $17. We were also charged for extra chips, which is fair I guess. caught it before we paid luckily. But after we had left, I checked the receipt and she had over charged us for all the tacos. The steak tacos were listed as $13 on the menu, and we were charged $15. We got multiple orders so we didn't notice at first. The We were charged $14 for the fish tacos that were listed as $12 on the menu. When I brought up the overcharged guacamole the waitress had the nerve to have an attitude with me like I couldn't read the price on the menu. Seriously, worst service I have ever experienced. And, they seriously try to scam you out of money. Never returning.

Mary M.

Yelp
Rude! We made a reservation. Paid for parking. Showed up 10 minutes before said reservation. Pulled in the doors 3 times. Despite being seen by whomever was inside, the doors remained locked during the posted hours open, 10-2 on a Saturday morning, and no one ever came to the doors. We will not return.

KC C.

Yelp
What a great spot. We had brunch here and I loved it. The atmosphere is light and hip. The guacamole is fresh and the queso is on point. It is a bit on the pricey side, but I expected as much given the location. The portion sizes were very different. The chilaquiles were huge, where the tacos (same price point) were just 2 tacos, no sides. Word of advice, the bacon has syrup on it?!??

Etienne T.

Yelp
A good indication of a poorly run Mexican restaurant with $15 tacos is being closed on Taco Tuesday. Another one is a host who makes customers feel unwelcome. Let me say that 100% we support businesses with strict Covid masking policies that is no issue. The problem is when the person enforcing it sternly with customers is standing next to a hostess without a mask, with a bartender without a mask and two chefs|cooks without a mask...to make things worse he greeted two youngsters as the left maskless with a "goodnight treasures". It was meant to embarrass us, nothing less. We have a couple $100 gift cards from there we were given when moving into the Odeon and we have absolutely no intention of ever using them if anyone wants them . This place seems to be targeting a 20 something crowd....known for their disposable income vs 50 something empty nesters who eat out 4-5 times a week (that is who we are).

Nick W.

Yelp
Always a great experience whenever I go. Ricky, the General Manager, is always a delight. His staff is amazing and attentive. This visit he suggested a new fried taco that the his staff developed for the menu. It was so good. Think a beef dip, but make it a taco! If you haven't been yet you have to try it!

Sophia T.

Yelp
Such a beautiful space in the new Standard building. Would be a cool place to grab drinks and hang out. Service was amazing, but the food was lacking. Everything needed sauce, extra seasoning, or something to turn it up a notch. I tried all 4 of their tacos (steak, tempura shrimp, mushroom, drum). Each dish ranged from $10-12 and came with two per order. My favorite was the tempura shrimp. It was fried well and had the most flavor. The steak was dry and not tender at all and they gave a lot of it. The mushroom taco was deconstructed and you have to put it together yourself. The drum was also dry and flavorless. A little hot sauce could have made each of these dishes a little better. Octopus botanos - came with potatoes and poblano rice. Large pieces of octopus, rice was tasty. Cauliflower app w/ salsa seca - roasted cauliflower, had good crunch to it. Salsa was creamy and just okay, not enough flavor. Not something I would order again. Not sure if I'd come back any time soon with all the new restaurants opening around the city. So much food to try, too little time to come back to places that weren't absolutely amazing.

Theresa K.

Yelp
Went here to HH and sat at the bar. Seth our bartender was amazing, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. I started with the house Margarita, and ordered the ceviche and shoe string fries. The ceviche was fresh and filling would definitely go back just for the ceviche alone! I wouldn't ordered the shoestring fries again. The flavor was great but they're too small for my liking. Seth recommended the chicken tacos I was skeptical because I never order chicken tacos. Also, ordered the steak tacos. Happy I decided to trust Seth because the chicken tacos were great!! In the end I actually like them more than the steak tacos. If you're in the CBD would definitely recommend you stop by, you won't be disappointed.

Kelsey J.

Yelp
Food has definitely changed. "Queso Fundido" is just a basic white cheese queso with no chorizo. Guac was good. Service & atmosphere is stellar!

Liza S.

Yelp
OK Y'ALL GET OVER TO THIS PLACE. Cute decor, creative presentations, unique flavors, and noteworthy food. What we had: -queso fundido: 7/10 - not spicy and too oily -chilaquiles: 10/10 - I don't know how to explain this other than WOW -oyster mushroom tacos: 5/10 - too salty and not great flavors -octopus and pork belly: 9/10 - octopus was great but pork belly was a little tough -spring pea tostada: 9/10 - super creative and yummy but was left waiting for the punch of flavor I want to come back and try even more! There are so many menu items left for me to taste. For such a new restaurant, they did a great job and were incredibly receptive to feedback.

Vince P.

Yelp
Great food and flavor. Portions are well sufficient and the prices are reasonable. Would come again.

Tomi G.

Yelp
The drinks were delicious! The music was good and it was a cute scene. I was seated where I could see the street from the glass windows while enjoying my company. The tequila options were endless and I thought that to be super impressive! I would deff come back for a bar date!

Yelp
Hello, If I could, I would choose zero stars. I don't know if anyone will actually read this, but I wanted to express my disappointment with management for Otra Vez on 5/5/22 in New Orleans. My friends and I live in New Orleans and I have friends in town, who I brought with me last night. Ricky E., who is apparently the general manager, was extremely rude and disrespectful. We arrived, with no reservation, hoping to see a friend perform as DJ for the evening. Our plan was to go to the bar and enjoy the music, which is what New Orleans is known for and built upon...good food, good drinks, good music and COMMUNITY. Ricky E was not happy that we were there without a reservation and would not let us order from the bar. We understand the current challenges the restaurant business is facing and we are sympathetic to that. However, treating local New Orleans patrons with rude and blatant disrespect is something that will not carry well in this city. Granted, we did not have reservations, but we were also willing to wait for a table, or just order some drinks at the bar, so we could support our friend. We were also looking forward to enjoying the food and drinks at Otra Vez as this was our first time visiting the restaurant. Ricky E. did not allow us either option. He also threatened to call the police when we called him out on his attitude. I have NEVER been so disrespected in my life. We left without incident, but word of mouth is a powerful thing, and we will use that power to make sure Ricky E.'s name is known and that no one I know nor any of my social media followers visit the restaurant again if ever. We love New Orleans, we love its people, and we love its culture. Ricky E. clearly does not nor does he understand what this city is about. Thank you for your time. Charlene

Yelp
Otra Vez is a very swanky, innovative Mexican restaurant located in the Market District. Street parking is certainly required but it is very easy to find around this area. First off, their drinks are very potent, especially the most recent time i went. My drink was called the Agua Fresca and it was superb! They also make mocktails as well. I ordered their Mexican street corn, rice and beans, yuca tots, chicken totstada, and their crab tostada. Their portions are very small, and I was left content, yet I could still eat more! Their rice/beans side dish is highly recommended! It is flavorful and very addicting! I expected the Mexican street corn to be cut up but it was served on a cob! It was delicious because the sauce drenched on the cob just made it so savory! Tostadas are VERY small, but the presentation is on point. They appear like high-scale bite sized nachos with a bunch of goodness loaded on top of it! Yuca tots were also very bite-sized and scrumptious! I heard there is a happy hour and their churros rock! So I definitely have to come back for all this goodness again and I hope you guys do too! :)

Lynn W.

Yelp
Margaritas on the ROCKS with a great happy hour from 5p-8p. The parking isn't terrible and the MOOD in there is chill. The tacos are $3 during happy hour, so now it becomes a SMOOD! The space is beautiful and clean. Not super busy at the taco bar or regular bar, so I plan on coming back with friends and making it a girls night out!!!!

Greg T.

Yelp
Stopped by Otra Vez for happy hour after walking by it several times. I thought the food was great. The queso was different being a little sweet and with the type of cheese it was but still good. The fish tacos with the salsa verde were some of the best I've ever had. The crab tostada was also delicious. The only downside for me was the service. We were treated as if we were the biggest inconvenience to have come in and sat down at the bar. There were no other patrons when we walked in so they weren't busy. That level of service continued the entire time we were there and was very off putting. I would return and try sitting at a table because the food was good enough for a second chance but would avoid the bar service or go elsewhere.

David P.

Yelp
Lovery upscale Mexican cuisine within a short walk from the Hyatt Regency. Wonderful cocktails and excellent Mexican fare including tacos. A little of the more pricey side but delicious.

Brandon P.

Yelp
Stooped in here again recently to discover they hired a new manager. The service was fantastic, drinks were great, music was lit. Can't wait to see what the future hold for this hidden gem!

Nazary N.

Yelp
So I have to start the review by saying that I definitely came here in a bad mood (after having an unpleasant flight cancellation experience) so I didn't approach it with the best energy. But by the time I left I had (almost) forgotten my troubles. It started off on an odd foot because we made a reservation and when we arrived the host pointed to a table and told us soon as it was cleaned it was ours. He then promptly gave it to another couple. It was just a weird note - why even point to a table? But we were sat shortly after and started the service. The waitresses was a big ball of energy that just hit our table and we weren't ready for it. Thankfully she could read that we were tired and toned it down and provided great service. I looked over the drink menu and didn't see anything that I'd like (not a big tequila person and the one vodka cocktail had spicy pepper in it which I don't care for) but my girlfriend ordered the drink and enjoyed it. I opted for a simple negra modelo but enjoyed how it was delivered with a tall frosty glass rimmed with a lime. It's a small thing but I think it speaks to the restaurants desire to make common place things you've had before stand out. On that point - the food! We started with the guacamole, which was simple and delicious, that came with a side of guajillo salsa that I was a big fan of. If I had to describe it the salsa was like if ketchup grew up and got a graduate degree. It was delicious on every dish we ordered - and I put it on all of them. Next we split an order of the steak and mushroom tacos. Both were delicious with the steak really living up to the char in its name. The mushroom tacos were funny because you had to stuff them yourself but as a big fan of mushrooms I enjoyed them a lot. I also felt it was a sizable portion that would make anyone trying to avoid meat quite happy. Next we got the pumpkin blossom quesadilla with the side of yuca tater tots and wouldn't you know we really liked those too. I liked how the quesadilla let some of the pumpkins sweetness come through going really well with the chile. I'm not a big quesadilla guy but this one was incredible. The yuca tater tots were little fluffy clouds of fried goodness. To top it all off we got the coconut sundae (with sesame brittle, bananas, caramel and chocolate drizzle) and it's probably the best sundae I've ever had. It was really good - sweet and flavorful without feeling decadent. Hard to believe the ice cream is made without milk. I'd come back just for dessert honestly. Be warned - they only have coffee at brunch so if you're the kind of person who like coffee with their dessert prepare to be disappointed. Overall I felt like I had a great meal for a great price. The location is a little awkward but I'm sure I'll be back and I've already started recommending it to friends. Otra Vez? Claro que si.

Yelp
My favorite taco is their crispy shrimp! I also enjoy going there with friends and sharing the taco platter. You get to choose three to four different types of tacos with 12 total tacos to eat. I haven't been for brunch but it's definitely on my list!

Yelp
Not a Mexican place at all....bullshit, whatever you ask they don't have it. It's American food and vibe

Yelp
We had the best Mother's Day/ birthday brunch for a party of 5! Making reservations was easy. The service was excellent and our food was outstanding! The decor and ambiance was perfect for large groups or couples. The Bottomless Brunch Special with a choice of 4 unlimited drinks including Mexican beers for an hour, with an entre was a best value and recommended. (40$) As another restaurant in a sea of culinary excellence that is NOLA. This restaurant stands out in front and I highly recommend it.

Yelp
I stopped in just for a drink, and my expectations were exceeded (I'm not the easiest mixed drink critic)! I had an OV Margarita (the classic rocks margarita) to start off and it was tastey and strong. For my second drink, I ordered the El Jardin and...it's basically a margarita with a splash of freshness from cucumber plus a hint of spice and a splash of awesomeness. It will definitely be my go-to at Orta Vez. Can't wait to go back and try the tacos! Also, the bar tender was super friendly!

Yelp
This man has a gift from god. This food was so good, I nearly cried. I had chilaquiles and pancakes, with french press coffee.

Yelp
Went for a recent business lunch. Initial hiccup - with the fellow who met us at the door and seated us being rather rude - was made up for with some inventive and delicious food, and very good table service. Chips and salsa are *both* very odd (chips were just 3 large crispy tortillas that had to be broken into pieces at the table, and the salsa was more like a salty dark red mole sauce). Everyone in the party agreed that everything else we tried was very good: charred steak taco, crispy tempura shrimp taco, cheeseburger, and I forget what. Need to go back and try the drinks.

Yelp
The Guacamole is a must, let's just start with that! Dined at Otra Vez on a Sunday so we got to enjoy their Brunch menu. I sipped on their fresh squeezed orange juice and also had the Chicken Fried Steak Torta. This was really good, I recommend. Also enjoyed at the table was the Hamburguesa and an order of Tacos. The restaurant is very comfortable and the decor is inviting. Our server was attentive and friendly. Great location and easy parking. Note: Very Large Parking Lot right across the street.

Yelp
host/ bartender is the rudest dude ive ever met especially here in NOLA where everyone is generally pretty nice. asked for a check, didn't answer so i said hello to get his attention. dude said "i heard you but i just ignored you"....lol anyhow, food is mid. dont recommend if u want your day to be pleasant :)

Yelp
Nice people and a great vibe but the guacamole was bland, pulpo was inedible and the worst Chile rellenos I've ever had (even my own were better). Perhaps Mexican food is not what you seek in NOLA? At least they removed the pulpo from our bill. :)

Yelp
I had the best cup of French press coffee I have ever had! The fish tacos and the chicken tacos are super flavorful. The ceviche has real crab claws in it. Great flavor with a little kick and tons of seafood! And don't leave without trying the churros! So fluffy and the chocolate sauce is to die for! I would highly recommend!

Yelp
Cute place with lots of light and great staff. Stopped in for a quick snack, got the green beans which were delicious with fresh lime. The queso fundido was sooo fancy and the best presentation. It had honey on top and was a lovely take on cheese dip. Would definitely go back to get the tacos.

Yelp
The food was AMAZING, I gobbled the tacos up!! Music was on point and the mocktails are awesome!

Yelp
First time going here so I didn't know what to expect. You walk in and immediately you are drawn to the aesthetics. Really loved all the plants by the bar area. We didn't have a reservation but thankfully we got a seat at the bar. We went during happy hour and my friend got the frozen prickly pear margarita and she loved it! Unfortunately the food did not match the rest of the hype. Small portions,we both got tacos (about 2 per order and like $15) and chips and queso was separate , both didn't really have much seasoning or flavor. Really wanted to like this place because it was so cute.

Yelp
The food was decent, but not as good as it used to be, mediocre. The service was legitimately insane. Our server only brought half the table drinks twice, as many times as we ordered; and then took 35 minutes to deliver another - oh wait, kidding, it wasn't delivered - someone from our party had to go to the bar to get it, and the bartenders then rolled their eyes as if WE were the issue . It was truly the worst service I've experienced anywhere. Will never go back

Yelp
This restaurant is totally underrated! I've been twice and have had a delicious experience both times with minor exceptions. It's a great spot to go before a Pelican's game bc it's an easy walk to Smoothie King Center. Drinks are solid here, atmosphere is quite lovely with the huge ceilings and lots of greenery! Service is great, the seasonal menu changed almost completely between the several months since I've been. Last time we tried almost everything and the stand outs were a chickpea tostada with kale (sounds basic, but it was one of my favorite items!), the pumpkin quesadilla, and the octopus on squid ink risotto. Like so good I distinctly remember those three items off the top of my head. None of these were on the menu tonight, unfortunately! Tonight, we had the market ceviche with fried yuca chips which was delicious, though there was a hint of something bitter which I could not put my finger on, but still fantastic. The Mexican street corn hit the spot as well. It's one of my favorite things to eat in general and they did a great job on that! We also ordered the cauliflower tacos, which were good enough, and the grilled carne asada (cooked almost to perfection!) which came with disappointingly bland rice and beans. But I'm such a fan of Otra Vez, I thank them for me not wanting to load up on carby beans & rice. So that brings is to MY ONLY COMPLAINT: they do not make their own hot sauce/salsa picante! I asked for hot sauce and was brought a near-empty bottle of Tabasco which was already turning brownish from old age. Thumbs down on that one and between the rice & beans and hot sauce issue, I took off one star. How can they not make their own spicy sauce?? It's Mexican food! It begs to be kissed with fire. The waitress suggested we write a letter bc they get this complaint all the time.
