"A piece of Bavaria inside Portland, Otto & Anita’s offers eight different types of schnitzel alongside bratwurst, dill pickle soup, and other German classics. Make sure to save room for one of Anita’s desserts at the end of the meal, which includes tiramisu, cobbler, apple strudel, and lemon cake. Hand-painted walls, red-clothed tables, and an overall cottagecore vibe complete the picture." - Rebecca Roland, Nick Townsend, Thom Hilton

Went here with a class from PCC, the service was very professional and organized. Beautiful paintings on the walls and a really nice feel to it. The only complaint I can think of is that it is literally impossible to find vegan options. I couldn't find a single food or dessert item that was vegan. If you are a fan of meat and wine, and have a huge sweet tooth for desserts, this is the place to go. Probably the most authentic German food I have ever found.

Friendliest service in town made the meal standout. Everything from schnitzels to strudels is made and served with TLC. Shout out to Lisa for making us feel welcomed and a part of the family. 😉

This is exactly what you want to bring you back to Germany. The restaurant is beautifully designed and has memorabilia and art work all in the interior. Food is excellent and is a good portion all while being served by the extremely hospitable family who owns it. They have pastries upfront to buy upfront made by Anita. We don’t have many places like this left, go and enjoy. Parking can be a problem but look around and you will find something

My husband services the dishwasher here and saw that they served Dill pickle soup. Knowing my love of all things pickle, he brought some home to me as a surprise. When I tell you, I giggled with excitement after my first bite! It is so delicious!! The color is a crazy green shade, and the flavor is so light but packs a punch. The curry is also very flavorful and thick in texture, which is my personal favorite. I can't imagine how amazing it tastes fresh. If you are in the area, I'd highly suggest stopping in. I know i will be making a trip out there one weekend soon. Thank you, Anita&Otto!

Absolutely amazing. Every bite of it. The schnitzel was crispy o. The outside, tender on the inside and exploding with flavor. The atmosphere was relaxing, intimate and filled with beautiful art and German decor.

Such a great experience here. Lisa was so kind and attentive. The food was incredible. The ambiance is so cozy. We got the German Combo with cream of chicken soup, the Jägerschnitzel (chicken instead of pork) with the dill pickle soup, and finished with marionberry cheesecake. Everything was so delicious and the portions were perfect. We felt so welcome here and can't wait to return!

The hostess/waitress was so charming. She ran everything with efficiency & charm. The dill pickle soup was awesome. The potato salad was yummy, as was the bratwurst. The food was traditionally German with drinks to match. They also had baked goods to purchase and daily specials.

Surprising spot tucked away on a triangular block. Basement location that you could miss. Wasn't greeted on entry, but assume that staff is multitasking always. Looks like a group meeting room just to the left inside the doors. Lots of desserts out front. Waited at entry to the dining area and was seated soon. Murals on the walls are fun to see but don't expect window seats since this is below ground. We had a schnitzel sausage combo plate. Pickel soup was comforting and surprising. Braut, potato and carrots were fine, schnitzel was dry. German chocolate cake was pretty tasty. Since it is a drive to get there we will probably not make the trip as often. Attentive service from seating to check.
