Otto & Anita's Schnitzelhaus

Oh my gosh. Such a delicious meal! I got the combination plate and the schnitzel was so flavorful. I've heard good things about the dill soup and it did not disappoint! We finished our meal with eclairs to go. My boyfriend and I both agreed it'll be hard to try something new because we both loved what we got! Can't wait to back!

I shouldn’t be telling other Portlanders about this hidden gem German restaurant as I want them all yo myself (ha!), however I want them to continue to thrive as a business … Tucked away in Multnomah Village, this is the genuine real deal for German food. A cozy and homey feel to the restaurant, and a friendly staff, it truly makes you feel welcome coming here, and you’ll be glad you made the trip. I’ve had their schnitzel, which is always superb, and you must try their dill pickle soup as well…I usually don’t have any soup green in color, but don’t let the looks fool you, the taste is out of this world. Their entrees come with freshly baked rolls as well. For all you liver & onion fiends like myself, theirs is perfectly seasoned….something that is rather hard to find these days at other restaurants. All in all, a perfect way to end your day with a satisfying German dinner at reasonable prices and a super friendly staff!

Oh my goodness! My boyfriend and I came in for dinner after driving by so many times. He was stationed in Germany and mentioned missing the schnitzel and we decided to pop in. The pros: -fantastic service -fantastic food- we got the pickle soup (a must!), the rahmschnitzel , reisenschnitzel and currywurst to share. I imagine any of their schnitzel options are amazing however I can definitely recommend both of these - the dessert choices - delicious. Save room for it! Cons: -the only con is parking but don’t let that deter you from coming in, just be sure to leave a little earlier than you planned if you have reservations. We will absolutely be back, we had a wonderful date night and the food & service is fabulous. Thank you for having us <3

What a great place! We stopped here for lunch finally and will definitely be back. I first discovered this place after having visited Germany and looking for good schnitzel here at home. The hours are a lil weird with our schedule, but we finally made it! This place is as close as I've found to what we enjoyed over seas. We got all 4 of the lunch schnitzels. They're half orders and a lil smaller. So, it was perfect for the three of us. The dill pickle soup is excellent and the house-made Radler... Wow! Everyone over here wants to add juice to their radlers, but in Germany they add Sprite and that's really tough to find over here for some reason... Anyway, Otto and Anita do it right. The atmosphere was cute and homey. There was plenty of seating, but maybe not plenty of parking. We got a lil creative. We were too full for dessert, but it looks delicious. We'll definitely be back.

My Wife finally remembered to bring me here for her birthday. It was such a joy. The food was rustic, real, and amazingly good...I simply adored their gurkensuppe! The atmosphere, those close in was not claustrophobic at all and had a sense of comraderie not often seen when dining out. Most everyone in the restaurant, staff and customers joined in to sing Happy Birthday to my Wife and another young Woman as well. It really was just a lovely evening, excellent food, attentive and responsive service, beautiful atmosphere.

Staff was very friendly and attentive. I had the chicken swiss and it blew me away. Chicken was flavorful and moist. The swiss had a great cheesy funk that went really well with it. You also have to try the dill pickle soup. It was a sensory experience and very good. I would love to come back and try out some more dishes. Highly recommend this place.

This place is great! The food was unbelievably good! And it was very reasonably priced, with great service and quickly served food! The restaurant had old-world atmosphere and a large selection of baked goods. Also the dark beer was awesome, so I'massumingthe others were good as well! The parking is tight, but that seems the case for many places in the area. I would recommend to all my friends!

Wow honestly blown away at how great this was. The dill pickle soup is a must if you come here! Free warm bread with homemade butter was great. I suggest getting the Kaiserschnitzel as a main dish. Service was also wonderful. I had zero complaints
