Unfortunately, the pizza was burned and tasted bitter. I’ve ordered from Otto many times at different locations, and this was not the usual quality.

Visiting Brookline and ordered delivery from Otto got the gluten-free pineapple and bacon pizza and added chicken. Super tasty and fresh! Everything came hot and the crust was great. Definitely hit the spot!

Meatballs and pizza slices are fabulous! My favorite pizza is the butternut squash. The sodas are the best; the flavors rotate often. Try the blueberry or root beer. July 7, 2022: I noticed that the special sodas are gone and have been replaced with more commercial sodas.

Great Gluten free crust! Clear menu and delicious vegan cheese!

I purchased 2 pizzas on gluten free crust. People rave about Otto pizza, but I must have caught them on an off day, because while I love the array of toppings I can choose from, it was just good not great. It did arrive nice and warm, which is more than I can say for my last pizza delivery that was from a location much closer. One order was wrong, and the other was not right either, and one side of the bottom of the pizza crust was charred- and not the nice pizza char, but had a burnt taste. What was supposed to be a 4 cheese pizza with extra sauce butternut squash and roasted garlic instead had ricotta and parsley. The pepperoni pizza had the mushrooms, but almost none, and only one one side really when it was supposed to be the entire pizza. I was wondering if they ran out but didn't think to call and tell me and ask if I wanted something else. The delivery driver also went to an address down the street. All he had to do was keep driving straight down the street as he was on the street. Told me it took him to another address on the same street. I told him to keep driving straight. It was super weird. I felt like he was filling in for someone else, maybe? I emailed about what happened and haven't heard back from them. Variety is the spice of life, so go, but be mindful what you paid for may not be what you get.

We’re visiting from Florida, but all of us have such a love for Boston and were so excited to finally be here. After driving 5 hours (with traffic!) from Philly, we checked into our hotel and looked for something nearby to eat. Otto’s Pizza by the Armory Street stop seemed like the best option, we walked about 12 minutes, and now I can truly say it was worth every step. The food was great, the view was nice, the game was playing on the TV, but what really made the experience special was Jose. Otto’s isn’t a full-service restaurant — it’s more of a kiosk setup and Jose was the only person working the front. He was taking our order (for 11 people — two families!), helping with drinks, answering questions, and doing it all with such patience and kindness. You could tell he genuinely cared about making sure everyone was taken care of. At one point, my dad’s pizza was taking a little longer, and Jose came over and gently said, “I’m so sorry! we were out of pineapple, so I ran to the store really quick to get some.” My dad told him he didn’t have to do that, that we could’ve picked something else, and Jose just smiled and said, “No, it’s honestly one of our best pizzas, and I really wanted you to try it.” That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. He didn’t have to do any of that, but he chose to and it showed just how much pride he takes in his work and in treating people well. Also, a big shoutout to the person working hard in the back making all the fresh pizzas and everything came out hot, fresh, and delicious. Together, they made our first night in Boston feel really warm and welcoming. Thank you, Jose. You’re not just great at your job , you’re a genuinely good person, and we appreciate you!

We ordered take out. The pizza toppings are very eclectic! We ordered a pulled pork spicy pizza and green onion, as well as the mashed potato and bacon pizza. Also for good measure, a pepperoni and sausage. Excellent taste, nice thin crust, and good flavor. The pulled pork was also nice and spicy. Most places around here make their pizza really thin for some reason, must be a north east thing. Would recommend, the pizza options are great.

Ordered half-and-half mushroom manchego & herb and chicken & basil, two-cheese garlic sticks, and tiramisu. Everything tasted ok. For the pizza, the crust was crispy on the edge, but a bit soggy in the middle and the chicken lacked flavor. The garlic sticks didn’t taste like garlic at all. The tiramisu was delicious.

After a long and cold day of visiting colleges in the Boston area, OTTO was the perfect casual dining place to unwind with a fresh, hot, crispy thin crust pizza with a delicious tomato sauce and aromatic mozzarella cheese topping.

As a world renowned pizza connoisseur I'd only be able to bestow upon this establishment a food score of 3. At the end of the day it's pizza something so easy to make yet challenging to master. The sauce was lacking in balance holding itself much further acidic pH wise. Service though was spectacular, we were provided free waters and a great deal. Atmospheric conditions were more than optimal, an overall benefit to the environment and ambiance. Thank you Otto ( also pizza was floppy as hell and not developed to my standards or the standards set by brick oven style pizza )

There weren't many customers on this cold Thursday night, and the pizzas came out pretty quick once we ordered at the desk which was great because I was pretty hungry. Meatball ricotta basil pizza was soo so yummy. The sauce was a bit runny so I had to grab a fork to grab parts that fell off but it was still delicious. Would definitely recommend trying this flavor! Went with my vegan friend who said that Otto has done a better job at offering more vegan/vegetarian options than when he last went a few years ago. Nice to see more options available on the menu for sure. Thanks!

This was a delivery. And it was great! Also had ricotta/basil. Pepperoni pizza was very good; not too oily but dry either. Would recommend.

We always order Otto's! Excellent quality pizzas :) Accidentally ordered the double crust, but we enjoyed it! Super fluffy and delicious.

The pizza was just ok for the price...nothing to brag about. However, the tiramisu was good, and the staff was friendly.

POV: You're a BU student trying to save money and eat at the dining hall because you paid for a dining plan. You then walk on Comm Ave and smell a lovely slightly burnt pizza in the air. Your tummy grumbles. It's too late. You've already walked into the trap. Soon, you're 6 slices of mashed potato, bacon, and scallion pizza in and you're like... "I'll eat at the dining hall tomorrow." However, you never go back to the dining hall. You will eat OTTO forever. Soon, BU closes and what remains is you, OTTO, and your very satisfied stomach. tl;dr pizza tastes and smells yummy

Have walked by this place so many times since moving here and decided that I should probably try it at least once to see if it was any good. I am glad I did! Perused their online menu and noticed a number of, shall I say, "unique" pizza topping combinations before finding a couple that looked interesting to me. (I will say, if you are into unique offerings and/or need gluten free or vegan options, OTTO has plenty.) In the end, I settled on a pineapple, bacon, and hot honey 12" pie, which came in at just under $17 with tax. And, while I'm not likely to be able to pony up that kind of money every day I need lunch, I suppose that's not terrible for Comm Ave restaurants. The pizza itself was delicious! Loved the combo of pineapple, bacon, and hot honey! Though I make fun of the "unique" combos at OTTO, this one was surely a hit with me - and next time I've got my eye on the pepperoni, hot honey, and goat cheese pizza. OTTO was a pleasant surprise - easy online ordering, reasonable Comm Ave prices, and delicious pizza! Will be back.

We went here for just a pizza, and it did not go well. For a start, the entire interior is old, worn out, and needs remodeling. Later, we got our water in glasses and a larger pitcher to pour some more, which was nice, but unlike some others, I prefer to consume my food from a more clean environment, so we would prefer one use cups instead of the glasses. We ordered our pizza, and then they went forward and took our order. The wait time however was 25-35 minutes, which was outrageous compared to some other pizza places which take less than 10 minutes for a full custom pizza. When it did finally arrive, the pizza was tasteless and floppy, and completely unsalted, so we had to add salt manually. The crust was also rock solid and not chewable, and grease would drip out of the edge of the pizza onto my hand every time I took a bite. As for the price, it came out to be more than $40 for a small pizza and two additional slices with a lemonade, which is totally overpriced for the quality of the food and interior environment. Would not generally recommend, although the employees might have provided slightly better service than some other pizzerias.

Great takeout pizza for a night in with the girls! We ordered the: - Fresh Pineapple, Bacon & Hot Honey - Ricotta & Basil - Cheese bread - Pepperoni The ricotta is good if you want something creamy and the fresh pineapple, bacon and hot honey is sweet and spicy if you are a fan of pineapple.

Made a quick stop here and got the Hot honey cup and char pepperoni and goat cheese pizza. I'm not a big fan of goat cheese but my friends loved it. Never thought about honey on pizza but it was bomb. My favorite was the spicy pulled pork with scallion. It's so cheesy. Definitely coming back to try the mashed potato pizza. Service was ok.

Yes yes, quite yummy. Slices are large but thin, so two feels like the perfect amount if not a meat pizza. Delightful outdoor seating.

OTTO has been on my list for a while and I'm happy that I was finally able to give it a try. From best to just alright are: 1. Mashed Potato, Bacon, and Scallion: a really unique combination and taste exactly like a baked potato but way better. Points for originally and overall tastiness. 2. Spicy Pulled Pork, Sausage, Pepperoni: what I considered a "classic" pizza. What I expected from essentially a meat lovers pizza and it delivered. 3. Pineapple, Bacon, Hot Honey: this was my least favorite. Compared to the other two pizzas, it didn't hit the spot for a pizza. You get a wide range of flavors from spicy, sour, savory but still just meh. Definitely want to give their other pies a try next time I'm here.

Ordered a large pepperoni with pineapple pizza (if you don't like pineapple on pizzas, don't read this review because you don't deserve eating good pizzas). The order arrived promptly. The delivery guy was nice. The pizza was warm and fresh. The taste? Devine. Every bite felt like a festival inside my mouth. Uncontrollably my eyes were shut for every bite, and luckily I was by myself so no one could hear the embarrassing enjoyment sounds I made while eating.

Surprisingly good pizza for Boston. They have vegan options and the food comes out very quick.

I'm not much of a writer and do not do reviews hardly at all, but this BU OTTO location is too good to keep a secret. If you like pickup, take out, thin crust artisan pizza, then this is the place you want to try. I like to craft my own pie and these guys do it right every time. They also have a great menu to choose from. The staff is friendly and polite. The chef there obviously takes pride in their craft as the pizzas are consistently delicious, with evenly distributed toppings and consistent crust thickness. I like all OTTO Pizza locations, but I drive a little further for this one.

Visited for a concert and I figured why not try some pizza out! SOME OF THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD! I was extremely nervous of the time it would take to make the pizza due to the long line. My party however was able to get our order in reasonable time. We created our own pizza and it was to die for. Definitely have to check this place out. I'm not a fan of pizza but I would go back if I was in town.

We had delicious take-out from here. Mashed potato bacon scallion pizza- amazing! Just, a winning combination of flavors. We also ordered the tortellini pizza bc/ it combined 2 of my roommate's favorite foods, lol. It also worked- with dots of flavorful sauce, cheese, and slightly baked tortellini. Then, for dessert, the tiramisu was AWESOME. Creamy deliciousness, espresso on top, & moist lady fingers.

My favorite pizza, I only get it from Otto now. The cranberry, squash ricotta & Bacon and potato are always excellent. Recently got pulled pork pizza and that was good as well.

Cannot go wrong with OTTO quality. Any pizza here is amazing. Sevice is timely and consistent, and there are ample locations in the greater boston area. Certainly worth the hype.

$3.50 for a slice of pizza may seem overpriced, but the slice is basically a quarter of a pie. I ordered a slice mashed potato, bacon, and scallion pizza to go, and it was heavenly. They heat up a premade pie for you if you order by the slice, but it still tastes pretty fresh. The crust is thin and chewy, and they don't skimp on the toppings. Unfortunately, they didn't have the butternut squash, ricotta, and cranberry pizza available at the time I went, but it's next on my list!

I will never order from here again. They've migrated online ordering platforms. First, my account was deleted and I had to create a new one and went through the wringer trying to reset my password etc. Second, all my points were deleted meaning that my loyalty to this company was disrespected and all my discounts were lost. Third, both locations near me in Allston, MA claim to not deliver at 9pm. I sign in to UberEats and delivery is available (with a much inflated price of course). I actually really liked Otto Pizza, but with their new anti-customer updates I will never order from here again. There are too many great places to order pizza from in Boston to deal with this type of anti-customer rhetoric. Disappointed.

Don't skip on the mashed potato pizza! That slice will rock your carb cravings and have you reaching for seconds! We tried the mango and pork pizza and weren't as impressed with it but if you like mango this pizza is for you! Tortellini was a little Italian dinner all in one slice. Pickup was quick and easy and the facility was clean.

always a favorite takeout option when our teenage son has friends over. The mashed potato bacon scallion pizza is the best and everyone loves the cheesy breadsticks. The Caesarvsalad is really good too.

Nice staff. Quick service. Pizza was ok. Lots of different and tasty options. Unique choices that would surprise you at how good they taste. Depending on the pizza, there are some things I was not a fan of. Others may find it really good, but I wasn't a fan of the sauce on the cheese pizza. I found it to be a little too sour. The outside of the crust was dry and lacked taste. If you don't eat the crust, you'll love it. If your favorite part is the crust, go into it without expectations.

OTTO makes the best pizza in Boston. I used to order at the Brookline location because it was close to my apartment. Now I'm in South End. I'm happy the pizza quality is still good, even I order at the different locations. My husband and I usually take our friends from other states to OTTO when they visit me or order delivery to eat together because OTTO is special.

*** UPDATE**** So after the review I posted below, Bob the GM reached out and was amazing. He totally owned the slip up, letting my pizza get delivered sub-par and asked for me to give them another taste. So tonight a few days after the issue, I was back in the mood for Pizza (yes it only takes 48 hours), and my god they killed it! Perfectly made! Hot and steamy on delivery! And a surprise included with the pie! All I can say is this was the most impressive customer service I have ever, EVER experienced. Just incredible. Bob, thank you for the help. Otto's is so very lucky to have you!

Was stuck at my hotel in Boston during the blizzard of 2022. Lol. They delivered to my hotel and the pizza was very good. Definitely will try again when in the area.

I visited Otto on Commonwealth Ave., Boston, near Boston University and used their app to order a large, mashed potato, bacon, and scallion pizza (my favorite pizza of all time). It was hot and ready even though I arrived 5-10 minutes past the estimated pickup time. The woman behind the pick-up shelving was friendly and helpful, and I was in and out in a matter of seconds. In general, I enjoy OTTO pizza rather more than is healthy, so I have to limit myself to only having it once in a while. :-)

Ordered Otto Pizza on a Saturday afternoon while working long on campus. Placed an order for delivery (so I wouldn't have to leave my building and stop the productivity that was happening...or something like that). Ordered two small pizzas to share. One was the Otto Four Cheese pizza and the other was the mushroom, herb, and ricotta pizza. The estimated delivery was 40-55 minutes. Only about 25-30 minutes later, I got a call that the pizza delivery man was downstairs outside my building with my pizzas. Yay! The pizzas were fresh and piping hot. The thin crust was cooked to perfection and not burnt. The Otto Four Cheese: heaven. Globs of ricotta (in a good way), perfect blend of herbs and spices. A simple but classic cheese pizza. The Mushroom and Ricotta: again, glorious globs of ricotta and the mushroom were big and cooked perfectly (not slimy or rubbery). Overall, pleased with Otto Pizza and will definitely hit them up for more late-night delivery whenever grad school shackles me to this building.

We were looking for a place to eat between college visits & found this place near BU's School of Art. Honestly, there wasn't much to choose from except franchise type places, so we were pleasantly surprised that we happened on this place. The pizza was very good (though I don't know that I'd call it classic pizza). Try the mashed potato & bacon one And don't bypass the bar. They have a great selection and I was impressed by their cider. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the whole experience of a quick lunch was made much more enjoyable them. If I lived here, I'd frequent this place.

Customer service is second to none. I do hate that they consistently change their menu to take away my favorite pizza but their pizza is great. A lot of places or people wouldn't believe in such a thing but my wife has a tomato intolerance. She developed it about 7 years ago and it has made my pizza eating life hell. I love pizza. It was something I ate a lot of. And then the intolerance came where she couldn't digest tomato anymore. Pizza became a rarity to me. Then we found Ottos. I was always against the idea of a white pizza. It just didn't make sense to me. But their white pizzas are enjoyable not only for her but for me too. I ask that if Ottos reads this you bring back two. The arugula, pear and blue cheese. And the pineapple and red pepper flake pizza. They were quite divine. If you're adventurous in your food and willing to go against the grain of your typical cheese pizza or your pepperoni pizza give this place a shot. The mashed potato pizza is a great choice. Also the house side salad is great. I love the house dressing. I was mad when that went away but happy to have it back.

So we came to Boston for my eldest to her introduction in BOSTON UNIVERSITY, while visiting the campus and dormitory we stopped by your location. Friendly staff great Pizza , we had a pleasant lunch, and we are from Miami were we have a plethora of foods from every ethnicity.

We ate at Otto in Brookline a few years ago and remember the pizza being very thick and tasty and just ordered it from the South End last night and it was a thin crust and boring - not worth going out-of-the-way for. Maybe they changed recipe? Oh well ...

I ordered a large cheese pizza for pickup. When I got home I discovered that it was covered in black pepper. It was totally inedible - total waste of $18!

My wife and I checked tonight and since the start of the pandemic in March, 2020, we've ordered Otto's on average at least once a month. It's a great option for takeout/delivery in Greater Boston for pizza night. Check out the monthly specials, which are often very good. The Fresh Pineapple, Bacon & Hot Honey is also a favorite. I used to think pineapple on pizza was weird, but I've bene converted. The online ordering system works well, and if you become a regular sign-up as a member to get regular discounts/rewards.

I'm not sure if I understand the hype that surrounds OTTO because I wasn't too blown away it. I came here on a Tuesday evening and decided to have a slice of their cauliflower and mushroom pizza. My friend tried the mashed potato and bacon one. There were plenty of seats so we had no trouble snagging a table. My pizza was alright- it was a huge slice!- and for $3.50, it was worth it. I liked how the cauliflower and mushroom toppings tasted fresh alongside the nice crust that held up well even with the ingredients. I wish my slice had more flavors going on, though! The whole visit just wasn't too memorable for me. However, my friend said his mashed potato and bacon slice tasted really good!

OTTO's is Amazing! Butternut Squash/Ricotta & cranberries is my all time favorite! Also Love the Monthly specials! I've eaten at 3 different OTTO's in Maine and got delivery from 2 different locations in Boston! Enjoyed Amazing Pizza at All location!

Omg. This pizza was so damn good. I ordered here for the first time. I got a pizza with mozzarella, Romano, broccoli rabe, roasted garlic & red pepper flakes. Perfectly thin crust. It's delicious. Go there. Do that. Oh, I got a Caesar salad, too. I got 2 croutons. Y'all could've gave me more croutons.

I tried this pizza place for the final time. I gave them a pass on the terrible pizza previously, but cannot do it again. This has a little to do with Stuff for cleanliness. The pizza is just terrible. I like thin crust pizza as much as the next guy, but this is ridiculous. Look at the photos. Would you say this is of equal value of what I paid ($6)???

Ordered 6 pizzas to be delivered in an hour. The guy on the phone was very friendly. He Got our order right and delivered right on time with no issues.
