"Otto Pizza recently renovated its 225 Congress St. (Munjoy Hill) location, adding more beer taps and some special menu items not available at other locations, including Detroit-style pizza. A new location is planned for Rt. 1 in Saco (779 Portland Rd.)." - Dana Hatic

So good that there was only one slice left out of a large pie. There were two of us 😅 We got the pizza with carmelized pear, blue cheese, and arugula. We added feta to the pizza. Absolutely recommend! The lady manning the bar and dining area was extremely helpful, never stopped moving, and was fantastic!

Had a great experience at the 2nd official OTTO! Awesome service and delicious pizza. So many more tasty options than the limited menus in Massachusetts! I got the hot honey, cup pepperoni, and goat cheese. Top tier.

Google
Excellent pizza! We all love a good thin-crust pizza, and this was amazing. My daughter is picky and usually wants plain cheese pizza. She was willing to try the meatball, ricotta, and basil pizza, though, and she loved it. She said we should just get a small pizza to share, but after the second piece, she told me that we should have gotten the large. My son and husband split the large all-meat pizza and there were no leftovers to bring home. Really, really great food here!

Google
I guess they are know for their mash potato pizza. I had it as a slice in the evening and it was clearly old but I could tell the mashed potato would make a creamy and delicious fresh pizza. We ordered the 4 cheese. It was thin and incredibly full of flavor. The pockets of ricotta spread across the top were fantastic. I also recommend the house made ranch dressing which is delicious and creamy. Staff was more than kind and helpful. So good!

Came here the other night for dinner of 3. The pizza had very unique toppings and they were worth the combination. We all ordered 3 mini pizzas, one butternut squash, ricotta and cranberry, another fresh mushroom, manchego and herb and the last half pulled pork and mango and the other half mashed potato, bacon and scallion. The pulled pork and mango was wonderful, but the meat was lacking flavour. The mashed potato, bacon and scallion was very comforting and had a bit of warm spice. However, I feel like it could've used a bit of crunch. The one with squash was very autumnal and also comforting, and was perfect for a cosy evening. If you're in or around Portland, come here for some of the best tasting and creative pizza I've ever had!

Stopped in for an easy dinner, after being on the road all day. A perfect spot for getting a feel for the community. The staff were great, the bartender reminded me of a good friend from back home. The pizza was fantastic, fresh ingredients that played well together.

Google
I love Otto so much!! But WHY did you get rid of the tortellini pizza? and can you please bring it back? It is my absolute favorite. I was so sad to find out it’s gone. 😭😭😭😭

Google
Great pizza and beer! Very friendly staff! Update: Since I have the #1 photo for this location, obviously I had to visit again while in Portland on September 18, 2022! I was not disappointed. The pizza was still awesome and our waitress was so sweet and attentive. I wish I had gotten her name. I highly recommend this location. After eating pizza here, walk up to the Portland Observatory. The views are beautiful.

Yelp
Realy convenient and hosting a whole new pizza experience. We try to go every week when not traveling so we can continue to try each mouthwatering pizza. We like to start with a Salad and Garlic Sticks and then select the pizza of the night. I still enjoy the cheese pizza, but my wife just goes down the menu and finds one she has never tried before. The staff is always friendly, and the service at Biddeford ME is top shelf. We have tried other locations and have not been disappointed. The best part, sometimes is the next day when and if we have leftovers... Try it....you will enjoy it.....!!!! Love eating in a garage too...with doors open or closed. Our only complaint is that we are outside the delivery zone, but maybe someday it will expand. Until then, we go there and enjoy the outing.

Paul M.

Yelp
Trying hard to keep forgiving this place but this is the last time. Every time we order they either forget something or the order is wrong. We decided to give one more try and they forgot my wife's salad might seem like a big deal but it seems to be a regular thing so looking for a new pizza place

Jane G.

Yelp
This OTTO was fine--the interior was a bit average, the food subpar. Nothing special. The only upside is the location for East Enders. Staff seemed... out of it. I much prefer the more central Congress street location. Better option for takeout, I'm sure.

Matt G.

Yelp
It's solid - don't expect to be wowed with the pie at the price. Cordial service and cool space overall.

Caroline L.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Otto's pizza for while but when I'm in Portland, with all of the amazing and creative food, pizza just isn't my go to. But I grabbed a slice of cheese just to try and was glad I did! Super thin crust, delicious sauce and good flavor - all the makings of a great pizza! It's kind of a reverse pie - cheese as the base and dollops of sauce on top. The sauce was fresh and delicious, I actually wish it was evenly distributed so I got some in every bite since it was my favorite part. But I'd definitely eat it again. Friendly service too, even at the takeout counter.

Tiff W.

Yelp
I've been enjoying OTTO for years, but had never been to this location. We were looking for something quick to grab for an impromptu picnic on the Eastern Prom and OTTO saved the day! I liked that they had several different pizzas ready to choose from, and everyone in our group from toddler to grandma left lunch full and happy. I will definitely be back to this location! They had some decent-looking tiramisu that I'd like to try.

Jen P.

Yelp
Ordered the happy hour deal that promised a $1 slice with any alcoholic drink so I ordered a draft beef and the mashed potato pizza slice. But when the check came it was $14.30! So either I got ripped off and was not given the deal I asked for when ordering or a simple draft beer is over $12 at this place. I can only wonder because instead of giving me an itemized total the bartender just thrust the machine with the balance at me. Gonna be stewing on this for a bit.... Pizza was just ok

Matt L.

Yelp
Biggest plus of OTTO was the cocktails are a fair price: cheaper than getting drinks at a bar and definitely had enough alcohol to get us started for our night. The pies themselves were unique in ingredient-combinations. The pizza was a pretty decent size for a single person (I was able to finish it all in one sitting). The crust was thin, charred and sturdy enough to hold the toppings. I was excited to try out the mashed potato, scallion, and bacon pizza, but the flavor was a little more boring. The mashed potatoes didn't add much flavor (carbs on carbs is a fun thought, but in execution, pretty underwhelming) & so the pizza relied a lot on the bacon fat to provide the punch--which it did not.

Dante W.

Yelp
As a family from NYC, this was our first taste of pizza with Mash Potatoes as the main ingredient. I enjoyed a slice of the Mash Potato, Bacon, Scallion pizza which was delicious, as well as a Mash Potato with Pulled Pork and barbecue sauce, also excellent. Wife enjoyed a very fresh, delicious, and "bountiful" Cobb Salad. The hospitality and kindness afforded by the staff at the Congress St. location topped off the experience. Definitely a gem of a find during our travel through Portland.

Cosmo X.

Yelp
The service was a disgrace! Had us sitting at the bar for 15 mins doing nothing when they were ready to wait on us. They said all we have left the slices I said are you kidding me? You had a sit waiting and we walked out never again.!

Booze A.

Yelp
Ordered pizza from them on Uber eats, they never delivered and charged $27 cancel fee. #%^^^ Otto and #%^% Uber eats Never again

Raymond C.

Yelp
I ordered two pies and a salad through their online website. I arrived and told them my name for my pizza order. The lady at the counter told me it will be about 10-15 minutes, so I sat and relaxed. 20 minutes gone by no word from anyone so I naturally went back to the counter and asked about my order. She asked me my name and that it would be another 5 minutes. Walked up again after 10 minutes and then finally they gave me the reassurance that it was coming out. These were the facts of what happened. In the time I waited so patiently, I over heard the workers in the back say "this is like the third pizza I burnt today." And so naturally I thought it was reason why my pizza was taking so long. In the amount of time I've been there, I've seen so many things unfold. Customers whose ordered were placed online were never received, customers who ordered a pre-made slice got their pizza slice burnt because they forgot it in the oven, customers who came to pick up their pizza were told it would 10-15 minutes wait, but never got it within the said time. They obviously over promise and under deliver on their time estimation-but I get it, it happens. Despite my experience, I was really looking forward to the food. The pizza definitely wasn't well put together. Things started to fall apart, slices were ripping off. The bottom of the pizza was so burnt that the comment from kitchen worker started to make sense. But I do have to say that the ingredients were fresh and seasoned. I wished they did a better job at preparing the food and improving the customer service for future patrons.

Rhonda S.

Yelp
As long term fans of Otto (Portland locations, South Portland, Saco and Biddeford) I have to comment of our experience last night in Saco. The pizza was atrocious: dry, flavorless, thin and crunchy (quite like a stale cracker). If we had never had Otto Pizza before we would never return. I thought that Corporate would be interested in checking to see what is going on in Saco.

Robert R.

Yelp
Yummy pie. We got a kids cheese pizza, butternut squash pizza, and an order of cheesy garlic bread. They were all very good. Coming from the New Haven area we have high pizza expectations. We thought Maine wouldn't be able to deliver, but we were pleasantly surprised. Service was not unfriendly or inattentive but not stellar either. A great spot for a quick meal in Portland.

Emma B.

Yelp
This pizza joint is fantastic! It's just a little hole in the wall, but it has some really great options available both for ready-made slices and made-to-order full pies. We got a butternut squash, ricotta, and cranberry pizza. It was delicious! 10/10 would eat here again!

Caleb P.

Yelp
Food is decent. Staff are hit or miss, mainly miss. Expensive so bring your retirement with you.

Miranda M.

Yelp
After a year my sister and I traveled back north and came to try this place out again, the issue after all was a sever issue and nothing more. The server this time was such a pleasure to have. Super attentive and nice. I had such a better experience here. This place truly is a good pizza spot and thats coming from a New Jersian. Thank you as well to the owner, he did reach out to make things right but I'm not a local so I let it be. Food: 5/5 Taste: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Service: 2/5 The two stars I gave to service was in fact generous. The hostess was m.i.a upon arrival. The restaurant wasn't busy or else I would have understood. There was one lady sitting in the back whom we thought was on break given how long we waited for acknowledgement. Finally a man next-door in the take out area yelled for her. To my surprise the lady on her phone, sitting at the table, was the hostess and unfortunately, our waitress. She seated us and then it was just constant waiting on her to check in for our food order up until we left. She was super nice I'll give her that. But maybe pay more attention to customer

Najieh M.

Yelp
Otto's pizzas are very tasty. We went there at 4th of July . They were supper busy and we wait 30 minutes to have our pizza .

Lucy C.

Yelp
Pretty good pizza. Ready right away. Not a huge selection of flavours. I like that they have fountain pop as well as bottles you can buy.

Dennis A.

Yelp
What did you order today? "Buffalo cauliflower pizza Apple bacon pizza Moscow mule Rum punch" Please share any other feedback, comments, or concerns so that we can improve your visit next time! "Nate did an amazing job and made a fabulous drink! Wish we had an Otto's closer to where we live

Brian M.

Yelp
Staff was friendly but the food was terrible. First, the pizza had almost no sauce and the sauce that it did have tasted like canned tomato purée with zero seasoning. My meal ended abruptly when I went to the counter to ask for napkins and saw grease dripping from the filthy top rack onto the pizzas below. I was disgusted. I took pictures to attach to this review. Don't eat here, The food isn't sanitary.

Heidi U.

Yelp
late night supper...came on the suggestion of our airbnb host-so glad we did. our server was friendly and helpful. our pizzas were delicious! there were four of us so we split two small pies. one was fresh mushroom, bacon, and onion, and the other was butternut squash, ricotta, and cranberry. they were piping hot with a perfect thin crust. crunchy, not all all soggy. we enjoyed every bite.

Christopher E.

Yelp
We visited on Thursday 10/5/23, from Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Man! You can't get a pizza pie like this back home. But what made the evening for me and my Bride was the extraordinary service we received from a young man who was working all the tables by himself (and not skipping a beat). Food can be exceptional (and this was!!!), but service can kill a restaurant. They NAILED IT! A huge shoutout to the young guy, I was dumb and didn't get his name !

Lynn S.

Yelp
Food was great, Riley was our server and was awesome. super nice and recommended a menu item. Overall great!

TJ N.

Yelp
This cute and quaint pizza place hit the spot and then some. I tried the pie with a squash and ricotta and cranberries, and the other half was there tortellini pie. Each side has its very distinguished flavor notes and the crust was absolute perfection. And believe you me. I have had a lot of crust. It was thin. Cooked to a crisp edge and a textural chewy inside just right. To start. I had their chill corn salad which had fresh mozzarella and roasted corn with some spices and a rice wine vinaigrette. It was also perfect. Do not sleep on this place.

Jim P.

Yelp
Rainy Saturday night (7/8) and we needed a quick meal. Little did we know that there were a few Otto Pizza places around town since we had already eaten at another one for lunch! Huge, delicious salads and yummy pizzas at both! I love the crust and the ingredients tasted fresh and full of flavor.

Mere P.

Yelp
Ordered 2 salads and 8 pies for a gathering. Service was excellent. It did take about 30 additional minutes from when I ordered everything to be ready (placed the order 24 hrs in advance) but the order was correct and the food was amazing. Rave reviews all around

Elise H.

Yelp
Our party of 4 ordered two small pizzas that were delicious, but not exactly warm. we let the server know and she immediately offered to take a pizza off the bill. We appreciated her offer and decided to order one more small pizza that she promised would be hot. very soon the kitchen sent out two pizzas that were straight from the oven and were delicious. We were so appreciative and told our server. when the bull came, we were not charged for the two additional pies and she had taken more money off the bill. our server could not have been nicer. she was working hard and was gracious and very much deserved the larger tip we gave her. All the pizzas were outstanding - though the hot pizzas were much better. we love Otto Pizza, and we love Portland. This should be a definite stop for anyone looking to enjoy fantastic pizza in a warm atmosphere with great staff.

Hanna M.

Yelp
Otto's pizza is a great spot to stop in for pizza. They offer a variety of original and unique options along with build your own. They staff was friendly and helpful with our order. They have a full bar with several beers and a few wines on tap.

Corkie B.

Yelp
I love OTTO, the mashed potato, scallion and bacon pizza has been a favorite of mine for years. Whenever we visit Portland we come to OTTO. I especially like the very laidback interior, great for eating with my young kids and they even have a kid's pizza that has a traditional red sauce and slightly thicker crust.

Justin C.

Yelp
This pizza was perfect! We went during lunch, and they sell it by the slice at lunch. Because of this, we tried a few different ones, but the potato pizza was our favorite! It was so unique, and it reminded me of some of the potato pizza I had in Rome. It's great that they have multiple locations in the Portland area. Would reccomend!

Timothy L.

Yelp
Otto's is one for my favorite pizzerias. They always have extremely creative flavor combinations. We could go on and on. But a couple of our favorites are the mashed potatoes, bacon and scallion pie and the asiago, eggplant, mozzarella, red sauce, ricotta, basil. Just tried a season special which was delicious - Honey balsamic roasted brussels sprouts, bacon, mozzarella and blue cheese. We try everything and have not been disappointed. On-line ordering is easy. And the staff are always friendly, efficient and accommodating.

Megan K.

Yelp
With its unique toppings and pairings, it takes this place from a regular pizzeria, to something special. We went on a Sunday evening which was pretty empty. Football was playing on the bar tv which my boyfriend appreciated. We ordered the Buffalo cauliflower, scallion and blue cheese pizza and a butternut squash, ricotta and cranberries. Both absolutely blew us away! The cauliflower had a bit of spice, the scallions added a freshness and the blue cheese tied it all together. The butternut squash was my favorite of the two, with large dollops of ricotta, so can you really go wrong? Both pizzas had a buttery thin crust and the flavors were memorable.

Tulshi P.

Yelp
Absolutely in love with their delicious veggie pizza pies! I stumbled upon Otto through a yelp search and was very excited to try their pizza. I'm happy that I tried this on my first night in Portland. Staff was very hospitable and knowledgeable about pizzas and things to do and places to eat in Portland. Note: I visited during Labor Day weekend and they had both outdoor and indoor seating. Although indoor seating was socially distanced and sanitized and same goes for outdoor seating.

Marc L.

Yelp
This place is dope. OMG...OMG The finest pizza in all of Portland & surrounding areas. Their latest restaurant is in the Cinemagic theatre in Saco, on route 1. By the way their meatballs are almost better than mine. I've never ever found a meatball so close to what I make. Otto's is superb!!

Farrah N.

Yelp
Amazing selection of fun pizza. The butternut squash with goat cheese and cranberries was delicious!!!

Stephanie T.

Yelp
Stopped by 9pm on Saturday. Dining room was closed due to staffing issues. Limited slices left. A crowd walked in behind us just after 9. The slices we got were served warm, not as excitingly hot/fresh as we were hoping. Got slices of margherita, mashed potato bacon, and monthly special (crab rangoon). They were decent, probably would have been better earlier in the day or if they were fully staffed.

Abbey O.

Yelp
Okay I've got to say I love Otto's pizza. I've been coming here for years and the pizza quality is always top notch. Recently though I came in on a Sunday afternoon in between brewery stops to grab a few slices and was greatly disappointed with the service. My friend and I originally walked in on the side of the slice side of the building, not the main restaurant/dining area. The girl behind the counter who rang up our slices was nice, but didn't seem in a real hurry to get our food to us. She was more preoccupied talking with her coworker than to ring up our food. We then asked since the place wasn't busy would it be okay if we ate our food at the bar, we figured we'd get a drink and hang out a little. She told us it was okay so my friend and I went in, and when I say the place was dirty I mean it was dirty. Nearly every table had trash on it, like every table full of plates, used napkins, dirty glasses and silverware. I was so shocked, I mean its one thing to have a table or two that just left but this was more than just two tables. However since we were there to sit at the bar we passed by the dirty tables no comment and sat down at the bar. When we did though we could see the waitress or bartender whoever was responsible for the dining room was sitting in a backroom playing on her phone. She didn't even acknowledge us she just sat the whole time. She seemed annoyed at one point that we were even sitting down so I refrained from ordering a drink. When a couple did come in to get sit down service she only then got up. And even then she didn't seem to be in a great hurry to help them. I was so shocked and disappointed. Maybe it's the labor shortage and she was overworked or maybe because it was a Sunday the staff at the slice bar was tired and bored. I don't know but I know that in my time working in a restaurant I would never treat customers like that. Very disappointed I think from now on I'll only be ordering delivery from this Otto's or maybe I'll go to the Read Street location. Either way this is not going to be a pit stop on anymore brewery stops for me.

Steff D.

Yelp
I've been loving on OTTO since the day they were born, but I gotta be honest: I kind of forget that this location exists. For me, OTTO is: 1. The other Congress St location (because it's the original, and ohhhhhhhhhh the memories I have - and the money I spent at 2am - eating huge slices of 'za here) 2. John Roberts Rd, because it's my favorite indoor location (though they've gotten rid of their indoor bocce and that's a huge bummer) 3. Online (a) love that you can track the progress of your pizza!, b) if you haven't joined their rewards program - GET ON THAT!) So... I don't come here; I think it's a much more convenient spot if you live in the East End or are spending time in this area as a visitor/tourist. But, it's still great. The staff is always super friendly, there's plenty of seating, a great selection of local beers (and wines to choose from), and they have an expanded menu including fries (which are actually DELISH and abundant at just $5 or $6; for sure get the sriracha mayo for dipping!) and Detroit style pizza, which is possibly the only disappointing OTTO pizza I've ever had - it's "deep dish", but it was mostly thick, dry dough when I had it. So, I'll agree with others, it just leaves a lot to be desired. So glad they continue to create unique flavor combinations, and YAY for bringing back cauliflower as an option. Now... where'd the roast garlic cloves go?!?

Edward H.

Yelp
We appreciate our local Otto's pizza at the base of Munjoy Hill. We can always count on excellent, friendly service and delicious food. The space is comfortable and the use of piano parts in the decor is a gem.

Julie U.

Yelp
I ordered 4 pizza's from the Exeter,NH restaurant. All 4 had specific additions or changes. All 4 were as exactly ordered and amazing. Thank you for a great meal.

Michelle F.

Yelp
We had an evening of brewery hopping (Oxbow and Austin Street) and wanted to finish off the night with something easy and delicious. We called to place a pick up order with Otto and tried the mashed potato pizza as well as the buffalo cauliflower. I thought both were delicious and were more than enough food for two people for two full meals. We had it for dinner that night and had it for another meal the following day. If i had to choose - I'd say the buffalo cauliflower was a little bit better. They have lots of fun combinations that you wouldn't normally see at other pizzerias, I would love to try some others the next time we're in town. The butternut squash is probably the next one that is on my list that I would want to get.

Erin R.

Yelp
Ordered the peperoni pizza. The crust is thin, with a nice slight char from the heat and still has some chew. The sauce is on the sweeter side, which compliments the salty cheese (thanks to asiago being mixed in). My only small complaint is that the peperoni could be crispier. Otherwise, this was right up my alley!

Thap S.

Yelp
I've had ottos in Harvard Square in Boston. It was phe-nom-inal! I literally have never been more impressed with a slice of pie than ottos in my life. I was looking forward to trying the OG, the original Ottos in Portland itself but I was severely underwhelmed by the quality. Burnt underside, light toppings and a complete lack of sauce at all. I'm honestly and truly crushed by the order I just placed. I was hyping up this pizza to my fiancée all day just to have it be essentially inedible. I know ottos can be great but this location? Not so much....

Marisa C.

Yelp
The best place you'll ever go for pizza. SERIOUSLY, trust me on this. I am a pizza princess and eat every slice I can find, so yeah... I know this place is the best! Especially for quick and cheap slices. You can go here and get the most out-there flavors and be so impressed. If you haven't been. Go there now!!! Tip: For their happy hour if you order a drink you'll get your first slice for free! Cheers friends! Tip #2: MASHED POTATO BACON SCALLION PIZZA. Don't ask questions, just do it!

Sarah S.

Yelp
My mother, sister and I were in the mood for pizza and came across this lovely place. The waitress was very friendly and the service was great. We ordered a large eggplant ricotta and basil pie, but unfortunately they were out of eggplant. Fortunately we all love mushrooms on our pizza so we decided on a mushroom ricotta and basil pie instead. It was delicious; I would absolutely recommend this place! My mother ordered a slice of the Detroit style pizza (onion and mushroom) which was tasty as well, but I would recommend the other style! I found the Detroit style to have a little less flavor.

Angela H.

Yelp
It's such a treat to get Otto's. Their pizza is so good and crispy but in just the right way. My favorite is the butternut squash, ricotta and cranberry. No one else has anything like it and it's genius. We ordered pickup online and it was so easy but we didn't realize they had slices and it would be cool to order by the slice online. I'm not sure all the flavors are available but if you go there to order you can buy pizza by the slice.

Mike M.

Yelp
Great work at a recent event I had. Easy to work with, delivered over a dozen DELICIOUS pizzas on time. Highly recommend these guys for catering. Make sure you add a few trays of meatballs - they were awesomeness

Sar P.

Yelp
I'm picky about pizza but Otto makes delicious pies and the staff is friendly - I had half butternut squash and half eggplant and they were both good but the butternut squash was my favorite!
