Quiches, sour Cherry pistachio tart, really good coffee

London
Ottolenghi Marylebone

Firstly, the food is genuinely delicious. Who knew broccoli could taste this good? I usually go for the mixed lunch box where you build your own. I really like that it isn’t self-service, so the general public can’t get their grubby hands on everything. You simply ask for extra bits from the healthy, well-thought-out salad and carb options. The protein choices are excellent too. There’s fish, and an outstanding chicken schnitzel with fennel seeds mixed into the crispy breadcrumb coating. It isn’t cheap, but you absolutely get what you pay for. Quality ingredients, proper service, and let’s be realistic about the location. This is Marylebone, a premium area, so don’t moan about the price. Finally, the mince pies. Hands down the best in London. St John comes close, but these are deeply packed with filling and the pastry is beautifully short. Hot or cold, they’re perfect with a hot drink. The photo doesn’t do them justice.

I only ordered a small Raspberry and Passionfruit cake. It was nice but definitely not worth £6.70. On the other hand the salad bar did look really appetising and the shop’s furnishings are amazing. It has a very light and airy aesthetic.

I was annoyed to discover they get away with not having a washbasin or toilet in a restaurant with table service, swerving the rules, and don't even heat up food they serve, slowly and at a premium. The food stuff is fine, obviously.

I think the cup used for a hot latte shouldn’t be glass because I immediately burnt my fingers and my tongue. Otherwise lovely decor great friendly service if definitely go back to try the food !!

I’ve been visiting Ottolenghi locations many times over the years, and every visit whether grabbing food to go or dining in has been nothing short of excellent. It’s always a flawless and flavorful experience. The food is consistently delicious, perfectly seasoned with their signature spices, and made with top-quality ingredients. Honestly, I feel like I could never get tired of it. The scrambled eggs are always fantastic so creamy and full of flavor and everything else on the menu is just as impressive.

First time at Ottolenghi’s and the food was ok, but as a fan I probably expected that it would taste better. The two of us ordered three different salads each and they were tasty but not tasty as expected. I felt that the recipes from his cookbook that I made home tasted better 😳😳 The girls who work there were really nice.

Absolutely incredible! We had the most delicious lunch and cakes there. The service was very friendly and smooth. Lovely spot to sit in or take away. The food is the best in London. I also like to buy their delicious packaged goods to bring as gifts and to eat at home. A must-visit!!
