The Farmhouse Hotels of Southern Italy

"This 14-room luxury boutique hotel is just under an hour from Bari. Beginning its life as a classic farmhouse estate, in the 1970s its ruins were purchased and rebuilt — including its trulli, the distinctive, conical buildings typical of the region. Despite the rural setting, the atmosphere is one of contemporary luxury, with interiors as sophisticated as any." - La Guida Michelin

First and foremost this place is stunning! Absolute gorgeous- family run, the vibe the view the feel the look, everything. Rooms are beautiful, spacious and super comfy. Staff are so helpful and welcoming. We had a few issues and the staff helped out a lot. Breakfast was delicious with the ingredients grown on the farm. You need to work out what kind of trip you want, we drove 30 mins most days to get to the towns we wanted to see but it’s a nice drive anyway. Very relaxing at night.

One of the most beautiful places we have stayed with food that is outstanding. No wonder they are in the Michelin guide hotel selection. The scenery is breathtaking. A place we wished we could have stayed longer and just take in the sun by the beautiful pool, or just listening to the birds while walking on the beautiful gardens. It is secluded enough to relax but close enough to drive to any of the many beautiful towns for dinner or just sightseeing.

We had the most enjoyable time here. The hotel is situated in a very quiet spot in a beautiful location. We had a very comfortable ground floor room with a private walled garden.|The staff are charming, very efficient and friendly and we were superbly looked after.|The menu was varied but remained the same for the week. The food was delicious, but perhaps one or two specials would have been nice.|There are several charming towns to visit and a car is needed, but there is barely any traffic apart from the main roads.|A really enjoyable stay

We absolutely loved this hotel! It’s beautiful, clean and nicely located. We visited many surrounding towns in the morning, then came back and spent the afternoon at the pool that was a delight! Aperol spritzers while floating in the pool. We ate dinner every night we stayed because the Restaraunt is so good.. no need to go drive anywhere else to eat dinner. This hotel is a ten plus!

This place is an absolute dream. I actually spoke to my entire family and we are planning a trip back with many many family members!! The staff rides themselves on excellent customer service are always happy, smiling, and willing to lend a hand. The rooms are impeccable comfortable with a great air-conditioning system - Something that is very important when travelling south of Italy during the summertime, especially! The breakfast buffet is incredible and offers you both American and classic Italian options while showcasing homemade delicacies from the region, such as homemade cheeses, pastries, cakes, tarts, and my favourite- the figs from the orchard! The pool and lounge area is impeccable, and the premise is always immaculately maintained. Recommend over and over and over again, and I’m definitely coming back next summer!!

We stayed at Ottolire Resort for a couple of days and were blown away by the experience. The owners have done an incredible job; everything feels new, luxurious, yet cozy and elegantly simple. The property is huge, filled with fruit trees, olive groves, and vines—so much to explore! There's a beautiful, clean pool nestled in the valley, protected from the wind and surrounded by olive trees. The breakfast is abundant, with a variety of fresh, local options. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and the staff makes you feel like family. The food is delicious and prepared with care. Highly recommend renting a car so you can easily visit nearby Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, or Alberobello to see the Trulli, which Ottolire Resort brings to mind. The spa is amazing, and they offer bike riding activities too. We'll definitely stay longer next time!

Highly recommended.|Hint - it’s quite hard to find in the dark, so make sure your google maps is working if you are driving there!

Yelp
As you drive from the airport you scratch your head a couple of times and ask if you're going in the right direction and if you're even on the right road- stay with it because you will eventually drive up to a driveway entrance that has two black gates - once the gate opens you enter this estate that is like nothing I have seen before- newly finished, this resort is pretty stunning, and the grounds are massive. Since they have only been open for a couple of weeks, they are still trying to make this place more perfect than it is... Mary, who greeted us at the front gate couldn't be more charming and delightful. She even got us a cake because it was out friends birthday on our arrival day. Would also like to add that I had one the best meals here- the Beef Stew with Mushrooms was amazing...
