Oude Werf Hotel

This hotel is a beautiful historic building in the main street of Stellenbosch. Very central to shops and great restaurants. Our large room was at the back of the hotel so was very quiet. I think the room was an old horse stable tastefully renovated. The walls were very thick and the front door was split like a stable door. We had a wonderful luxurious time staying here. The people were friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was enormous and delicious.|We could have stayed here a week.

We had an excellent stay. We booked a Whimsy Room which was very spacious and it had a very large bathroom with a shower and separate bath. The hotel was located centrally in Stellenbosch with a short walk to numerous cafes and restaurants. The hotel’s restaurant was excellent with a good selection of local cuisine. All the staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Leticia in the restaurant. The hotel also arranged transfers to Cape Town airport at a good price.

A lovely hotel in the centre of Stellenbosch. The rooms are large and spotlessly clean. The bed is very large and comfortable. The shower was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. |Breakfast was delicious. We also had dinner here which was delicious too.|Stellenbosch is a delightful town and safe to walk around at night. |The only problem we had was finding the hotel as there seemed to be a shortage of road name plaques!!! Not the hotels fault.

Wow what an amazing hotel, the room, service and food was so good. Can fault anything. Clean tidy right in the middle of stellenbosch close to all the restaurants. Such happy friendly people who couldn’t do enough for you. I had great stay and hope to be back one day soon.

Unfortunately I did not have the best experience here; * Parking is a MASSIVE issue - not only is there far too little parking space available, the street in which the hotel is situated, is really crowded. * Cleanliness of the rooms are not as one would expect, see pictures (and the shower is smelly). * The hotel is dated, and not in a good/ historic way, more in a lack of keeping up the maintenance way (see the pictures of the floor and stairs as example, as well as the light - and therefore sound as well - coming in from the poorly insulated room door). For the price you pay, you would expect pristine conditions (everywhere), honest advertising (especially about the frustrating parking situation) and an up to date/ well maintained environment. Not recommended from me, sorry.

Stayed one night at this lovely hotel in the centre of Stellenbosch, convenient for restaurants and the small botanical gardens. Our modern ‘Plenty’ room, overlooking the inner courtyard, was well presented with good sound insulation. We had a decent lunch from the all-day bar menu but ate out in the evening.

This was booked by our travel agent as a secondary stay following a few nights in Cape Town, beautiful white rendered old building in the town centre of Stellenbosch. Breakfast was excellent, rooms were stylish & well appointed. Tonnes of lovely restaurants, bars & cafes located within walking distance. Didn’t get to use the pool facilities as we were busy doing activities most days. |Would happily return if I found myself back in this beautiful town!

We've stayed at this hotel several times and once again, a great experience. The location can't be beat and the staff are very helpful and attentive. Great hotel. Breakfast was outstanding. We had an issues with a transportation provider and the hotel was so helpful in getting us on our way.
