Ounce comes highly recommended on the Taipei and Taiwan subreddits and I do agree that it’s well earned credit. Sara(h) and Zach were lovely and conversational bartenders. I was asked my preferences and they made delightful cocktails that were strong. My first drink was by Zach and had Mezcal , chilli liqueur, passion fruit and something else my slightly tipsy brain can’t recall. I asked Sarah for her take on an unhinged Long Island Iced tea and I believe she used a plum Cointreau and something unexpected in lieu of the coke. I was very pleased. If you want an extra special treat, if you provide Zach with some authentic scotch bonnet he might be able to make you a Carribean jerk inspired cocktail 😉

Rad little bar! The staff is incredible. There is no menu but they will create anything your heart desires. Everyone speaks English and they are all masters of their craft. They offer food but I was on in for drinks. I cannot recommend this place enough. Go here early and often.

Step into Ounce and transport to NYC! I spent the evening chatting it up with the owner, an expat from NYC. This bar bleeds authentic speak easy with creative cocktails from wonderful chatty bartenders. Where else in the WORLD can you find chartreuse and other hard to find liqueurs. Step aside gin and tonic lovers and let them drive leading with flavor forward tastes to meet your needs. Large, hard to find selection of whiskeys and rum too.

Exceptional cocktails, great ambiance. Not easy to find... but more than worth the scout.

This is a speakeasy bar hidden behind a coffee store front. It's cute and intimate. To order a drink, you tell the bartender what flavors you're looking for and they will provide you with a few options. Honestly it was disappointing. They basically have a menu in their head and will not do anything too creative and it's just classic cocktails where you can swap out some ingredients. It would've been much easier to order if they just had a menu.

Dead empty but enforced one drink per person minimum. "American style cocktail" in Asia is like how panda express is a Chinese style restaurant in America. Save your $$ and get bubble tea. Drinks were 400 each.

This place is such a vibe. Asked for suggestions on reddit to host a work social event in a country that is completely stranger for me, and they reached out and helped us organize such a successful event. They were very good with communication, they fit our budget and requirements easily, and the drinks, food menu and vibe of the place was such a hit.

I don’t understand those cocktail bars in Taipei where the bartender wears suspenders, doesn’t smile, and then charges you 500 for a cocktail that usually has smoke spilling out of it or dead flowers. If you want a no bullshit drink, bartenders with personality and a danceable playlist, this place has it. Come on Taipei, it’s not that hard. Just don’t be too cool for school. People are looking for connection not “delicious drinks”. Incidentally, Ounce also has delicious drinks. Ounce brings the NY speakeasy vibe back. And other bars should watch and learn. Give it a shot if you haven’t already.
