My experience at the Health Center overall has been a great experience. Where I feel they can improve on is with the children childcare centers. After a year in the waiting list at the Blvd Location we were transfer to the new location in Decatur. My son pull up was left wet and dried out throughout the WHOLE entire day. I felt so heart broken from my son, perceiving the irritation and itching throughout the day. I was grateful for thr opportunity but as result I removed my son to ensure that this never happens to him again. His diaper was on from 9am-4pm at pick up. Smh

An amazing place helping children and families thrive while ending the cycle of homelessness in and around Atlanta. I’ve seen first hand the success this charity has achieved with multiple families. It’s been an honor to volunteer with Our House and to see first hand the impact they have!

Their services were ok. Some of the staff could be incredibly rude with the comments they made but overall the experience encouraged me to be independent and work harder to not need the help of this organization or any similar organization again. I think the only disheartening thing about this place is that while the entire world was in the midst of the pandemic they actually threatened to kick residents out if they tested positive for covid-19. I was always someone to stay to themself so the comments weren’t directed to me but others around me. Regardless of the circumstances. Situations that were life and death (at this time) should not have been dealt with so cruelly. Many people in these nonprofit organizations are cruel not only at Our House. My advice to anyone seeking assistance, don’t look for a handout. People at these organizations are more receptive to you if you’re helping yourself.

They literally do not help with anything. They don’t help with childcare, rental assistance, Marta cards literally absolutely nothing. This shelter is not for people who are ACTUALLY in need. They don’t serve breakfast during the weekday, you need to leave everyday from 9am-3pm( mind you this shelter is for people who have a child under 12 months ) so that means you’re out in the cold or heat all day with small children with no where to go which isn’t even safe considering the neighborhood. It’s supposed to be so you can find a job but you can’t actively job search until you have childcare so that rule is stupid. The childcare that they provide is absolutely HORRIBLE, the teachers stand outside the school smoking cigarettes sizing up the parents and gossiping about each other and just down right uneducated and no compassion for children AT ALL. They serve brunch on the weekends which consists of a burnt microwaveable breakfast sandwich, sausage links and expired milk. Dinner is always late because the kitchen here is broken and the food comes from the first pedestrian church. We’re not allowed to use the elevators from the hours of 7am-6pm AGAIN this shelter is for people with children under 12 months which means you’ll have to carry everything and your children up the stairs. This place is literally a storage place for your belongings for 6 months and that’s it. The Queen review is completely fake. The staff here hate their jobs, they duck and dodge you wherever you need something is almost impossible to get it even if it’s something as small as toilet paper or documents for obtaining government assistance. This place needs to be evaluated by the Secretary of State because they are doing absolutely nothing with the funds and donations to help the community AT ALL. Not to mention the roach and bed bug infestation in the building. If you’re a donator or sponsor please go visit and speak with the residents in person yourself and ask them about the treatment and services they’re receiving before donating because these people are not using it for good causes.

Had a bad experience here. Many of the staff criticize and are not helpful. I signed out my child and was in the restroom with my children and was harassed and rushed out because my child was crying from being cranky. They repeatedly knocked on the door making accusations of spanking. Then I got bum rushed by 3 women, two of whom was my advocate and the director in my face falsely accusing me of spanking and demanding that I go into the office. I kept asking why and they refused to tell me and just disrespected me out in the hallway, out in the open. I kept saying I did nothing wrong. I was very upset that they did that, especially in front of my children and everyone else. I'm still waiting for the senior vice president to call me back. I demand an apology from everyone.

I volunteered at this location and had a horrible experience. I worked extremely hard during the hours I was at the facility and the staff gave me such a hard time and in the end would not let me complete my hours at their facility. I had to complete my hours at a different non-profit. Ould not recommend that any volunteers choose to do their community service hours with Our House.
