I recently had the pleasure of dining at a local Black-owned soul food restaurant in my hometown Liberty City, and I couldn’t be more impressed. The portions were generous, and the meatloaf was absolutely flavorful—just the kind of comfort food I was craving. I later returned for the baked chicken which was just as good. I can’t wait to return for the yams, which were the perfect complement to the meal. On top of the great food, it was wonderful to meet the chef, who was incredibly warm and welcoming. Overall, this spot delivers both on food and hospitality, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

Found this place while scrolling for soul food and decided to order and pick up from here... So here goes... I called to place the orders and the gentleman that answered the phone was very pleasant and patient with me because I had questions. After deciding to order I ordered the following. 2 wings and rice combos - one with lemon pepper flavor wings, mac and cheese balls, seafood rice, string beans and a side of potato salad. The other was garlic parm with yams, collards and corn bread. 2 seafood and rice combos with blackened snapper, seafood rice, collards, mac and cheese, yams, and corn bread... Lemon pepper naked wings were delicious seasoned and cooked perfectly. The garlic parm naked wings were cooked perfectly, but the taste was just ok. The blackened snapper were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Mac and cheese balls and mac and cheese was decent - uncertain if I will order them again. Collards and were ok (edible), but lacked seasoning. Yams and corn bread delicious 😋 Potato salad was absolutely awful I have never tasted a potato salad that tasted like it came out of the ocean 🤮 Seafood rice I cannot say because the grease from the chicken took over the flavor because there was not separation from the fried chicken and the rice...note to the kitchen maybe think of putting some wax paper or something between so that the grease doesn't seep into the rice. I couldn't eat it because all I tasted was grease. Now to the parking, so the parking is in the back of the restaurant and it's a long walk to enter the restaurant. My aunt couldn't take the walk to the location so I had to make 2 trips to bring the food to the car. BTW there is plenty parking tho. Next - customer service is 💯 staff was very welcoming and professional. Restaurant is very clean and open. I will definitely return to this restaurant especially now that I know what I like. The 4 stars are solely for the parking location and the potato salad.

I've ordered their $7.99 chicken dinner twice and the 1st time I wasn't impressed at all. Truthfully, my cooking is wayyyy better than what I ate that day. I then came another time chicken and once again, totally not impressed at all. The yellow rice is so plain and so bland. No chicken gravy was put on the rice at all. The cabbage taste like hospital cabbage. It almost taste like they cook a lot of chicken and just let it sit all day. The temperature is not even piping hot its kind of room warm borderline room temperature . I know we're suspose to support black restaurants but so far, nothing about their chicken meal stands out to me. Nothing is marinated and the BBQ chicken had only a tiny drizzle of BBQ sauce oppose to traditionally lathering / spreading the BBQ sauce on the chicken. Hey... I guess for $7.99 what should I expect?

The food is so good that seafood rice. I’m gonna need me a pan of that. The flavors in the food is wonderful. The Care & the love the chef is putting into the food is amazing. I pray that this business excel larger than ever.papa rocks !!!!

7/20/25 pick up order left out at 3:48pmJust order food there the skinny bright skin girl with plants needs work on her customer service skills these people come to work with attitudes maybe she can't work under pressure the owner need to get 5 different undercovers when she work cause she will make customers not come back . You can tell by how she talk her mouth is slick be mindful of the people you hire cause they will mess up your business and be mindful how you talk to people everyone not wrap to tight but anyway haven't taste the food yet if it's good I will add to my review but this was my experience. Thank God I took the tip off online I usually tip on online when I order but I said today I will tip in person and that's a negative for me one thing I do know I won't be back cause next time I won't ignore her attitude iam going to continue with the company treats and eatz cause they know ti treat they customer first impression is everything.

I truly enjoyed the great food and friendly staff. The restaurant was very clean and the cook was also introduced to me and my sister. I ordered a blackened salmon dinner that was delicious with generous portions. I am looking forward to my next meals in the future. I was very satisfied!

Lets support local restaurants!! This was the first time coming to this spot and it did not let me down. Everyone is very pleasant and helpful. Chef Latisha, amazing, such a sweet heart. Thank you all for your excellent customer service. As for the food, exceptional. Mac and cheese, corn bread really good on point. Lemon Pepper Wings and 1/2 Chicken both were seasoned, juicy, and good portions. But the collard greens were the best, my daughter said. Going back again to try something else, they offer a variety of foods. You must give them a try. You will be full of tasty goodness and you won't be broke because the prices are good. The place is very clean with plenty of parking space. Bless up!

I’m from Memphis and the food here didn’t miss. The cashier was well informed about the menu. The service was so good the Chief came around and assisted Someone food question. Her food presentation was beautiful.The customers as we waited was enjoyable. The atmosphere makes me wish I could have sat and ate. Seems as they have a lot of regulars as well. Recommended if ur in the area. I’m not but I’ll be back

Listen!!! If you are looking for some really good food, then this is the place to be, I will admit, when I first drove through the area, I was a little intimidated because of the neighborhood. But that did not deter me from making my way inside. They do have parking and it was very clean with no trash laying around. The front door, and all the glass upfront is barred, which was the scary part. But that only tells me about the neighborhood. It does not tell me about the customer service. Inside, you will see that they have no seating. It is just a order and go restaurant. I ordered lemon pepper pepper wings Yellow rice and collard greens. It was all very good. Then I ordered the snapper sandwich which came with fries. That was also very good. My order was reasonably priced. And they cooked to order so everything was hot and fresh. I will say that there was a little interaction with the cashier but nonetheless, they were very nice and got to me in a timely manner. Know if I have to complain, and I mean really had to complain, it would only be the drinks. I ordered a sweet tea and a lemonade with my orders. The sweet tea was way too sweet. And it tasted a little old. The lemonade was very lemony, but not as sweet. I can't remember what other options were available but definitely don't do the tea. Overall I would come again and would definitely recommend to anyone else.

I saw this place on Facebook today and decided to try it out. There is free parking and you are able to order and pay online, Park in the designated numbered parking and they will bring your food. The parking lot was very clean. I walked in and Shantell greeted me with a smile and a hello. The place was decorated nicely and very clean. The lady ordering in front of me ordered meatloaf, yellow rice, green beans and I forgot what else. I ordered the same but I ordered yams with mine and a side of potato salad. My order took maybe 7-10 minutes. I noticed everyone in the kitchen were wearing gloves. While waiting, I had a great conversation with a couple people and they said they eat there often. I didn't know that I get a drink with my order. Shantrell asked if I wanted a flop, lemonade or tea. I asked for the flop. I can't tell upu how good that flop was, you just have to try it. Now to the food review. The dinner plate had two very nice size pieces of meatloaf with onion gravy. The yellow rice was tasty and tender. The greens had no meat in it but were well seasoned. Great for vegetarians. The Yams were very good sweet but not too sweet. The potato salad was a great compliment. I would also like to mention the take container was not your ordinary Styrofoam container, it was a plastic on, very sturdy. See pic. The portion size was enough for dinner and lunch the next day. I will go back and, yes I recommend Our Papas Kitchen.

The customer service was really great. I ordered when I got inside it didn't take long for it to be prepared. I got the Rice and chicken combo . For the chicken wings I got the garlic and Parmesan , I wish it had more sauce, but overall it was still good. The mac & cheese balls were the best part because they tasted like they were breaded with hush puppy batter, the potato salad I wish I had a larger portion but it was also really good. I also got red velvet Tasted homemade, and really good.

Lemon pepper wings and French fries - hot and cooked to order..FLOP - delicious and refreshing...good service...ALL of my condiments! I will return to try more of their menu options..

I come here for my comfort food. Their lemon pepper wings are fried and sauced to perfection. The inside is small and more of a takeout location. Service is efficient.

Decided to give this establishment a try after passing by it several times. There's parking in the back, after a short walk you'll be at the entrance. The waiting area is a little small but they do have four chairs to sit on while waiting. There's tv with menu options, menu is extensive. I decided to get the fried snapper dinner combo. The combo came with rice and two additional sides. I opted for double fries. The snapper was really fresh. I liked the rice and didn't eat much of the fries but they were good. I got full from the snapper and rice. One con about the food is the parsley they sprinkled on top, felt like it was unnecessary. Overall, I enjoyed the food and would recommend to others. I would've gave five stars but the wait time was long and I think they forgot about my order. Waited over thirty minutes, people who order after me received their order before me. The person who took my order noticed and had to ask me what I ordered. A few minutes later I recovered my order. Next time I'll call In my order, to reduce waiting.

It was probably one of the first to stop in, and I was impressed! My first impression was that I was surprised by how clean the restaurant was. I'm no stranger to this neighborhood and was expecting to overlook things to cure my hunger. The staff are very welcoming and have a great process of conducting business with a full restaurant. My biggest problem was trying to figure out exactly what to eat. The menu is quite large and leaves you wondering what everything will taste like. I played it safe and got the orange pepper wings meal, which was pretty hefty and heavy. No complaints!! I'll be back to try the jerk pasta and another flavored set of wings. This place did not disappoint and is definitely my lunch go-to spot!

The wing combo is elite 5 wings with rice Mac and cheese and yams this spot is amazing im really enjoying the lemon pepper wings

This place is great. I had the half chicken, wings, fries, cornbread, rice, and sweet tea. Everything was good. The cornbread really hit the spot. It's hard to find good cornbread. Even the sweet tea was good. I can't wait to go back and try a few other things on the menu. The service was good and the girl behind the counter was very patient to the fact that this was my first time here and had a ton of questions.

I will definitely be eating here again the food is fresh, and the flavors are perfect. Nothing is too overwhelming and complements each other well.

I was driving in the area and seen the sign and searched it up here on yelp and decided I had to try it the next day. Very glad I did I got lucky to speak to the head chef she was a very nice lady and helpful. I ordered the southwestern wrap and this was probably the best chicken wrap I've ever eaten hands down. Chicken was perfectly cooked and the fries were amazing. I went back 2 days later and ordered the wings and rice combo with corn bread also This is definitely my new soul food spot in Miami

Wanted to love this restaurant, but sadly got back to the hotel and my fish that was supposed to be blacken snapper was a small piece of fried swai..big difference in price and fish. Peach cobbler was out of this world and wings were delicious! Just wish they got my order correct!

Was looking for a place to eat on Christmas Eve and they were open until 8pm! What a blessing because the food was FIRE! I was craving soul food and this place hit the mark. I ordered online and my food was ready and hit when I picked it up, service was on point. Worth the drive from the Gables!

The food was super delicious, The service impeccable there was a small mistake on my order and they had no problem fixing it with a fresh plate of food and also credit me back some money for my patience. The food was amazing and the staff was just as good. I definitely recommend this. The first and only soulfood restaurant I actually enjoyed.
