Wow!! I work at a nearby college and walked past after teaching this morning. After eyeing the bins of beautifully fresh fruits and veggies I decided to go in and was Gi smacked by this gorgeous market. Large aisles, huge variety of products, and freshly prepared foods to go made have made this a regular stop in my routine. They’ve got loads of staples and fun imported snacks and treats, fresh sushi (watched it being made), knowledgable meat and seafood departments, and so many freshly prepared to-go foods I had trouble deciding what to try first (and I say that as a vegan who usually just has to make do with whatever is available which fits my dietary restrictions). Can’t wait to return. Friendly staff as well.

I visited Ouri’s Market on a Wednesday morning around 9 AM and asked an employee when the everything bagels would be ready. She said she had no idea, so I reluctantly ordered a different bagel. Just 20 seconds later a fresh batch of everything bagels came out. I politely asked if I could switch my order, but the worker refused. Confused, I asked again, thinking it was a misunderstanding, but she still said no. This led to a 10-minute argument with three employees, during which I felt embarrassed. When I asked for their names, they refused. I also requested to speak with the manager, but they said I’d have to wait an hour, which was unreasonable given my busy schedule. To make matters worse, one of them even mocked me in front of my partner, saying, “We feel sorry for you.” This level of customer service is unacceptable. If I were the manager, I wouldn’t tolerate such behavior and condemn these workers indefinitely. I’ve personally never written a bad review before but this conduct was simply not okay

Ouri’s Market is a wonderful new addition to the upper east side! Their selection of fresh fruits and vegetables was impressive and their prices competitive and actually less than some of the other specialty markets in the area. Ouri’s has created such an attractive store that even meat department looks inviting and almost elegant! I was also impressed with their seafood selection! I visited Ouri’s on their opening day when they were still stocking shelves and hadn’t started baking their bagels, however their babka was delicious! They also have a great selection of prepared salads and other prepared foods that will ( I’m certain) be flying off their shelves!

Google
Prices range from "expensive" to "crazy expensive," if you're even lucky enough to find something with a price tag on it. The overall place is beautiful and there's absolutely a clientele who will shop here...just not sure that will be enough for them to survive. The one saving grace - there pre-prepared salads were priced competitively, even if they were 90% kale. Also, if you're looking for a hard-to-find exotic kosher condiment or ingredient, they might just stock it. I saw many imported products that few if any other supermarkets stock. Bottom line: despite their prices, you should visit here at least once. It's an experience.

Google
I had an extremely disappointing experience at Ouri’s Market. The prices are ridiculously high compared to other stores in the area, and the quality of the products doesn’t justify the cost. On top of that, the staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful—when I asked a simple question, I was met with eye rolls and attitude. Customer service is clearly not a priority here. Save your money and shop elsewhere where you’ll be treated with basic respect.

Google
Excellent but pricey quality kosher foods; nice choice and ambience. I liked their prepared Hungarian goulash and on premises fresh made sushi. Their fresh squeezed orange juice is delicious at a great price . I would like to see a larger dessert selection.

Google
Absolutely the best fish in the city!! The fresh produce and fruit selection is massive compared to any grocer nearby and the quality is always incredibly fresh. Service is always excellent and priced better than any other grocer in the area. Whole chickens are wonderful. Prepared foods are delicious, a little pricey but it’s because the quality of ingredients is high. If nothing else- try the fresh fish- you won’t go anywhere else again.

The customer service here is quite poor. I approached two employees who were not working and having a personal conversation by the checkout area. I patiently waited for them to pause the conversation and ask if I needed anything, as store employees are trained to do when a customer approaches them. They proceeded to make eye contact with me and ignore me several times, expecting I would walk away. After 3 minutes of standing there and being blatantly ignored, I eventually interrupted and asked if they could help me. When I asked my question, one employee just waved me away and said “no.” Another employee approached and I asked her the same question and she said that she didn’t believe that they had the item that I was asking for but if they did it would be in the freezer aisle. Instead of escorting me to the aisle and helping me to look for the item, she walked away. They do not care to help the customers here. They feel they will get the same business no matter how they treat their customers. It is a shame given the quality of the food and products are quite good.

Yelp
I love Ouri's they have the best meat and prepared food. The bread is delicious. Also, their coffee is really yummy Everyone at the checkout they are so nice and I met the owner and he's really really nice kosher meets in New York City

Yelp
I schleped all the way from the lower east side for bagels . I asked for 4. I got home looked in bag and she only gave me one . Otherwise it's a great place

Yelp
I do not live in the UES, my friend Rochelle does and shops here for fish, specifically, salmon and hummus. Thus, this review is simply a quick visit based on my curiosity as to how UES shop. To put it simply, Ouri's, is an upscale Kosher market. It carries everything from fruit, to salads, to Mediterranean cuisine, you get the picture. Rochelle picks up a dragonfruit and exclaims "Look how gorgeous"... Yes it is but the prices are not.. Seriously, ground beef at @$18 a pound? $60 for a pound of baby lamb chops?! I'm probably out of my depth here but I cannot justify paying these exorbitant prices.. I understand the need to buy Kosher...and bight quality.. The store's product is nicely presented but the layout is a bit compact; entering the store to the right, the checkout area is tight as you try to navigate to produce. There is a saying "When in Rome you do as the Roman's do". I guess that might be applicable to supermarket shopping on the UES.

Yelp
This place was magical, if I had unlimited funds I would blow it all here. Super happy with the selection of healthy foods! I tried the edamame salad and the chicken salad both were delicious and not too saucy. I also tasted the ice cream and the truffle cream cheese and they were delicious, I really want to come back and get a bagel sandwich!

Whitney D.

Yelp
It was my first time in here today. Now maybe I came on an off day but when I walked in and went my produce it was kinda messy with boxes on the floor and shopping carts filled with product that looked like it was about to be put on the shelf. This is an all kosher supermarket which is cool and a good addition to the area. All the produce looked fresh. They have interesting selection of products, pre-packaged foods and other products. I saw they had a Hot dog wrapped in waffle for 22.00. I saw on some other reviews how the prices were crazy here. I did not buy anything but a decafe Iced latte which was $5.55. I swear I thought it was going to be like a 8.00 drink. The barista was nice. Before you even walk into this store there are carts outside with rolls of plastic bags for produce attached to tje cart. Cool idea but that is alot of carts and alot of rolls of plastic bags. Aren't we trying to use less plastic?! If I am in the area maybe I will come back but not rushing to go back.

Yelp
There's a new supermarket Ouri's just opened on E67th and 3rd Ave. It's a big space. They sell fruits, meats, vegetables, canned goods, prepared packaged meals like salad, packed cookies and chocolates. They also have fresh pastries at the front. A lot of items don't have prices listed on them yet. They're still stacking the shelves. It looks so new and clean. They are kosher. They close at 4pm on Fridays and are closed all day on Saturdays for Sabbath. Opens at 8am Sun-Fri.

Lawrence S.

Yelp
5 stars anything less is from a HATER!!! This is my supermarket I love how it's the New York Erewhon .. 3rd ave is turning into a baby Madison .. I love the chunky monkey smoothie shoutout to my girls behind the bar. Me and my girlfriend love the packs of chicken wings for $10 ... I wanna try the burgers next - the staff are great it's very clean. It's what whole foods wish they were but without the tech bro vests. It's a fashion show when you shop here!!!!! Upper east side for life .. oh yeah the guys behind the seafood market will give you the biggest red snapper $40 can buy but make sure your house can air out because it will smell like carp for two weeks

Sharon C.

Yelp
Love Ouris market! The produce is highest quality, fresh and great variety. Butcher and fish also has high quality food. The prices are high but not much different compared with other 'gourmet' markets like Citarella.

Tvoyakukla M.

Yelp
Purposely No prices listed anywhere. "Let them eat cake" vibe , you find out the prices at the register and theyre huge

Carrie H.

Yelp
No prices on a lot of items. Very expensive when you find out the prices. They add a fee if you use a credit card (which no other ues grocery does). They check you out and then say they don't take cash at that register. Too few registers and utterly disorganized check out. It is survival of the fittest, like being in a bazaar.

Nicholas K.

Yelp
The store is overpriced to a level that is actually hilarious, unsustainable and candidly insulting. There is a prepared food counter featuring a ~$25 dollar pre packaged plate of chicken nuggets (maybe a dozen standard nuggets). There were even a few $30 dollar standard pre packaged items. The prices here made the Hamptons grocery scene look reasonable. It's a shame because the store is clean, organized well and a needed feature to the neighborhood. Ouri's can do better.

Allegra C.

Yelp
The hummus and tuna salad- amazing!!! Beautiful market, not cheap but fabulous quality-

Lieve G.

Yelp
Prices are rather high but the freshness of the produce balances that out. The vegies and fruit are superior to the other kosher markets in the neighborhood. I have not tried the meat nor fish yet but plan to try that on my next trip. Lieve Guttmann

Claire S.

Yelp
Their store made appetizers (pesto pizzas and chicken biurekhas) were terrible. Bourrkhas were sooo doughy and chopped chicken was very salty. The pizza dough just got hard (not crispy) and tasted nothing like a pizza dough plus also very salty. Huge disappointment considering how expensive they were.

Eric T.

Yelp
This place is so expensive most items don't even have prices! As if to say, "if you have to ask, you can't afford it". When you do manage to find out the price, you will think they are kidding; they are not. It's perfectly nice food and expensive, but, it shouldn't be , we flew this in a private jet, overnight, from Paris expensive. I'm used to gourmet food pricing but, this is insulting. I guess they are catering to the "Let them eat cake" crowd. I will not ever be shopping there.

Carmel N.

Yelp
Why is it so difficult to find the prices!?!?! Every thing looks wonderful but very few items have prices!!!!

Eva T.

Yelp
This grocery store, market, food bizarre(not sure what to call it) is like no other and the best thing to ever happen to the upper east side!! I almost don't want to write this review and keep this gym all to myself. But as I sit here eating another one of the different fruits I purchased here yesterday and tasting how perfectly sweet, succulent and delicious it is, I needed to come and give a review. This place cannot be compared to a food emporium or a Whole Foods because there's no comparison on any level.. it's just not the same. The only place I think Outi's can be compared to is a Trader Joe's because of the unique and random items you can find here. First off, when you walk in you have theee most delicious breads in the world!! Then as you stay to your right and go toward the back you will be hit and immersed and vibrant life! The veggies are so lively y'all!!! It's hard not to buy every veggie they have here. The veggies pull for you. They're so fresh. Sometimes you can even get an herbal smell from them. I'm telling you the best veggies in the world... okay , in the city are here! You can't even get veggies like this at your small health food store. I'm sure the OUR and OURi's stands for our.. as in all of us because I get a great sense of community when I shop here too the ladies by the bread are so welcoming and cool! The guys that take care of the fresh produce are always on point with packing and making sure what's out there is fresh. I saw a lot of unique goods from local sellers, which is so amazing!! I really don't want this place to be jammed pack like the overrated markets we have here on the UES... but the owner of OURi's and the staff (and I suppose the residents in the area ) should know this place is the best thing to happen to the upper east side ever!! Please keep up the great work ‍ shalom!

Yelp
I have visited twice and was very impressed by the quality of the food - but - much of it is unpriced so until you get it scanned you don't know how expensive it might well be. Also, someone told me that they charge a surcharge for using credit cards - I didn't believe it, but on checking my receipt today on a $17 bill they added $0.54!!! I have never seen such a thing before - they are already somewhat expensive so to tack this on is not acceptable. I do not know if it is even legal, so cannot comment on that but it seems wrong to me.

Danielle S.

Yelp
This is the nicest grocery store - with the most reasonable prices. A true local love that has everything you need without a fuss

Steph B.

Yelp
The fruit and vegetables are like those at an outdoor market in France - wonderful. However, on the whole, the prices are from another planet ....either unmarked until you get to checkout, or exorbitantly priced for most staples. The bagel counter is a dream... but again pricey. Shopping within the store is lovely regarding the interior design of the place. Summing up with Ouri's "you win some, you lose some."

Mark R.

Yelp
Worst copped liver I have ever tasted you would think they would have there act together as they are kosher it was disgusting inedible.

Barbara ..

Yelp
Spent $11.99 for Chicken Soup which I thought was expensive but I was hoping it would be worth it. It turned out to be a broth with carrots and celery and about 5 tiny pieces of chicken. Very disappointed.

D Z.

Yelp
this review is only about the bakery and a very narrow part. A store employee in the bakery department recommended the dulce de leche babka as a host gift and it was the worst most tasteless babka we all have ever had. The only taste was SWEET but no texture no flavor and we threw out the $25 (not marked on the packaging) babka. Many food products have no pricing btw. I hear soups are good so may try one. Clean store so that's positive.

Yelp
Ive shopped here at least six times and the experience is fairly consistent. All meats and fish are overpriced. The produce is fresh. The pastries are bland. You need to watch the amount charged because it is always more than the value posted. Similar to another reviewers comments, when the error is pointed out to the check-out clerk, a very big deal is made. Even when you walk back to show them the price posted, the clerk argues with you and acts as though you are trying to steal from them. Today I stopped by at 3 pm to buy bananas and a sushi box. In order to avoid their 3% up-charge, I waited five minutes longer to pay cash at the solitary cash accepting register. After waiting, I was told it wasn't working for cash. The clerk told me to wait in the adjacent line in order to pay cash. That too was another five minute wait and was unsuccessful because the second register was also not accepting cash. They then pointed at a third register where a completely full cart was being checked out. I declined to purchase. Before leaving the store, I asked to speak to the manager and was told that he had left for the day. Bad customer service. I won't bother to shop there again.

Claire D.

Yelp
The most incredible food market with the largest, most varied selection of fresh produce! Astounding! Excellent butcher, fish, poultry . Coffee bar, Fresh sushi, baked goods, all groceries, incredible selections! Mind boggling!!!!

J S.

Yelp
Ori's has the best selection of kosher food and groceries. Great ambiance, many options, and easy to navigate. Prices vary and sometimes are higher than average. A great addition to the neighborhood

Diane R.

Yelp
Many times I have gone in to get fresh fish and always they close many different times at the end of the day. Today I arrived at 7:12p.m. and it was covered up and the Seafood Department was closed and nobody behind the counter. Another day it was 7:30p.m. I think they should just close the store at 7:00p.m. if nobody wants to be there at the Seafood Department.

Martin H.

Yelp
I visited the market yesterday to purchase some items for Passover. I discovered that except for some meat products there WERE NO PRICES POSTED ON ANY ITEMS. That it outrageous and I can't imagine why anyone would shop there. I would certainly never go back there.

Madison F.

Yelp
Terrible experience, will not return. I live in the area and have gone into this supermarket a handful of times since it opened. Each time I am shocked by the pricing but have accepted that it is a specialty market. So it was surprising to me when I went in and noticed that the Jumboz brand blueberries that I always buy at another supermarket for $9.99 were listed for $7.99. I was so surprised that I double and triple checked that the very small magnetic tag matched the brand "Jumboz". When I went to checkout, the blueberries rang up for $11.99. I called over a cashier who was very dismissive, telling me I had made a mistake and "maybe it is for the smaller blueberries". I corrected her and directed her to go look at the sign. She did but returned with another brand smaller container of regular blueberries, saying "maybe these". I asked for a manager and was told he is "off today, on vacation, not here, coming later" by a second cashier. A third cashier chimed in sharing that it must be "disappointing" but it is $11.99. I explained that not only is it disappointing but it is fraudulent and illegal. I explained that they needed to honor the price and/or take down the sign and was told "we're just cashiers". When I asked once again if there was anyone in charge of them I was told the manager is away. I left without buying anything and will not be returning. I highly recommend everyone to take note of the pricing of any products you pick up because you may end up paying more.

Ted U.

Yelp
went back while more prices are on the shelves. still feel this store is out of place. based upon the obnoxious shoppers, with a holier than thou attitude, and their obnoxious loud kids, who they dont watch, the store would be great in Great Neck or the five towns area

Julie B.

Yelp
I stopped by today for the first time. Some raves and some "are you kidding me's," so I met in the middle at 3 stars. Very clean, bright, pleasant to shop in (on a weekday - crowds on Sunday looked awful). Lots of interesting products and the produce looked really nice and was not too badly priced for the quality (though for some items you won't know till you scan and pay). That's the plus side. On the downside, as others note, many many products aren't priced at all (including a little box of cookies that I later discovered cost me $18.00).... Who shops for food without prices??? And the prices on some items like meat are instagram joke worthy - for example, I think I saw a pastrami product that was well over $100 per pound? The chicken prices were not so bad, but the meat just looked insane - other worldly prices. Also, as someone else mentioned, I think it's illegal for them to charge a surcharge to use credit cards, and it's a hefty fee. There also seems to be a whole elaborate system of very unenvironmentally friendly plastic bags everywhere -- I brought my own but doesn't seem to be encouraged and they have plastic bags EVERYWHERE. Bottom line - if you are a billionaire foodie who keeps Kosher, you are going to LOVE this place. If you aren't, you're going to need to shop carefully to avoid unpleasant surprises at the cash. With some adjustments, this place could be great! (And if it's really illegal to charge extra for credit card purchases in NYC, someone needs to get them that memo asap).
