Out & About Burgers

My best friend took to me to this joint and I was INCREDIBLY pleased with their quality of food and service. We ordered the double cheeseburgers with normal fries and sweet potato fries, onion rings, an extra Cagney sauce on the side. The food had no chance to last longer than 5 minutes — we absolutely KILLED IT! Classic burgers that were tasty, possibly one of the best sweet potatoes fries I’ve ever had, and the onion rings were delish. I would definitely recommend to others and come back over and over again whenever I’m down South!

Yoooo. Ok so as a visiting lad from California home of In & Out, I had to try Washington's Out & About Burgers here in Puyallup. Yoooo, fire🔥 I only give it 4 out of 5 stars because they don't have chopped chillies or have extra toasted buns as an option. I ordered the triple cheese burger and it was amazing. The carmalized onions in the burger were awesome. Onion rings with their house sauce is also amazing. On my personal scale it lands at a 8.8/10 but definitely a 10/10 recommend! Is it better than In & Out? You be the judge lol

Great place for a burger and fries. I wouldn't say its worth going if there is a long line or if its out of the way. But it definitely hit the spot after a plane ride from San Diego. Way better than any of the fast food joints in the area. Next time I would get the triple burger as the patties are a little thin. It sounds like it would be too much, but I feel like it would make the ratio a little better ( and I enjoy smash burgers). Or maybe thinner lettuce and tomatoes would make it perfect. Either way, I'd eat there again and again.

Very straightforward experience. I got behind a line of cars and a guy outside took my order and I paid via credit card by placing on his phone. As soon as I reached the window I got handed my order of triple cheese burger with fries, chocolate shake, and some condiments. I particularly liked how neat the food was placed on a small cardboard tray and wrapped in a bag. Made it mess free when I drove back home. Food was good and better than other fast food establishments for a decent price also.

The burgers are good. Fries are plentiful but could use like a house seasoning or something, put some Tony’s on them. House sauce is good. Fair price for a good burger but nothing out of the ordinary. Would go back for a burger. Drive thru only.

I’m a Cali transplant. This burger 🍔 joint is equivalent to In-N-Out burgers 🍔!! Since our relocation here in 2015, we’ve been missing In-N-Out burgers. At the recommendation of my sister-in-law, we tried it that year and we fell in love with the deliciousness. 😍 The burgers, sweet potato fries 🍟, Cagney’s way style fries, shakes etc were so yummy 😋. The ingredients are fresh and you can definitely taste 👅 the difference. We’ve been returning customers since our first try. This establishment is family owned and operated. We definitely like to support local businesses and make every effort to stop by and eat here monthly. I have a variety of old and current pix the hours of operation may not reflect the current hours. Lastly, always expect long lines but definitely worth the wait. Highly recommend!! 🤩🤙🏼🤙🏼

First time going here, they don't have signs when you pull in directing you where to go so we immediately pulled in and got behind a car in line. A car that was waiting in the "line overflow" immediately drove up and almost hit us. I guess he thought we were cutting him off in line. Karen activity lol. Would help if they had signs. The food doesn't taste like in and out (they said this was a dupe) it's flavorless and mid.

Really impressed with the quality of the food they offer at such an affordable price. The burgers were juicy and fresh, even though the patties felt a bit thin and less seasoned than the direct competitors. I understand that it’s being compared to In-n-Out and this local chain is totally up there on the list of great burgers, and they even have better fries than In-n-Out which isn’t saying a lot. I did find that the onion rings batter didn’t cook through all the way which left me a bit disappointed, but all in all great spot to check out if you’re craving a delicious meal.

Great burger place! Especially if you're tired of the corporate fast food places. Shakes are good, burgers are great. Love the fries and fry sauce. Never been disappointed.

My aunt and uncle suggested this place as they live in Puyallup. We tried once before and it wasn't there because we didn't realize it was a food truck. However, it was there yesterday and overall pretty good but nothing too out of the ordinary. The cheeseburgers are tasty, kind of remind me of of a Dick's patty with In n Out toppings. The patties are very thin even for me, so you may want a double. The lettuce was super fresh and I enjoyed the extra thick slice of tomato. The spread was good and my friend liked the grilled onions which I didn't get but they smelled amazing. Overall, the burgers are well priced and there's nothing to complain about. They did season the patty itself which was appreciated. The fries tasted very similar to Dick's and we're pretty good. One serving is very large and priced reasonably at $4. They definitely needed some salt but overall very good. This is a drive thru only place and they cook fresh food so you'll be waiting in the car for like 5-10 minutes, so just a heads up. We both ate for under $20 and that's a win in this economy. Definitely worth a try!

Great burgers, way too slow. I know this place is trying to replicate In n out, but I consistently have to wait too long to get my food here, even if the line isn't long. They just haven't quite figured out how to be fast yet. It's probably because they're still growing. If you're going here, plan 15+ min in the drive thru.

When the line goes is this long, the food becomes a must try. I was excited especially watching all the social media posts. Fries are a bagger!!! A must try Burger was good - very close to In and Out. Price: these burgers and fries are super reasonable. Great for families. Service was good- I did have some trouble getting into the correct line. But was quickly re-directed very kindly. Definitely will go again.

This is about as close you'll get to an In and Out in the area. Hopefully we'll get an actual In and Out soon since they finally opened a location in Washington state. But this little food truck (permanently situated along Meridian) is quite the gem. Service is usually fast and the burger itself is pretty close taste-wise and fresh-ness wise. I actually like the fries here better than fries that In and Out serves. Put it on your regular lunch rotation if you live in Puyallup.

If you're a fan of the California based burger joint with a similar style name, you will absolutely LOVE this place! It's well worth the trip to Puyallup! As I write this, I'm actually thinking it might be a good day to make the trip from Kitsap again to get another burger! Don't think about it, don't hesitate, just go, you won't be disappointed!

Always a great burger and the onion rings are so good but really greasy. Everyone is so nice. there and they move things along pretty quickly.

Washington's IN-n-Out haha The burgers and fries were good. They give you lots of friends and dipping sauce. My favorite is their orange creamsicle....it is soooooo good, I would drive all the way to Puyallup to get it again. The food is pricey so be prepared to spend over $60 for 4 burgers, fries and 1 creamsicle.

Burgers are pretty basic and good! You can get a double patty if you want! Their menu is limited but I think that's what they are going for! The French fries remind me of Dicks French fries; they are kinda soggy and taste best when they are first made! At least that's how I like it, you can also add the topping onto it for extra charge of course. This is not a sit dine in place. It is drive thru only. It gets a little crowded but the line moved fairly fast.

Out and About is a drive thru burger food truck. The line, at times, can be fairly long and does move at a nice pace. The menu is simple and classic with burgers, hamburgers, grilled cheese, fries, sodas, milkshakes, and ice cream. I enjoy their double cheeseburger with both raw and grilled onions on it. I like how they wrap their burgers, ready to eat. Their milkshakes are pretty good too.

I've aways seen this place on TikTok and was driving by today so I decided to stop. Nice guy working the register and relatively quick with how busy they were. I got a double cheeseburger and it was super good. I'll definitely be back

I have been driving by this spot for ages and today stopped for a milkshake... customer service is great. It's drive thru only but the young man taking orders in the drive up was really nice and patient since I couldn't see the menu. They have a great variety of milkshakes. We got a black raspberry and a chocolate. They are thick and creamy with great flavor. It was only $11 for two 20oz shakes and their menu prices are not too high. Definitely going to come back and try the burgers

The husband and I love this place, they have multiple locations, but this one takes it for us. Great food, great service. Only gripe is it's in a random U-Haul/Storage parking lot, but it really gives it character. Shoutout to our guy, Unique who made the experience very bearable on a really busy Saturday Night Line. This place has long lines for a reason, no need to wait hours and drive a long way to get to Ridgefield for In-and-Out Burger, just go to Out and About for your fix, get your fries Cagney's way, try an orange creamsicle shake, and enjoy the burgers.

Food is awesome. Very close to In-n-Out. Fries are actually better. Four stars only because the location is kind of a hassle.

Both locations are always kind and friendly, even when they're standing in the rain to take your order with huge line! Food quality is consistently great! IMO, best take out burger & fries in the area and their shakes are awesome too! Highly recommend!

Came here with my boyfriend after seeing all the hype on TikTok and talk about how these burgers are like in n out. Will say the burgers were super good but I wouldn't say they are "just like" in n out. They are comparable though. I will say my favorite part about this place besides the burgers was their sweet potato fries. Line was long when we got here but they move pretty quick! Will definitely be coming back :)

Ordered 2 burgers with fries, extra fry sauce. We got 2 burgers, one was customized, onion rings, only 1 fry sauce. After waiting 30 mins in line we drove off before checking only to find this down the road almost home. No time to return so we are stuck paying for food we don't want as the customized burger isn't what we wanted nor the onion rings. Very disappointed because this happened once before but we caught it and had to turn back. They even confirmed our name for our order. We won't be back after this.

Out and about burgers are absolutely delicious! Their burger & fries combo are very reasonably priced compared to other fast food and take out restaurants. Their food tastes fresh every time, and their burgers are neatly assembled and not sliding all over the place! Fries & onion rings taste amazing, and their creamsicle shake is next level! This is definitely My go to spot for anything burger related!

Stopped by here Thursday for an impromptu cheeseburger and fries. I ordered a cheeseburger no tomato and extra crispy fries. This is the closest to an in n out burger I've had in wa. (In n out is my absolute fav!!!) so for me to say this is huge!! The burger. There wasn't anything special about it upon the looks but the taste was delicious! Everything tasted fresh and was memorable. 5/5 The fries. Prolly the best fast food fries I've ever had. They were extra crispy and even several hours later when I wanted some more of my leftovers they were still crispy. 10/5 There was a gal with an iPad out front taking our order and there to answer any questions we had. I like this over ordering through an intercom. Again. Gave total in n out vibes! 5/5 Will I be back. You bet I will. I'm sure you're wondering where my pic is? The food was so good I ate it before I could get a pic. don't wait. Just go grab a burger for lunch or dinner.

I love Out & About Burgers and have tried both of their Puyallup locations to great satisfaction. Fabulous service and they don't get ruffled by a long line of cars which I appreciate. We have tried a sampling of just about everything on their menu and I particularly love their sweet potato fries and of course the burgers! These are a bit smaller than what you might expect from other burger joints so I definitely recommend grabbing a double if you are hungry. Absolutely worth the wait and a fantastic lunch option when you are running errands or -on the nose- out and about. Thanks for being a fantastic fast and delicious food choice in Puyallup guys!

I gotta say their burgers and fries reminds me of "In-N l-Out" food which hits the spot and they're always booming with business and their food never changes which keeps it savory every time that what your coming for !

The burger patties are very thin so make sure to order at least a double. If you like in and out then you will like this burger. I demolished my burger in seconds because that's how good this burger is. The animal style fries that they have are way better than in and out. I will be back for sure and I was gonna drive down to ridge field Washington to enjoy some in and out and now I I'll just drive to Puyallup for out and about!

Great In N Out substitute for us WA folks. Tasty burger & fries and reasonable prices. The blackberry shake was also very good. The location is a little down bad but the service is great and food was delicious. Would definitely visit more often if we were closer

Out & About is a great choice for cheap & delicious burgers. I've heard people call it an In & Out dupe, and I would agree, but I like these burgers even better! I love the double cheeseburger. Their fries are so delicious and you definitely need to get fry sauce. Their milkshakes are also yummy. The service staff is always friendly. Sometimes it's a short line, sometimes it takes quite a while to get your food. It depends how many cars and their orders. The truck itself is cute & small. The drive through goes around the trailer. It hits the spot every time!

Best Burgers!! Basic Burgers without the frills Real meat and flavor! And you can't beat the price!! My go to burger‼

Been seeing a lot of posting about this place so we Decided to try it out. Burgers were juicy and delicious. Fries and rings were delicious as well. The shakes were bomb. Just what we needed after a hot day. The Service was friendly and had a great vibe. Definitely worth the hype.

Unlike what some other Yelpers have suggested, I wouldn't say these are the best burgers in Washington but I would say they are tasty, fast food burgers similar to In & Out Burger. My wife and I shared double cheeseburgers, deluxe grilled cheese (cheeseburger without the beef patty), fries Cagney's way (similar to animal style at In & Out Burger), and a Black Raspberry Milkshake. It was exactly what my body needed after hiking 10 miles in Mountain Rainier National Park. Surprisingly, I think I liked the deluxe grilled cheese more but I love cheese. I'd the double cheeseburgers had more cheese, id probably prefer them. Now other reviewers have said the sides are a miss. I disagree. I really liked the fries Cagney's way. They were very salty and crispy and covered in cheese and onion. My wife and I finished them all. The service was fast considering there were only 2 guys taking orders and cooking. As for the ambiance... It's a well-hidden hole-in-the-wall food truck. It's parked in a U-Haul parking lot.

I had high expectations coming here, with people saying that it was comparable to In & Out. People have also stated that the owner hates having it compared to In & Out. So with that being said, i still am giving it 3 stars. Ordered the double cheeseburger and lettuce wrap burger. Patties were delicious - flavorful and oh so cheesy. Buns werent flimsy nor hard to bite into. For sides we ordered onion rings and fries. The onion rings are double battered and overgreased. Fries were flavorless and tasted hollow (kinda hard to explain but like biting into a thin cardboard box?). When we got our sides, other food was mixed into it like we got some potato fries and fries. Looks like they just fry all the sides together in one burner. A bit hard to find as the food truck is in the parking lot of UHaul and its hard to see it as it looks small and is hiding behind a fence. Just keep in mind it is just before the stop light and Walgreens. Took us about 10 minutes to get our food. Line was not too long, when we arrived there were two cars in front of us and two cars waiting for their food. Overall, we will come back for the burgers, not for the sides. Good hit with the burgers, terrible miss with the sides.

I'm from California where In-N-Out is the spot for cheap burgers etc. For my first time here, let me tell you this place is probably better in my opinion. They have more options for sides. I got a regular cheeseburger and reminded me of home. I got the onion rings which were not bad but oily and the sweet potato fries are so good. I'm not a fan of In-N-Out shakes, it burns my throat because of its thickness but the shakes here are very delicious, not as thick, and not too sweet either.

Best onion rings! And they give you more than enough. Good burgers but they listed what it comes with and I didn't want lettuce, it was only burger and cheese. I thought it should have onions and maybe pickles on it.

Burgers priced right for the size. Friendly staff. My wife and I decided to try this place based on our daughter and son in law's experience, and our need to grab food on the way home. The only negative is the wait in line (and not much room due to popularity) but, in the end, the food was worth it. You pick your burger, add patties or bacon, etc., and are charged with each addition. The base price is low enough that the additions aren't a problem. Burgers aren't big but flavor was great and not greasy like other flat top cooked burgers. Fries were on point and you get plenty. Onion rings are cooked perfect for me, nice and dark and crunchy. Will definitely return!!

Even though the line was coming out of the parking lot because it's a small stand, they kept it flowing. I feel they were well-prices for the amount of food we got. The only reason I'm taking off a star is because the sandwiches were a bit smaller than expected, with a massive amount of unimpressive fries. Nevertheless, we'll be back next time we're in the area!

I rolled up to Out & About on a Tuesday evening. The car line to order was short and a breeze to wait in. Super friendly staff greeted me and took my name and order. I got a bacon cheeseburger with fries! I was delightfully surprised when handed a brown bag. My burger was made to perfection and fries were hot and crispy. I enjoyed eating it in the comfort of my truck! Dare I say - better than In and Out?! Cause it was!

From a person that went to In-N-Out religiously from when I lived in California because of being part of the car community, I'd say the food definitely does remind me of it. My fiancé and I got bored and drove around puyallup and came across this place on TikTok and figured we try it since there's been rumors of it being just like IN-N-OUT. As far as the food and service goes they knocked it out the park. As far as the ambiance goes it can use a little touch up on the parking area because there's potholes everywhere but overall I'd say the parking doesn't really matter in aspects in food. I paid $28.41 for a Triple cheeseburger with Cagney style fries and a Double cheeseburger with onion rings and wasn't charged for ranch. I'd say you can't beat those prices. A lot cheaper than DICKS that's for sure.

We where out and about in Puyallup and ran into his place while looking for the library. My husband loves burgers so we placed an order. Reminds us of a place in Auburn. Basic menu with what comes on all orders. The customer service was good. Due to that traffic you have to talk loud for them to hear you and I liked how she repeated the order to make sure she heard us. I order my burger w/o cheese and I must say it was moist with flavor. They give plenty of yam fries and not enough sauce and they didn't give us napkins. That burger needs napkins!!

It was a little hard to find as we were expecting a brick and mortar building. The cheeseburger was probably the best we've ever had. A hidden gem!

Everything is great minus the wait times. Be prepared for a 20 plus minute wait in the drive through if you go during peak hours. Overall the food is fresh and flavorful. Definitely worth checking out

Saw it on TT as a solid dupe for In n Out, so of course I had to try it. The burger was actually a pretty decent match for an In n Out burger, but it would have been better if they had let me add the Cagney style to it. Not sure if that was a miscommunication or if they genuinely don't do that level of modification. Burger 4/5. I also had the fries, Cagney style which is similar to animal style fries but not as good as In n Out. Fries 3/5 Overall, I would say it was a decent dupe. If I lived closer, I'd eat there more.

My fiancé and I always drove by this place and he always pointed out he wants to try this place and we finally did. There was a line but it's not too bad. When we tried it our first impression was it tasted like in and out burger. The sauce was slightly different but I would say it's very similar. I love that you don't have to pay extra to get sweet potatoes fries or onion rings. This place is definitely really good and I understand why is it so popular! We will definitely coming back and get more!

Absolutely delicious burgers. I do have to admit, it's super spendy, for 12 burgers and 2 fries, the total was $75/$77 I believe. It was well worth it though, just know this is like a splurge place if you're looking for a good burger and don't mind paying about $5-$7 per burger. It's a cute drive thru place but just know they make everything fresh so it does take about 30 min per customer. Highly recommend ordering ahead if you're in a rush or just want to get home. Overall service was great, I appreciated that they put the burgers and fries nicely in like this donut box with a lid so everything wouldn't go flying around in the car while I drove back to my sisters house. Burgers are pretty decent size too! Plus side to this was the fact that my very picky autistic brother even ate two burgers without taking anything off the burger. I was so impressed and shocked.

So hear me out, If In N Out and Dicks had a baby, it would be this delicious burger joint. Holy mother of pearl, this place is so tasty. I regret not getting a double burger and a coke. The burger patty is delicious and you can tell it's quality and fresh. The fries (don't hate on me) I love the differences of soggy and crunchy. As a French fry connoisseur, this was delicious with their dipping sauces. And they gave out HELLA/CHOKE fries. This place is a must try! 10/10 highly recommend!

Fun little stop! A drive-thru only. Burgers were pretty good along with the fries and dipping sauces. I opted for the orange-pineapple homemade drink which was good too. Service was super friendly and patient as I didn't know what I wanted. No ambiance to speak of as there are no seating inside or outside options. Think a mom-and-pop In N Out burger joint. Worth the stop.
