"Not a weekend goes by without a full house at Out-R-Inn. Located conveniently just off High Street, this local dive bar is the place to be before, during, and most definitely after a Buckeye game. The drinks on offer aren’t especially noteworthy, but the bar has witnessed years of fan celebrations and commiserations. Peer at the walls and ceilings, and see if you can spot a familiar signature scrawled there, from the blurry night before or maybe several years prior. If the exposed brick, neon beer signs, and graffiti-covered walls could talk, they’d have stories to tell about plenty of OSU grads." - Angela Lee

Great college bar steps off of High St. The bartenders and bouncers are great guys who are very friendly. Also, the pizza window for the pizza shop Sicilias next door is great for if you’re hungry.

Bartender with no hair on top and a lot of crap on his face was being a power tripping punk for no reason. Very immature behavior from a grown man. Everyone else working there was good! 💪

In terms of a college bar, it’s a perfect “college bar.” Many minors so fake ids must be prevalent (aka college bar). There’s no cover to get in, but also ordering any “drink” costs enough for that. I’ve never seen such a laughable size and plastic cup a drink comes in. The bar was quite big however and does serve beer or seltzers in bottles so we went for that on our second round. There were tons of tvs and half indoors/outdoors style. Interesting and different concept for a college bar I give it credit.

Don’t go here with a service dog They rejected me to enter with my dog on my birthday when I went out with friends. Granted, it’s a college bar and it was a weekend. Although, let’s be real, the law states they cannot do that. My dog is well trained and well behaved. She wasn’t causing any issues and their staff should be better prepared for service animals. A friend of mine told me that he had seen other animals in this bar that were wearing “support” vests which really made me think that I may have gotten rejected entry because I am black. Although this cannot be confirmed or denied All in all, I’m not going back

One of my favorite bars since the early 2000. Big fan of mug night (sunday & Monday). $3 gets you a cool keepsake mug full of beer. Choices include Crispin cider! Also big fan of the screwball peanut butter whiskey shots for $4 right now. Always a happening spot with two stories with multiple pool tables, outdoor areas in the front & big back patio, that is covered.

Google
Great college bar. This place is perfect if you are a student looking for a place to get your drink on or if you are pregaming an OSU football game! They have great deals such as their mug night or nightly liquor deals. Pool tables, darts, corn hole. Very open space with a nice outside patio and bar.

The bouncer denied my friend who is literally 22, called her id fake, and told her not tonight. Shes from another state so I get the extra checking but what would’ve happened if they took her license away?? They didn’t even scan it to make sure. Idk it was just very quick and happened as soon as we got there. She was able to get into every high class bar in the short north when visiting me because she is of age, but not this place? I don’t get it.

If you’re like the throngs of people that frequent this place despite living through the worst pandemic in 100 years, then you should have an awesome time. Masks? Nice try. COVID? Fake news! Beer and football, please. Never mind the fact that the owners are complicit with spreading the virus by letting in dozens of people who all crowd around one another. If you believe that caring about those around you is NOT an infringement on your rights, then you might want to check out a different venue. Otherwise, have fun!

Yelp
A campus tradition!! Grew up and celebrated many of my 21st birthdays here Always friendly bartenders and a welcoming neighborhood bar vibe. You never know who you'll see here! My only argument: bring back mug night!!! Or atleast make them available for purchase for those of us who are too old to visit often, but know that those cups make EVERYTHING taste better!

Yelp
If you are not a fan of campus dive bars, read no further. Your glittering corporate sanitized plastic-fantastic venues line High Street from Worthington to downtown. Go there. The Out R Inn is a rite of passage for generations of Ohio State University students (21 and above only, notably) and their friends/family. This 1980s undergrad loves the place, as does my daughter who graduated this year, my wife who graduated when I did back in the day. My soon to be 21 year-old son is counting down the hours. Why? Is it the pizza by the slice restaurant attached on the front deck? Is it the plastic mugs with refill deals that you end up keeping in your house or apartment for years to come? Is it the pool table? Is it the massive patio out back? Is it the instant camaraderie that develops during any major sporting event a la that scene in Major League when the construction worker hugs the punk rocker? Is it the weird metal staircase out back that leads to an ancient trough urinal? Is it the drink specials? Is it the picnic tables and graffiti-covered walls that harken back to your ill-advised night out last week or last year or last century? Yes, yes, and yes. Admittedly, the era of plastic buckets of beer is gone. However, this place carries on the tradition of being a great campus area watering hole in the heart of the action. Bier Stube, Thirsty Scholar, the Library, and this place are keeping the drive alive...making up for the loss of Mean Mr. Mustard's, Spring Break, Travel Agency, Papa Joe's, Crazy Mama's, Purity, and a hodgepodge of now shuttered campus haunts. Are there nights when it's dead? Of course, that's how bars work. Are there nights (and afternoons) when this place is shoulder to shoulder mayhem? Yep. Those days pay the bills. Come here, grab a beer, and become part of a central Ohio epic journey that started long ago and hopefully never ends. Out R Inn, see you soon.

Yelp
Great place to tailgate before a buckeye game. Bars outside are cash only but reasonably priced drinks. Great crowd and close to the stadium. Open early for good libations!

Adam G.

Yelp
Three words: College dive bar. If you go in knowing that, you won't be too disappointed. Writing all over the walls, tables and chairs. Run down bathrooms (especially upstairs). The inside is kind of small, with a few scattered TV's. They also have a large outdoor area patio area (hence the name) with a bar and more TV's. Largely standing room only outside. I was there for a game day and they had port-o-potty's outside for extra bathrooms. This place was absolutely packed for game day, with very little wiggle room. Again, college dive bar...take that as you will.

Yelp
Old style High St type bar before OSU became WOKE and turned High St, across from campus into a corporate food court.

Yelp
One of my favorite places while I was in college & a fun game day stop still! Love the out r inn staff. Billy is the best!

Yelp
(Note: Out-R-Inn has been wrongly listed as closed. I assure you it is still open. I am opening a new listing due to there being no easy way of sending a correction and reopening the Yelp listing. Be advised.) Out-R-Inn inhabits a Victorian-ish house on an uprise behind a stone wall on Frambes just East of High. It has been here for as long as I remember, a classic student hangout of time past, with sticky floors, and dark damp caverns with the smell of stale with beer. As a student I would come here often to start or end a night, drink and smoke in their large gritty patio, or meet woman which I had more success here than anywhere else. But I out grew it and moved on leaving the ORI to the next generation. Forgotten, I hadn't visited in the last millennium. I had been of late curious to visit and see if it was still the same in an ever changing off-campus scene. And with Mike G one day decided to go for a drink. What I found was a grove of authentic gritty campus among the growing deforestation of gentrification. It hadn't changed much. The long worn bar in the very dark narrow hallway look the same as it did in 1996. The CDs which once filled the wood racks behind the bar are gone but the fixtures are still there; too bad, because back then the music was played full album and was its uniqueness . The rock playlist still permeates the air through the system though. Still a large dive, ORI does not have a selection if craft beers. Beer and other spirits are served in plastic cups--a huge reminder of what once campus was. The bar area remains a dampy escape from the sun, a cool sanctuary. To the right through ancient looking arches is more seating just as windowlessly dark and containing scuffed seating as I remembered. Ah the days when just drinking at a simple table was a thing. Out-R-Inn does not serve food, have bands, nor offer experiences but billiards, darts, and cornhole. The second story still exist in its caverness brick frame of the past. Restrooms dirty and punkish, artistic primitive style graffiti and scratches of names: drunks, lovers, scatological poetry. The best thing about this campus institution is the patio, a sizable chunk wedge close to neighboring houses with bars, picnic tables, and games. I remember springs and falls when school was in they would adorn the fense there with torches giving it a tropical feels. Certainly ORE type places are dying out. Yet for those still wanting a cheep, informal, place to chill the Out-R-Inn provides a relaxed cool place. Lot of memmories flooded my mind when we visited, it's good for there to be a vistage of the campus past. Visit while it lasts.

Yelp
I have tried almost every bar on campus and it seems hard to beat Out-R-Inn for its atmosphere and prices. This is my favorite bar in North Campus bar none, ha ha, because it kicks ass. It's best known for the dollar mug night on Sundays and Mondays. It's also got pretty good drink specials the rest of the week and it's always busy for OSU football. This is a great place if you're looking to experience the fun of campus life. I already mentioned the dollar mug night and how much it kicks ass. This place gets pretty crazy. It's a way to extend the weekend. It should be experienced by any student or alumni. The 16 ounce mugs are like collectors items and they come in cool colors. Each Sunday and Monday you can bring in the mugs and fill them for a fucking buck. It's also got some cheap liquor. There's rum and Coke and Tequila Sunrise for $2.50. On Thursdays they have double well drafts for $1.50 and Long Island Iced Teas for $2.75. There's Cherry Bombs for $3.50. It also has many other specials. There's a $10 credit card minimum so bring cash if you don't feel like getting wasted. It's a cool setup here with indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of entertainment around. There's cornhole, darts, and pool tables. I highly recommend Out-R-Inn to anyone looking for a good bar on campus. It's easy to find a place to drink around there but many miss the mark especially on prices and service. This is a fun place for the entire week and not only for weekends.

Yelp
I ended up here the last time I was on campus with mom and she wanted to revisit some of her stomping grounds from when she was here in the 70's, and the Out-R-Inn was one of the places on the list that is still standing. We were here late in the afternoon on a Friday, and there were some telltale signs that maybe our quiet experience wasn't necessarily the typical atmosphere that they make most of their money on. That being said, the place was great for us. It is an old place, and if bars could talk this one would have a lot to say. It was a dark atmosphere with a lot of wood and brick. It had a dive bar feel. It's a fairly open space inside with a big bar and some tables, along with quite a few pool tables in one area. Out front on the patio are some picnic tables that for some reason only sit about 1 foot off of the ground, and there is also a large open area out back with its own bar that probably fills up during game days. There are enough TVs that you can certainly catch the local games here. The guy working the bar when we were there was really nice. For a college bar, they have a surprisingly large selection of craft beers in bottles and cans. The prices were great, and their stuff of special was even better. We only saw a few other people stop in when we were there, but I'm guessing if we had gone back in 6 hours it would have been a little busier. I'm too far removed from college to hit up that scene anymore, but I would certainly stop by again for a few beers in the late afternoon. We got enough rounds that I could hear a bunch of stories about mom and dad doing all of the thing in college that I was told not to do, and then we moved along. The beer was cold, the prices were cheap, and the atmosphere was inviting. I'll certainly make this a stop the next time I am in town.

Yelp
Honestly loved this place. Dave was so hot and hospitable. Wondering if he does private security. Thx

McKenzie S.

Yelp
the best OSU bar and it's not even close! drinks are cheap, strong, and it's such a casual hangout, and it's great on Gamedays too!

Emily L.

Yelp
Reasonably priced drinks, lots of pool and corn-hole boards, and a great environment overall! Definitely had a wonderful time and will be back to this little dive on High!

Zach R.

Yelp
Despicable door and wait staff. When arriving to the front door, my girlfriend and I were turned away because of our South Carolina IDs. We are from Columbia and we're visiting friends from Ohio on our trip home for the holidays. DO NOT GO HERE. The front door staff threatens to call the police on us, even when we tried to show our student ids to USC. Quite horrifying honestly. Will never come back here. I recommend nobody but drunkard college kids try and drink here.

Nick D.

Yelp
As a non-OSU grad, I have never been or heard of Out-R-Inn until I was invited to a Happy Hour there over the summer. I enjoyed its atmosphere as a dicey college bar. We played cornhole on the back patio which was a pretty good size for the size of the bar. I can only picture that place on a Friday or Saturday night...madness of drunk college students. It seems like the bar I would end up at for the final drink(s) before heading home if I went to OSU. So I have one question for you: Are you Out-R-Inn? 4/5 stars

Crystal H.

Yelp
The bar is adorable and smells so rustic. The drinks were a tad on the weaker side. The picnic tables in the back are incredibly short (think preschool size!) the bathrooms are odd. The stairs to the bathroom were wonky. Had our drinks been stronger, I may have not made it up the stairs to the bathroom. They played good music, and bar tender was adorable.

Jessica C.

Yelp
This is definitely in my top 3 bars in Columbus. It really reminds me of Zeitgeist back in San Francisco. This bar was originally a house and sports a huge porch our front and a patio out back. Upstairs are pool tables and a small patio. This bar is not the prettiest but is so much fun! I'm a huge fan of sitting outside and Out-R-Inn is perfect for those warm summer nights. Best of all, Out-R-Inn has dollar beer night on Sundays. You have to buy one of their mugs, which is large and sports their name, but after that purchase, all beers are $1 and you can bring the mug back whenever! I miss this bar and when I visit Columbus I can guarantee you will find me there, sipping a cold beer outside under the stars.

Matthew L.

Yelp
Love this place! They have fantastical daily drink specials, nice pool tables in the main area as well as upstairs, cornhole, a nice back patio area, wood finish ever'where, and the best bartender in Columbus, Marcus! Drink prices are great, plenty of televisions and nice seating. Also, if there's a liquor that they don't have that you are a big fan of, it doesn't hurt to ask - thanks to the awesomeness of Marcus, they now have two different cucumber vodkas on hand (the Effen gets mine vote as the better of the two).

Peter G.

Yelp
If you are a college student or a recent grad at OSU this is probably your alma mater for drinks or just place where your dad use to go. Monday and Sunday night are $1 mug nights plus the back patio is kinda like if your neighbor decided it was cool to throw a year long party. Great seating outside. Really great music played in the background. Here's an example playlist (TV on the Radio, Black Keys, Radiohead, B.y.b.o., My Morning Jacket, and some rappish stuff) This is a non douche bar on Campus in my opinion. Like it! :)

Elle R.

Yelp
Freakin sucks and smells like rotting asshole. Phones are stolen constantly also the general manager hits girls and flat out admits it. Please for the love of God do not waste your time or money on this portajohn bar. Staff is EXTREMELY rude. Also always WAY over capacitated. My friends phone was stolen along with my dignity and pride.

Jackie H.

Yelp
Dolla' dolla' mug y'all. Count me in. Aside the house party beer games often being played (think quarters, cards, and pong)- this place can be a social gathering hotspot. I cherish Out-R-Inn for it's charming appeal, and stay for the cheap beer. Solid way to spend a Sunday/Monday night.

Emmi B.

Yelp
Best Ohio State campus bar there is. I'm there every single Thursday for $1.50 double wells & the crowd of fun people who are all actually of age, which is rare on campus. Mug nights on Sunday and Monday nights are great - $2.25 blue moons and $1.75 for other beers in the out r inn mugs! Go Bucks this place is a keeper

John T.

Yelp
Two dollar wells on Thursday's!! This is an awesome bar. Unique feel to it, a little more towny and not so campus-y but still in a great location. The service is always great and the drinks are even better. A bit more of a mature feel to it since they are pretty strict on fake IDs, which I've now come to somewhat appreciate. Always love going to "out r".

Stephanie B.

Yelp
I couldn't decide whether to give Out-R-Inn three or four stars. I wish I could give it 3.5. As far as campus bars go, this is one of my favorites, but it just depends on the night. Sometimes I come here and have an amazing time, other times it's hell. It all depends on how crowded it is. I'll start with what I love about Out-R-Inn. There's a lot. First of all, this is the most interesting-looking bar on campus. It used to be a house, and while it's old, it's pretty because it's all wooden and to get in the front door you have to climb some stone steps and then you're on this cool front porch area that does have some places to sit down. The inside is pretty big. The bar is right inside the door, and the building is sectioned off into large rooms. There are pool tables and the back is open to a great patio. On the patio you'll find wooden picnic tables and there is a bar out here. A great place to hang out in the summer. In the winter, they cover the patio so you can still hang out in the space. There's a set of stairs and some pool tables upstairs, and there you'll find the bathrooms. I like the crowd here. Yeah, it's a lot of students, but for the most part everyone keep to themselves and are pretty chill. I don't see fights and drama going on here. Out-R-Inn is in the north campus area on Frambes, just around the corner from High St. I used to live on Norwich so I'd walk down here all the time. There is also a heavenly pizza place right next door. You can go over there, get a pizza and bring it back in here to eat with your friends on the patio. We used to do this all the time in the summer. The pizza is delicious - great drunk food. It's pretty greasy, but the crust is soft and chewy and they load on the cheese. What more do you want when you're trying to soak up all that beer? The music is always kick-ass too - less mainstream than other campus bars. Out-R-Inn is famous for their mugs. At some point in their lives, it seems like every OSU student acquires dozens of these plastic mugs in neon colors with a picture of Out-R-Inn on them. In fact, I have several in my kitchen cupboard right now. When you get these mugs, you bring them in on Mondays and Tuesdays and fill them with beer for $1. Gotta love that. Definitely the best nights to come here in the summer, because the beers are cheap and the students are gone so it's not crowded. I really love this bar in the summer. That leads me to the stuff I don't like about Out-R-Inn. The crowdedness. Oh my god this place gets packed, especially around football season. I'll never forget, the last time I was there, it took my friend and I half an hour to make our way to the back bar because it was so packed. It was insane, very uncomfortable and pointless. As I mentioned, wait for the kids to go home for the summer and take advantage of this place then. I give Out-R-Inn 5 stars in the summer and 1 or 2 when the students are back full force. It becomes a whole different bar. It smells in here. Yeah, I know it's old, but it kinda smells like dried up puke and I wish they could do something about it. Another reason I like to sit on the patio. But. No joke, one time when my friends and I were sitting at a table on the patio over the summer, we looked over to see several rats running around chasing each other. Yep. Big furry rats. I only saw them that once, and I thought it was kinda funny because they were playing, but my friends were grossed out and wanted to leave. The rats were in the cornhole area, so they ended up scurrying away when some people came to play. The service isn't so great. Of course it's hard to get a beer when it's crowded, but sometimes that doesn't matter. The bartenders are often rude and there's a $10 limit on credit cards here and they don't warn you. That means you're in it for the long haul if you open up a tab on $1 mug night by accident, which I've done several times. When you're not here for mug night or happy hour, the drink prices suddenly become not so impressive. Sometimes it can get expensive. I stick to the $1 mugs so I expect to stick to beers if I come here. The bathrooms are kinda crazy. Everything in there is covered by writing and they are small. If it's crowded, forget even going in there, you'll be in line forever. It's pretty well stocked, but they have those disgusting fabric hand towels instead of paper towels. You know, the ones where you pull them through the machine and they "clean" themselves? Hopefully they have done away with that since then. Parking also sucks. Not easy to find a spot on the street most of the time. Overall it depends. This place reaches its full potential in the summertime, so I highly recommend coming on a summer mug night to take advantage of the cheap beer, sit outside at one of the tables, and enjoy the fact that all the students are back home, not in here crowding the place. I really love it here then. Other than that, this place can get pretty overwhelming and I tend to steer clear.

Nicole B.

Yelp
I'll admit, Out-R-Inn had some pretty decent prices and specials when I went, not to mention the outdoor patio was extremely enjoyable in the warm weather. However, my biggest grief with this bar was how many college students were playing drinking games there such as Quarters and Cornhole. WTF? This is NOT your frat house, the apartment you live in, or a party you're at! This was extremely annoying for me and my group because we don't go out to bars to play games, we go out to drink. So, when drunk college girls are spilling pitchers at us trying to to play some asinine game, we're not going to be happy. I might go back to Out-R-Inn again, now that the summer is here and most students have left. Perhaps I'll try a different day of the week, and maybe I wont encounter the same crowd. But generally it was very discouraging, and I'd probably just go to Larry's instead.

Anissa J.

Yelp
On thursdays 1.50 for double wells. You can get hammered for less than 10 bucks. Favorite bar with my favorite bartender -- billy parrott!!

Dom R.

Yelp
This place is notorious for their "mug nights" where one can procure a 20 oz domestic for $1.00. On sundays/mondays during the warmer months it is the place to be. I have some issues with mug night... 1. The wait for a beer can sometimes be atrocious. 2. After you are intimidated to tip on every budget beer, it really turns out to not be that great of a deal. You also have to put $10 on tabs, so bring singles. 3. I don't think they clean the hoses to their kegs, as I almost always get the beer-sh@ts after drinking there. 4. The men's "bathroom" is a trough atop a dangerous flight of steel stairs that puts the pisser in prime view of the crowd out back. Somehow, this place also attracts local regulars, give me a break. Anyway, if you are in the campus area you will more than likely be dragged by an insistent friend to go to "mug night." It is pretty much the only place to meet people during the deserted summer months too.

Casey B.

Yelp
Awesome specials. Mug nights are Sunday and Monday, the best deal here in Columbus. The bartenders are also fun and really friendly, shout out to Nobli who's the greatest. They also have a bunch of pool tables to shoot on. Plus, PJ's is right across the street for some awesome late nighty munchies.

James C.

Yelp
this was a fun time for a group of out-of-towners. Great vibe.

Amanda Z.

Yelp
OK, I got taken here by my ridiculously Buckeye obsessed boyfriend...he has two degrees and lived in Columbus for 10 years. He says this is his favorite bar and now I know why! We hit it up on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty dead, but I can imagine what it's like filled with cheering fans. And $1.50 for a beer and a diet coke? I was in bar heaven. Plus it looks like there are lots of things to do on non-game days (bags, basketball hoop, etc.). All in all, I could imagine this bar being one of my favorite hang-outs if I was in school there.

Aaron B.

Yelp
I'm here for a business trip, staying in a nearby hotel and decided to go out for some drinks, stumbled across this place. Very impressed with the atmosphere, the bartender is gorgeous along with others in the bar! Definitely gonna come back, also the beer is cheap lol

Nathan L.

Yelp
Campus Bar Done Right. So many get it wrong. Dozens a decade try and fail. Out-R-In has been a bastion bastardly wastedness for seemingly forever. When I first got to Ohio State I heard that the place had been rated one of the top 10 campus bars in the country. By Playboy. Cool. Since then they have made drastic improvements. To this day I still love to go back on a saturday during football season when I cannot see the Buckeyes on TV (Damn You Big Ten Network and Time Warner! F-ing work it out already!!!). Playboy should stop back in soon to update the list. My money says Out-R-Inn retains it's place.

Emily W.

Yelp
We hate your tables....... FIGURE IT OUT! We aren't in pre-k!!!!!! If I wanted to break my legs I would tell a car to run over me. Thanks but no thanks!

Richard B.

Yelp
One of OSU's greatest and most unique bars. Mug nights are legendary. Being about 5 years removed from graduating, I'm way too old to frequent this place, but make it in before or after a few football games a year. It's big enough and has enough flow to handle the large crowds. Pretty good music is played or at least not your typical top 40 stuff found at most college bars. Pizza place next store smells incredible and is greasy enough to soak up some of the cheap beer you are sure to have consumed. The oddest thing about this place I notice now that I'm a little bit older is that everyone in it tends to be really drunk. Like fall down, spilling stuff all over drunk. Have never really seen it create any huge problems, but just something to be aware of. Especially if you are a dude trying to navigate the stairs to the bathroom.

Pete C.

Yelp
It's pointless to beat around the bush when you're talking about an off campus bar that's as cherished as Out 'R Inn. The drafts taste watered down, the bathrooms are filthy, every square inch of every wall is covered in graffiti from senior crawlers, and there's hardly any happy medium between the place being completely dead or packed to the gills. Now that that's out of the way, I have no problem declaring that this lovable dump has been my favorite OSU bar since I first set foot in the place almost four years ago. A night at Out 'R Inn is truly a blank slate in every sense of the term- it's as fun as you make it. That may sound trite and applicable to just about ever other bar in the area, but this place is the real deal when it comes to hassle-free Midwestern Power Drinking. No one will dispute that it's incredibly easy to overcome just about any obstacle to having a good time when you're here. Is your shady ex-girlfriend stalking you in the wing? Go play pool upstairs until you shake her. Is there a bro-train of frat guys taking shot after shot and monopolizing the bar? There are two other bars no more than 20 feet away- find one of them and move on with your life. Did you get ambushed by a cute girl's fat roommate while waiting in line for mugs? Hide from her in the dark alley next to the bar until she loses interest in stalking you. Or better yet, knock back cheap well shots until she's interesting enough to bear and head back to said alley. The bar itself is made from an old duplex home, making the area inside dingy and claustrophobic. The patio out back, however, is the stuff dreams are made of. With it's kid-sized picnic tables (that you're guaranteed to split your shins open on if you're not careful) and ivy-clad fences, one might think they woke up in a tree house if they had a few too many shots of Jagermeister here. The patio takes up more than half the property of the bar, and it's the undisputed champ of party porches in the greater Columbus area.. Out 'R Inn truly shines on a hot Sunday or Monday evening during the summer. If you ever got the impression that campus was a ghost town during summer quarter, stop by on either of those nights for $1 mug night and prepare to be proven wrong. You'd be hard pressed to not run in to half of the people you might while going to OSU within a half hour period of time, and it'd be even harder to find any of them in a state of consciousness where they'll remember meeting you in the first place. The list of people that I've met for the first time over and over here is endless and will surely provide fond me with outlandish memories for many years to come. With 16 oz mugs of Bud, Bud Light, or Miller Light for only a dollar a piece, mug night at Out 'R Inn is hands down the definitive night out for an OSU student of any background. If you haven't woken up drunk an hour before your first Monday class in someone's bushes on Frambes or Woodruff with a neon mug in your hand and a cel phone full of strange new phonebook entries like "B0b Th7" and "Green Shirt Toledo Chick!", you should be barred from receiving your diploma upon graduation. In other words, this is as college as it gets, my friends. Mug night aside, the bar has a few other perks. The staff here is a collection of grizzled veterans that have been there longer than anyone can remember, and they don't mess around when it comes to serving you as efficiently as possible. They also have had the fine judgment to disconnect the jukebox and play music off their iPods, which is always upbeat and reasonable. You might be hearing nothing but Nine Inch Nails or The Black Keys for hours on end, but that's you'll never hear me complain about that. The specials on the off nights (i.e. Tuesday through Saturday) have gotten better as of recently, but it's hard to complain about the prices here anyways. It's plausible that you can make the room spin for under $20 dollars, and after looking around at the place for a minute, it's easy to get confused as to where that money ends up in the first place. And on mug night, not even half that amount of money will put you on the floor in no time. If you're in the mood for scenery, you're in the wrong place. But if you came to drink first and ask questions later, Out 'R Inn will soon become your home away from home.

Yelp
It's a cheap bar with cheap drinks, so it has that going for it. Unaccountably shitty service, though. I've actually had a bartender walk over to me, talk to me about the drinks and what I wanted, and then walk away for five minutes, never coming back. Perhaps she thought I'd wandered in just to admire their beer selection. Regardless, you can do better.

Yelp
If you are young and free on Thursdays this is the place to be! Can't be lay $1.50 double wells. The music is always pretty good, they have pool, and the indoor/ outdoor layout is fun

Yelp
If you are a current college student or recent grad....heck, even if you are simply an alum...this place is awesome. I lived a block away from this bar my Jr/Sr years of school and I miss the 2 minute walk to and from. =D They have Mug Nights on Sunday/Monday where the beer is cheap and you get to keep a pretty brightly colored mug. Their regular priced drinks are cheap and stong.....a rum+coke is $2.50 so you can't beat it. Thursday nights they have $2.75 Long Island Ice Teas that are about 20 ounces. And I think they have (had?) free pool on Tues/Wednesday nights too with $3 pitchers. This bar is super chill, great music (don't know if it's someone's iPod or a radio stations or what...but it's usually good), plenty of pool tables downstairs and upstairs and darts up there as well. Outdoor bar and corn hole with picnic tables when it's nice out. And another bar over by the pizza place that's next door. The ambiance of this place is the best....you don't' have to get dressed up, the bar tenders know what they are doing and are fast and nice. Writing all over the walls, and really anywhere you can get writing to stick due to many 'o Senior Crawl nights. This was hands down one of my favorite bars while in school (and like I said the walk wasn't bad), even ran into some professors there a couple times as well. Highly recommend if you want a cool/chill place to hang with friends.

Yelp
Yes, this place is dingy. Yes, the women's bathroom is sometimes gross. But overall, it's a decent place close to campus to enjoy cheap drinks with good company. It's got two floors and plenty of space. On Friday nights during happy hour, it's usually empty, which is great if you're the type to avoid crowds. During warmer days, it's nice to sit on one of the tables outside and play a few rounds of cornhole (you have to ask the bartender for the bean bags, and he might ask for your ID or something else to hold on to as collateral until you're finished).

Yelp
I like this place pretty well. Great to go to on a nice day. It gets its name from the fact that they open up the back of the place when the weather is nice so it feels like you're outside and inside at the same time. I'd avoid mug nights unless you feel like fighting through a crowd to chug swill with the kiddies on the cheap.

Yelp
Aside from having incredibly cheap drinks and a decent pizza joint next door, I don't see why everyone loves Out-R-Inn so much. I suppose I'll have to visit again during football season.

Yelp
As someone who goes to bars about 3 times a week and has pretty much done them all at this point, I think this is easily the best bar on campus. They have it all. Pool, darts, music that doesn't suck (how refreshing!), a somewhat seedy upstairs area to discreetly do whatever it is that your into, corn hole, dancing around the bar, TV to watch football games.... they literally have it all. $1.50 double well drinks on Thursdays too, so it looks like I'm never gonna be going to Chumlees for Thursday Night Football again. The atmosphere is dope. Check it out.

Yelp
My favorite bar in Columbus. A friend recently reminded me of how it used to smell on our walk home from class (like the aftermath of a big house party) and it made me really sad and nostalgic. It's great when it's crowded in the spring and everyone is packed into the back patio, and it's great at slower times when you can sprawl out with pitchers and chat with friends. It's fun to shoot pool upstairs even when the tables eat your money. I don't remember them ever having much exciting on tap, but I could always get something that I wanted in a bottle. There's pizza right next door. It's chill and comfortable. Crown jewel of the college life.

Yelp
Probably my favorite campus bar in my hometown of Columbus! I love coming home in the fall for a football weekend, and I ALWAYS end up here and one point or another. Always a fun crowd--especially on gamedays. And let's be real, how can you not love a place that sells you a large mug then offers $1.00 beer. Love it! And Go Bucks!

Yelp
Literally my favorite bar of all time when I was in college. Go Bucks.

Yelp
Definitely a college bar, kind of dive-y and gross but that's a part of the charm. Can't beat $1.50 double wells on Thursday nights. Also love the atmosphere during the summer. Mostly outdoor seating though, so not my favorite place during the winter. They have corn hole outside and pool inside on both the first and second floors. Although on busy nights, it's hard to get a game. Mug nights are on Sunday's and Monday's, I believe. Not usually crowded on Sunday's, but fun to go with your friends and hang out. A decent place to catch any games, but definitely not a sports bar. Also, I've always gotten great service from the bartenders, even when it's packed. Oh yeah, it's also connected to Sicilia's which is a plus.

Yelp
Best bar on campus. Hands down! Everytime I go back to visit we always hit up this place for some day-time drinking. Gameday or not, this is my fave!

Yelp
This is probably my favorite bar on campus. However, I would never go there on a Sunday or Monday (dollar mug night) because it's incredibly packed. The rest of the nights it is a nice divey bar to play some pool and throw back a pitcher. Also, the patio area is pretty awesome. The biggest downside is the bathrooms are a little cramped, and on weekdays they frequently close the upstairs area. Drinks are decently priced. The bouncers can be a bit grumpy in my experience.
