OUTRIGGER Maldives Maafushivaru

Had a trip here back in December 2024 and this resort is just perfect. The service was impeccable, absolutely everyone was so incredibly friendly. The rooms were beautiful. Every meal we had was amazing. I’d go back in a heartbeat. The resort wasn’t overly busy so we often felt like the only people on the whole entire island.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was one of the best experiences of our life. The property is beautiful and well maintained. It is on the smaller side for Maldives which makes it secluded and intimate. The highlight however, is the staff - everyone was extremely kind, friendly, and attentive and knew us by name from the first day we set foot on the island. The level of care and initiative taken by the staff truly makes your stay special. Special shout-out to: Jacob, Franci, Chiara from the Dive centre. They were kind, generous, and extremely knowledgeable. Our boat crew - Saleem, Ayhum who made our trips safe and enjoyable Chandana, Joy (Jyothsana), Shashanka, Rizan, Mizhi, Viali who waited on us on multiple occasions. You were a joy to speak to and we were always interested in your experiences and stories Also to Azlif, Thail, Zayan, Mamdooh who were attentive across our stay Finally our GSA Ziyadh was on top of everything and really went out of his way to accommodate our requests. Additional details: Rooms - Stayed in the over-water pool villa. Huge room and bathroom with a beautiful view and direct access to the amazing house reef Marine life/house reef - Corals are bleached but there are a few spots where it is beautiful. However, throngs of Marine life on the reef - a range of reef fish, reef sharks, eagle rays, blue spotted stingrays and much more Activities - Kayaking, Stand-up paddle, pool table, table-tennis, darts and more Food - Lots of veggie options across all restaurants and food for the most part was great. Make reservations in advance for dinner restaurants though as they can get crowded Overall would highly recommend the resort for couples and families alike

We had a fantastic few days on the island with my husband. Thank you to our housekeeper, Moosa. He answered our questions every day, helped with spa appointments, and took us to the infirmary when my husband needed to go. Our English was not very good, and we were also given meticulous communication and service. The restaurant on the island was delicious, while the sunset pool water house was very good

Was here during Christmas time and it was beautiful! The rooms were spacious and clean and the food was 10/10! Also drinks were amazing too. The spa services were great, I got the seaweed treatment too and it was very nice.

I have recently returned from Outrigger and all I can say is Wow! What a truly beautiful island. I have visited the Maldives several times, but this was by far the prettiest island. It is very small, but perfectly formed. The beaches are stunning and the sand is like icing sugar. The colours of the water are magnificent, and the standards are impeccable.|For such a small island there are plenty of dining options. No less than 5 restaurants, all serving delicious food. We stayed on the dine around all inclusive, and the food just keeps coming and coming. Breakfast is plentiful and has lots of choice. Lunch is a la carte and the menu is never ending, with various specials served each day, you will never get bored. For dinner you have the choice of the buffet restaurant, or 3 a la carte restaurants. All were wonderful. Our island host, Naaif, had already pre-booked all our restaurants for us upon our arrival (These could obviously be changed if not suitable) So we got to experience everything within our stay without any worry. Naaif was always on hand for any queries or questions, and we actually joked at one point how we thought he had us tagged, as every time we had a question, he seemed to appear by magic!|The staff at the pool bar were incredible at helping with sun loungers and towels, and always on hand to get you drinks, and we never had an empty glass. |Snorkelling at outrigger was wonderful. The weather was a little bit hit and miss when we visited, so we didn't quite manage to swim out to the reef at the end of the water villa jetty, but the ocean just off the main jetty and beach was teaming with fish. |We stayed in an over water villa with jacuzzi and it was perfect! it was spotlessly clean when we arrived and stayed that way. Although again the cleaning staff were like magicians, as you never actually seen them come or go. There were a few lovely little touches in the room upon arrival, and the minibar was a treat and never seemed to empty. (Again magic) |I would absolutely recommend this island 100% but do be aware that it is very quiet. Sometimes we were literally the only people in the bar. We didn't mind this, but its something to be aware of.

A Stay to Remember – Even Better the Second Time! Visiting this hotel for the second time felt like coming back home. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and heartfelt welcomes — many of the staff even remembered our names, which added such a personal and comforting touch. Their kindness and attention made us feel safe, cared for, and truly valued as guests. The food was absolutely amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options to suit every taste. Every meal felt like a culinary experience, and the quality and freshness were consistent throughout our stay. The staff were exceptional — always friendly, attentive, and eager to make sure we had everything we needed. It’s rare to find such a genuine level of hospitality these days. Their constant check-ins, without being intrusive, really made the difference. Housekeeping was top-notch as well, always professional and proactive. They regularly asked if we wanted our room cleaned more than once a day, which added to the luxury and comfort of our stay. We also indulged in the spa services, which were heavenly. The spa was spotlessly clean, and every treatment left us feeling relaxed and refreshed. One lovely detail — even the cleaning boy took pride in his work, carefully cleaning the pathway to the beach daily. It’s this kind of care that stands out. Overall, this was a trip to remember, and I’ll definitely be returning again and again. A huge thank you to everyone on the island — you made our stay so special. I have no hesitation in giving maximum marks to Outrigger Maldives. From the moment we arrived until we set foot on the seaplane back to Male our anniversary holiday was everything, we hoped for…and more.||My wife and I spent 9 nights on an over water villa to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. I wish we had done this for our 2nd,|5th, 10th and 25th anniversary. I don’t know how they did it but the staff found out our exact anniversary date and booked us into the Moodhu Grill in one of their special POD’s. Complimentary sparkling wine was supplied, a celebration desert was produced from the kitchen and our bed was decorated on our return to the villa. The staff went out of their way to make our day, and the entire holiday special. Everyone was welcoming and knowledgeable about the resort: from the cheesecake (thanks Joy), from when and where the turtles could be seen to the culture of the Maldives Peninsula self. |I haven’t eaten so much in any holiday ever: breakfast from eggs (any way you can imagine) to noodles, curry, cold meats, cereal tomlical cuisine. 3 course lunches and 3 course dinners and all delivered to the highest quality.|I purchased a cheap(ish) action camera with a waterproof case to take a video of any fish I could see while in the water. Although, not a great swimmer we spent most days with our complimentary snorkelling equipment finding fish, turtles and reef sharks, and generally having fun in the water.||We saw a shark swim under our villa on day 1, day 2 we were in the water with a shark swimming past. By day 3 we were trying to follow sharks…how mad is that?
