Ovation Bistro & Bar, Davenport

So we visited this place while on vacation and I must say they were very accommodating! We came in at maybe 9:30 and the place closed at 10. We had a party of 10! I’m sure the kitchen staff was like WTH!?!?!? lol! Either way the manager (I think his name was Mike) did a great job of trying to entertain us with his tunes! I hate I didn’t get our waitress name but she was absolutely amazing! For the most part the food was pretty good! My son enjoyed his wings! My husband had a steak and no steak sauce was needed which speaks volumes! Now our party originates from Memphis so we KNOW good ribs and although the ribs were not Memphis style they were still pretty decent. My daughter wasn’t really a fan of the crab cakes but she’s a seafood connoisseur so it’s hard to please her! The manager recommended the brisket and while it was nice & tender it was a bit too fatty & lacked the smoke flavor I’m accustomed to. The green beans were delicious & the salad was very fresh! My sister had their potato skins with chicken & they were huge! Overall it was a great experience & I will definitely visit them again when we are back in the area!

Absolutely delicious food! I ordered the shrimp fettuccine and my husband had the steak with baked sweet potatoes—both were outstanding. The kids really enjoyed their meals too, especially the burger and grilled cheese. Our server, Jason, was fantastic—funny, attentive, and incredibly courteous. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

Jason made our vacation dinner a memorable night! He was personable, warm, & funny. Great with my boys even. And the food was delicious...Caesar salads, ribs, brisket, pasta, grilled cheese, and I enjoyed the local beer choice. (Thanks for the "swim" Jason!) And taking good care of us tonight!

I don’t know if the reviews are here are true but from my experience the food was completely nasty. I order 40 mins prior to closing, so maybe the chef gave whatever was left over. But the ribs were hard, both Mac and cheese including Caesar salad was nasty. Only ate a piece of leaf. I had to throw away all the sides, expect the two pieces of asparagus we had got. Also had got ribeye steak asked for medium well, and got well done but it seasoned, so I couldn’t complain about that. Other than that, everything else was disgusting. We were only offer $25 after spending roughly around $70. Definitely won’t come back!

We are from TX and dined at Ovation this weekend with a group of 18. We booked our time on Open Table, although it said “it wasn’t a reservation” our table was ready the moment our large group walked in. Our waitress was great, she made drinks appear without being asked for a refill. Our food was served quickly. Some of the items we ordered were the ribs, steak, crab cakes, shrimp, pasta, lobster Mac. I had the wedge salad and it was amazing. Everyone else said their meal was great and their steaks cooked perfectly. Our entire group recommends Ovation for a local dining experience. Total bill with 20% tip was around $500. This includes roughly 7 beers and other nonalcoholic beverages. I also appreciated our waitress telling my parents that tip was added in and how much was pre-designated.

I had no idea how good this place would be! Our server Jason was phenomenal and was spot on with his recommendations. He recommended lamb with a loaded baked potato and broccoli. I went with his recommendation and was very pleased! We also ordered loaded potato skins with chicken and buffalo chicken dip. Both were great, but the buffalo chicken dip was especially good. The buffalo chicken dip came with house-made chips that were phenomenal. Everything I tried was great and we will definitely return. Thank you to Ovation and Jason for a great family meal!

My wife and I came in for a small late dinner. Tyler was our server and he was awesome, he explained the entire menu, told us about specials and gave us time to choose. We decided to get a cesear salad full rack of ribs and a order of shrimp. The ribs were fantastic, you would of thought that this was a bbq place with how good they were and the shrimp were massive. This place has cool vibes, a big bar menu and alot of diversity in their menu. We will definitely be coming back to try some other things.

First time and it was awesome. We had brunch and might come back for dinner. Food was spectacular and so was the service! Alex our server/bartender was exceptional.

Amazing place! Atmosphere is great. Staff is fast, attentive, and upbeat. Food is worth it! Brussel sprouts appetizer is excellent! Looks like a small portion, but perfect for two and delicious. Homemade Cesar dressing great!! BBQ was awesome. Steaks perfectly cooked. Drinks were great too. Highly recommend. One of the best meals we've ever had.

Cool spot. It's a cool classy southern hipster atmosphere, is how I would describe it. Our server was good. I ordered the ribs and brisket combo. Ribs had that light crisp on the outside. And their brisket were pretty good pieces of tender beef. Well portioned food for its price.

This is a busy spot! They have outdoor patio seating available and they have a happy hour every day from 3-6 pm if you sit at the patio or bar. The patio is dog friendly FYI. We were seated right away and take care of quickly. I ordered the Spicy sweet salmon with a Caesar salad, garlic mashed potatoes and added an additional premium side of asparagus. My son got the kids cheeseburger. Both meals were delicious! My son approved of the burger! the Caesar salad felt like more of a wedge salad based on the size of the lettuce leaves and they were all clumped together. I had to cut into it (a first for me on a salad lol) but it was delicious and fresh. The salmon was tender and grilled to perfection. The mashed potatoes were very hot! I may have burned my tongue on them. They were a bit bland, so I drizzled some gold bbq sauce on them. The asparagus was huge and a bit tough on the ends. Overall a good meal!

I was really hopeful going into our first trip to Ovation Bistro & Bar in Davenport. The menu was right up my alley, the outdoor seating area looked great and the vibe seemed laid back. Unfortunately, our experience was subpar across the board. We were seated quickly at a table near the entrance but and spent a bit more than 10 minutes before our drink orders were taken. In the meantime, we got to enjoy the extremely dim overhead lights flickering into our faces. We asked our server for recommendations and she was very accommodating in suggesting the brisket and sirloin and to avoid the chicken. We happily obliged. My Brisket entree came with a salad and a side. My Caesar salad was interestingly served as a whole slab of salad rather than chopped or diced. Aside from being a little odd to cut it up myself, it was best thing I ate. My brisket and upgraded Lobster Mac and Cheese side arrived looking tasty but both were disappointing. The Brisket was quite dry and was fattier than I expected given the relatively small portion. The Lobster Mac was the real disappointment. The bread crumbs on to were burnt and the noodles were swimming in water that wasn't drained properly before being mixed with the cheese and the rest of the ingredients. The unfortunate icing on top was the lackluster service. We never were offered drink refills and it took quite a long time to both receive the check and have the waitress come to collect our payment. The restaurant was not crowded whatsoever, with maybe 4 tables seated inside and maybe 3-4 outside, so it seemed like we were just being ignored. I'm unsure if we'll go back anytime soon to give it another shot.

This is a beautiful restaurant at the end of a strip mall and after leaving the Tampa RV Super Show we decided to find a bite to eat before heading home and this place definitely looked like what we were looking for. We arrived early afternoon (Saturday) and found the restaurant mostly empty and no one at the bar, so we grabbed a booth. Our server greeted us and passed out the menus and gave us a few suggestions which we appreciated, she returned with warm bread, butter and our beverages and we placed our order, we both decided on the burger and fries - they arrived after a few minutes cooked as we ordered but basically dropped off the food and disappeared without seeing if we needed anything else, I noticed they forgot the ketchup and mayonnaise we ordered on the side so after waiting a few more minutes I went to the bar and requested both again and refills - finally the condiments arrived but no refills on our beverages that were sitting on the edge of the table empty. I finally was able to get another servers attention and she took care of it. The burger was just okay as were the fries definitely nothing memorable or anything I'd order again we were hungry so we ate it all and requested our check. I felt the entire experience was over-priced and not a good value, I've noticed quite a few negative reviews from frequent customers in reference to the decline in service, maybe it's turn over, lack of training or lack of management I didn't notice a manager anywhere in sight during our visit unfortunately we probably would not return...

This was my first time coming to Ovation Bistro & Bar - my husband and I decided to drop in due to the extremely high ratings for the Davenport area, and had high hopes. I was a little disappointed that out of all of the empty tables, we were sat directly next to the front door entrance so any foot traffic would come directly behind me, but that's just being nitpicky. We mentioned that it was our first time here, and were hoping to get recommendations, and our waitress mentioned that the steak and brisket were specialties because of the cherry wood smoker. I ordered the 6oz sirloin medium rare, with garlic mashed potatoes as the side. You also get an option of salad as a side, however the waitress let me know that you could get an additional side instead, so I opted for green beans. Knowing that Ovation specializes in steak, I was extremely disappointed to learn that my medium rare steak was medium, bordering on medium-well. The seasoning was great on it, but I do wish that it had been cooked to the order. The garlic mashed potatoes were decent, and the green beans were AMAZING. Definitely the highlight of the dinner. I wanted to give this a 4 star rating, but unfortunately, despite it not being busy during our time there, it took 10 minutes after sitting down to get our drinks ordered, our waitress never checked on us throughout, and we were never offered refills for our drinks. I would be open to returning and trying something new, but I definitely want to try out other restaurants before I would consider coming back here.

Great food, great customer service and cool ambiance with fun company. In the area for a baseball game (college)

This place looks casual but has the service and food of a 5 star restaurant. ALL the servers and runners were observant and cleared empty plates (apps, salad ect) immediately and very attentive to refills. We had several clear plates just as they were passing by. These were the nicest servers. Now to the food. Brussel sprout appetizer was amazing. Definitely enough to share. Even a non brussel sprout eater loved this. I had crab cakes and 2 huge sides as well as a salad. The crab cakes had real crab and not much filler. These were very good. The others in my party had filets and loaded sweet potato. The filets were tender and delicious. No room for desserts but next time we will try the carrot cake. Everything was wonderful. Food and service TOP NOTCH!!

Fantastic steaks !!! You won't be disappointed with anything you order. Prices are very reasonable. We were on vacation and just happened to find this gem.

This place is great. I went with my husband and we loved the vibe there. The food was delish (lamb chops and a burger) and our server Susie was so awesome and sweet! 10/10 highly recommend

The restaurant has lots of choices for meat eaters and vegetarians. Just by checking in, I earned 5% off of the bill. That was appreciated for a party of twelve. Our server was nice. It was challenging having everyone's food hot when all the dishes were served at once. The French onion soup was good. The salads were large and tasty. We had a few communication issues with preferences (asking for dressing on the side and the salad arrived drenched in dressing) but everything got worked out. The pasta was enjoyed. The flatbread was decent. The baked macaroni and cheese was excellent, after I took it with me and heated it. Several people in our group had briskets. They were happy. The place was busy on a Saturday night.

When in the area Ovation is always a selection for dinner. The most recent visit felt a little off. It as still good just a little different than usual. I opted for the half rack of ribs and the lobster mac n cheese. The ribs seemed to have more fat on them than usual so I didnt eat too much of them. The lobster on the mac and cheese was good but the cheese taste in the mac n cheese seemed a bit missing. My child didnt taste any difference though and ate mine We asked for bread as that is something we are usually given but it came out and it was different than other visits.... it wasnt neccessarily bad... it just wasnt what we look forward to. My childs burger also arrived missing several items but they quickly corrected it. He also opted for the lobster mac n cheese but he ate his all up. We also got dessert to go. My child got the cheesecake that he thoguht it was okay and I got the pineapple upside down cake and that was pretty tasty. Even though this visit seemed off from others we will be back.

Hubby was happy with brisket (warm) on wedge lettuce 2 halved grape tomatoes sliced purple onion, bacon crumbs -nice presentation , but could use more glaze. 12.95$ at lunch. I so looked forward to Brussels sprouts baked then broiled to add a slight char to outer leaves with a glaze yum. But these were drenched in bbq sauce and baked until black throughout. Served in a 4" iron skillet they were still not hot-just warm. The crab cake was small, tastey but only warm. I also ordered a side of Alfredo pasta that also was not hot or creamy enough. 30.00$ There were two couples in booths for a quiet lunchtime , yet the mater Dee wanted to seat us at a table between the two booths. We asked for a booth and he sat us towards the back that had another little table with it that made it difficult to climb into the booth ,while 6 other booths were empty. Our waitress was a bit slow , had to wait on the bill then wait on it to be picked up. Maybe that was why the food was not hot also.

My friend was in town this was the half way mark. We mostly had appetizer but it was delicious. The staff were so nice. We tired the fence onion soup, the crab cake, the best part of all were the pretzel bread with the cheese dip. We arrive pretty early. They were open to all.

10 out of 10 . Stopped in for the first time and ordered the lunch special and the soup of the day. The food, service and presentation was all top notch. Will be coming back for certain l! Victoria was an awesome server.

A good place to check out after a long day. We came here on a Saturday night with a group of 8. Overall great service, decent prices, average food. Place was packed but we were seated right away. I'd recommend the salmon and key lime pie. Skip the buffalo chicken wrap - not sure how that can ever be a bad choice but it was. Fantastic mocktails for $4. Good stuff.

Great Food, Service & Ambience! We would definitely be coming back to try other dishes. Everything seem delicious but one can only my eat so much per seating. We sat outside on the patio area, which was nicely lit and had a nice singer to enjoy your dining experience.

I'm not a fan of smoked food, my husband is. He got the crab cakes and the ribs, he raved about both. I got the shrimp and grits to avoid the smoked meat, which was delicious but sat in a pool of fat which I didn't care for. My table mates loved the wedge Ceasar salad, for me the dressing was a little too pungent but I was in the minority, so it may just have been me. Service was good and the place is clean and comfortable. Solid choice.

Food and service were very good. We especially enjoyed the potato skins with brisket. The chicken Alfredo was amazing, and the leftovers were still delicious when I heated them up the next day. I would definitely recommend it and would go back when we visit again.

The service at this restaurant was a little above average our waiter Tyler was OK but not very attentive. The steaks were either overcooked or undercooked so I would say pretty average. I know this place gets good ratings, but the restaurant was somewhat dirty and unorganized. We did eat here for Easter dinner so maybe they were understaffed. I will say the appetizers were very good.

Stopped here on our first night while getting settled into South Kissimmee RV resort. A little bit of a drive; however, it was pretty darn good. Beverages were top-notch. I thought the barbecue flatbread was out of this world yummy. My wife thought the Caesar salad had a little bit too much dressing. We sat at the bar and enjoyed ourselves.

2 visits in a week while visiting the Orlando area. The first was 8 golfers seeking meat. Favorites were the ribeye, the smoked prime rib and the tilapia. Dinner salads were very good and the wedge was amazing...best I've ever had. Service was excellent and our server very tolerant of old man humor. The second visit with my wife was equally satisfying. Mary's Lamb shank was juicy & flavorful served over garlic mashed with a side of steamed broccoli. Tami's filet was perfect. Need a broader beer list.

Jason was amazing and made us laugh and gave us great service! We weren't sure what to expect but he came to the table in a great mood and gave extra effort to ensure we were completely taken care of. The food was excellent (great perfect margarita, Caesar salad and ribeye steak ). We ordered scallops on top of our steak and they gave us three instead of two. Atmosphere was sophisticated casual, and you felt like you should be paying more for the wait staff attention, food quality and overall dining experience. Thank you Jason for a great meal - love the accent!

Absolutely phenomenal. Went to have their Thursday night smoked prime rib special. Walking in you can smell that smoker working its magic. Started with the house smoked wings -delicious- juicy, tender , perfectly smoked and seasoned. Had a wonderful wedge salad with balsamic, bacon + bleu (say that 5x fast lol) But then here comes the star of the show...the reason we're here. O.M.G. ‼‼ The best prime rib dinner I've ever had... OVATION STYLE BABY ....that's where they take a perfectly smoked piece of ribeye and season it to perfection with their house blend and then pan sear it to finish. Throw in a loaded baked potato and a wonderful server it doesn't get any better!!!! 10 stars

Love the Monday and Tuesday special! One drink, one starter and entree as well as dessert for about $16! Dog friendly and also has live music some days. Food is good too, service never disappoints either! Good local spot!

We love to find non touristy restaurants when we are in Orlando. Ovation Bistro and Bar had a great menu online so we came. Our priority reservation was for 6:30 and even though the restaurant was packed we were seated immediately. My husband had the smokehouse brisket sandwich with their house coleslaw and both were delicious. I had the steak wedge salad with medium rare steak and it was out of this world. My husband knew I was enjoying it because I did not talk the whole meal ( I am a talker)! Xavier was our waiter and so attentive & made sure we were making the most of our experience. For dessert we had the triple threat- chocolate cake with peanut butter filling. Shoot me now- it was incredible. Go off the touristy beaten path and go to Davenport to this awesome restaurant. The music was 80's pop hits so just our jam.

We went to celebrate a friend's birthday at Ovation. They made it a point to make her feel special. The service was excellent! My meal, the Diablo Del Mar, was delicious! The ambiance was ok. That would be why I wouldn't give this restaurant 5 stars.

Very good local place. My daughter had the lobster grilled cheese and lobster bisque and felt it was loaded with lobster and flavor. The onion ring were good but the outside coating fell off, which made it difficult to eat.

This place kept popping up when I searched for a restaurant "near me". It was also recommended by a local, so I decided to make the trek over and give it a try. When I walked in I found the place was packed. I think a good sign that the food must be good. I found a seat at the bar and viewed the menu while I waited a bit for acknowledgment and beverage offer. The bartender had a lot going on, but he was doing a great job! (I believe his name is Nick)

We eat here often, and always love to come here, but this evening we got to meet Christian the manager and he was just so personable and friendly which made our experience even better. The food was a solid 10 as usual and we had our favorite, Nick wait on us - he's kind, knowledgable of the menu, and super fast. Christian stopped over a couple of times to engage with our kids and they loved to feel included. We will be back again and again, this Ovation location is such a wonderful spot to frequent! ETA: Must haves are the potato skins, flat bread appetizers, and the triple threat dessert

We just had a great meal here! Chic flatbread app was yummy. 4 of us at dinner, sirloin steak, chicken w bacon and cheese, wings, and tilapia. Everyone enjoyed their food! Will definitely be back! Thank you!

Ordered two cheese burgers with fries to go. $38.00 Outrageous price If is was the best burger ever maybe but was mediocre and the portion of fries was a joke! Responding to your comment! We didn't use a delivery service, we were right there and the menu said 16.99 plus an additional $1 cheese. Originally we had the lunch menu unknowingly and the burgers were $10.99. That's what we thought the price was until he rang it up! We were shocked.

best place to eat in davenport the whole menu is amazing can't go wrong what ever you get to eat you will be happy and never stop talking about it

The food was great! The service was just as bad as the first time we went. The first time we visited was 2 years ago. The food was good but we were never offered drink refills. Same thing this visit. Ate a whole meal and was never offered a second drink for anyone at our table. Spoke to the owner. He didnt seem like he cared at all. Comped my one beer. I gave it a second chance but they failed again. Never going back. If you like good food and poor service... this is your place! Don't be fooled by the 5 star reviews. The service here is sub par and not worth spending your hard earned money at!

We popped in here last night looking for an actual meal after hitting up the Food & Wine Festival earlier in the day. (I know, shocking that we still had room to eat lol.) The restaurant is deceivingly small on the inside, but they have the main dining room, a private dining room and covered outside seating with large heaters for when the temperature drops, or for rain. The food? Delicious. HUGE portions on the entrees for a steal. Many entrees come with a salad and/or a side. Our party had two Diablo del Mar (one with chicken & scallop, the other with shrimp & scallop) and it was perfectly seasoned and perfectly spiced in my opinion - it's just enough to warm you up, but you won't be sweating and sniffling. If you have a low spice tolerance, you may find it to be actually hot. Our server (who I'll get into momentarily) recommended ordering it light Sriracha with extra Alfredo. The shrimp and grits was thoroughly enjoyed by my mother (who is very picky about grits especially). The fourth party member had filet mignon (medium) and he found it great. The final party member had the brisket & ribs, which he found disappointing. We also shared the Brussels sprouts and margherita flatbread - both were great. We didn't have any alcoholic drinks, just sweet tea (could be a smidge sweeter) and lemonade (perfectly tart - do the pomegranate lemonade, thank me later). The staff works like a well-oiled machine. You see them serving, bussing, and checking in to make sure you're great. And this is where I get to brag about our server, Ariana (not related to the singer). She's from the Bronx and boisterous, ridiculously positive and friendly, and she knows her shit. She gave the recommendation about the Diablo del Mar and has honest recommendations about numerous dishes on the menu. She constantly checked in with us and made sure our food was to our liking. She ran out of the restaurant to thank us for her tip as we got into our car, but our tip reflected how amazing her service was, and we'll be asking for her again next time we're in Orlando.

Very underwhelmed with the experience here. We got here around 4:30 pm and checked in at the host stand. The individual standing there told us we could only be seated at the bar or outside, even though the dining room was empty. We chose outside and they seated us at the entrance, even though the rest of the patio was open. Our server acted as if it was his first day on the job. I had to ask about the Happy Hour Menu and immediately was told no. I looked up the menu online and he took my phone into the resturaunt to show someone and came out saying "I learned something new today" (there was indeed a HH menu). The food was pretty standard for bar food. The potato skins were honestly the best item, and the chicken tenders a close second. The wings came out without sauce, and the server was more concerned about whether or not he added the sauce to the ticket, rather than just getting the sauce. Overall, just very subpar and disappointing based on previous reviews.

Very good spot there steaks and ribs and great it's a nice little spot to go with the wife or with the family but try not to bring to many people 4-5 the most more than that will be a little uncomfortable

Was told rave things about this place. I love the outdoor area and the dog menu for furry friends. Fairly simple menu, food came out fairly quick. Portions could have been bigger, the Cesar salad left more to be desired, but I didn't leave hungry. Service was really good too, very informative and accommodating waiters. From a New Yorker view it wasnt anything to rave about, in Florida standards it's pretty good.

Had a great burger with onions rings. Those onion rings with special pedal sauce was delicious. The service was very good, the waitress was nice and the the manager Nelly (Nellie) was not only kind but very caring. The Davenport FL. I give 5 stars. Ken S.

I recently moved here from Miami, and decided to try this place out. I ordered the chicken Alfredo and let me tell you it was tasty! I also have gone here for dinner on a Tuesday when they have their dinner specials which is a great deal. I had Steak with side and their to die for wedge Cesar salad with glass of wine and desert for under $20. we brought our dog and were able to eat in the patio. Fridays and Saturdays there's someone playing life music in the patio which is nice. also, service is great. one of my favorite local places to go to.

I will never go back to this restaurant! If I could give it a -1 I would. My friends and I, six of us, decided to go to this restaurant because of the high rating. When we walked in to be seated, we waited and no one acknowledged us. We looked around and noticed there were not that many people so we waited and waited. We watched as wait staff walked by and said nothing, so we decided to seat ourselves. We sat down and still no one said anything. My husband walked outside and asked a waitress if there were tables outside. They said not for a party our size. However, a waitress walked by us and sat a party of four at a party of six table outside. By this time we looked at each other and decided to leave. As we left a waitress looked at me and I told her we were leaving.

The environment is nice. Friendly staff. Nachos was delicious. Blueberry margarita was good, sangria good. Salada were delicious. Parmesan chicken was very good. Fettuccini was missing flavor. Lamb ossobuco no flavor at all, and very greasy.

Great deal and good food going on right now at Ovation Bistro & Bar, Davenport! For only $16.99 you can enjoy a complete meal including drinks (yes even house wine, cocktails and beer)! First, either choice soup or salad, we selected both, the roasted tomato bisque was amazing topped off with sour cream! Then choose from five different entrees, we choice the blackened Tilapia with steamed broccoli and seasoned rice and the other was the 6 oz Angus Beef Sirloin with garlic mash that tasted more like a filet Mignon! Our meal was served with a nice warm loaf of pumpernickel bread and butter. If this deal wasn't "sweet" enough, we ended with their delicious and rich New York style cheesecake! Service, cuisine and deals always great here and don't forget to join the frequent diners club for extra bonuses!
