I love this place in Portland, my favorite thing is to walk over here on sundays and drink a coffee with a scone! Scones are delicious, the best ones I have tried so far. Really well balanced the sugar. The staff in the place it's always so nice and the service it's so perfect. It's a nice place to sit inside and share a morning with your loved ones!

Google
A lovely little coffee / tea shop that has a little Moroccan influence. We got the Moroccan mint tea, pistachio latte, a scone and a chocolate chip cookie. Everything was delicious. I love the little ornate teapot that the tea came in. The scone was just the right amount of softness inside and crispiness outside. You get a nice view of fields park if you're sitting outside. Parking is relatively easy too.

UPDATED REVIEW 10.15.24: While everything I order here is always delicious, I did feel that I needed to update my Google review to reflect/highlight ONE issue..... The other day when I was getting my daily "Ovation Addiction" I couldn't help but notice the struggle that another customer was having. This particular (male) customer happened to be in a wheelchair and had a baby with them, and the baby needed a diaper change. So..... This is what I noticed: 1) The bathrooms seemed to barely be accessible to wheelchair users, as they are located in the back corner of the shop. 2) NEITHER bathroom had a changing table. 3) There appears to be at least one table "blocking" the access to the"Men's" bathroom. For the above listed reasons, I am changing my rating but the food, service and prices are still super wonderful!!!! AMAZING! Everything I try here is definitely perfect quality! The employees are always so kind and welcoming ! The prices are super affordable too!

Ovation coffee and tea in Portland is one of the best cafes in the city. Upon entering the cafe, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately made me feel comfortable. The decor was tasteful and modern, with plenty of comfortable seating options to choose from. As a self-proclaimed coffee addict, I can confidently say that the coffee at Ovation is some of the best I've had in Portland. The baristas are incredibly skilled and take pride in every cup. I ordered a latte and was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and creamy it was. In addition to the coffee, the tea selection at Ovation is also noteworthy. The staff are knowledgeable about the various types of teas they offer and are happy to answer any questions you may have. One thing that sets Ovation apart from other cafes is their commitment to sustainability. They use compostable cups and lids, and their coffee beans are sourced from sustainable and ethical farms. Overall, I highly recommend Ovation coffee and tea in Portland. Great coffee, a welcoming atmosphere, and a commitment to sustainability make this cafe stand out.

Google
I have so much love for this coffee shop and its staff. The pistachio latte is my favorite coffee drink ever. And the owner Carter is a super nice person. Ovation is such a lovely coffee shop!

Google
My favorite affordable breakfast is their supreme biscuit breakfast sandwich with veggies, turkey sausage, and white cheddar on a homemade biscuit. Delicious and a great value for $5. Moroccan mint iced tea is another go-to. Oh, and their delicious scones. I have never been excited about scones but they’re excellent.

Google
I used to work near this café, so I was a frequent visitor for years. Since leaving that previous job, I hadn't been by in years, but I had an opportunity to stop in today. They're still incredible, the Morrocan biscuit is still delicious and satisfying and their Morrocan Pistachio latte blows Starbucks boring one out of the water. Always worth a stop in if you find yourself nearby!

Google
Wow!! The BEST coffee and pastry place in Portland, period! The second I walked in the door I was greeted with such kindness and excitement. I met the son of the family business as well as his mother who make all of the pastries daily. They couldn't have been nicer! I tried Macaroon pistachio latte, with a twist of blended macaroon spices (so delicious!). I was hesitant, but glad I tried something new. Absolutely divine! Sat outside to enjoy the beautiful cool, sunshine and view of the park. Nothing like this in Alabama or anywhere I’ve traveled thus far. This entire area was very urban and had great vibes, regardless of the city your in lol Probably the best day during my visit!

Yelp
Coffee shop featuring Moroccan-inspired drinks. Great location by the Fields Park. The shop has big windows that let in light and offer pleasant views. The barista that took my order was very friendly and helpful with my questions. I got a pumpkin chocolate scone and a Moroccan chai. Scone was good, crispy outside and fluffy inside. The Moroccan chai was cool - I think it was sprinkled with coarse sugar, which created a sort of crust on top of the foam, but the rest of the drink wasn't super sweet, and the spices were strong but smooth. This was a good choice for something a little different.

Yelp
Interesting twist on a matcha latte with their added spices, next time I'd try without the lavender because there are just so many flavors going on. Great service. It was pretty packed inside but also very quiet- seems like a great workspace.

Yelp
Tried this coffee place when I wanted to try something different. The coffee was a little different with the moroccan influence. They sprinkled cinnamon powder on top of my cappuccino. Although it didn't taste any different to be honest. The ambiance is pretty refreshing and chic. The service is very nice with friendly staff. Coffee was very average.

Yelp
This coffee shop had its own unique twist by including Moroccan spice blends into its drinks! My husband ordered the pistachio latte and I ordered the giraffe latte, which was white chocolate and caramel. They weren't overly sweet at all, which made them perfect for us as we tend to be half-sweet kind of people when it comes to how we like I coffee. We also ordered the gyro biscuit. My husband had it as is, which included goat cheese. I was happy when I learned they could replace the goat cheese with feta for mine! Barista was also knowledgeable about what's popular when we asked- huge help for us as visitors since we are in the area 1-2x/year to see my in-laws! We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
my favorite coffee in Portland Oregon. I walked in as it was nearby to the gym I was going to. I wanted to try their coffee and save it for the next day. One sip and I was hot. Looking forward to coming here on another visit.

Yelp
Cue little gem around the corner of pearl district. Lots of residents came here after morning workouts. You can see lots of furry friends coming In and out. Staffs are super nice. Coffee is a must try. Exotic Moroccan lattes gives an interesting twist to the flavor. Some spice reminds me of the Chinese 5 spices but not too strong. Some has dry onion in it? Got to experience it Biscuits and paninis are also great flavor with a reasonable price. Love the crispy sandwiches.

Yelp
While staying at a Residence Inn nearby, I looked at my Yelp bookmarks to see if there was a coffee shop nearby for the next morning.  Luckily, Ovation was within walking distance.  The next morning, even though it was raining, I made the trek over.  There is a small park right next to it, and if it wasn't raining, I would've enjoyed my coffee right there.  However, I high-tailed it back to the hotel, where my friend was waiting for her coffee. To cut to the chase a little, I went back the following day, as well.  In these 2 days, I ordered a white mocha, a red velvet latte, a pistachio latte, an orange creamsicle slush and a strawberries and cream slush (which I believe the slushes are called Zazas).  The coffees were all good and tasted as good as you would expect.  Well, maybe even better.  There was no bitterness in any of them (the white mocha I did get iced).  As for the Zazas, even though it was cold, rainy, and windy, I enjoyed both of them.  So much, that I got another one the next day.  For the coffees, I believe on some of them, they put some spices.  So, if you don't want the spices, just ask them if your drink has them. The service was great, as the ladies working those days happily answered all my questions.  And, I had a lot.  LOL!  Also, I am unsure of the parking situation in the day time, as there are a lot of businesses around.  But, worth a few passes around the block to visit this place.

Yelp
I stumbled into this coffee shop after a doctors appointment nearby. I was not disappointed. First off it was very clean and well maintained. The staff was very courteous and very pleasant to interact with. I ended up getting a Morrocan drip coffee, it was superb nice and flavorful full of spice and full bodied. The shop has many Morrocan options and regular options and even offer energy type drinks like the big competitors. Definitely will come back ! Another bonus was that it was very reasonably priced ! Yum yum

Yelp
Came here when I was walking around the area and it was a great place to rest and enjoy some drinks! The inside of the shop isn't very big, but they have a fair amount of seating to study or chat with friends. The staff here is so friendly and they offer both a pretty extensive food and drink menu. I got Moroccan Mint tea instead of coffee here and it was amazing. It comes out with glasses and a beautiful tea pot and the making of the tea is an experience in itself. Such an amazing little find and I would definitely come back if I was in the area.

Yelp
There are some places where you need to go out of your way to utilize their service or business. Our daughter, a giant fan of any type of Boba or Boba-like drink, insists that no matter where we are in the city, we go to Ovation. I think it may be her favorite place in the whole world. Well, that's not true, because her barn where she has access to her horse her favorite place in the whole world.

Yelp
I have becoming here for years, and the customer service and food have always been excellent. I used to be regular when I lived in Portland, but now I live on the East Coast and only make it in 1-2 times a year. One of those rare visits was this morning, and amazingly Karter still remembered my usual order (gluten free turkey sausage biscuit sandwich), and took the time to acknowledge me and say hi. Wonderful local business run by a lovely family! Also some of the best gluten-free breakfast sandwiches around!

Yelp
I'm visiting Portland this weekend and met up with my cousin in the area. She lives here, knows the area well, and came here for coffee. Solid spot! Recommend 10/10. I had the best cafe au lait ever! It had the most beautiful foam art! Thank you Carter!

Yelp
Love Ovation Coffee & Tea! I ordered the Pistachio Latte. Let me be the first to tell you, "it's so so good." By far, the best coffee I've had since I moved to Portland. First & foremost, I appreciate all the hard work and sheer efforts from the two ladies who assisted me and my girlfriend. You 2 are rock stars! Thank you for breaking down the menu and explaining all the options that are offered from the café. Ordered two scones (Chocolate Peanut Butter & Blueberry) Ordered the Pistachio Latte. Thankful for the sweet hospitality and chill vibes! Thank you kindly. Ordered: 1) Chocolate Peanut Butter Scone 2) Blueberry Peach Scone 3) Iced Moroccan Pistachio Latte
google avatar

Haeun J.

Yelp
It hurts me that I'm giving this spot 3 stars, but it's because I've seen a decrease in quality of the Moroccan Pistachio Latte. I'm a pistachio-fanatic and I was SO excited when I found out that Ovation specialized in pistachio lattes. I've brought people here so many times over the years, but recently, I've noticed that the pistachio latte seems to have gotten worse. Maybe I don't understand how they're made, but the texture feels like really bad boba? The pistachio latte is almost chalky with chunks that haven't been blended very well... The vibes and service are always excellent. But I'm not sure that I'd ever order the pistachio latte again until they fix the texture. The other stuff on the menu, however, are quite good. I almost wish they could downsize their menu because they offer so much and it's sometimes overwhelming.
google avatar

Jamie C.

Yelp
The customer service is excellent, same with the location. There is a park nearby and parking isn't too difficult. The food menu is inclusive and there are gluten free options and a ton of coffee and teas. I love that they use cold brew for cold drinks but the coffee was kind of weak flavor, it could have had a lot more punch or caffeine. It was rather milky but the pistachio drink had a nice unique flavor. Maybe the teas are better, when I try again. The areas of improvement would be the ambiance, it's not a very comfortable table to work from, the chair and table design feels overfilled. One or two tables being removed might make the flow better. As mentioned before, stronger coffee drinks. Other than that it was pretty good!

Yelp
Always such friendly staff! The Moroccan spices are an amazing addition to my mocha! Thanks guys for being such a fun coffee shop to go to downtown..

Yelp
I was searching for a quick breakfast place nearby since we were in town visiting and planned to take a day trip outside the city. That's when Ovation caught my eye because it had hundreds and hundreds of reviews with a perfect 5-star rating. We got here at around 8:45 AM on President's Day and there were a few street parking spots available. They have many, many drinks so I would recommend looking up the menu beforehand and deciding (which is what I did), or else it can be overwhelming if you have to decide in the store. I had the iced Moroccan mint tea, which was super refreshing. My husband had the vanilla matcha latte and it was sickeningly sweet. Even he says so, and he is the one with the sweet tooth. For food, I had the Supreme Biscuit (egg patty stuffed with spinach, garlic, mushrooms, tomato, and mozzarella cheese, topped with turkey sausage and layered with pepperjack and cheddar). This was good but after eating it for a while, I noticed there was some spice in it that I wasn't a huge fan of, but couldn't quite put my finger on what it was. I liked my husband's sammie better. He had the Gyro Biscuit (lamb gyro, egg patty, goat cheese, roasted tomato on a biscuit). I've never had a breakfast sandwich with gyro in it, so I liked it. However, I don't like goat cheese so that's why I didn't get this one for myself. If I could go back, I would see if they could sub the cheese for a different one. Although the breakfast menu is small with just four sandwiches on it, I appreciate the uniqueness of it. Overall, it was still a nice breakfast. It was not overly heavy, yet filling enough to last us until a late lunch.

Yelp
Loved this place the Red Velvet latte was so creamy and yummy! And the biscuits!! Fresh tender buttery goodness! I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Oh Em Gee! Maybe had the best coffee I've ever had! First time here and asked if they had any coffee with cayenne. They do not but mentioned their coffees have Moroccan spice so I may taste the kick I wanted. I ordered the Moroccan Pistachio Latte and it didn't disappoint! They top their lattes with honey powder to keep the foam! Simply put... perfect! Bold flavor with a little kick I wanted and just sweet enough to enjoy every sip!

Yelp
We stopped by early morning before our road trip down to California and was met with fast and friendly service. We usually like to order two different items to try but the Mediterranean breakfast biscuit with goat cheese, tomato, and lamb gyro meat caught both of our eyes so thankfully we each got our own. The biscuit was perfectly flaky and soft and we loved the flavors of everything together. Definitely one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had and also at a great price! For drinks we had the red velvet latte with oat milk and a pistachio latte. Both were solid but wouldn't say it's the best pistachio latte I've had. Overall, it was def worth a stop and now I'll forever think about this breakfast biscuit bc I'm sure there's nothing similar at home. I also saw you can text them your order which is really convenient!

Yelp
This cute place has been highly recommended by many people so I went here with high expectations and they don't disappoint. The view from the cafe is pretty great with the Fremont bridge in the backdrop but the best part is the amaze collection of Moroccan coffees that they offer. We had the Moroccan mint tea, the sage tea and the pistachio latte. Every one of them was epic in itself. The caprese panini was good too. I will definitely be going back to this place to try out other things on their menu.
google avatar

Jo C.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I came here specifically because yelp reviews claimed they had gluten free pastries. If you're looking for fresh gluten free options, this may not be your spot! They use Pacific oat milk which isn't gluten free, and there were no gluten free pastries, only pre-manufactured GF bars and snacks. I ordered a pistachio latte with hemp milk. It was... nice, but i enjoy a more coffee-forward taste when I visit local coffee shops and this didn't deliver. I ended up tossing it halfway through and got a redemption coffee somewhere else. Maybe I came on an off day?

Luis Z.

Yelp
The pastries are amazing. Try the chocolate chip scone. The baristas are always welcoming and the ambiance is very comfortable.

Yelp
My sister recommended this spot as they have special offerings with the moroccan spiced drinks, which is unique as I've never been to a spot that had them! - PARKING - Street parking from what I heard! - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - My sister picked up the drinks so I'm not too sure on the environment - however, they did come back fairly quick so I think the service is fast and efficient! - DRINK - Moroccan Spiced Latte: I decided to try the plainest option to get a taste of the Moroccan spices - it was an interesting mix of flavors but I enjoyed it thoroughly! - OVERALL - Unique choices of Moroccan spiced drinks, but also other tea options can be ordered here. Glad I got to try this out during our Portland visit!

Yelp
Dropped by this place on a weekday morning when I was in the area for work and did not regret it one bit~ I wanted a pretty flavor coffee or tea and couldn't figure out exactly what I was feeling so Moroccan dirty chai it was, best of both worlds. My drink came out a good hot temperature and was delicious! Definitely everything I was hoping for when I ordered it -- not too sweet but aromatic with a nice caffeine punch. I didn't check out any of the pastries or food but the case did look tempting so perhaps next time! There are a couple of tables to sit and sip your coffee/tea or you can also hunker down at the park adjacent to it. Parking is alas, street parking, so beware if you come at a busy time or park further down and walk over. Service was friendly and I'll definitely be going back to try more of the menu!
google avatar

Yelp
This is an outstanding coffee shop, offering more interesting and higher quality F&B items than your average coffee shop. Today was my second daily visit while visiting Portland. The barista remembered my custom beverage order from yesterday and recited it as he approached the register! Excellent memory and excellent service. For lunch on the first day I had the Turkey White Cheddar Panini (oven roasted turkey, white cheddar, garlic aioli and avacado) and a customized variation of their pistachio ice-blended beverage, which they call "ZaZas." Shown is their Peaches & Creme ZaZa, without whip. All items were winners and have me looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Grabbed breakfast at Ovation before heading to the airport for our flight home. We got there around 7:00 on a Tuesday and it wasn't busy at all. I ordered a Moroccan latte and Moroccan biscuit sandwich. Both were delicious. service was great! I wish we had an ovation near my house!

Lori M.

Yelp
Great service, great coffee but if you stay too long the servers will wipe table next to you with highly concentrated chlorine rags to get you to leave gasping for fresh air. I have suggested they use chlorine test strips in sanitation water but snubbed.
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
The rarity of a place on Yelp having 5 stars. When I tell y'all I ran to Ovation to see what all the hype was about. I can confidently say I know what they're talking about. The staff is great, the place is clean, and the coffee is perfectly roasted. I went with the iced Moroccan Pistachio latte. Nutty flavors are my absolute favorite in coffee. The Moroccan spices elevate the flavor of bean. The roast isn't crazy dark roasted. The Pistachio flavor is accurate. None of that Starbucks syrup action, this one is true to taste. The latte itself isn't ridiculously sweet - it lets the spices and flavoring really shine through. I'll definitely be back to try more of their specialty drinks. Located in Portland. Street parking. Indoor seating available.
google avatar

LeeLee C.

Yelp
COVID Situated between a few high rises, this colder place is nice and interesting. The interior design is more industrial looking, but their drink menu has good choices. Tried the Moroccan spiced coffee, it's too strong in spiced but hot enough. The pistachio steamer is delicious, so is the pistachio latte in regular milk. Wish to try other items next time, their coconut scone looks nice too.
google avatar

Ariel C.

Yelp
Yassssss! Moroccan coffee. Amazing tea. If the number of reviews and the five star rating this place has does not entice you to come here to figure out for yourself why they're amazing, you just don't want to be happy and have good coffee. Come here. Have good coffee. Be happy.
google avatar

Marianne St. G.

Yelp
The best coffee in Portland. 'Nuff said. But, in case you want more: my sister took me here and I got the organic Mexican coffee. One sip, and I bought a bag of beans and have drunk and bought no other coffee beans since. I drive here from SE a few times a month to buy their beans. Next thing I tried was a Moroccan spiced espresso. OMG! THE SPICES ARE EPIC!!!! I have been imitating them at home ever since. Seriously. Try this place! I found them keto friendly - all of their espresso drinks can be sugar free and they have heavy cream upon request. I have not tasted their food menu yet but I saw lots of tasty choices, including solid vegetarian options.

Yelp
I LOVE this place! Service was really, really good. Beautiful spot in the middle of the city. The parking was more than my coffee!

Yelp
Great services, tastes amazing! (Window seat has a great view!) definitely recommend this place for love/tea lovers

Alayna M.

Yelp
first of all, it was hot, stinky & so quiet i could hear my brain ticking. the baristas, poor kids, aren't even talking each other? i would expect some form of communication between employees but it was so quiet & weird energy both times i went in. i enjoy environments where there are a few friendly chatters, some laughs. it's like watching robots operate. i don't know if that's a personal thing or a management/business thing but it's quite odd to me. i would like some personality next time!
google avatar

Virlie B.

Yelp
We've been here several times before and will keep coming back because they are the only one (that I know of) that offers Moroccan lattes, and unique breakfast items. The place is small to medium sized. Plenty of seating, always clean and they allow you to bring dogs in if you're ordering to go, which is great! They have very few (I think I saw one) electrical outlets to plug in your devices. Which makes the place perfect for to go orders and or to meet a friend and maybe hang at, but not good for sitting down and work (which can be very nice), Only 4 stars for now though, because sometimes the espresso waits too long in the cup before they add the milk (the shot therefore can be similar to a "lungo" and makes the espresso bitter, which is fine for some, but not for all. This has happened 3 lattes out of 10 ordered, over the course of 6 months. For over $6 to $7 a latte, I really expect my espresso shots to be perfectly pulled, each and every time.
google avatar

Pepper R.

Yelp
This was a super cute place and my boyfriend and I had super high hopes! I ordered an iced matcha and an iced chai. The matcha was really good ! But the chai was just so watery and didn't taste good at all :(
google avatar

Sebastian A.

Yelp
Heard from our daughters friend who plays soccer with the owner to try this place so we were down by the water in the Pearl District and grabbed a Moroccan mint tea and yum! They made it half sweet and was perfect: Would have gotten their toasted coconut pastry but they were out so have to come back for that and to try more of their drinks. Great teas!!!
google avatar

Andrew T.

Yelp
Amazing coffee and delicious breakfast biscuits. We saw the 5-star ratings and had to check it out. It did not disappoint! Try the Giraffe Latte and Pistachio Latte (we added oak milk). Two customer favs and we really enjoyed them.
google avatar

Hilary B.

Yelp
Ovation continues to be my favorite coffee shop in PDX. Love the Moroccan Pistachio Latte (4 shots in a large) and whenever possible, I try all their delicious flavors of scones. They only come out a few times a morning and will sell out fast. The chocolate almond croissant is also to die for.
google avatar

Anthony M.

Yelp
Let me just say, the pistachio latte is absolutely amazing - yum, yum, yum!!!! And they topped it off with honey crystals
google avatar

Madison D.

Yelp
The food was really good and made fast , their green matcha latte is so good ! Coming back for sure
google avatar

Samuel O.

Yelp
Well-deserved 5-star location! Ordered the Moroccan mocha and YUM!!! For more details, try it out yourself :) Sure, there's no free parking, but is the experience worth it? Check the number of stars. This place has great vibes, an aesthetic interior design and awesome customer service. Great place for a conversation, a book or work.

Yelp
- Had one of the Biscuit Sandwiches, a bit dry, not very flavorful - My latte was alright, interesting flavors but their taste was not standout

Yelp
Love coming here for a coffee or tea. The staff is friendly and they make good beverages.

Yelp
I wanted to try this place because of the good reviews it had. We went on Labor Day morning, it wasn't crowded. I asked for popular drink and they said there pistachio latte. I always go with cappuccino, that's what I told the person who was taking the order, so he told, he can make 8oz pistachio latte with two shots of espresso and OMG! It was perfect it wasn't milky like latte but it was pistachio latte with espresso like cappuccino, they sprinkle dried honey on the foam and when you take first sip it's so so good. My husband went with regular coffee, he dint like it much, we ordered butter croissant and spinach croissant both were good. Definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Steph H.

Yelp
I am from California and am here with the husband for a weekend getaway. I always look up coffee and food before we go anywhere so I have a plan in mind. This was top of my list for coffee. I had never had Moroccan coffee and wanted to try it. They also have a good selection of pastries and food which I also appreciate at coffee joints. 2 blocks from a trimet line was helpful! The woman working the front counter and the one making coffee were both extremely friendly. I got the Moroccan caramel latte and it was delish!! I also got a maple walnut scone and it was perfect texture! I told my husband I would be drinking here daily if I lived nearby!!!
google avatar

Joanne S.

Yelp
If you're looking for a cafe with a little more unique items, this is the place to go. This is a modern, clean cafe with some Moroccan items. I had their Moroccan pistachio latte and Moroccan biscuit (breakfast menu which ends at 2pm) recommended by their employee which were both very delicious. Side note: the employees here are one of the nicest people ever and make you feel very welcomed! I came in looking for a table to settle down to study and the employee saw me searching and rec'd some tables next to outlets (this was before I ordered) Drinks: The Moroccan pistachio latte had a hint of pistachio and was not too sweet. It comes with these Honey flakes sprinkled on the rim of the coffee cup. Yum! Moroccan Mint Tea: comes with a pot! You can get it sweetened or unsweetened. It was nice and refreshing although I wish it had more mint. It was a little light compared to the one I had in Morocco. Food: Moroccan biscuit: it comes in a small biscuit sandwich with lamb gyro, egg, and this tomato based sauce. Yum! I also got one of their sandwich which was pretty good, but nothing to rave about. Location: It is at the pearl district near the water and there's a park nearby which is nice if you want to go take a walk. There's a couple of tables outside if you prefer outdoor seating. Lots of people walking their dogs which is awesome! I love dog watching (since I'm a dog creeper) while studying.
