"Lucci opened Over Easy cafe on downtown’s Broadway in 2005, serving a combined breakfast and lunch menu seven days a week. Burleson came on one day a week in 2012; as other cooks left, he assumed their shifts until he became executive chef. In that role, he began sourcing more locally and regionally, starting with products from Gaining Ground farmers Anne and Aaron Grier, and Alan Benton’s famed bacon. What had ambled along as a favorite locals hang exploded with Asheville tourism traffic; by 2019, the 42-seat restaurant was seeing two-hour waits even in the middle of the week." - Kay West

Two times on this visit to Asheville. Veggie omelet was amazing, but there's so much more to explore including their eggs benedict specials, the brioche breakfast sandwich and more. Everything is fresh and tasty - not greasy or heavy. Cocktails with breakfast - try the Penitentiary (grapefruit, bourbon) or Early Start (coffee, cultivated cocktails liquor). Expect to leave your name with hostess outside and wait 30+ min wait but they use yelp for waiting list so you get a text and just be at the hostess stand to claim your table. They will encourage you to order but don't rush you; remember this place is popular so help them turn tables by not lingering after your meal.

For the life of me I will never understand why people leave a bad review of a restaurant because there’s a long wait for a table. That typically indicates that they’re doing something right😉 My husband and I were given an estimate of 30-45 minutes for a table and we got in about 35 minutes later. Everyone was friendly and they work together to care for all the guests. We both got smoothies and though they don’t look large, they were actually very filling and so delicious. I got the eggs Benedict with fresh fruit and my husband got an omelette. Both were amazing. The biscuit alone was pillowy and the strawberry jam perfectly complimented it. The only thing I didn’t like was the country ham on my Benedict. It was just a little firm. I ate everything else and honestly didn’t miss the meat. It was perfect without it. Our wait for food was maybe 30 minutes? I didn’t keep track, but it wasn’t too long.

This place was awesome. We had to wait about 40 minutes for a table but it was worth the wait. It was recommended by one of the hotel staff and we were so glad we tried it. Very unique place and the pancakes were giant. Loved their reservation system. You put I your name and they text you when your table is ready so we were free to walk around downtown.

If you don’t like tight crowded places, don’t come here. If you want delicious food and attentive service, come here. All by myself wanting some breakfast. Wandered here and saw a line. This place must be either really good or not enough chairs. BOTH. My huevos ranchero was probably the best I have ever eaten. I asked the gentleman next to me how his hash was and he said it was delicious. I waited for 30 minutes for a table and got to sit at the ‘bar’. Didn’t wait long for a delicious cup of coffee. Service was exceptional. Day 2: seasonal bowl and wow was it good. Sat next to a nice lady and we had a nice chat. What a nice town. The wait is worth it.

We we on the way back to Charlotte, and stopped by the over easy cafe, I read that we have to wait for 40 minutes, but it took us less than 20 minutes to be seated, the waitress is amazing, she remembers everyone. And we ordered the seasonal hash bowl and a cup of coffee, and extra side garden salad. We sat outside since we had our dog with us. The seasonal hash bowl is a define menu that you should try

The ovaries environment, Food, Service, people, everything that you can think of is freaking awesome. I had a vegan pancake that just made my day. My wife had a vegan dish that I don't know the name if but, it was too awesome. I'm debating if I'm going to come here tomorrow or go someplace new. I'm definitely going to come back I'm just not sure what day.

Their seasonal hash bowl was on point! Very well thought out menu with tons a flavor. They have mimosas and great smoothies! The place is small, so you will need to check in with the host before walking in. Expect a 20-30 minute wait on the weekends. That wait is well worth it. On a side note, I took my leftover food in a to-go box and I was even great cold.

We were warned to get there 30-45 minutes before we actually wanted to get seated. Heed that advice because there is a perpetual line at this place, and it is worth every second of the wait. Thankfully it is an automated process, easy to monitor, and there are tons of shops to visit on Broadway while you wait. The food was tremendous, lots of variety on the menu. Everything from vegetarian all the way to carnivorous as far as options. I opted for the foothills omelette and grits (which you could add either goat, Gouda, or cheddar cheese to if you so chose to; I chose cheddar) with Vietnamese Iced Coffee. My wife got a brioche breakfast sandwich (eggs, a lettuce mix, Dijon, and choice of protien, she went with sausage, which was divine), grits (with Gouda), and an English breakfast tea with milk and honey, called London Fog if I remember correctly.
