Over Easy Cafe

Everything about the Over Easy Cafe is well thought out and very well done. The service was fantastic, the food was extremely good, the portion sizes were huge, and the pricing was extremely fair. The restaurant was very clean and there were plenty of options to choose from on the menu. If you’re on the islands and are looking for a banger of a restaurant to eat breakfast at, this is the one for you! 10/10, would recommend to a friend.

Sanibel staple. My favorite spot for breakfast. Specials on weekends are great. Robbie, Mariyelli, Diego, Julian and others… great staff. Love the owners. Genuine local spot. New location is just as comfortable as the old. Nice you can sit inside at the bar, tables or outside easily. Highly reccomend the country fried steak, pigs in a blanket, their sliders and patty melt. Love being able to order breakfast for lunch or lunch for breakfast. Good coffee. Good ingredients. Hard to go wrong with any menu item .

Wd dined here on 9/6/25. We had a 20 minute wait. The staff is very friendly and they were working hard. I had the Mexican omelette with home fries and toast. The omelette was very tasty and the home fries were good. My wife had a Chicken Sandwich with fries. She said the sandwich was very good. The restaurant is clean and there is plenty of parking. There is a handicap ramp on the side of the shops. I rated the restaurant as a five, because you can’t give a 4.5. It is better than a four. They serve breakfast and lunch the whole they are open. There are some other shops that sell some merchandise there also.

Arrived at 12:30 pm on a Saturday. Signage to the restaurant within the commercial center not strong. Follow your nose inside the cluster of buildings. Stairs in the front side, accessible ramp on left / south side of the complex. The dining room is airy, spacious (I'm rocking a knee scooter with a broken foot) and well appointed. We are vacationing (mid October) and came in for a late breakfast. Greeted with a clever specials poster including varieties of homemade muffins (with some crossed off because sold out). Seated quickly, the place was about half full with plenty of inside and outside seating. We opted to sit inside (I'm a heat wimp). The menu didn't disappoint (oddly not available on their website) - lots of breakfast and lunch options with inspired variations of the typical breakfast offerings. Coffee was fresh and they happily accommodated my request for 1/2 caffeine. The salmon Benedict looked amazing but big for me, I inquired about a half portion and was told "Sure but still full price". I ordered a fruit bowl option with side of fresh muffin, grilled and a side of crispy bacon (you know, for protien). Hubby ordered the Ya'll Benedict (biscuit with sausage and sausage gravy replaced hollandaise sauce with grits on the side). Both arrived quickly and didn't diasappoint. Fruit was fresh and appropriately ripe, served in a half cantaloupe bowl. The grilled strawberry mango muffin was delicious! And the 4 slices of bacon was perfectly crispy. The Benedict was tasty, flavorful sausage, delicate biscuits though eggs more hard cooked than soft boiled eggs typical of Benedict. But still delicious as evidenced by my husband's empty plate. The bill was a pleasant surprise, under $40 for 2 of us. The mix of patrons was interesting, families, couples, fit folk, older couples using canes, locals, some single diners and tourists. They had family friendly touches like workable sippy style cups which the 4 year old next to us demonstrated as well functional. Another couple sat on the porch, under the canopy with their fluffy dog. A definite "do-again" in our book!

We love this place. Stay at south seas but always come here and bring back. The best pancakes and muffins ever. Fresh squeezed OJ too

Great menu with LOTS of choices! Super friendly staff serving meals made with ultra fresh ingredients. The hard decision is “ breakfast or lunch” “It’s rare to find a place that combines quality food, attentive service, and a genuinely inviting atmosphere, but this restaurant managed to deliver all three in a way that left a lasting impression. Some notable menu items include their pancakes, sourdough BLT, tasty wraps and salads. The menu is huge… So take your time!

We have been coming here for years every time we come down to visit my parents or take a mini vacation on sanibel. Going out to breakfast every morning the weeks we stay here have actually become so routine that we went to Myrtle beach the following 3 years for our annual vacation after the hurricane while they were rebuilding and moving over easy cafe because we were so upset and thrown off how we would start our day everyday. Their food there is amazing and I highly, HIGHLY recommend the country fried steak and eggs for breakfast! We have been all over the country and this is the main reason why we come here everyday every time we stay. The staff is always friendly but they do get crowded fast because it’s so popular so I always recommend coming before 9am if you don’t want to wait. The girl up front, Theresa, is beyond amazing at her job and fully deserves some recognition! She is so on point and so friendly. She saw us coming today and had a table all set up for us and my kids by the time we walked in. She answers all your questions with a smile and we watched her help/seat every guest our one visit this week and I was impressed how prompt and direct she was with confidence and a smile the entire time. We haven’t had a bad server yet and now there is even a little coffee stand outside for you to enjoy if you get stuck waiting for a table. Again I highly recommend and it makes our stay great every time knowing every day we’re gonna start it off strong here with a great meal for a good price with memories and happiness

Stopped by for a late lunch (they close at 2pm) with my nieces and enjoyed good quality food made fresh. Plenty of parking in the plaza available. They had indoor or outdoor seating available, we chose a table outside with a big umbrella covering it and a fan blowing to keep us cool. The kids menu was very affordable at $8-$10, which I appreciated. The portion sizes we received were great. Prices for adult meals ranged from $11 to $17 for an entree. Service was friendly and prompt! Would definitely go back again when in Sanibel and needing a good bite to eat!

During our many trips to Sanibel over the past 30 years, the Over Easy Café has been a breakfast staple for us. Since Hurricane Ian, OEC has moved from its charming Tarpon Bay Road bungalow to an even cuter spot on Periwinkle--about two blocks east--and they haven't missed a beat. The decadent, oversized Orange Roll is a must-order for us every visit. Today we added the Western Omelet and the Farmers Skillet, both hearty, flavorful, and served piping hot. Beyond the tasty food and quick service, the staff deserves a shout-out. They're consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely happy you're there. We also spotted some Kansas City Chiefs memorabilia and learned the owners are fellow Kansas Citians. One of these days, we hope to meet them. As we walked out, my wife said she could eat breakfast at OEC every day. I reminded her we only have one more breakfast left on this trip--so I think we both know where we'll be tomorrow.

Over Easy Cafe is one of the few breakfast spots on the island and we absolutely love this place. They had a rough couple of years because of hurricanes and are finally in a new location which is higher ground and beautiful. Their new location is in the Village Shops. We had about a 15 minute wait for a table inside We were totally ok with that because it was in the triple digits temperature wise. Once we were seated all of us were ready to order immediately. We already knew exactly what we wanted. My mother in law went with the Corned beef hash and eggs (This was grilled corned beef hash with 2 eggs your style and choice of toast). It was a great dish.The hash was crispy and corn beef was perfect. My dad father in law ordered the classic breakfast( 2 eggs your style, choice of bacon or sausage links or sausage patties or ham steak or Canadian bacon served with your choice of toast, and then choice of home fries, grits, tomatoes, or fresh fruit) He did the sausage patties and did not really like the flavor, but I told him I'd eat it, I thought it was tasty. I went with my favorite dish, the Big Bertha's Breakfast(grilled breakfast potatoes, mushrooms, onions bell peppers, tomatoes, sausage, bacon and ham with cheddar jack cheese, topped with 2 eggs your way and your choice of toast) I always order this meal. It is a huge portion, served in a skillet. Every component on this dish compliments the other. It's perfect. I never have to make any adjustments to this dish. No extra seasoning... it's perfect always. My sister in law when with the classic eggs Benedict(toasted English muffin topped with grilled Canadian bacon, 2 poached eggs and benedict sauce) She usually loves it, but this time she did not fully enjoy the flavor of the benedict and the poached egg was hard, not runny like they usually are with a benedict. My wife ordered her favorite, cheese omelet with bacon(It is a 3 Egg Omelets served with home fries, grits, tomatoes, or fresh fruit and choice of toast) The portion was so large she could not finish the entire plate. Overall this is a great stop. We will continue to come and visit year after year. Their breakfast is so good and honestly one of the only ones on the island. The owners are so lovely and friendly. The servers are great as well, always checking on you. They also have a small gift shop in the same shopping area, that sells some of their merchandise. We had to get one of their classic cups. They serve all their beverages in a Tervis cup with roosters on it. We had to buy one! We actually got a couple so we each had them. They also sell their coffee cups which are very pretty. I highly recommend this restaurant, great food, great service, amazing story. It just needs to be added to your list.

Welcome to your new home and so glad to see you back!! Their new location is in the Village Shops, we were not too sure where but it is sort of in the middle, with shops around them. They have some tables outside (way to hot in the summer despite their fans and giant umbrellas) and then tables inside. We had about a 15 minute wait for a table inside. We had 5 so their larger tables were fewer. We truly didn't mind waiting as there are so many shops in the same shopping village. Over Easy is a great spot for breakfast, they also serve lunch but they are not open for dinner. We prefer breakfast here. You have to start with one of their giant cinnamon roles. This is so large, very delicious and something our family shares. We order only one since it is very large and their portions are large. They do have two different flavors, but we prefer the classic cinnamon rolls. We all chose something different and we all really enjoyed our breakfast. My mom went with the Corned beef hash and eggs for $14. This was grilled corned beef hash with 2 eggs your style and choice of toast. It was so good! This was such a great meal! We were up early on a Saturday morning and visited for breakfast! The outside seating was perfect. On the day we visited the weather was outstanding and we had such a great seat in the shade. The service was so efficient. We chose to share a few breakfast items like the orange roll and the fruit and yogurt parfait. My husband had an iced tea and said it was outstanding. We love the cute chicken cups. We also thought the prices were excellent for Sanibel.

Glad to see this local breakfast & brunch spot come back after the hurricanes. The staff is very accommodating and pet friendly too! We shared multiple dishes for brunch on Sunday and the portions are beyond generous. The breakfast burrito is huge and packed with flavor. The 2 egg omelet croissant sandwich is fluffy and big enough to share between two people. Make sure you get a cinnamon roll / orange roll to go!

Okay, we are in paradise so there is that! I traded snow boots for a bathing suit; !! We wanted breakfast/brunch this morning and this cute cafe wasn't far from our condo. I can't really tell you what it looks like inside because we sat outside in the sun and shade and watched the people. We started off with sunrise mimosas made from prosecco and fresh squeezed orange juice. Absolutely scrumptious!!! I'll take a dozen more!! My husband had the traditional breakfast of over medium eggs with bacon, toast and a side of fried potatoes. I had a side biscuits and gravy, a side of grits and a side of bacon. Now let's get real, I am a snob about biscuits because I make some of the best biscuits this side of the Mason Dixon and these biscuits this morning were not okay. I'm sure 7up biscuits are in somebody's yummo list, NOT mine!!! That said the gravy was good, needed seasoning but I would rather add my own that have someone else do it for me. The grits though, CHEF'S KISS!!! Perfect!! My husband said his eggs landed on the harder side of medium and the potatoes weren't his style but overall this place was great. We did not get the pancakes but the guy behind us did and they were huge. I'd try those next time. If you're in Sanibel, try this place. It's a go to and bonus, there's some super cute shops here.

Located in the Olde Sanibel Shoppes, my family has been going to the Over Easy cafe since it was Amy's Over Easy cafe. There is inside and outside seating, and the food is always superb. The ambiance is like an old farmhouse- before "farmhouse chic" was a thing. Today I got the Mediterranean omelette and it did not disappoint. The iced coffee was 'just' coffee poured over ice and it was delish! They don't have dairy free milk options, just FYI. Lynn took care of us today and she was wonderful! We will always return every time we're on Sanibel!

Stopped by while biking through Sanibel! I loved the home style breakfast and relaxed atmosphere!

Stopped in for a late lunch about 30 minutes prior to closing. The staff did not make us feel rushed at all. Service is great. I had the Ruben, which was very good. The fries are better than McDonald's. My wife enjoyed the BLT as well. This was our first visit since Hurricane Ian in their new location, and I quite like the motif. It's actually a bit more upscale than the old store, which is nice.

The staff are fast and friendly. The omelettes are made with fresh vegetables and are delicious. Great coffee and plenty of it

When your boat day gets cancelled because of rough waters from the storm, the next best thing is to head to breakfast before the place fills up! We grabbed the first table of the day at Over Easy Cafe in Sanibel, and the moment my sister saw the Giant Homemade Sticky Orange Roll on the menu, she pointed it out to me because she knew it was right up my alley! After that, I couldn't think of anything else, so I had to give it a try. And let me just tell you, my whole table kept eyeing it when it came to the table because it looked SO good. As luck would have it, it tasted just as amazing! The service was friendly and accommodating of our larger party popping in unexpectedly for breakfast, and the food was unbelievable. We dined outside on the patio and had a relaxing, enjoyable breakfast - one we'll repeat again and again during future visits to Sanibel and Captiva Islands.

This place is amazing!! My family and I tried the Lighthouse Cafe the next day and we all decided we should've gone back for breakfast #2! There was a minimal wait time, service was sweet and the food was EXCELLENT. My youngest had French toast, my husband and oldest had one of their 3 egg omelets and were pleasantly surprised. I had the Y'all Benedict! OH MY GOSH I miss it already! Homemade crumbly biscuit with sausage patties, poached eggs and topped with sausage gravy. The potatoes were delicious too. DON'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE ISLAND! 12/10!

First time at the new location. Great decor. Same great service and great food. This is our tradition for our last day on Sanibel. Load up the car , breakfast at Over Easy Cafe then hit the road.

SEPTEMBER 26, 2025 We went to the new location of this cafe. They are still fantastic. The warm Cinnamon Roll! The French Toast! We added blueberry, bananas,strawberries and whipped cream! I've tried many sandwiches on the menu. They're all good but the BLT with fresh fruit always calls me back. Crispy bacon, crunchy toast, excellent tomatoes. EVERY TIME. Breakfast or lunch. Service has always been and still is great. The long time FOH crew is still there quick and efficiently pleasant! The look of the Cafe is modern and also quaint. It is laid out nicely and sparkling clean. Indoor or outdoor seating. We chose outdoor in front of a fan and enjoyed every moment. SEE YOU THERE!

We come all the way out here for Over Easy Cafe and it never disappoints! They were closed for a bit but they are open again and better than ever! You have to get the cinnamon roll, but they also have an orange roll if that's more your speed. Also the best oj from sun harvest. Go visit them but be warned, it gets busy because it's so good!

This is a fantastic hideaway restaurant on Sanibel island. Serving breakfast and lunch. My husband and Mom had breakfast and I choose a lunch BBQ pork sandwich. It was excellent! As someone who does not eat Biscuits & Gravy Incan only say it looked real. Sometimes you go to a restaurant and it looks like a congealed slop, this was legit homemade! Hubs said it was delicious. Mom ate the whole omelet for the first time this trip. Loved it! My sandwich was great! It's rebuilt since Ian and beautiful! Our server was so helpful and though it was busy he took the time to help us and answer questions and talk about the rebuild. Stellar! GO

Have been to their new location in the villages about a dozen times so far and will continue to dine there regularly. Always satisfied with the menu items we've had, and would mention the lox and bagels as a real special treat.

Food was burned and i was treated rudely by one of the female owners won't be going back. My mother was also treated meanly by one of the owners. Not the nice woman but her wife.

We had a table towards the back, but it was out of the way. The place was kind of noisy, because it was full of people so it must be a popular place. Our server was fast and friendly and even had our muffin cut in half, buttered and warmed on the grill & brought out an extra plate; as we were sharing the food. The salad was piled high with all those the ingredients that make a Cobb Salad great! (as you can see from my photos.) I will be honest, the muffin wasn't very big and was just average tasting. The star of the show was the raspberry walnut vinaigrette. I would love to come back and try some of their breakfast items!

This restaurant and staff make us smile. So happy to be here! Delicious food, gluten allergy friendly. Fantastic staff!

We are back on island, and breakfast at over easy high on list of to do. Staff was welcoming and efficient. The cinnamon rolls and omelettes a great start to the day on island. Haven't tried lunch there yet but must do so soon! Great welcome back to island at over easy high.

we spent a few days on Sanibel during the end of march. decided to try this place for breakfast. Waiter was a nice guy, we asked to start with oatmeal waiter confirmed we wanted it before our breakfast. Oatmeal came up follow by your breakfast right after, so much for the plan. my wife had a bacon and cheese omelette and I have ham and eggs. my wife's bacon was so overcooked that is lost any taste, just crunchy. one of my eggs was served with a broken yoke. that is a no no.

Everything is made to order! Don't skip the orange roll. I know it sounds weird but you'll miss out! 10/10 I are biscuits and sausage gravy. The biscuit was delicious but the gravy was a little too thick. 8/10 Hubs got the sausage Benedict. 9/10. Orange juice and coffee were so good 9/10 waiter was attentive. We ate outside. Apparently they are moving to a new location in June. Worth a visit if on Captiva or Sanibel island.

Mediterranean omelette was delicious! Good portion. Service was great and quick. We ate at the outdoor patio; they had bug sprays for customers.

Never ever had a bad meal there, breakfast or lunch are absolutely fantastic eats. Highly recommended by me a frequent customer!!

There was a wait upon arrival but moved relatively quick and definitely worth it. Both the daily specials (bacado omelet & the avocado steak wrap) were delicious. Must save room for the orange roll!! Possibly the best breakfast spot on the island.

It was okay. I ordered poached eggs I was specific on how I wanted them but they dropped the ball ..they weren't cooked enough not even the whites were done. Yuck. Our fav breakfast place is the lighthouse cafe which we just discovered this year.

It's hard to break away from these Cafes on Sanibel Island that are serving up freshly squeezed Orange Juice every morning. That's the vibe we all connected with during our stay on Sanibel Island. Go for a beach walk to see the sun rise, take a shower and head towards a cafe to enjoy freshly squeezed OJ. Livin' the good life at the Over Easy Cafe. We're seated on the outside patio. The weather is just perfect as we're sipping on our beverages. I ordered a simple breakfast eggs, bacon and toast. It's the vibe I was feeling at the Over Easy Cafe. I did notice they had a signature pastry on the menu. We all took a small piece of the freshly baked, warm Orange roll. I'm going to miss this cafe, great menu, freshly squeezed OJ and chow being served at the Over Easy Cafe.

Okay, we stopped here on the way to Captiva for some brunch. It was around 10:00 am and there wasn't a wait. We were sat in the outdoor seating area. Their menu was great. Lots of yummy options for breakfast and lunch (after 11:00). We made our selections and our food came out in about 20 minutes. The portions were perfect and the food was *chef's kiss*. I got a skillet that was delicious. The coffee and fresh squeeze orange juice was amazing as well. We'll definitely swing by here again if we find ourselves in the area.

Sanibel Island has a few options for breakfast but not all are gluten friendly. Over Easy Cafe had the most alluring menu, stacked with gluten-free options. We visited both mornings during our weekend getaway. Staff wore masks and enforced social distancing. We were seated instantly with choice of indoor or outdoor setting. The patio was mostly covered but still a bit toasty. Indoors was air conditioned. We both ordered scramblers with home fried potatoes, and the best gluten free English muffins we've ever had. My egg, cheese, and avocado sammich was delish. Hot coffee hit the spot. Friendly staff made our visits enjoyable. We left satisfied and plenty caffeinated.

Fast and friendly service. I recommend sitting inside because the mosquitoes are bad outside. Good wise the French toast, pancakes and crispy bacon were delicious and the mimosas are GREAT!

Loved my Meat lovers skillet! Yummy and packed with protein. Great spot on Sanibel Island. Pre Ian and post Ian! Cinnamon rolls and Orange rolls are the best! Goinback for lunch soon. Menus is amazing!

What a CAH-YUTE little breakfast spot in Sanibel Island! As soon as we arrived and were assigned our table, water and coffee was immediately brought over. The service was top notch and I don't think we even waited 10 minutes for our meals to arrive. And yes, the food here is delicious. I ordered the Shrimp Benedict which came with some perfectly seasoned potatoes. I also tasted the mango muffin and omg, I never knew anything like this existed! If you're visiting the island and looking for a nice place to grab breakfast, this is it! Just come early (or late) as it tends to get crowded.

Over Easy Cafe is a wonderful little brunch spot now open after Hurricane Ian. We enjoyed the shrimp omelette, chocolate chip pancakes and the crab omelette and Sanibel Mimosa - everything was SO good!! Will come back next visit to try the massive cinnamon rolls!

Found this place via a recommendation from my uber driver. Cute quaint breakfast/lunch spot located on the island. Everything has a farmhouse chic to it, even the cupware! I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was delicious. I wish I had someone to share it with because it was a lot of food! Service was top notch and everyone was friendly. It was the perfect way to end our vacation! Thank you!

I wish I can have a breakfast place like this closer to home. Here's what I love about it: 1. Great fresh environment 2. Outside shaded seating as well as inside. 3. Dog friendly 4. Wide variety of breakfast lunch items 5. Breakfast skillets 6. Different breakfast items - not just basic 7. Great friendly service 8. Affordable What else can I ask for, besides I wish it was closer! They don't take reservations or call ahead, but u can take a seat and take in the area, or you can go shopping to the surrounding stores. The buzzer works throughout the immediate area with a good number of shops to go through!

Over Easy Cafe is hands down the best breakfast / lunch spot on Sanibel Island! It's one of those places that's biggest problem is what to order! 1st you have to chose either breakfast or lunch....and then which entree! Top it with the cool atmosphere & exceptional, friendly service and you have a five star meal!

Great spot! Wonderful service. Delicious food. So kind to our Boston (very dog friendly on the patio). Only downside was a very long wait to sit. But it's in a cute shopping center and they give you a buzzer so you can browse while you wait. And once you sit down you realize it's totally worth the wait. If you bring your pup ask for a bowl of water. They're happy to provide one. If you'd like a boozy brunch they do have mimosas and beers. They even helped me make my own manmosa aka beer-mosa by giving me a Blue Moon, a delicious glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice, and a frosted mug. Factor in the very reasonable prices (compared to Miami) and I give the Over Easy Cafe an enthusiastic 5 star review!!! I hope to come back. Maybe tomorrow....

We had a wonderful Saturday morning breakfast experience here. The food was reasonably priced for the area and the portions were more than enough. This is a popular place so expect a wait but there is a small shopping plaza to browse through while your appetite grows. Large variety of food options from pancakes and french toast to scramblers and country steak & eggs. Their sausage gravy is excellent! We only had breakfast but they have an extensive lunch menu as well. Service was friendly and fast. Definitely try this place!
