Stopped in here to fulfill an ice cream after sushi craving. Loved this little store. The young woman behind the counter had some helpful flavor suggestions. Unique (butterfinger, whisky praline, drumstick, PB and j) but delicious flavors. Some classics too and even a sorbet for the dairy free visitor. Loved that they have a tiny cup option as well. Would love to come back to try more flavors.

Obsessed with the cookie ice cream combinations here!! Had a really nice chat with the staff too. Awesome flavors and overall a really cute spot. So glad this creamery is right on chestnut, perfect after going to the palace of fine arts or bar darling!

Pretty good. I like the concept of cookie bowl with ice cream scoop in it but I wasn’t blown away by it. It’s nice that it’s open late if you want to get a late night treat.

They make some great ice cream. I normally can tell if a place has it figured out by there vanilla ice cream although simple hard to get just right. This was awesome ice cream.

Wanted ice cream fairly late in the Marina and this place was open. Hadn't been in quite some time but I have to admit that the ice cream sandwich was fantastic; better than I'd remembered from the last time a few years back for sure! Their caramel cookie dough between snickerdoodle cookies was a delight. Their atmosphere is fine - probably fine for a quick sit but I was with friends and we just took it to the sidewalk on the move. Service was all good. Certainly nothing to complain about. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

You know an ice cream is good when there's a line after dinner time! I originally wanted to try the fresh cookie cup, but they didn't have any when I went. It was on the menu, but I couldn't tell if they were sold out or just didn't offer it anymore. I ended up getting a chocolate peanut butter scoop ($5), which was super creamy and a good amount of peanut butter. It was a bit on the sweeter side for me, but still solid. One of my friends is allergic to egg and this place offers a lot of egg-free flavors which is a perk!

I don't have much to say aside from the honey lavender flavor is amazing. It is just the right amount of sweetness, and has such a nice aroma, I would come back just to order a pint for home. Over the Moon is located along many other restaurants, perfect for dessert right after you finish dinner somewhere else.

Second time going here and a little disappointed that they didn't have the ginger ice cream anymore. Especially because this was the only place that I know of that had ginger ice cream and it was SO good. The quality of the ice cream is really good too because it is very creamy. They have pretty unique flavors, which I do appreciate in an ice cream shop. But they should make the ginger ice cream a full time thing

Came here on a weekend night in the Marina District, and loved the blue and white theme of this small little ice cream shop! In the front of the hallway/walkway is the place to get your ice cream and cookie. I settled on a single scoop for the night, consisting of the Cookie Monster and Root Beer flavors. After ordering my friend and I sat in their small back area that can probably seat around 10 people. I liked the contrast in the flavors that I chose; the root beer flavor was strong and was able to mimic that aftertaste sparkle you usually have when you drink soda. The cookie monster flavor was sweet and had fun chocolate chunks in the colorful scoop. There's many unique flavors they have, more than a dozen that I'd love to try in the future!

We stopped by for something sweet. We had some strawberry ice cream in a purple cone and it was delicious. They had plenty of seating for us in their establishment and they served us right away. They had merchandise with their company available for purchase and cute accessories. It was a cute dessert spot and I love this area to walk around and shop.

Stopped by on my way home to the Sunset from the Financial District, looking for a little pick-me-up after my mid-dinner. I'm a simple man--I love vanilla ice cream and chocolate chip cookies. This place does both, and the idea of a freshly baked cookie shaped into a cup to hold my scoop of ice cream was genius. The setup is straightforward: street parking, order at the ice cream display case, and pay at the kiosk. The gentleman working inside was very kind and welcoming, offering samples of their flavors before customers commit. As soon as I saw the vanilla bean seeds in the vanilla ice cream, I knew I had to get it. He was also proud to mention that everything, including the cookies, is made fresh in-house--that level of care makes a big difference. The shop has a bright and inviting atmosphere with a clean, modern design. The seating near the front provides a nice spot to enjoy your treat, and there's outdoor seating as well for those who prefer fresh air. Along the walls, they display tubs of their flavors in large refrigerator, and they also have merch for sale. Prices are fair for the quality and location. A simple yet well-executed concept with top-notch ingredients and great service. It's the kind of spot that makes you want to come back again and again.

The dessert version of a bread bowl is an edible ice cream cup. In this case, it's cookies. They have limited flavors of cookie cups aside from the cookies, which the friendly worker listed for anyone ordering a cookie item. I opted for the chocolate chip cookie cup, which had an unexpected hint of cinnamon and sea salt. For ice cream I got Nutella banana which I got to sample beforehand. It had that real banana flavor and not artificial like a candy taste. The Nutella flavor is light and compliments the banana well. My only complaint is the texture is very chalky. The more you have it, the more present it is. I'm not sure what causes this and if it's present in other flavors. It's a bit distracting and makes the eating experience a bit unpleasant.

The store is clean. It's a tight squeeze. The workers are nice. My son loved the strawberry ice cream. We have super high ice cream standards, so that's why we could only give this place three stars. The cookie cups are cute to look at. We ordered the snickerdoodle and chocolate chip for the cookie cups. They were a nice idea but they didn't really like the taste of the cookies.

We walked by after dinner and were drawn in by the smell of the homemade cookies. The ice cream was a perfect ending to our day. There was a flux of people after we walked in afterwards, so I was a little rushed ordering. I regret not trying their cookies, they looked amazing!

Over the Moon is one of the cutest ice cream shops I've ever been to. The cow print cups are adorable, the ice cream is excellent and doesn't melt too fast, and the staff are so friendly. Top tier experience!

Loved this ice cream shop in the marina!! They have a lot of flavors to choose from and I like that they have both cookies and ice cream. I got the coffee cookies and cream and caramel cookie dough and both were great! The staff were super helpful about answering questions about allergens and offered multiple tastings. My only complaint is that the chocolate chip cookie was a little overcooked for my taste, but it might have just been the day.

My fiancé and I discovered this place on Yelp over the 4th of July. As soon as we walked in, the smell of freshly baked cookies got me excited to try them. The service was excellent. The guy who helped us was friendly and accommodating, letting us sample a few ice creams before we made our choice. He even suggested some great spots to watch the fireworks in SF. I ordered the Espresso Oreo ice cream with a cookies n cream cookie, and it was fantastic. The Cookie Monster flavor was also delicious. I loved that their ice creams weren't overly sweet like so many others - definitely a plus. I'd rather not end up with diabetes! The cookie tasted wonderfully homemade. I loved how the bottom was crunchy while the inside stayed soft & not liquidy. The combination of the cookie and ice cream was incredible and completely hit the spot.

San Francisco weather fluctuates on a day to day basis and although Autumn is not Summer but it feels like it is during some patches of the Fall season. The sun is shining so bright to start October and the heat wave has just restarted . A hot day in San Francisco is the best time to get a cold treat. Although it is Autumn and the Moon is the seasonal focus but on a hot Autumn day "Over the Moon " is the place to land and walking on the moon in the Marina in San Francisco to order a refreshing cold ice cream. On a hot day I decided to get a double scoop of ice cream on a waffle cone. The first scoop is a Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla. The ice cream scoop of Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla was smooth and had a good sweet taste which the flavor took flight to the moon and back. I was more under the moon when it comes to the second scoop of ice cream which was the Salted Butterscotch . It was more on the savory and a bit saltier side . Blending the bourbon vanilla and butterscotch together makes a great combination of sweet and savory. Consistently good. Enjoy ice cream under the sun and under the Autumn Moon in San Francisco at Over the Moon Get a scoop or double scoop of flavor on a waffle cone or on a cup with a spoon

They have a great selection of ice cream, but expect a wait in line. If you drive make sure you have a person to go in and wait in line while you park. Busy location but great ambiance and a great service.

My friends took me and my bf here for ice cream after we grabbed drinks and some appetizers at a bar, and it was sooooo good! The service was great and the ambiance of the parlor was really laidback and nice. The staff were nice and welcoming. I got the funfetti ice cream in a chocolate chip bowl - and was not disappointed. My go to SF dessert craving! I'm an absolute sucker for good cookies and this spot has really good ones. They do cookie cups and in the cup you can add a scoop of ice cream. I recommend the chocolate chip cookie with the Cookie Monster ice cream. Picked up six cookies and a pint of vanilla. I love that you can mix and match the cookies so we got 2 chocolate chip, 2 oatmeal raisin, a cookies and cream and a peanut butter. Our favorite was the peanut butter and oatmeal raisin ones! The best part is that they were WARM!! The ice cream was pretty good but the highlight was the cookies!

This store is a neighborhood gem. My kids have been going to this store since they opened almost 12 years ago. My older one also had her second birthday ice-cream here 10 years ago. We have great family memories here. Be it a hot day ice-cream, cold day ice-cream, beach day ice-cream. Every time is the best! And they keep on innovating and bringing new flavors. Their earl grey is my favorite and I never had an ice cream like this anywhere. Thank you Over the Moon!

Cute ice cream shop. I liked their logo. Service was good, as she helped the line of customers by herself. She was patient and polite. We got a single scoop of half Coffee Carmel Crunch/half of Expresso Oreo in Cookies & Cream Cookie Bowl. My wife liked both flavors as she likes coffee ice cream in general. I thought the flavors were good, and the ice cream was on the softer/melty side - not for all. The crunch was the little chocolate chip pieces. The ambiance was nice and simple. Small area for you to sit down and enjoy your dessert.

It's ok. G Ghirardelli's is much better or even Super Duper down the street. Don't get one scoop in the waffle cone. It doesn't fill up.

The worker we interacted there was so sweet and upbeat so it gave us a good first impression-- we really liked the cookies and cream milkshake We also got the scoop + cookie and asked them to wam the cookie up-- I didn't expect the chocolate chip cookies to have sea salt on it/ wasn't a huge fan of that but I know a lot of people are so if you like that this place is great for you!

A classic no-frills ice cream shop that serves good, classic flavors. The staff working is honestly one of the nicest servers I've ever met, and I appreciate the use of reusable metal tasting spoons. When we went, they only had one non-dairy option, a guava sorbet, but it was really good! There's a small dining area in the back, and the music being played throughout the day was quite good!

Came here on a Thursday night for a sweet treat. There was no one there which was showing because it was a warm warm night in the city! It was my first time there and I would totally go back! I LOVE LOVE my desserts and truly thought that it was very creamy! The downside was that they only had one non-dairy option so this place is definitely for the fairy lovers. Came here for a weekday during my kiddos spring break. After eating some late lunch at a local restaurant we wanted some yummy dessert! We first went down the wrong way lol so we were having a hard time finding it. Lol our fault cuz it was literally right across the street from the restaurant we were eating at. Very nice lady working the store. They give you samples to try (little metal spoons and not plastic). Very unique flavors. I opted for their lavender tea along with another tea (whatever the lady recommended I had it.) i wanted to try their chocolate chip cup bowl they had. Very interesting. It wasn't bad but it wasn't omg sooo good. But the ice cream was really good! My daughter got the Cookie Monster, and before trying it the lady asked if she had any allergies to nuts etc. i really appreciate that because even though the tag on the front had the ingredients, that was just being mindful of people with allergies. There's no seating in the inside but they do have small bistro tables and chairs. If I'm ever in the area again I would def come back to get more Ice cream. The shop was clean

A small yet delicious spot in the area! Over the Moon is located in the Marina District of SF and this place did not disappoint. I came on a weekend night, and it wasn't that busy which was nice. I love nutella and the banana flavor just makes it so velvety and decadent. There's a good amount of nutella in there and overall, that was delicious. I was deciding between that and the cookie monster but I'm glad I chose the nutella banana one that night. I got the chocolate chip cookie cup to go with my ice cream and the cookie itself was good too! The cookie was flaky, yet it had a good chew to it, and there was good amounts of chocolate chips in there as well. Definitely would come back again!

An adorable local ice cream shop with really fun flavors! I got the Cookie Monster, which was sweet and chock full of various freshly baked cookies. It lived up to the name and my sweet tooth.

Apart from the oatmeal raisin cookies this place shouldn't even be allowed to sell products. The cookies and Cream cookies were practically dirt flavored sugar cookies. The chocolate chip cookies tasted like a sorry excuse for a mcdonald's cookie. The fact that they can put that picture online and send the cookies I got over is unreal.

Cute ice cream place! The server was really friendly and let me sample 2 flavors I was interested in. I got the Cookie Monster ice cream in the cookies and crème cookie cup and it was $7. It was a bit pricey in my opinion and the Cookie Monster flavor had pieces of raisins that I wasn't expecting and tasted funny in this flavor of ice cream. I would come back in the future but wouldn't get this flavor again!

Double scoop ice cream with waffle cone - $8.50 Honey lavender (5/5) - not too sweet and very mellow Banana Nutella (5/5) - if you're a banana lover and want a twist, then is for you ! The banana taste was very strong. If you're not a banana fan, I would avoid this Amazing service. You get to sample as many flavors as you want. They have cool options you can't find in most places. The staffs were very friendly and sweet ! Will definitely be back to try other flavors

Wow, I'm honestly impressed by the ice cream here. It's a cute little shop and they have a ton of flavors! We came here after having dinner at barrio chino nearby. They let us sample a few flavors that interested us and I chose the Caramel crunch in a cup, it had the perfectly smooth consistency with swirls of caramel and perfect crunchy bits in the ice cream. I also noticed that they sold ice cream sandwiches and pints of ice cream which I will definitely have to try next time. I love that they have fresh baked cookies for the cookie ice cream sandwiches. If you are in the area, this is a good place to stop by for some ice cream! Total for 1: $7

Cute spot to stop by for ice cream. There's only like 2 tables in the back if you are planning on chilling out for awhile. I ordered a cookies and cream cookie cup with mint chip ice cream. The mint chip ice cream was decent and standard but not mind blowing. The cookie had good flavor however it was way too hard and didn't have that nice soft in the center cookie texture. I could only stand to eat about 1/4 of the cookie. For the price, I'd expect better quality cookies. If you want just ice cream, this place will suffice.

It's ice cream. It's cookies. What else can you expect. I was weird and specifically asked for them to warm up the cookie cup for ten seconds for the texture I was craving. And guess what, it was the texture I was craving. I like when cookies are soft but chewy and the edges are crispy. The cookies and cream ice cream flavor and the Oreo cookie combo is too tier. I would come here again if I lived in the area.
