Where To Meet Up With Someone For Exactly 1 Hour So You Can Go Home & Be Alone Again

"You don’t remember when you agreed to go for a “catch-up!” with this person you haven’t seen since uni, but they must’ve caught you mid-lockdown, when you rewatched Yes Man and felt it spoke to you on a spiritual level. Don’t cancel, that’s not very Jim Carrey of you. Instead head to Australian coffee spot Over Under. Not only do they do great coffee, the kind of formidable pancakes that are so good they probably deserve their own star on a mythical pancake Walk of Fame, they’ve also got a heated outdoor terrace that you can book in advance so you won’t have any of that awkward waiting in the queue small talk. Also worth noting that in the evening they serve cocktails." - rianne shlebak, heidi lauth beasley

The West London Brunch Guide

"We love Over Under’s Earl’s Court spot for its pancakes and small but mighty brunch options. But when you want a sit down brunch, you’re better off heading to their Ladbroke Grove location. It’s got a lot more space inside, a soundtrack that’s basically just AJ Tracey’s Ladbroke Grove on repeat, and the same, excellent pancakes you can get in their other locations." - rianne shlebak

Over Under - Review - West Kensington - London - The Infatuation

"Over Under is the kind of tiny coffee shop where you’ll stumble over three freelancers’ backpacks, sip a nice coffee, and then discover that they’re secretly serving the kind of formidable pancakes that are so good they probably deserve their own star on a mythical pancake Walk of Fame. TL;DR: tiny space, huge pancake potential. What this little coffee spot lacks in space it makes up for in a cool, slightly moody look, and their thick American-style pancakes come covered in greek yoghurt, poached fruit, and maple syrup. But the pancakes aren't even the best part. No, come evening, this coffee shop transforms into a date-ready bar with fun music, a fun atmosphere, and some very fun cocktails. Don't skip the espresso martini, it's one of the best in London. photo credit: Giulia Verdinelli" - Heidi Lauth Beasley

Google
Tasty food, but a bit over crowded and noisy with tables so close to each other. Prices as you might expect for a central London spot, but even then £2.50 per extra egg onto a breakfast seems too much. We were £80 for 4 people at breakfast having one dish and drink or coffee each. My breakfast was meant to have mozzarella bocconcini but it was just a sliced up regular mozzarella.

Google
Shecked out Over Under Coffee, a small spot with a limited breakfast menu. The place is cozy but definitely tight on space—like, you can practically reach over and grab your neighbor’s food. I felt a bit awkward with how close the tables were, especially when i felt the folks next to me were sharing the same dish with me . I ordered the avocado on toast with two fried eggs on top and black coffee , which set me back about £20. Honestly, I thought that was a bit pricey, but the avocado was tasty. The bread, though? A little too thin for my liking. Also, if you sit too close to other customers, it can get pretty loud, so I’d recommend grabbing a seat in the far right or left corner if you want some peace. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I think I’ll look for a spot with a bit more room next time!

Google
Loved my visit to Over Under Coffee in Earl’s Court! The iced latte was good, and the avo on toast was fresh, tasty, and beautifully plated. I also tried the banana bread and it was moist, flavourful, and just the right amount of sweetness. The staff were nice and lovely. I will definitely be back!

Google
Its a small cafe, and it picks up after 9:30 am gets busy. I had avocado toast and its okeish. My friend got granolla bowl. She liked it. We got flat white and mocha and liked it. Staff was sweet. Outdoor felt good.

Google
Overall I had a great experience at this place. I was visiting London from Miami and this was one of the first places where we could have a decent breakfast that wasn’t only pastries and croissants. It was located near our Hotel in Kensington, right in front of the subway station Earl’s Court. The food was good but be prepared if you go on a busy weekend because it gets very crowded and are expected to wait to be seated. We had to wait like 15-20 minutes for a table and in the end, we ended up separating our party in order to eat. The staff were very nice and communicative the whole time. While you wait you can have coffee and pastries if you want.

Google
Great selection and the drinks I’ve tried so far are really tasty! However, I don’t think it’s fair to charge £0.50 extra for plant-based milk alternatives. These days, it’s quite standard to offer vegan milk without extra cost - especially considering many people choose it for health or intolerance reasons. It feels a bit outdated to charge more for a basic swap.

Google
The food is decent but it’s really not enough portions and really expensive for what you got. I ordered Avocado toast and got just one toast with just Avocado and few seeds. I ordered egg on top which was additional cost and still left hungry. Staff was really friendly though.

Yelp
Stopped here on my first day in London & I'm very happy I did. Coffee is fantastic, service is great, and the pastry was pretty delicious too!

Yelp
I found this cute coffee shop while visiting London (earls court area). Plenty of outdoor seats, however very tiny inside. And an assortment of pastries. I tried an almond croissant (it was just ok) I wouldn't order again. I always order my iced American with a pump of chocolate, which can be difficult to find here in London. It was good. The service was quick, and everyone was very attentive. My iced Americano with chocolate a standard, but I was so happy to get it because they don't have a lot of chocolate or iced drinks here in London. They do have Matcha if you are into that. Great place to stop by for a quick take away. Prices are good. Thanks for having dark chocolate!

Yelp
Service: 5/5. Fast, attentive enough given how busy it is! Avocado toastie: 3.5/5. I bet it would be a 4+ with a poached egg. The different textures and light chili flakes make this toastie interesting and different from others I've had in the U.S., but it still lacked a little something -- and maybe some salt. Reuben toastie: 3/5. It was a standard Reuben for me, though maybe lighter (good thing) than those in the U.S. like the avo toastie, probably would've been much better with a poached egg. Drinks were good! I wouldn't come back, didn't "wow" me, but I was happy to try it, especially for the avo toastie. Gets pretty busy mid-morning, but people are quickly served. I wouldn't stay inside for long as it's cramped. The outside seating seems nice if the weather is good. Rounding up to 4 stars for the service and "potential" for food to be better with poached egg option!

Yelp
I've been staying in the area on and off for a few weeks while commuting between Atlanta and London; so as you can imagine coffee has been a must. I've also learned iced americanos or iced coffees in general are hard to come by this time of year. Over Under Coffee still has iced americanos which I appreciate. I'm still adjusting to the size difference of coffee in the US versus UK, so I do wish they had larger cups. A me problem for sure. Today I ordered the french toast which was delish! It wasn't overly sweet but the honey and berries provided just the right amount of sweetness. The bank Wi-Fi from across the street is surprisingly reliable!

Yelp
Cozy place and delicious food and drinks. Arrive early because a lot of things finish early, they sold out everything. The service ia good.
google avatar

Fraya S.

Yelp
Pretty crowded during brunch time, but we got lucky to be seated inside by the window. I had avocado toast and it the plating was pretty. Good place to have your morning coffee, but probably better as a grab and go thing.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
All I can say about this place is that if you don't want to be served then this is a pretty awesome place to visit. Okay, it did seem to be pretty packed, and I basically wanted a place where I could simply sit down and have a coffee, but that certainly didn't seem to be what was going to happen here. Still, spending the amount of time that I did waiting to not get served really put a dampener on this place, so I did what pretty much most people would do in this situation, and simply moved on.

JJ M.

Yelp
Overrated and overpriced, when considering all of the other good coffee shops nearby, including the chains. Coffee and food and service were fine, but nothing special. Very limited indoor seating.
google avatar

Mirah L.

Yelp
Very good coffee (I got a flat white with oatmilk) with a decent selection of pastries (pain au chocolat here) as well as some yummy looking hot breakfast. Very nice staff as well. But it is a terribly long wait in the morning. So if you're in a hurry, especially on a weekday, don't say I didn't warn you...
google avatar

Saber Z.

Yelp
Small place with limited variety, but yummy. Outdoor preferred but busy. Coming back for sure
google avatar

Ryna D.

Yelp
Excellent coffee! I was spoiled during my stay in Earl's Court because I had a number of great options for coffee in addition to the cafés near LSE. I stopped in here on my last day and got a coffee and croissant to go.
google avatar

Pedro R.

Yelp
Food was amazing, staff is friendly, and very chill vibe. Definitely need to check out!
google avatar

Vanna M.

Yelp
Small cafe but big on breakfast! Good place for a quick bite before taking the tube from Earls Court.
google avatar

Kylie B.

Yelp
Excellent cafe in Kensington - food and coffee was delicious. Staff is very friendly and food comes out fast!

Christine D.

Yelp
Solid hole in the wall with table service right across from Earl's Court tube station. You can sit outside and people watch. Good variety of breakfast items, tasty coffee, friendly and prompt service.
google avatar

Noor B.

Yelp
Instagram worthy food that is too pretty to eat. I wanted to explore little coffee shops while I was in London and found this on Yelp. Even for a weekday, this place was packed but we were offered a table within 10 minutes. I went for the avocado toast and a latte on the side. My cousin got the truffle eggs on a cress roll. My avocado toast was good but ehh I've had better. The latte was very very good. My cousins eggs were tasty but her bread was really hard. They also didn't have any orange juice but pictures on Yelp suggest otherwise. Place is very tiny and they dont have any outdoor seating except for one chair that overlooks the inside of the cafe. Customer service was impeccable. They do their best to find you a table but will ask people to leave if it looks like they are done with their food and are just chatting. No Wifi and cashless cafe!
google avatar

Maggie B.

Yelp
Over all was a pretty good pit stop for brunch. We got seated quickly and got our food right away. The cappuccino was very yummy and the banana bread was so good warm! We also got the avocado toast with an egg and it was good but not amazing.

Annabell R.

Yelp
Super cute place! Food was very yummy. They were out of a few things when we came but it was around 2pm so to be expected. I had the avo toast with a poached egg and friend had the granola bowl. Would for sure come back! Workers were also kind.
google avatar

Yelp
My husband and I were super excited to try this place out unfortunately the food wasn't the greatest. I got a Ruben toastie and the bread was great as well as the meat but the amount of sauce put in the sandwich destroyed its texture and flavor, it was so overwhelming I couldn't taste the meat or anything else on it. My husband had a similar complaint he ordered the French toast and it came with a fruit compote. It was drenched he said he couldn't taste anything besides the overly sweet topping. I will say this their coffee was to die for some of the best I've had in London. I forgot to take photos of the food because to be frank it's wasn't the best presentation the toastie came on a metal tray and the French toast was swimming in fruit sauce.
google avatar

Stephanie A.

Yelp
We were staying a few blocks from here and we were happy to find this not so hidden gem! It's very small so expect to wait if you're wanting to eat there(I recommend you do!) they're truffles eggs are to die for that we ate here twice in a row. Their coffee is pretty good too. I also enjoyed the awkward frog frames on the wall. No WiFi!
google avatar

Heather L.

Yelp
The thing that really disappoints me about this place is that we found it the day before we left and only got to go one time! The coffee was excellent--had 2 flat whites, and my companion had hot chocolate. The avocado toast with a fried egg was super yummy and has a little kick of spice to it. Great little coffee place!!!
google avatar

Uzma A.

Yelp
Went for quick breakfast, for mocha latte, ice latte and coffee. Coffee was decent. Ordered avacado toast and French toast. Avacado toast was pretty good and pochard egg was cooked perfectly. But somehow the French toast was not to my liking. Toast was pretty simple and didn't give a French toast taste even though it was soggy. The sauce was over whelming and that was the only thing I can taste in each bite. I wish they had given the sauce on the side.
google avatar

Victoria L.

Yelp
This was the first coffee shop we stopped at when arriving in London, Kensington. What a cool spot! While my husband ordered inside, I sat out on their pull out bench. We ordered iced lattes with almond milk and almond croissants. They were enjoyed first thing in the morning. We also stopped here at the end of the day and it was just as good then too. The service was awesome and very personable. I definitely recommend this spot. It is so awesome!

Anna L.

Yelp
Cute little cafe with VERY friendly staff and delicious breakfast. The menu was slightly limited, but I had a cup of tea and the Reuben toastie which was incredible. Perfect for takeaway or a quick breakfast bite!
google avatar

Sean G.

Yelp
Just grabbed a coffee as all tables taken sadly. The coffee was very good albeit probably served too hot. Would have liked to grab a bite to eat but maybe next time.
google avatar

Roudha A.

Yelp
By far the best coffee in Earls Court. Good quality of coffee. There best seller is flat white it's good, but i was sooo strong . Great music selection playing! They have a-nice selection of food I had almond crwason I liked it , really fresh.. staff are friendly.. but I just have a complain : they should change the payment way .. because they just accept card payment .. not cash ...
google avatar

Dan P.

Yelp
Great coffee. Great vibes. Great people. I was fortunate to find this gem on my last visit to London just around the corner from my hotel. Flat Whites, cappuccino, avocado toast was all excellent. Even got some great recommendations for restaurants to visit. Just be prepared that this is a small space so you will either need to be patient or just take your coffee to go. It is worth the wait. I loved the small spot to eat looking out the window.
google avatar

Victor W.

Yelp
World class hipster coffee and latte art at reasonable price. The place is small with minimal seating but it's chic and right next to the tube.
google avatar

Jonas B.

Yelp
I went here twice for coffee and both times I was treated to a great cappuccino. Unfortunately for me they were closed a couple of days over Christmas, so couldn't return again. Very small space that they somehow transform into a drinks bar at night; I have not seen it and have no idea how.

David W.

Yelp
If it's possible to give 0 stars I would. Today got there at 1010 and waited 10mins for seats inside. Ordered two lattes, avo toast and a Reuben toastie. Got our lattes after 10 mins. Then watched three tables inside that arrived after us get served their food while waiting for our food. Wife asked one of the workers when our order would be ready, he never checked. Went and checked again at 1045 and they said two minutes. When they brought the food, it was someone else's order. I then paid for my lattes and left. No apology at all, just a worker saying it was busy.

Arturo G.

Yelp
I found this place on Yelp and walked over from my hotel in Kensington for breakfast. I had the American Style Pancakes and the Ruben Toastie. The Ruben Toastie was flavorful and really hit the spot and the pancakes were alright. I managed to get a table for myself after ordering, this might not be the same for most people seeing as how the spot is pretty small. It seems like table turnover is quick so the wait might not be too bad. Will be stopping by for breakfast again tomorrow.
google avatar

Evan B.

Yelp
Their proximity to the train station is incredibly convenient but the coffee and food is also very good.

Jo C.

Yelp
The cafe is very small but very clean. I think the music was a little loud but it wasn't a big deal. We were lucky to beat the crowd on a Saturday morning before hitting the Natural History Museum. We ordered Americana and flat white as our beverage, they all tasted great! For food, we ordered the American pancakes, poached egg on toast, and avocado toast topped with a poached egg. The presentations were excellent and they all tasted great. This kind of meal makes me happy! Staff was very friendly. Food is a bit pricy but all worth it!
google avatar

Jessica Y.

Yelp
I found this restaurant, Over Under Coffee, when i was walking around Earl's Court one day and decided to pop in to have a meal. This is a spot that's great for brunch. There are a limited number of choices to choose from: there are exactly 11 different things you can pick from excluding the drinks section. However, what had drawn me into the store is their avocado toast. It just looks so amazing! Come on, who doesn't like an avocado toast for a nice brunch? I ordered an avocado on toast with a fried egg on top (£8.00) with a freshly pressed orange juice as a drink (£3.50). The juice did not taste that great. It just did not feel like it was freshly pressed at all. However, my avocado toast was WOW. I fell in love with it -- will totally recommend that to avocado lovers around London! The shop itself looked very minimalistic with a few seatings available. I really like how they had little succulents pots on the tables as an interior design element. 10/10 for the design!

Jade N.

Yelp
This café is a must stop when visiting London! The iced coffee was the best iced coffee I have tried in London, but the main thing that makes this place an all time favorite is the AVOCADO TOAST. I am originally from the states so I have eaten my fair share of avocado toast. However, the simple dish had a spicy flare and included an endless amount of avocado. The sourdough toast had the perfect thickness and of course an added poached egg was superb, but the amount of avocado given completely stole the show. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly as well. Such a lovely and yummy café that needs to have more recognition!

Yeva N.

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing coffee! This was our first stop in London and we visited it a couple more times afterwards. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves breakfast.
google avatar

Kindra P.

Yelp
OMG! Over Under Coffee is fantastic! Visiting from NYC and can not go a day without stopping in for a turmeric tea. Not to mention my first day here had an amazing fresh breakfast. I have allot of food restrictions not only did they check all the boxes but the food was delicious. Wish I could bring Over Under Coffee back home with me. PS super friendly too
google avatar

Kimberly Y.

Yelp
Good service. Small. Attentive. Simple menu. Just a good place in an area that isn't that hip/cool. And that's coming from an older lady. Good to get a few steps off the main road and feel like you are in a good little breakfast joint.
google avatar

Jim M.

Yelp
I drank espresso all over the UK and this by far was the best of them. Everything we had was great. It's tight on space but worth waiting for a table.
google avatar

Meg L.

Yelp
We found d this place on a whim and stumbled upon a treasure. If I could eat the avocado toast and drink the early Grey tea for the rest of my life I would die happy. So delicious.
google avatar

Matthew R.

Yelp
Great espresso, great food, and great staff! We stopped in for a quick breakfast before hopping on a train. The place is a little small, but totally worth it.

Nebojsa R.

Yelp
Lovely new wave coffee shop with great breakfast. Try their avocado or fried egg toast, they are both amazing.
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
A bit pricey for what you get portion wise but the coffee / espresso offerings are solid.
google avatar

Peter S.

Yelp
Swamped by all the depressing high street anywhere coffee chains you can imagine, Earls Court finally has acquired its first independent coffee venue with a flat white to die for. This is the real deal and a boon for locals.
google avatar

Clor T.

Yelp
Best Flat White ever! The banana bread toasted was delicious! Perfect location across from Earl's Court underground. I've gone back there 3 times within 10 days off visiting London.
google avatar

Simon W.

Yelp
Coffee great, food good, service only ok. It's a small space and really busy, so be happy to wait or pitch up on the bench outside. Great for breakfast before hopping on the tube at Earls Court

Jimmy A.

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I've been twice in two days and couldn't be more impressed. Incredible food (the avocado toast, chicken sandwich and kale salad are all amazing), friendly staff and impeccable coffee. Will be making this my first stop whenever I'm in London

H R.

Yelp
Amazing food. The avocado toast is incredible. Space is very limited to eat in but it doesn't matter because you won't be disappointed. Will definitely come again.

C K.

Yelp
I'm not sure why this place is rated so high. The food is very middle of the road. We had the chorizo hash and pancakes. Hash had little chorizo in it and there wasn't anything else in it besides potatoes that I could discern. Basic hash that could be found at any diner. It was pre-made and scooped from a plastic tub and reheated. Pancakes were ok but again, the type you could get anywhere and nothing elevated at all. Atmosphere was great though for a little place and seemed popular for the under 30 crowd. That was the highlight. Service was good. Coffee was good. Go if you're local to it and looking for a basic breakfast but temper you expectations - this not a 5 star yelp place.
