Ordered a cake from overlook bakery for my baby shower this past weekend and it was an absolute hit! Everyone at the party asked where I got the cake from because of how beautiful and delicious it was. It had chocolate cake with caramel filling, so delicious!! Thank you Alexia and the overlook team for helping make my baby shower extra special!!

Skip the baked goods at Bread Alone and come here instead! 5X better tasting. The chocolate chunk cookie and the carrot cake were both excellent, and the owners were awesome and passionate about their baking. It’s a little farther along Tinker St but not to be missed.

Rosie was absolutely wonderful to work with! We ordered our wedding cake from Overlook Bakery, it was GF and vegan, and all our guests said it was the best wedding cake they had ever had. The cake was just beautiful and exactly what we talked about. Rosie was so responsive and helpful, would 100% recommend and order from again! We also tried their cookies at a local brewery in westkill and they were phenomenal!

My partner and I stopped at Overlook Bakery while passing through Woodstock, and it was amazing! We tried their massive chocolate chip cookie, which was absolutely delicious, and my partner had the chocolate cherry cookie, which he said was fabulous. Both were rich, flavorful, and perfectly baked. The prices are very reasonable for the quality, and the service was great, friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, making it a perfect little spot to relax and enjoy a treat. I would absolutely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

I pre-ordered a 6" chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and raspberry filling as a birthday cake for my husband! It was delightful-- the cake was moist, the buttercream was the perfect balance of richness and the raspberry filling was on point! Thank you Rose and Overlook Bakery for a beautiful cake!

We hired Rosie at the last minute for our wedding in October as the initial baker we hired didn’t follow through. This was the best thing that could have happened for us as it led us to Overlook Bakery! Rosie was so incredibly kind, understanding and accommodating. She was able to bake the same cake flavor and styles for both our wedding cake and Bundt cakes for the guest. Since we lived out of state our first time tasting the cake and Bundt cakes was the night of the wedding. We were absolutely blown away with how delicious they were and how perfect the cake looked! We are so grateful for Overlook Bakery taking us on a month before the wedding and delivering such beautiful and delicious desserts for our special day! Cake Flavor: 8” heart shaped marble cake filled with peanut butter buttercream and covered in vanilla buttercream. Bundt Cake Flavors: 20 marble with vanilla glaze and 20 vanilla with chai glaze.

Woodstock and Kingston (in my opinion) don’t really have great bakeries - EXCEPT OVERLOOK. So good, so fresh, so yummy. If only they made bread…. That’d be a dream come true. But I’ll take what I can get!!!

I was so disappointed with a cake I specially ordered for my husband’s milestone birthday earlier this month. We were traveling to Woodstock to celebrate. My one custom request was ignored with no notice; I’d also called to confirm the bakery had my contact info if there were any issues with this frosting request. I ended up with a generic vanilla cake. The two stars are only because it was pretty and bakery workers were nice. The cake was dry and flavorless, tasted like it’d been refrigerated for several days or defrosted from frozen. We ate one small slice after blowing out candles and threw it all away. $68.70 for a 6 inch cake that was pretty inedible and not customized at all. Would absolutely recommend a grocery store cake instead for a special event.

Passing thru town, lucky to stumble on this bakery. We tried a variety of cookies and all were super good. Welcoming vibe, clean interior, a few tables indoors and outside.

I remembered a really good cookies. It was one of the best chocolate chip cookies. It was my daughter's birthday over the weekend so we got a chocolate cake. The cake was more on the dense size. The frosting was very buttery and hard with no chocolate taste. It was not my daughter's favorite. 4 stars for the cookies.

You really can't go wrong here -- have never had a bad item. Plenty of GF / V options, and I'd go as far as to say the Tahini Chunk is the best gluten free approximation of a chocolate chip cookie I've ever had, but also it's got its own identity, too. I go in there on average 4x a week to pick one up. It's getting embarrassing, but really there's nothing else like it. Super friendly and attentive staff, some nice beverage options, comfortable outdoor seating. Home run. A+. Check it out!

MAJESTIC! What a beautiful place, as soon as we enter the bakery you could smell the amazing bake goods they make They dont have enough space to eat in but the girl i. The counter was great!!

Best cookies ever. Salty sweet soft and firm. Amazing. Their cakes are delicious too and fun for celebrations.

That chocolate-chip cookie!!! What in the world! Chewy and salty and doughy and chocolatey and fresh as eff! Loved it so much and simply sitting there dunking it in one of their cappuccinos. Charming little spot to sit and look out the window and feast on assorted deliciousness. The chocolate cake was pretty good, but totally coming back for that cookie, trying the tahini cookie and more. 5 stars!!!

Everyone was really nice the bakery looked amazing. I did order a cake and got two cupcakes. The cake and cupcakes were very dry. Didn't get a chance to try anything else because I was in the area only for a short time. Service was great just the cake fell short :(

Amazing Woodstock bakery. We came here to get a birthday cake, but they also have delicious cookies and cupcakes and other assorted pastries.

If there's one thing we can all agree on- desserts are amazing. Right? Well...depends where you get them from. Overlook Bakery, on Tinker St in Woodstock, only focuses on two things: cakes and cookies. Most of what I got in the cookie category, was tasty. Overlook B's design is minimal with blush pinks, has an almost blond-color counter with a glass screen dividing you and their buttery sweets. Unique touches of gold, pop up here and there, with a seashelly-type wall hanging that adds a 'what's that'? Overlook B. straight up smells of butter+sugar. Perfect combo! But in Woodstock fashion, there are Vegan options as well. The cookie and cake selections are varied and baked in house mind you with unique ingredients. For instance, there was a Tahini cookie, a Chai snickerdoodle and a Salty Chocolate Chunk cookie. The guy working here was super pleasant and patient as I tried to decide what other goodies I wanted- but settled on a few to start. Between the apricot thumbprint I got, my 2 salty bittersweet chocolate chunks and the chai cookie I also got, if I could do it all over again (which I will), I'd pick the first two. The Thumbprints had that tarty apricot jam which paired perfectly with the cookie's sweetness. The Salty chocolate Chunk had a whole vibe going in that cookie I swear. Do understand, this isn't that type of ultra ooey-gooey cookie either. The center of this cookie, is tender+moist and the edges are crispy- but not break-teeth crispy. They're fine as they are- but I popped mine in the toaster oven to get it warmed and that baby was fantastic. The chai cookie had a wonderful taste- but it was my least favorite because of the cake-type feel. Even for my first visit, Overlook Bakery brings a whole new meaning to cookie comfort in Woodstock. And since I'll be 6 minutes away, this will be habit-forming.

This is the thumbprint cookie with raspberry jam, almond flour base. It was so fresh and delicious, not too sweet, perfectly balanced.

I ordered a strawberry shortcake and chocolate chip cookies from here for a birthday party and everything was amazing! Highly recommend going here if you're in the area!

I ordered a layered carrot cake over the thanksgiving holiday and was fortunate enough to purchase their last spiced pumpkin layer cake. Both were fresh and delicious and the staff is well organized and polite. I will definitely return for the Christmas holiday you just can't go wrong .

Our friend Sabrina gave us an Overlook Apple pie for thanksgiving last night and it was so good there is hardly any left for today (thanksgiving)!!l Delicious doesn't give this pie justice .....it's more "Divine"....it's the best we've had (and we've had a lot!) Thank you Sabrina! Thank you Overlook Bakery!

Rosie took great care of us. We were coming to the Catskills for a hiking / birthday adventure. A few weeks before our arrival I asked if Overlook would bake a pistachio cake. It was a yes! We picked up the cake and cookies and were greeted with a smile. The cake was perfect. It looked and tasted amazing. The inside of Overlook is so nice and clean. They have local drip coffee ready to go. Plenty of different cookies to choose from, an assortment of cakes that are ready. If you're in town, I suggest stopping by for a tasty treat. Burn the calories on a local hiking adventure and feast on a dark chocolate, sea salt cookie.

Finally visited in person and tried a bunch of treats: + Blueberry crumb loaf + Pumpkin bread + Oatmeal date cookie + Salty chocolate chunk cookie The highlights were the pumpkin bread and the chocolate chunk cookie, though everything was solid. Definitely recommend those cookies!

I ordered the Citrus Olive Oil cake with the Orange Swiss Meringue Buttercream for my daughter's Baby Shower. Let me tell you....the cake was absolutely delicious and looked like a work of art!!!! Rose was a delight to work with.

Best salty chocolate chip cookies ever! Crispy, gooey, sweet and salty...everything I want in a cookie. Friendly staff...lemon bars and lemon cake were great too. Smells & tastes like heaven

I'm very late with this review but Rose made my custom wedding cake in 2022 and it was so beautiful and such a hit - multiple guests complimented the flavor and said they went back for seconds. I hope I have the opportunity to stop by the bakery again soon!

In from Philly to visit the Woodstock area for a birthday weekend for my girlfriend and ordered a cosmic chocolate cake on the web for pickup a few days later. Everything was smooth and easy. AND, man, the cake was so good I can't find words to describe! So good I'm writing this review. Only care and attention produce something that good. Thank you, Overlook Bakery!

I'm not sure about the high reviews for this place as it was one of the worst bakeries I have ever been to. Was visiting from nyc and while everything looked nice they tasted awful. The cake was bland and greasy, the cream curdled and overchurned, and the cookies were stale, hard and tasteless. Overlook this place.

I still dream about the first time I bit into a chocolate crinkle cookie. I love this place so much. Great coffee too.

Very delicious and great appeal. Nice service. The only caveat is that it is very expensive. A splurge!

Stopped by this very adorable bakery on Friday and we're just behind a couple who bought our every one of the remaining 45 cookies so we missed out on trying those, however the blueberry crumb loaf, olive oil cake, and chocolate cupcakes were perfection! I highly recommend trying this bakery if you're in the area!

Not only the best bakery in the greater Woodstock area, maybe also in the Catskills and the Hudson Valley and any place ever! The cakes are ridiculously delicious as well as beautiful, they have something for everybody and, yes, the gluten-free and sugar-free items taste just like all of the rest. You absolutely can't go wrong. And, for us Southerners who grew up also in New York or spend time in both areas, it's very hard to find the real buttercream.... But you will find it at the Overlook Bakery! The owners and the staff are some of the most lovely people ever, and they do the most amazing custom orders. Every time I walk in, I am greeted with so much love and deliciousness and beauty that I always want to order at least one of everything.

We had the pleasure of Overlook Bakery cupcakes and cake at our wedding. We had ~60 guests, and purchased 120 cupcakes. They were demolished during the reception, and the departing guests were all too happy to clear up the few remaining; we ended up with just two for our personal enjoyment, and my husband personally reserved those. Ordering was easy, and owner was very accommodating with respect to allergies. One guest could not have cinnamon, one couldn't have eggs, one was gluten-free, a few were lactose intolerant and there were some vegetarians. The chocolate gluten-free cupcakes were amazing, the vanilla cupcakes had no cinnamon, and I heard 5 separate people compliment the carrot cake cupcakes. I'm so grateful that we found this place. They were even willing to deliver at a reasonable rate to Windham for our wedding, and were on time. Note that we also bought some cupcakes prior to their wedding at the venue in Woodstock, which is very pretty. The staff I have met are all nice and clearly love working there.

Everything Overlook Bakery makes is delicious!! We have ordered MANY cakes over the last year and all of our guests tell us it's the best cake they've ever eaten. My personal favorites (besides the CAKE): the salted chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip banana bread & thumbprint cookies. Also, Rosie is an angel and we love her. Get here ASAP!

Absolutely, positively THE most delicious cakes and pies you can imagine!!!! I wouldn't think about going through a holiday or special occasion without ordering from Overlook Bakery!!! We were introduced to Rosie when ordering a birthday cake. The following year we ordered 3 separate birthday cakes for a dinner party.....then came the holidays, my favorite being Thanksgiving with pumpkin cream pie and chocolate cream pie....(this year I-have to double the order)....BUT the run away dessert for 2022 was the Wedding Cake....truly the best for those you love!!!! I stop at Overlook Bakery on my way to friends who all love to receive a box of their delicious cookies and special occasions are always much more special with one of their lovely cakes. We recently had a wedding party for my daughter who requested a carrot cake. Rosie made the most beautiful and delicious wedding cake. She even coordinated with the florist to display the cake with the centerpiece flowers. When the chef at the venue tasted it, he brought home a slice to his son, a carrot cake connoisseur!

If you want to find the best pumpkin pie look no further than Overlook Bakery in Woodstock. I'm not a pie person because I hate the crust. This pie was absolutely delicious so after the first slice we each had a sliver more and then another till there was no pie left. Not only was the pie moist... it had a lightly sweetened pumpkin filling and a crunchy crust with a hint of ginger. It was topped off with fresh whipped cream.

Come here for the chocolate chip sea salt cookies! We were blown away and came back multiple times during our trip upstate just for the cookies.

Got a date oatmeal cookie here and it was delicious! The service was friendly, and the overall place is very cute. I'm surprised it didn't already have a Yelp listing with reviews in front of it! The place offers other cakes, bars, and cookies as well.

Every crumb is delicious! Lemon poppy cake. Chocolate anything. And that key lime pie! Just stop in and buy all the scrumptious things. So good!

Overlook Bakery made our wedding cake and it was AMAZING! We went with funfetti with nutella filling and vanilla cream on the outside. It was DELICIOUS and BEAUTIFUL. We wanted a very simple yet elegant looking cake and Rose's team made that vision come to life. It was so beautiful with a little greenery on top. We also had Rose make it look like our dog took a bite out of the cake which was hilarious and they executed this vision so well. Rose was so easy to work with and so accommodating in every way! We can't wait to go to Overlook again when we're up in Woodstock for other goodies. Highly recommend Overlook for your wedding cake. Our family said it was the BEST wedding cake they've ever had!!

This is a truly magical spot- the baked goods are of a caliber that is more art then anything else- and the cakes (particularly the GF and Vegan ones) are spectacular. Also the cold brew is A++.

Num num! Everything that Rosie and crew make is delicious. Cakes make a birthday special but I often just come in and buy a box of mixed yums from the case. Some favorites include the huge chocolate chip cookies topped with a little fleur du sel, the tahini chocolate cookie, the chocolate crinkle cookie (amazing!), and her delicious nut and chocolate bar (forgetting the name). You really can't go wrong. Nicely decorated and located in the original old Wooodstock Post Office spot with tables outside, too. Friendly staff!

I've purchased two birthday layer cakes here and both were incredibly rich and so delicious. One was chocolate w Nutella and dulce de leche and the other was a rich, double chocolate layer cake. I will definitely get cakes here again. If you want a birthday cake that really knocks your socks off, this is the place! All of the other baked goods and cookies look great too. I'm looking forward to trying more.

Excellent ! would be the proper word to start this review...I recently went to Overlook for the first time and picked up a passion fruit chocolate tart and an assorted grab bag of random pastries. Outstanding flavor profiles and attention to detail from this (very clean) kitchen.. Multiple options for various allergies and dietary restrictions..Woodstock is lucky to have them - A strong addition to the local food scene..

I usually stop in when I pick up or return library books across the street and am so grateful for this place and its master cakemakers. What's in the case changes daily so part of the appeal, for me, is that I never know what goodies will be there calling my name! To a one, everything has been exceptional (I'm partial to the fruit tarts but so far, I haven't seen them in individual sizes so I end up taking home a 10 incher). This is, like I think someone else said, a world class bakery. Overlook, I'm glad you're here and I really, really hope you'll stay open over the winter when the locals need their sweets fixes the most!
