The rooms were really well designed, but the light switches were a little difficult to figure out which switch controlled which light. The food is great for breakfast, although the service was a little slow due to low staffing. The cinema downstairs was fun and easy to access, and gave the whole hotel a popcorn scent in the evening. Parking downstairs is either cheap with the hotel during the week or cheap with the public on the weekends and it is not mandatory to use hotel parking if staying at the hotel. Overall, a great place to stay with a modern design and atmosphere.

Rooms are starting to look tired. I had room 239, which is an accessible room, so has a very large accessible bathroom. The bathroom was showing signs of mould in the grout and the long floor drains had not been cleaned properly, so lots of hair could be seen in the grate. Disappointing for a high-end, high-priced hotel. Due to the carpets being slightly higher pile (more luxurious), dust is collecting at the edges and not being properly cleaned. But the main reason I’m unhappy with this hotel is that they charge for instant coffee!!! As these items were not listed on their minibar menu, I assumed like most hotels, it was free. To my shock, I just received a $23 minibar charge for a single instant coffee. Horrendous. If I’d ordered a room service coffee it would have been substantially less. Very disappointed. UPDATE: they refunded but did not provide a reply email or apology. Be careful you don’t get stung!

I recently stayed at Ovolo Nishi last weekend during our Canberra trip and there were definitely some highlights. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, which made for a pleasant experience. The cocktails and hot toddies were delicious, and breakfast in the morning was also really nice. The location is fantastic and close to everything and very convenient for exploring the area. However, there were a couple of drawbacks. The room felt far too small for two people, which made the stay a bit uncomfortable. It was also disappointing that cocktails stopped being served at 9:00 PM, especially considering many bars continue service much later into the evening. Overall, it was a nice stay with great hospitality, but a few small improvements could really elevate the experience.

A true gem in Canberra - stylish, comfortable, and unforgettable We’ve stayed at Ovolo Nishi at least four times throughout 2023, and even though some time has passed, we still think about it fondly. In Australia, it can be surprisingly hard to find a hotel that combines great design, comfort, and personality and this one absolutely nails it. The entire place is an experience on its own. The interiors are stunning, unique, artistic, and full of character. Every detail feels thoughtful and intentional. The staff is consistently kind, helpful, and welcoming. We genuinely can’t fault the service. The rooms are just perfect, great size, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The beds are insanely cozy, and the blackout curtains make it easy to completely switch off, even in the middle of the day. Total bliss. The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast, it felt a bit uninspired and lacked the same care and flavour that shines through the rest of the hotel. But aside from that, we can’t recommend it enough. A beautiful stay, every time. Can’t wait to go back.

The hotel atmosphere is visually stunning at Ovolo - dark, cosy and vibey. The moment you walk in you will be drawn in by the unique designs along the wall, warm lighting and charming layout. The restaurant offers some amazing bites as well. We were lucky and got a fabulous hotel room. It was spacious, luxurious and well designed. Sleeping there felt very comfortble and we had a nice view of the lake. I would recommend Ovolo for your next Canberra stay.

We stayed one night while we heading back to Sydney from Melbourne. I called the hotel asking about the parking, it got well explained and it was the lady at the reception when we arrived. Also she upgrade our room with on further question when we found the fridge in our room can not be closed properly and we got some food need to be stored in the fridge. Room setting is modern and neat. loved the stay. will recommend. Parking is $35 per day, not cheap, but you can easily found free parking on the street nearby, unlimited time for weekend.

Extremely noisy rooms. Bed linen like canvas. Quite impossible to sleep adequately. Nice thought in layout. Lovely restaurant with expensive food. Helpful bar and reception. Stay if you plan to party. Don't stay if you're looking to relax..or sleep.

5 stars rating for a 5 star experience! Very funky styling and architectural design, we immediately fell in love when we walked in the building. Super cool, and even the room is the smallest type, it still feels comfortable and thoughtful in details. Can’t resist the roughness accent adds in the interior of the hotel, artistic and stylish! The Monster Restaurant was a good option to dine in as well! The staffs are super friendly and helpful!
