Owen's General Store

Google
What a great little general store set in an old renovated building with a little bit of everything; booze, groceries, THC drinks, beer, fruit, vegetable, vegetables, sandwiches, deli counter, and woodfired pizzas. I also have a pastry counter with brownies, cookies, and pies. We got a huge brownie, which was fabulous a lemon blueberry cookie, which was great and a personal blueberry pie with some of the worst crust and almost no filling for 699 – I’d avoid that one. if you’re in Lincolnville center it’s a great place to stop and they have lots of offerings.

Google
Probably the best general store in the region. Awesome pizza, but also a variety of more health conscious options too. Everything in the store is curated well. Quality, unique, and craft options of food and drink available.

Google
As a native Chicagoan, this is the best pizza east of the Indiana/Illinois border. Food, beer, wine, and any other snack are of great quality brands that I don't see in the same super markets often (let alone a general store in the most picturesque part of Maine)

Google
Love this store! We have stopped here a couple times, while out on Our motorcycle ride adventures, for lunch, OH So Good!!! A lot of unique locally made and difficult to find products. Highly recommend!

Elaine K.

Google
Stopped here on our drive to Acadia. They had a great selection. Was very clean! We got a whoopie pie + iced coffee. I want to come back for pizza! The staff was so kind.

Google
Honestly this was a last minute roadside stop, but the pizza was stellar. The owners are lovely as well. Please support this place, it’s a real gem!

Google
Picked up a pizza with tomato, spinach, roasted red peppers and caramelized onions. Wow!!! So flavorful and the crust nicely charred. Such a charming store with a wide variety of gourmet treats. Highly recommend if you’re anywhere near Lincolnville.

Google
So thankful this place is here. Great coffee, baked goods, and wood fired pizza plus the staff is really nice and helpful.

Yelp
Owen's General Store in Lincolnville is anything but your typical general store. It's a little gem full of character and small-town charm. The storefront is adorable with its red barn color and Victorian vibe, and inside you'll find cozy seating areas both indoors and outdoors, perfect for lingering a bit after shopping. The staff here are beyond friendly and helpful. In fact, this is the very place where the "blueberry pie survey" happened. We asked the lady behind the register where to find the best blueberry pie, and she started to ask customers who came by who they recommended. They directed us to Moody's Diner. Locals and staff alike are quick to share stories and recommendations, which makes it feel like you're part of the community even if you're just passing through. The store itself is full of surprises. They've got a wood-burning pizza oven (yes, in a general store, how cool is that?), hot lattes, teas, and other comforting drinks, because nothing beats sipping a latte in a Victorian-style shop while digging into a fresh out of the wood burning oven gooey cheesy slice of pizza. Add in their great selection of beer and wine, plus Maine classics like whoopie pies and Moxie soda, and you've got something for everyone. A local gentleman even gave me the full history of Moxie, and that kind of friendliness is exactly what makes this place so special. Outside, you'll find pretty flowers and herbs adding to the charm. Owen's is quaint, welcoming, and one of those stops that makes a Maine trip extra memorable. Definitely worth a visit or 5! I'll most def be going back!

Yelp
I've ordered their Medusa and Oinker pizzas twice this week. They are so delicious!! Whitney and Matt are doing a great job with this new enterprise. The store is beautiful, and everyone is friendly and inviting.

Yelp
I have been to the Lincolnville General Store twice for lunch. It's my favorite General Store in Maine. The building itself is beautiful and the inside is quaint and charming. Their pizza is very good and probably the best in the local area (see pics). Head to the back of the store and you will find their pizza oven. Grab a slice or order a whole pie. They also sell subs, sandwiches, and even jerk chicken, which looked really good and lasagna. Dessert anyone? Try their homemade chocolate chip cookies! Mmm! Looking for some wine? Look no further, they have a large selection. They also sell local coffee and their produce looks fantastic, obviously farm fresh. They have seating inside and outside and finally the service is great. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Amazing store with wood fired pizza oven. Such a friendly vibe, new owner is so friendly. Looks like local venders provide many of their products. Clientele with sophisticated will feel at home, along with folks who want a large can of Pabst Blue Ribbon for $1.99 and a sandwich to go. Careful if you park across the street in the town parking lot, this is a busy trafficked area in summer. Fine seating options, pillowed window bench seats, lovely plants.

Yelp
They really do have anything and everything you need-fancy cheeses and meats, crackers, snacks, wine and beer. The cashier was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
I love everything about this place - from the cheery staff to the selections of cheese, crackers and meats for charcuterie. They have a little bit of everything. I hear the pizza is good but haven't tried. Loved the broccoli salad. Don't waste your money on the egg sandwich on a biscuit. The biscuits were dry and hard. A major disappointment. Still love the place though.

Yelp
Tasty seafood. Earnest waitstaff. Excellent coastal atmosphere. Seemed wicked good to out of state-ahs.

Yelp
Best pizza in the local area. Hard to find something like that in Maine. Having it wood fired is the best that you again and it is a nice enjoyable place as well.
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
Great pizza and hamburgers. So grateful for this store!! A bit pricey but it's a nice store.
google avatar

Lily H.

Yelp
Hand sanitizer as your enter and free masks available too! We got breakfast sandwiches which were hot, freshly made, and affordable ($4 each). Friendly staff and eclectic mix of items available. Would definitely come back again!

Yelp
Cool shop. Surprising merchandise for a rural Maine store. The pizza kitchen did me no favors. I arrived at 6:30pm (they close at 7:00pm) and they were too busy for a pizza. They had one slice of pepperoni left. It was pretty good, but the sauce was neatly nonexistent. I like a good tangy (not sweet) sauce. But still ok.

Yelp
Nice place but the guy making the pizza should find another job where he doesn't have to see people. He has no manners. I simply tried to order a pizza and he barked "no walk ins", twice. No "I'm sorry" or anything else. Anyway, I put my other two items back and left. The other employees were kind.

Yelp
Are you a Phish fan? The drummer from the band owns this store! The market has a great variety of snacks, wine, cheese, great bread and brick oven pizza and some fun gifts. My only concern would be the sage and palo santo bundles, are they ethically sourced?

Yelp
Keeping this short and sweet, we were starving and Happened upon this place on our way to Bar Harbor. Had Pizza with Ricotta, kale, and sausage, and a roast beef and arugula panini. Both were excellent! Pizza crust was perfect. Thin light, and crisp on the edges. We're from Philadelphia and are super picky about all the food we eat. Happy to right this review.

Heather B.

Yelp
We came to Maine for Phish. I had to stop by for lunch was extremely happy with pizza and potato salad! The brick stone pizza is wonderful fresh ingredients truly wonderful. The beer and wine selection top notch. If I had this general store I could live in Maine. I love the state everyone is just so nice. Signed NV, WA and CA person P.s amazing staff too!

Yelp
We went to the restaurant last night and it was amazing. The staff were so polite and fabulous. The food was delicious. They were short handed a chef but you would never know. All of them were professional and upbeat . We are locals and will be back soon. So glad this gem is in our town!!

Yelp
Upscale country general store with great pizza, sandwiches, wine, bread, cheeses, have a local fresh local vegetables and many many other household items. Being a Lincolnville resident we are there regularly and happy to refer everyone who asks to LCGS.

Yelp
What a great discovery! When driving down the coast of Maine we asked someone where a great lunch could be found near Northport and they directed us here. Who knew that a great Ruben sandwich could be had in the middle of Maine? Love the vibe at this place, sort of organic-arty-bohemian with great simple food and I'm told amazing pizza (although I had the aforementioned Ruben). My friend had mushroom soup which she said was superb. This is not a "wait to be seated place", it's a grab your food and find a seat place which was perfect for a quick lunch on a picture perfect autumn day in Maine.
google avatar

Caitlin R.

Yelp
We love their pizza! So great to have a place we have order pizza with our dietary restrictions (dairy and gluten free) while visiting in Maine.

Benjamin S.

Yelp
I've been in there twice and both times the guy making the pizza struggled with a loose sodden mask. The first time i was in there I told him he should get one that fit. The second time it was on and off, on and off, then I walked up to the register and looked back and everyone back in the food prep area has their mask off and is chatting while cutting up pizzas to go. I get it. Everyone is doing their best, I'm not a Covid zelot but if you are going to be preparing food for people to eat the mask needs to stay on and it needs to not be touched and the have food touched. Check with Mayo Clinic for their recommendations regarding masks. Also this place is heinously overpriced and represents the wave of gentrification that is washing over the Midcoast. Kind of lame.

Yelp
I stopped here with a phriend and was really impressed. The brick oven pizza is amazing, so good in fact that we returned two days in a row with more people to get some more. They also have an incredible beer selection including Bissell Brothers which was surprising.

Robert C. H.

Yelp
Newly renovated - store is very impressive looking. Pleasant porch to sit outdoors. However, it is a tourist trap. The food is very expensive. Four already prepared sandwiches and one pre-packaged salad cost over $100. The food was so-so, and definitely not worth the price. It is a place that I would not return.

Carolyn T.

Yelp
This place is amazing. It has a little of everything and the bakery items are wonderful. We visited here for breakfast a few times during our vacation. Put it on your must try list.
google avatar

Jon C.

Yelp
LGS has one of the best pizzas around but the pricing on their website is inaccurate. I ordered a number four large which is listed at $18 and they charged me $20. Check the pricing when you call it in.
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
Owned by the drummer from Phish, Jon Fishman and his wife Briar did an excellent job rehabbing this heritage building into a fantastically fitted out community space as both a café restaurant and grocery general store. The pizzas were fresh made to order and delicious tasting. The produce was definitely all organic and the stuff on the shelves well selected and curated. Prices are not cheap but staff seem happy and the place is really a thing of beauty.

Yelp
Best pizza in town!!! Lincolnville lucked out with their general store! Great care went into restoring the old building, and it's once again an asset to the community. Well stocked with wine, beer, and local/organic foods, this is a great place to pick up the finishing touches for a meal - whether you're creating a cheese board, adding micro green garnishes, or just ran out of flour. Their kitchen in back dishes up amazing pizzas with perfectly chewy crust - we particularly enjoyed the prosciutto, carmelized onion, and arugula pie. We're thrilled to see such a vibrant business thriving here once again!

L E.

Yelp
An absolutely beautiful location with overpriced goods and rude staff. A great pompous place for out of staters but if you're local go down the road to Drakes.

Kittycat S.

Yelp
What an amazing store. Their pressed Reuben sandwich, sooooo good. Love this quaint store and the brick oven, I want one

Jim M.

Yelp
Excellent pizza! Nice people and EV charging too ( Tesla and J1772). The Kambucha tea is great. The pastries look tempting but haven't tried any yet.

Barry W.

Yelp
A great spot just a little off the beaten path in midcoast Maine - Lincolnville Center. Wonderfully restored 19th century building, right in the center of a small town, with some tables inside as well as a big deep porch to sit out on in nice weather. Upscale groceries, pizza, baked goods, gourmet goodies, beer and wine. I took refuge under the porch overhang on a warm day to eat a crusty toast with goat cheese, sauteed onion and roasted carrots - which was healthy and yummy.

Yelp
Really good pizza but a bit on the pricey side. If you are into locally sourced organic foods and into the hole hippy, hipster scene this I'd the place for you. Don't get me wrong the food is outta this world good, but for most locals paying $18 for a pepperoni pizza is on the expensive side. Definitely geared more twords tourists. Visiting the store just to see the what they've done to breath life into the old building is worth the trip.

Joy M.

Yelp
This is my go-to place for lunch, and I especially love to introduce new people to the store. The food is outstanding, and the menu changes daily. The owners took an obscure, aging building, rehabbed it, and turned it into a place that everyone should seek out. While it's off the beaten track, it's well worthwhile to check it out.

George S.

Yelp
We have been looking for a great margarita pizza for some time. Today we found it at this unexpected place. The General Store is the place to go to escape the seafood indulgences down the road on coastal Maine. Most everything is made on site and organic too. Come and enjoy.

Tamra M.

Yelp
A fantastic new offering in Lincolnville. All manner of gourmet goodies, great wine selection, several flavors of super kombucha on tap as well as outstanding coffee. Enjoyed the pastrami sandwich so much that we have had it twice (generous enough to share). The staff is friendly and genuinely helpful. Can't wait to try the pizza!

Glenn M.

Yelp
So good, sadwiches, pizza, hot lunch. Nuthin Bettah!
