Owl and the Pussycat Hotel & Restaurant

Small gorgeous hotel. The view is spectacular The team are the kindest and helpful bunch of people and make this a super easy and lovely choice. We arrived and I got hot by a nasty cough and cold and need to sleep (for about 40 hours). Fruit and soup were promptly delivered to the room. Rest of the family were presented with options of things to do in the area and transport was sorted quickly. Incredibly kind and welcoming team. Room was lovely. Pool is great for hanging out. Beach is great for walking (you can't swim right there as there is a reef - but 10 minute walk / 3 minute tub tub away there are lots of beaches). Will definitely come back!

We had one of the best stays of our Sri Lanka trip at Owl and the Pussycat. The staff went above and beyond to make my husband’s birthday unforgettable they upgraded our room, surprised us with a beautiful cake, and made us feel truly cared for. The hotel itself is very artistic, filled with books to read, and unique arts and crafts that give it such a warm, creative charm. The surroundings are stunning, with Turtle Beach just a few steps away and a peaceful atmosphere all around. Everything from the hospitality to the setting made our stay so special. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for comfort, character, and unforgettable memories.

I had an amazing stay at The Owl and the Pussycat Hotel. The atmosphere and design were truly unique — every corner felt like a piece of art. The room decor and furnishings were thoughtful, stylish, and full of personality. What really stood out was the incredibly attentive and caring staff — always warm, always helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The seaside view, peaceful surroundings, and delicious breakfast added even more charm to the whole experience. Whether you’re looking for inspiration or pure relaxation, this place is a hidden gem on the coast. I’d absolutely love to come back.

We had an amazing 3-night stay at the Owl and the Pussycat Hotel, and it exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their warm hospitality and attention to detail. Big thanks to Mr Nihal who has been very attentive in assisting our needs and very knowledgable in everything that every tourist need to know ☺️. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, to our surprised, our room was upgraded 😁! Spacious, and had a lovely sea view. One of the highlights was waking up in the morning with the sound of the sea waves and breakfast by the sea was a daily treat! Overall ambiance of the hotel was incredibly relaxing. We also appreciated the little touches—whether it was the thoughtful biscuit in the room after a long day out or the friendly conversations with staff, Rizvi btw was very attentive in serving our breakfast and very polite 👍 The location is ideal too, tucked away enough to feel like a private retreat, yet just a short drive from the main attractions. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and tranquil getaway 😍

Rooms are beautiful. Large like a Service Apartment. Very clean. Twice they do the room cleaning if required. |Staff very polite and well behaved.|Location easily accessible and right beside the Matara highway . It is a beach front property with lovely view.

On the banks of Hunawatuna in the Galle District...stretches of open beaches. Great spot 👌 Pls your stay well with hotel before you book specially the food. 7 minutes to Hunawatuna open bay .. Don't miss own and pussycat. Thank you to Mr Nihal and team.

Absolutely loved my stay – pure relaxation from start to finish. The property is stunning, and I highly recommend booking an ocean view room—there’s nothing like falling asleep to the sound of waves every night. The location is breathtaking, the pool is peaceful and serene, and the set dinners were delicious and beautifully presented.||The staff truly went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and cared for. I felt completely at ease throughout my stay. Already dreaming about coming back!
