Owl's Nest Farm

I LOVE Owl’s Nest CSA!!! Their produce is delicious, super varied, and really easy to access in the DC area (multiple areas across the city to pick up from)!! My household of 2 gets the half csa and it’s plenty for us - we love finding out what we’re getting each wee and figuring out how to use the veggies in our meal plan. It also cuts the grocery shopping and figuring out what to buy down so that’s a big bonus for our busy lives - not to mention the benefit of supporting a local business and getting access to local, in season, fresh foods! We love the farmers and workers here so definitely consider making Owl’s Nest a part of your weekly routines!

My husband and I signed up for a CSA with Owl's Nest last year, and picking up our veggies became the highlight of our month. In rain or shine, the staff was incredibly friendly at every pick-up and over email. The diversity and freshness of the produce inspired us to try new recipes and even wholly new veggies! Their mission and the way they include and support their community really spoke to us. I cannot recommend them enough!

The produce from this place is the best. They mostly sell though CSA shares at the farmer's market but hold open houses a couple of times a year so members can explore the place and see where their food is grown. The shares include all of the staple produce you would expect but with more variety and some fun, extra crops you might not see at the supermarket. If you like to support local business and enjoy fresh veggies packed with flavor, this is the place.

Love the produce from Owls nest! I get my produce from them at one of the many farmers markets they attend. The produce is very fresh, tasty and great quality. In addition the folks that run the farm are amazing- incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about their food and the farm. I would highly recommend getting produce from them.

What's not to love? Supporting a woman-owned farm, eating locally, convening with neighbors, and enjoying excellent produce! We've enjoyed both our winter and spring/summer/fall shares for two years now. Highly recommend!

I've been a member of owl's nest farm for three years - three main season CSAs and three winter CSAs! I love Owl's Nest and have recruited a ton of friends to join as well. The vegetables are consistently delicious (pea shoots and carrots and sweet potatoes and garlic and kale are my fave fave faves) and pickup is a 15 minute walk from my house in Petworth. The best part of this CSA is that I actually truly feel like I know the farmers. I love seeing Rue and Liz at pickup and hearing about baby Wren. They have open house several times a year so I can go see the farm itself and how everything gets done - the greenhouse, the fields, the truck, the wash pack station. It's been a privilege watching Owl's Nest become a worker owned coop and feel happy to have been able to be a CSA member through that process. The fruit and egg and mushroom and grain and solidarity add-ons are fantastic and mean I almost never have to go grocery shopping (except to get tofu!) Thus ends my love letter to owls nest, five stars forever

I love my Owls nest CSA, it is the culinary highlight of my week! The produce is fresh and flavorful. They have full and half share options. I get a half share because i grow things in my garden too. It’s the perfect suppliment in the summer and they keep me stocked in the winter with roots and greens as well. They also offer add ons to their CSA, the eggs are delicious, the local grains are a treat and the solidarity add ons are. great way to learn about new offerings from local folks. The email you get with your share gives insight into the farm and a preview of what you’ll pick up that week. I can pick up in Brentwood, which is really convenient for me.
