The Best Restaurants In San Jose - San Jose - The Infatuation

"Ox9 Lanzhou was the first restaurant in the Bay Area to specialize in noodles from China’s northwestern Gansu Province, and two of its four outposts are located in the San Jose metro area (Cupertino and Milpitas). They've got six noodle styles you can slurp in complex broths, sauces, and pastes brimming with spice. The sichuan braised beef stew, which takes a full ten hours to slowly simmer, is a real standout—especially when paired with flat, broad noodles. Prime your palate with an order of sinus-clearing crispy lamb chops that get their kick from chili powder." - shoshi parks

Very friendly and great service along with good food. We ordered both the langzhu hand pulled noodles which came with thin slices of pork. We also ordered the beef with pickled vegetables which we think has more flavor than the other dish. But both were excellent and the bowls were very large and came to our table a few minutes after we ordered. Service was exceptional with the staff asking several times if we needed anything else. The bathroom was very clean as well. We highly recommend this place.

Google
Really great noodles, especially the wide ones. Loved the lamb chow mein and the chili oil noodles with stewed beef are amazing. Noodles are very long and irregular. Delicious! Admittedly, the one in San Mateo is somewhat better (noodles feel more freshly boiled), but this is a great stop for the area.

Google
God. I'm still dreaming about these noodles. The portions are gigantic, so I took home half of my plate to eat at lunch the next day, but I couldn't stop thinking about the noodles, so I just ate them that same night. My friends complained about the lack of meat in the dishes, and I agree with them, but the flavors are just amazing. 10/10. The attention was also really good. I definitely recommend this place. It has become one of my favorites.

Google
Their hand made noodles are really good. Soup is also very good. Meat is so so in terms of quality and quantity. Seevice is excellent. Cannot ask more.

Google
I love this place. Between this location and the Milpitas one (now closed), I must have gone like 50 times in 4 years. My usual order is the Lanzhou beef handpulled noodles and popcorn chicken. I’ve tried others but this is my favorite. The quantity of the beef may not be much, but I’m ok with that. The soup is delicious! Pro tip: order extra broth to make into two meals. I have a decent appetite but can never finish the noodles, just the broth.

Feb 2024 update The more I try this place, the more I realize how amazing the food is. Granted I already gave four stars in my Aug 1023 review, but after trying the lamb dishes, wow. Five stars. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aug 2023 We ordered the following: Cold noodles with chicken slices (medium round noodle) and Lanzhou hand pulled noodles (belt wide noodles) You can select the noodle size, which has a big impact on the look of the dish (keep in mind when assessing the pics) and the dining experience. The belt wide noodles are literally the width of a belt. They're delicious but because of the width and length of the noodles, it requires additional handling to eat -- nothing major. But if you're famished, id suggest a smaller noodle for faster eating. The food was delicious. It didn't seem too salty. The ambience was clean but no frills, except for the map of the silk road which was educational. If you like simple yet delicious food (and geography), check out Ox 9.

Yummmmy 🤤I got the spicy beef lover soup with soybean paste on the side + Thai ice tea. Hand pulled noodles are regular ones sooooo good. Devoured it.

Google
Came here on a Saturday night at 5:15 and there was no wait so this was a super great and fast experience. I've been wanting to come here for a while now so I'm glad that I could come. Good: The place has many noodle options and the food comes out quickly after you order from a QR code. I really liked my chili oil wide noodle dish - it was tasty and wasn't actually that spicy so my weak spice tolerance could still handle it. It was also just so tasty and I was surprised at how tasty it was given the limited ingredients. The wide noodles are so chewy. I also really liked the chili wontons since they had a similar taste as the chili oil noodles. Bad: The noodles are so long that you have to cut it up a bit yourself because if you took a whole noodle, it would be so long that it gets a bit messy. The stewed lamb noodles are a bit bland. Overall would come again! I really love noodles and this place delivered on yummy noodles and great texture and fast service.

Yelp
Food was bomb and perfectly seasoned. Noodles tasted fresh, spice level was perfect with a scoop of their house made chili crisp, and the spicy pig ears were so addicting. Service was excellent and they kept refilling our waters and checking up on us. Awesome meal in Cupertino. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Average noodles with overly salty broth... ;( Came for a Saturday dinner after running errands Previous takeout customer, first dine-in experience Food Quality: 2/5 Beef Noodles with Chinese Pickle: It came with unpeeled garlic (nice touch if you're into fresh garlic). Regular Round noodles: Okay texture, nothing impressive despite watching chef hand-pull them in kitchen. Major disappointment: Beef broth was overwhelmingly salty, basically tasted like drinking soy sauce. High expectations from seeing the noodle-making process, but the overall execution fell short. Service Experience: 4/5 No wait despite dinner rush timing Clean table upon seating Friendly server staff Perceived Value: 2/5 Affordable pricing for prime Cupertino location. However, even at reasonable prices, hard to justify paying for essentially soy sauce soup...Quality doesn't match the cost, regardless of affordability

Yelp
I love this place . Solid Noodles and broth for a great price too. My personal favorites are the beef stew and their classic hand pulled ones. I highly recommend adding in the vinegar and chili oil for more flavor as well. There's a Qr code where u scan and order. The food comes out really quick and they were on top of their service.

Yelp
Came here for a quick lunch on our final day in the Bay Area. Every table has a QR code for you to look at the menu and you can also order through the QR code as well. My husband got their beef noodles with chinese pickles with round noodles while I got their stewed lamb noodles with belt flat. The stewed lamb noodles were very good. The soup had good flavor -- you can taste that it's lamb but its not super gamey. I kind of wished it had a deeper lamb flavor to the soup. The lamb pieces were cut into cubes and really easy to eat. The noodles were great! They were super wide, thick, and had a great chew. Add a splash of chili oil and you got the perfect meal. I think belt flat may have been a bit too wide -- large flat might be better but I still enjoyed my bowl regardless. My husband liked this bowl of noodles as well. Good beefy flavor to the soup and the noodles were cooked well. Overall, delicious, easy, and quick. Wouldn't mind coming back if I was visiting again!

Yelp
Great homemade noodle place. Dishes have lots of flavor. Service is friendly and efficient. Come in, eat fresh noodles, leave with a smile.

Yelp
You can actually see the chefs hand-pulling noodles through the glass while you're waiting--pretty cool and makes the wait more fun. When you order, they let you choose the thickness of your noodles, which is a nice touch. Fresh Celery with Yuba - 5/5 Super refreshing little side dish. Light, crisp, and perfectly seasoned--not too salty, just right. Beef Noodles with Chinese Pickle - 4/5 I picked the thinnest noodles and loved the texture. The broth has a bit of spice to it, and the beef was super tender--basically melts in your mouth. Only downside was the soup being a little salty for my taste. Definitely planning to come back and try more dishes next time!

Yelp
Quality/Quantity - Simple menu done well. Complimentary garlic cloves, not sure how to have added this to our dish...? Sichuan Braised Beef Stew Noodles - Just had beef stew yesterday at Baby Cafe in San Leandro; another 5 star review. Baby Cafe's beef was actually more tender. But this was still good here. Good spices, flavors, with a slight kick, etc. Large flat noodles, so good. Lanzhou Hand Pulled Noodles - Also good. Had this with regular round noodles. The noodles were amazingly long, never ending. Glad we got smart and asked for scissors. Atmosphere - Small location. Cool decor. The entrance in the rear of the building. Plenty of mall parking for a small mall. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 9pm. Service - 5 stars. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, etc. Actually, it still felt like a local "mom & pop" operation. They even gave my wife a bib as she was starting to slurp, lol. Price - $33 + generous tip. Reasonably priced for what we got. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2017 with your 4 locations. Congrats to Nina Qu and such a successful business. I/we will be regular customers. Too bad my picture of your history from 2012 is too small of a font. I guess I just have to come back again soon.

Yelp
The hand pulled noodles are delicious! The chili isn't too spicy, it gives a perfect amount of kick. The noodles are very bouncy and you can tell that they are hand pulled by the length of each noodle as well as its irregular shape. The vegetables complement the chili oil noodles perfectly. Meat is flavored really well tastes oriental dududud

Yelp
Located near Bollinger Rd, parking is few and hard to find. There are lots of seating. The noise level was average. Lanzhou handpulled noodles. Medium round (5/5): the noodles were amazing. Quite al dente and got a chewy texture. The broth was fantastic. It was light yet had a good kick. Super fragrant and flavorful. The beef was sliced thinly and tender. Tap to pay is not accepted. Overall, Ox 9 is a great place for some delicious noodles. There's a good selection of noodles types.

Yelp
My husband and I were craving some noodles- we both got the Lanzhou beef noodle soup- both bowls were delicious. He got it spicy with regular sized noodles, and I got wider noodles, not spicy. Tasted like two different bowls of noodles and both were delicious. Service was great and very clean.

Yelp
This place has been on my list for quite some time! Who doesn't love a variety of noodles??? They have 6 types of noodles. 3 round and 3 flat. All different thicknesses. They don't differ in price either! I ordered the large flat with the Chinese Beef Noodle soup. The soup is perfect for a cold winter day. There is a lot of flavor in the broth. I personally thought the beef was a tad bit overcooked, but I still finished it. I also ordered it with the Chinese pickles which added a nice sour offset to the salty broth. I would definitely come back here to try their dry noodles! So yummy.

Yelp
Was craving hand pulled noodles and decided to give this place a try. They have a QR code to scan to place your order or you can place with the worker. I got the beef noodles with Chinese pickled vegetables. You get to pick your own noodle thickness and they have a chart that helps guide how thick they are. The noodles are really good and have the perfect amount of chew. The soup and beef is really flavorful as well. I wish they had more onions and cilantro though as that really helped marry the flavors. The chili oil wontons were not for me. They are on the sweeter side and not spicy at all. It seems to be a different chili oil than what is provided at the table. The table chili oil is really tasty and spicy. But the ones in the wontons are completely different. It's a pretty small restaurant with limited seating. But there seemed to be a steady stream of people dining and you get your food pretty quickly.

Yelp
Waiiiiit a second. I can't believe I never left a review. I have been coming here religiously because it is so good. I love ox 9! This location particularly because they have chicken chow mein. Other locations don't have chicken option. Don't forget to get the spicy wontons! They compliment the meal very well. Food comes out super quick!

Yelp
Their sichuan braised beef stew noodles was amazing! Pretty quick service and good portions! I also got their pork burger

Yelp
We had a fun time at Deer Hollow and worked up an appetite for lunch so we finally tried this place that had been on my to-eat list for years. Little did I know they have multiple locations in the south bay. We were seated right away on a Sunday because we squished into a table for two. It isn't a large place so be prepared to wait if you want a table for 4. I ordered the popcorn chicken, stewed pork ribs noodle, and the chicken fried noodles. I love thick noodles so I went for the biggest they had. My toddler loved the popcorn chicken and even though my pork soup was spicy, he loved the noodles. The soup was spectacular- reminded me of a Mexican pork stew my grandma used to make. You can really taste all the spices and the difference with the noodles. We were also impressed with how quick the service is. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. We ordered online at our table and the food came out right away. They also pack your leftovers up. Exceptional service and you get a lot of food!

Yelp
Have been having their hand pulled noodle n dishes for years, before they serve in various locations in the Bay. Among the three locations we have visited, this kitchen keeps the consistency in quality n service. Outdoor: easy parking even during weekends Indoor: clean n tidy. Good table setting Decoration: good Menu n Ordering: clear n easy Customer service: friendly n professional Food quality: outstanding Highly recommend

Yelp
I wasn't too thrill to see plastic cup for water because of not environmentally friendly. Lanchou noodle - Texture was excellent and I ordered medium round. Chewy. And the soup has good flavor but not rich. I order mild spicy and they just added chili sauce. The soup for the 紅燒牛肉麵is much better.
google avatar

Yelp
Very delicious; cool experience. I tried the hand pulled noodles in chili oil and the flaky bread appetizer. The noodles, doused in chili oil, are lovely, though they were served warm, not hot, which was a bummer for me, as I prefer hot food. I suspect warm or room temp is the traditional style and not an accident, since the seasoned egg was served hot in the dish. The bread was absolutely amazing, pieces of crispy fried bread imbued with flavorful chili paste. Thai iced tea was the perfect creamy, sweet drink to counterbalance the salty, spicy dishes. I loved the way they made this accessible to non-Chinese customers. Great ease of ordering with QR code. It's so helpful to have the menu labeled with vegetarian notations.

Yelp
Parking was pretty easy to find in the plaza. This place has been hyped up by all of my friends. Gotta say, didn't live up to the hype for me. We got seated pretty easily and quickly. I try to limit my consumption of red meat so opted for the cold noodles with chicken slices. My boyfriend got the lanzhou hand pulled noodles. My boyfriend's noodles had great texture and the soup was flavorful. He said the meat was tender. My noodles were ok. The sauce was nice and flavorful, the chili sauce wasn't very spicy. The chicken was soooo dry. It was like eating jerky. I tried to rehydrate it by tossing it into the sauce more, but it didn't help. It's my belief that if it's on the menu, it should taste good. So yes, this place specializes in their beef dishes, but if they're going to have chicken on the menu, they need to ensure that it meets quality and taste standards. Probably wouldn't order the chicken here.

Yelp
Came on the weekend right at lunch time. Had to park in the shopping strip parking next door. The place was crazy packed and had to sign up on the wait list. Didn't have to wait that long. The place is clean and lots of tables. It was nice they had the noodle key card. The service was relatively quick when asked for water, scissors, box, and the check. I maybe wrong but the menu looked a little different from the one in Fremont. I've had the braised beef soup and it wasn't spicy not had pickles. Food is still good. Popcorn chicken was fresh, seasoned well, and not dry which is the deal breaker for fried meats. I tried a different noodle this time for beef chow fun. It is good at this location too. The prices are a little higher at this location. Overall worth it.

Yelp
I came by around 8:15 pm for dinner and was seated right away. The shop was pretty busy but service was polite and efficient. I liked the bowl of garlic cloves on the table. My dining companion and I ordered the chili oil noodles ($13.48) with extra noodles ($5) and beef ($6), pork and cabbage dumplings ($11.98), and cucumber with garlic sauce ($7.98) to share. The chili oil noodles were a pleasant tangle of wide belt noodles slicked with chili oil and topped with bean sprouts, shredded carrot, and bok choy. The noodles had a nice chew but I've had lighter, springier noodles. They were still satisfying to eat with the chili oil and steamed veggies though. The side order of beef was 6 thin slices of beef tendon which made the dish a bit heartier but didn't add much. The pork and cabbage dumplings had pleasantly chewy skins but the filling was underseasoned. All was fine with a dip of vinegar and soy sauce. The cucumber with garlic sauce was refreshing, balanced, and had a mild garlic flavor. It was my favorite dish of the night. Overall, Ox 9 isn't bad! I wasn't in love with all of my dishes, but I'd come back to try other stuff on the menu. There were plenty of happy diners around me so I think that's promising.

Yelp
Everything was perfect, we got sat quickly, our food came fast and was fresh and delicious! Great service! Our server Jack went above and beyond to show us how everything worked, making us feel welcome and at home!

Yelp
Ox9 serves hand pulled noodles that are fresh and have a great texture. However, while the taste is good, it isn't mind-blowing. The ambiance is pleasant, and the service is attentive with ordering being through a QR code. It's a solid choice for hand pulled noodles and will satisfy your cravings. Beef Noodles with Chinese Pickle Noodles: Soup was nice and clear. The meat was tender and there was a good amount of it in the soup. You can definitely share this with two people. Big Plate Chicken with Noodles: Flavor was decent, but nothing mind-blowing. The chicken was tender and the dish was loaded with potatoes/onions. Portion was HUGE and it could be shared with 2-3 people easily.

Yelp
I rarely eat at Oz 9 Lanzhou HandPulled Noodles, but it's my favorite place for hand-pulled noodles. The beef stew with noodles is delicious. I recommend adding some spice and vinegar for extra flavor. The beef chow mein is also very flavorful. You can choose the type of noodle you want, whether it's big or small, round or flat. You used to read the menu and ask the waiter to take your order. Now, there is an electric QR service on the wall at your table. Don't take a picture of the QR code, just scan it with your camera app and place your order. It will be ready in 7-15 minutes. The atmosphere is okay for the customer. It doesn't have too much decorative on the wall. Unfortunately, I dont see any more exciting entertainment with the hand-pulled noodles in front of the window. It's important to eat your meal!

Yelp
The soup here is so good on it's own, I could drink it by itself any day! Came here when it opened to pick up noodles for my parents and broth for myself since I couldn't have solids that day and since I was the first customer, ordering was quick and the food came out really quickly. I ordered the original beef noodle soup along with 3 more containers of extra broth to go so while I didn't sit, the place seemed really clean inside. My parents ate the noodles and said the texture along with the toppings were great. They also really enjoyed the soup as well. As for me, I only drank the soup and it's definitely a bit different from the Taiwanese beef noodle soup I grew up with! This ones light in color, got a little peppercorn kick, and super rich tasting. Would definitely be back again soon to try out their noodles and side dishes!

Yelp
Finally got around to trying this rather popular noodle chain that also has a location in Valley Fair. Overall, the interior is smaller than you'd expect and the menu carries standard variations of beef noodle soups and dry noodles. We ordered the Sichuan Spicy noodles and the dry ground pork noodles. Surprisingly, the dry noodles were much better than the soup variant. The noodles on the Sichuan beef noodle soup were a bit soggy and missing that al dente bite. The portion of noodles to soup were also a bit overwhelming- with a LOT of noodles that soaked on the soup quickly that made you feel a bit rushed to eat it all. Without the extra texture, the whole bowl felt a bit boring to eat as you kept going. The dry noodles were much bouncier and balanced with the ground pork. Compared to the many noodle options around Cupertino - this one felt a bit lackluster and overhyped unfortunately

Yelp
Authentic hand-pulled noodles! The service was great; they were really attentive and efficient, and there was a decent amount of seating on the inside. I love how they have all these different types of noodles, from wide to thin to chewy, etc. We got the Stewed Lamb Noodles with thin noodles and the Chili Oil Noodles with wide noodles. Both were amazing, and the noodles were very QQ. My only wish is that the Chili Oil Noodles were a bit spicier. We also got the spicy pig ear, which was the perfect accompaniment to the noodles.

Yelp
I came in a fairly large group. The restaurant has limited seating, so we waited almost an hour, for lunch on the weekend. Once we were seated, we received our beverages quickly. Our food also came out very quickly after we ordered. I ordered the classic Lanzhou handpulled noodle soup, with regular noodles. It was a generous portion and I wasn't able to finish all my noodles. The broth was fine, and there were a few slices of beef to balance out the carbs. The noodles themselves were definitely the star of the show, very chewy with good flavor. I was grateful that the dish was on the mild side and not too spicy! The lamb skewers made a fantastic shared plate and welcomed protein add-on to the meal.

Yelp
Love me some hand pulled noodles. Ox 9 has several locations - similar menu. We had 4 noodle dishes, the mung bean noodles, potato salad, and dumplings. Everything was very good. What's great about Ox 9 is that you choose your noodle for every dish - regular round, big round, small flat or large flat. So I chose large flat for the chow mein and it became - ta da! - chow fun. Nice efficient servers, clean place, reasonable prices, good food.

Yelp
I have heard of this noodle restaurant often and this was my first time trying it. I came here on a Wednesday night and there was no wait. Seems like there is plenty of seating inside. You view the menu and order through a QR code. Marinated cucumber salad (4/5): A simple and spicy cucumber salad. The vinegar flavor was very strong for my liking. Spicy ground pork dry noodles (4/5): You are able to choose the type of noodle you want. You can choose between round (small, regular, or medium) or flat (small, large, or belt). The large flat noodles had a nice texture and bounce. The flavor of the sauce and pork were good. I expected it to be spicer though. Pork dumpling with green chives (4/5): Pork and chives is always a good combo. The dumpling doesn't come with a sauce but there is condiments like chili oil and soy sauce on the table you can pair with it. Overall a good try! I would probably come back again to try some of their noodle soups and other appetizers.

Yelp
I've tried Ox9 before at the San Mateo location so I was excited to check out the Cupertino one too! There was barely a wait even on a weekend evening and service was fast. There were several parties eating inside so you might catch the peak time. You order online by scanning their QR code menus. I ordered the Sichuan Braised Beef Stew Noodles. The beef was nice and tender and the wide noodles were chewy and al dente even in the soup. The soup was a tad on the oily side though and did come out lukewarm. I preferred the dry noodle bowl I ordered last time at the San Mateo location. Overall I was a little disappointed by the soup quality, but it was still a filling hearty meal.

Yelp
SERVICE - located off of De Anza Blvd near a few other store and restaurants - parking available in lot - entrance at the back - ambiance good for casual lunch or dinner - many people doing takeout - order from QR code on table - service is very fast MENU - Chinese hand pulled noodles in 5 sizes and a few different sauce/protein options - vegan options marked - well priced ($14 per entree) FOOD - chili oil noodles (6/10): wide noodles coated in chili oil and tossed with carrot, bean sprouts, and bok choy. This was one of the vegetarian options and it seemed to be the most unique to this cuisine. The noodles are brought steaming hot to the table which shows how fresh it is. I liked how they added the vegetables as they provided a contrast to what would otherwise have just been noodles and oil. I would have liked smoked or fried tofu as a protein option. The noodles themselves are well cooked, long and chewy. The sauce is oily and slightly spicy but could have used more chili. WOULD I GO BACK? If I wanted a casual spot for a quick meal then yes.

Great food, fast service, and clean & efficient restaurant. Been coming here since it opened and it is always a pleasure coming back to. 10/10 would recommend

Yelp
Walking into this place and taking a nice big wipf of the stink in the air reminded me of my Travels through Chengdu in the Sichuan Province. Chengdu is the 4rd largest city in China, according to the Wikipedia. Do you need to know that? No. Do you care? Definitely not. But now you do, and I did that. It's MiNd CoNtRoL!! O____o Anyway, yo, this place is legit! One of those places where you're not even sure if they're gonna speak English, but they do! Isn't that bonkers?! So yeah, I got the Sichuan Noodz, but I don't particularly remember if they were super spicy or anything, but I remember liking them.. GD it, guess I gotta go back and try them again!! Uh, the pig ears were cold, which is very much not what I like, but it wasn't unexpected, cuz I've had stuff like that before, but I'm still not loco (crazy) for it. Anyway, check 'em out. S'all good baby!!

Yelp
Service is fantastic - waitress always asking if we needed water or help ordering. Food was delicious, I highly recommend the dry spicy pork noodles and the marinated cucumbers.

Yelp
My husband came here and raved about it so much that we went back as a family. We got the spare rib soup, a Both the spare rib and beef noodle soups had a slight kick in the soup base, but our older two kids could eat it. The vegetable soup had a nice clear broth and came with bok choy, daikon, and lots of noodles. Now onto the hand pulled noodles, which is what Ox 9 is known for. There were so many options but we decided to try the belt noodles and large flat. Of the two, we preferred the large flat, which is the second largest/widest option. The belt felt style is good for those who want a lot of noodles in every bite, but it gets hard to wield at that size and we had to hack the noodles into more bite size pieces with a pair of scissors. I will say I like the noodles here more than the soup base. To be fair, I'm critical of most soups at restaurants, which I find too salty. But for a steaming hot bowl of noodles on a cold winter day, Ox 9 hits the spot. We came just at 6PM on a weekday and by the time we left, the place was packed. It's a small restaurant so definitely come early to avoid the line!

Yelp
Oh my god, I'm still thinking about this meal 5 months later... so so delicious. Probably the best cucumber salad I've ever had, extremely addicting flavor (the spiral one, not the chopped up one). The noodles were also super fresh with hearty broth in the soup and nice and spicy sauce on the other dish. I am counting down the days until I can return to San Jose and eat this meal again.

Yelp
Came here because my former coworker suggested that the hand pulled noodles were delicious. In fact, this place did not disappoint. The A1 Beef noodle soup was delicious. It was a bit hot for soup, but the beef was tender. Service was really excellent. They kept our water glasses filled, even after we finished eating, and food came out fast. The restrooms were clean. Parking is a bit cramped in the parking lot, however, there is plenty of parking in the shopping lot next door.

Yelp
The broth had a deep flavor that soaked into the beef perfectly, and the noodles had the perfect chewy texture you want in hand pulled noodles. The cold beef appetizer was extremely flavorful too

Yelp
I always love Ox 9, I think their Lanzhou hand pulled noodles is the best in the Bay Area. Add extra sliced beef if you want a little more protein, one bite of noodles with one bite of beef in your month, I think it's worth the extra money. Don't forget to add some of the chili oil, really delicious!

Yelp
Problematically good lol! We've already been back several times. Service is amazing (there's one lady at the Cupertino location who is so welcoming and helpful). Food comes out quickly. Noodles are fresh, and I love the vegetarian chili noodles. My husband has gotten as few thing, but has gotten their different noodle based soups several times and always leaves satisfied.

Yelp
Quick lunch with coworkers. I wasn't feeling like getting anything oily or warm, but it was the time of the month for one of my coworkers and she was craving this. The restaurant was full with just one table open on a Tuesday at 12:30pm when we arrived. Service was quick and ordering was over the phone. I ordered cold noodles with chicken slices and it was so refreshing! Would be down to come back

Yelp
They speak Mandarin Chinese and English. Lots of Chinese-speaking older ladies are lunch, so it just be fairly authen Can order online for pickup through 39miles (and I am sure things like DoorDash or Panda, but who wants to pay that markup??) - have to pay in-store though, not online. They have clover set up, so the convenience of tap at your fingertips. They put up a picture over the windows, so you can't see straight into the kitchen as easily, but the pickup area still has some glass for seeing in if you're curious. Ordered the soybean paste dry noodles to go. I like that they packed the noodles and sauce separately. I ordered the regulat round noodles, but I think I will get a thicker one next time. As others have mentioned, it is a fairly small parking lot so you may have to park at the other end of the next lot if it is busy

Yelp
Ox 9 is a classic chinese noodle restaurant that serves all types of noodles from soup based, to stir fried, with a variety of thin, thick, round, up to 6 different choices. The servers are pretty attentive and will always refill your water without asking and the food comes out pretty fast. Menu's are via scanning from a QR code and is easy to order online. But you pay in person instead of doing it via onlinez Plenty of seats but there might be a wait at high times. Parking lot is also kinda small but the lot next door/ residential down the street has availability as a last resort. Would recommend if you need a noodle fix!

Yelp
What sets Ox 9 apart from other establishments is their singular focus on the noodles, building a menu around their acclaimed handpulled noodles. They offer 6 different types of noodles which range from small thin noodles, to mid-range, to thick flat noodles. Patrons can dine on their noodles in a variety of preparations from soup noodles to stir-fried noodles. They also offer a modest selection of sides and other items such as their juicy pork and beef burgers. The store itself is on the smaller side, and if you arrive around peak dinner hour do anticipate waiting for a table. It's also worth mentioning parking can be a bit tight here, so you might find yourself parking at a nearby complex and walking over - not a deal breaker, but definitely something to note. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Saturday evening and were seated immediately. (Note: we likely just beat the dinner rush as a lot more diners started showing up around 7pm and had to start signing up on the Yelp waitlist for a table). We ordered their Lanzhou Handpulled Noodles (non-spicy, which they were able to accommodate - thank goodness for my sake), stewed lamb noodles, and their juicy pork burger. We went with the 2nd out of the 6 noodle options, which was a thin round noodle. Both noodle soups were flavorful and comforting. While the noodles themselves were cooked well with just enough bite and chew without being overly tough. I will note given the handpulled nature of the noodles you might find yourself struggling to find the end of one of them. If you're planning to share your bowl with others at the table, you can ask the staff for a pair of scissors to help you with cutting up the noodles so it doesn't feel like you're wrestling with noodles for the entirety of your meal. Last but not least, the juicy pork burger lived up to its namesake with flavorful, well-seasoned pork encased in a delicious crisp bun. If you're a fan of high-quality noodles, then Ox 9 Lanzhou HandPulled Noodles has to be the next stop for you as it'll happily satisfy that craving.

Yelp
We came here for lunch earlier. We ordered a few dishes, but spicy wonton and beef noodle were our favorite. Especially, the spicy wonton was so good and very tasty. The service was quick and the food came out about 7 minutes after ordering. The restaurant looked pretty clean. We will come back to try other dishes next time.
