"Housed in a former mill, along with a beer hall and cocktail bar, this unpretentious restaurant attracts a young and lively crowd keen to sample its wood-fired cooking using a grill imported from the US. Utilising fire and smoke to enhance quality produce is the name of the game – with the 1kg côte de boeuf on hand if you're feeling flush – but the kitchen isn't afraid of adding in bold flavours too, as evidenced by the nduja with the oysters and the gochujang glaze on the crispy pig tails. Pleasingly, there's plenty of choice for vegetarians too." - Michelin Inspector

An interesting quaint hole in the wall, with a precious michelin star! Booked this for that reason, and was joyful about what we received. Innovative but not necessarily amazing.. Definitely an experience. Had the pig tails, artichoke, and duck for starters. Then the steak. Fun combinations and harmonious flavors. This was the menu and specials of the day.

The food was excellent. I can highly recommend the pigs tails. The wine and non alcoholic options were also lovely along with the waiting staff who were knowledgeable and helped us with our choices. The only downside for us was the toilets were a trek through a busy bar which then ruins the calm dining experience.

Really cool vibe in the restaurant. The menu is pretty limited and for £90 I don’t think we received enough steak for our money. The bread is insanely good and everything was tasty. Service was average and they do make a good negroni but I don’t think this warranted a £20 service charge.

Came for a special occasion, was great to go to Headrow house for some drinks before hand. Waiters gave good recommendations for food and made it feel really special. The steak and chips deal was delicious, it was clear that despite being one of the cheapest dishes this did not have an impact on the quality. Would definitely recommend.

Best British food I’ve ever had! I love all the sauces, seasoning was on point! Their menu changes too. Didn’t have to prebook if you come 6pm, I guess it’s early dinner, plenty seats. Great service, waiter gave good recommendations and very friendly, enjoyed our time there very much. My favourite was the ox heart with oyster sauce, it was an interesting texture that almost didn’t taste like heart (I’ve had chicken heart before) and the oyster sauce was creamy with a hint of oyster, I really enjoy the natural flavour of the ingredients, they were paired and chosen well. The mutton kofta itself was a bit tough and salty and in my opinion would’ve been better medium rare. The cherry tomatoes came with it were the best I’ve had, juicy and good balance of sweet and sour. The medium rare steak with pepper sauce was great too, we ordered fries on the side. Again the pepper sauce was excellent, it had a spicy kick to it, I’d buy all of their sauces. Steak was done well too. The basque cheesecake was ok, standard good cake, not too sweet.

Elevated British cuisine ⭐ The portions are not massive but the food is absolutely delicious! Such a treat. Perfect service, attentive but not overbearing. Absolutely loved it!

Google
Not sure where this 4.7 rating came from, must be paid ads or something. The food was seriously average. I was actually shocked at how badly they managed to do the most famous Spanish dish, the padrón peppers. The skin wasn’t even cooked through, seasoning was way too salty. Took one bite and sent it back. When the waiter asked what was wrong, we told her this just isn’t how it’s supposed to be done. She shrugged and said “well, that’s padrón peppers.” We were speechless. Look, I’m no chef, but I’ve had them in Spain and this was nothing alike. As for the steak, which I assume is meant to be their signature, it wasn’t anywhere near as tender or high quality as I expected. I’ve seen their Instagram photos and I’ll give credit, whoever took those pictures is seriously talented, because the real thing is miles off. The vibe inside is decent, I’ll admit, good for a date spot, but the food was honestly poor. If you think this is the best you’ve had, maybe you just haven’t had proper food before. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that’s the truth. And when we left, not even a goodbye from the staff. Guess they just can’t handle criticism.😅 And let’s be real, if you’re charging that kind of money, the dishes need to live up to the price tag. They absolutely didn’t. Terrible experience, won’t be coming back. Oh, and to make it worse, this was me and my partner’s two-year anniversary dinner. Couldn’t have been more disappointing.

Delicious hidden gem in centre of Leeds. The service is outstanding, food is perfect, love the bbq concept. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Has to be the best Sunday lunch I've had outside of London (at what I rate really good Sunday lunches - Blacklock and Hawksmoor). Lovely relaxed atmosphere and great service. Had the Chicken Livers on Waffle to start - which was super tasty. For the main event had Roast Beef with the best potatoes ever. Over ordered as also had cauliflower cheese on the side! Finished it off with a Baked Alaska! Could not recommend the place more - can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I'm a fan of Ox Club but definitely think it's carried by it's trendy-ness. I would give it a solid 3.5 stars if possible. I came for dinner on Friday night and loved it right off the bat. The first thing you notice is that it's much smaller than you imaged. Headrow House is super trendy (neon signs, etc) and so is Ox Club. From what I saw, all the men who worked here had beards! The kitchen was open which meant you could see all the action going on - always a good touch. The food wasn't as good unfortunately. We ordered two starters: the Hamachi Tuna (one of the specials) and a Radish dish. I thought the Radish was pretty good - very light and fresh - but maybe that's because I'm not used to eating Radish like that. The tuna was average. For our mains, we ordered a Onglet steak (a special) and a Iberico Secreto (a pork cut from behind the neck). The Iberico Secreto wasn't bad and was pretty tender. On the other hand, the Onglet didn't taste of much at all. The hogweed side that it came with was honestly 10x better. We also ordered some potatoes and spinach on the side. I was impressed by the spinach which was sweet as it was paired with Apple slices and walnuts. The potatoes were... well standard potatoes. They were sitting in a seaweed sauce which was decent (it went well with the potatoes) but they didn't really absorb it very well. The service wasn't bad. Only thing we noticed is they topped up our glasses of wine from our bottle the first time but that was it. TLDR: 4/5 for atmosphere. 3/5 for food.

Yelp
Hands down our favourite place in Leeds! We have eaten breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday lunch at Ox Club and we're never disappointed. The quality of the food is top notched and is matched by the friendly, attentive service. I would always recommend the Hispi Cabbage as a side and ask your waiter for wine recommendations, they're very knowledgeable! Always a treat!

Yelp
Went to Ox Club (bottom level of Headrow House) for brunch yesterday and was not disappointed. I had booked a couple days in advance thankfully, because it got quite busy around 1 o'clock and there was a bit of a wait. Quite Scandi/basic interior, and surprisingly a small amount of tables. Menu catered to a lot of different needs, they had a traditional breakfast, french toast, pancakes (all with a little bit of a twist) and more unusual options such as cauliflower shawarma, bubble and squeak, steak and eggs. We ended up going for the French Toast, which I think is maybe the best french toast I've ever had. Ever. Coconut shavings on top, maple syrup and a maple siracha butter melting on top which was unreal. I wanna go back specifically for that butter. Also tried the Bubble and Squeak which I was less impressed with, served in a skillet and was just small boiled new potatoes, average tasting sausage with a fried egg on top and a side of gravy. I think I definitely made the wrong choice, wouldn't order again of I went back. Overall though, a cool venue and a nice experience. Would definitely return and be interested to see what they had on offer for dinner.
