My husband and I were just driving nearby. I suddenly feel like coffee so we randomly picked one coffee shop in this area and the navigation brought us here. The shop was really well designed, I love the decoration with nice lights and mirrors on the wall. It’s next to the popular brunch place Mission Valley Breakfast Company if you couldn’t find it. The staff here was very friendly, she was very patient helped me to choose one unique but diary free low sugar and decaf coffee. I tried their non diary orange cinnamon roll foam, it was pretty yummy, and there’s a real big piece orange peel inside the cup. The taste is slightly too light for my taste but not bad, I still like it. My husband had an americano, it was pretty nice. If you are nearby, this is a good choice for coffee.

Decided to try out a new coffee shop and this popped up in my google maps, looked cute so I went. The iced brown sugar latte is DELICIOUS, espresso is smooth and it’s sweet enough but not overly sweet. The girl working the counter was also so nice and service was quick even though she was the only one. I got the morning muffin to eat which is cheese and egg on an English muffin (there’s also an option with sausage!) and it was really yummy. $13 for the sandwich and 16oz drink which is pretty fair in my opinion. Will definitely be back!

Loved that their beans are roasted in house. They have a basic menu but look around before you order because you’ll find seasonal menus located in the 8x10 frames along the counter and you’ll miss out like we did. There was a spring menu and a summer menu that just started today for a limited time from 5/30-6/12. We ordered from the basic menu in the tv screen. Got the iced strawberry matcha and flavored ice cinnamon latte. Wow! First sip and you could taste the quality. The ceremonial matcha gave this grassy herbal note but too much sweetener was added for my liking. The espresso blend on the latte had a nice bitter Smokey nutty blend. They sell coffee beans in unique flavor notes like blueberry, lychee, grape, chocolate, etc. Small breakfast items and pastries offered on the go. Oh and they have private classes to learn latte art, coffee tasting, pour over basics, cafe training, just to name a few. The best part, photo worth! Sit on the big floating neon O.

Nice quiet little coffee shop. I ordered the honey iced latte. It was good, I told the barista I didn’t want it too sweet so he made it less sweet than usual. My friend ordered a caramel iced latte and that was extremely sweet in my opinion. If you don’t really drink pure coffee without sugar then you will like the flavored lattes. However, if you DO drink coffee for the natural coffee flavor (no sugar) then I wouldn’t suggest too much of the flavoring. The iced honey latte I had was still a tad sweet for me but thankful there was no bitter taste nor any sort of watered down flavor either.

Google
oxcoffeesd introducing their new summer drinks, I got to try the Dj’s lemonade and Sunny Day Iced coffee, i’m not exaggerating if i say this heat definitely needs those drinks, so refreshing, cooling and yumiii. go grab your summer drink from @oxcoffeesd and enjoy the beautiful vibe around that area.

Nice little cafe in Mission Valley. Plenty of parking. Ordered the flat white. The espresso had great taste and not too acidic. All in all it was smooth and velvety. Would come back again!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Local Gem – Ox Coffee in Mission Valley My mom and I discovered Ox Coffee a few months ago and ever since then, we’ve wondered how we didn’t find it sooner! This place has quickly become a regular part of our routine, and it’s hands-down one of our favorite spots in San Diego. What truly sets Ox Coffee apart isn’t just the quality of their drinks (which are consistently excellent), but the incredible staff who make every visit feel personal and welcoming. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with genuine warmth. They know your name, they remember your order. A special shout-out to Chris, Kevin, and Sydney — each of them brings something wonderful to the experience. Ox Coffee is everything you hope for in a local coffee shop: great drinks, a cozy vibe, and a staff that goes above and beyond. We’re so grateful to have found them, even if it took us a little while — better late than never!

Love this place! Baristas are kind and friendly. Improvements and new things are added to the menu to keep it fresh and fun. Atmosphere is nice and cozy and many tables to do work (there is WiFi!)

Yelp
What a gem of a coffee shop! Had to run to Navy Fed and needed a pick-me-up this morning. Saw there was a coffee shop on the corner so ran over to grab a quick bite and drink. When you walk in, it's very clam and inviting. I love the white walls and greenery plants. The staff was super nice and helpful. I got the iced latte with caramel sauce.. YUM! I also got the Morning Muffin with sausage. I was pleasant surprised how great it was. The sausage was cooked perfect and had great flavor. That's always been my beef with Starbucks is their sausage is sometimes still cold on the inside. NOT OX COFFEE! Cooked perfect! Nothing overpriced and quality was great. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Have been to OX coffee a couple times now and felt like I struck gold in mission valley! Honestly the coffee was delicious and the baristas were so kind. Interior is trendy and relaxing. Multiple small tables Parking outside. Mission valley has been waiting for a craft coffee shop like this!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this coffee spot when I was trying to kill time in Mission Valley. Located next to the TJ Maxx/Home Goods. Chill place to grab coffee & study or catch up with friends. Iced Strawberry Cream: No coffee, but so, so delicious & creamy.
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
The ambiance and service were a five out of five. Lots of seating, cool decor, and vegan cream and non dairy options. Server was friendly. The actual strawberry matcha latte was a 2.5/5. Tasted grainy and had a weird taste to the cream. Could barely get a note of any strawberries. For over $7 for a drink I would hope to get more quality.

Yelp
My kinda morning at ox coffee, Very cute place located in the heart of mission valley. I loved their Matcha

Yelp
Came to meet up my friend for some coffee. I really thought it was a cox store at first. Lol. But this is a chill little spot. Simple menu, and the guy working made some good recommendations. I couldn't decide on hot or cold, so I got both. The drinks were both good. Didn't taste the strawberry flavor too much, but still tasted the tea flavor though. Overall it was a good 1st experience. They also have a wall of stuff to buy, which I forgot to take a pic of. My excuse to go back!

Yelp
Super cute place! Perfect set up for some good pics. Inside/outside seating. Coffee is really good. Got a pumpkin pie chai after they recommended it and YUM! They offer small bites and baked goods. Also had fresh squeezed orange juice! We went there with my ladies group of 8 and they were so welcoming. Definitely recommend for groups. They do coffee tasting events too! Staff is really knowledgeable and friendly Great location to get a coffee before going to HomeGoods. Parking can be rough, do park on the Total Wine side walk over. 10/10 stars.

Yelp
This is a cute little coffee shop! They sell their own espresso blend and some merch as well. I ordered a brown sugar latte, strawberry matcha, an espresso tonic, and an espresso creme frappe. I also tried their croissant and cookie! They do latte art and the drinks were great. The tonic was unique, but hubby didn't care for it. I liked my strawberry matcha though. I recommend getting their croissant too- it was buttery and delicious.

Yelp
A cute clean, relaxed, and modern coffee shop. They roast their beans in-house which always makes for a high quality cup of coffee. I've tried their pour-overs and seasonal lattes. The pour-over has great flavors and their seasonal drinks are always fun to try! Most recently I had their cinnamon toast crunch latte and the snow cap cold brew. The cold brew has vegan foam on it, so I could leave my Lactaid at home :D The baristas here are super kind and great at making any kind of drink. Their pastries are delicious too!
google avatar

Shaza A.

Yelp
A convenient coffee shop located in a bustling shopping center with a clean and pleasant atmosphere. The staff are friendly and welcoming. However, I wish they offered a wider selection of pastries and more fresher ones.

Yelp
The OX coffee next to the popular Mission Valley Breakfast Company was so-so. The iced latte was pretty bland with too much milk. Just based on the iced latte, I would say it is a pretty basic coffee place. I probably have to try their hot coffee items to better taste their coffee beans.

Johnell T.

Yelp
Coffee is so good and I go to a different coffee shop through our San Diego every weekend.
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
Five stars if for nothing other than the cool, educational experience on how they roast the beans in house! Walked across from the Marriott and it was 100% worth it. We were greeted by Alex, who was friendly and knowledgeable and got our to-go coffees perfectly crafted while we peppered him with questions about the roasting process taking place behind the counter. Small decaf flat white with heavy cream and the balance of bitter coffee and smooth cream is just perfect. I'd give them extra stars if I could! If you're local, be sure to hit this place up - I might just make a flight back from Houston to enjoy another cup someday!!

Yelp
Visited OX Coffee for the first time and I was pleasantly impressed! The shop is super modern, great subtle music, perfect for my admin work I needed to get done. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! Will definitely be coming back

Yelp
Vanilla latte's are & everyone that works here is knowledgeable, helpful, & kind. Place is simple and clean. I go here and order my latte before getting my nails done around the corner.

Yelp
Ox Coffee Roasters is an extension of the Rise and Shine Hospitality Group here in San Diego. I had a cortado and a croissant. The croissant was wonderful. I just wished they would have warmed it up better. Its texture was great, and it tasted very good, but it was cold all the way through. It reminded me more of a denser Italian croissant, rather than a French flaky croissant, not that there's anything wrong with that. The cortado had a good beginning but a rough ending. It was rich in flavor as it hit the palate, but the bitterness towards the end was hard to miss. I would definitely like to see them improve it. Service was friendly enough. I was not a fan of the furniture. It does not feel welcoming, nor is it very comfortable.

Yelp
Stopped here for a quick caffeine re-up before heading back onto the road. They have some really unique drinks here! I ordered the iced strawberry cream coffee. It wasn't too sweet & had a very subtle hint of strawberry. It almost tasted like a milkshake! A friend of mine also ordered the espresso tonic, which was really interesting. It literally is tonic with citrus & espresso. It's not my kind of taste, but I'm glad I got to experience the taste of it! It wasn't bad.

Yelp
Ox Coffee is a little coffee shop tucked away between the Breakfast Company and TJ Maxx/Homegoods. Alex made the best matcha latte I have ever had -- the milk was super smooth, just frothy enough and not too foamy. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I can't testify as to that but the matcha was on point. The space is open and chill, but I echo some of the other reviews about the furniture -- not the coziest or comfiest space to hang out. Wifi's pretty good though, and I appreciate that there is usually plenty of parking in the shopping complex.
google avatar

Arnold T.

Yelp
Next to the Mission Valley Breakfast company, it was nice to have an alternative to Starbucks in the area, especially since Milano coffee across the street closed down The frappes were $7-$7.50 - slightly pricey for a small drink. i had the espresso cream and it could use 1 or 2 more shots of espresso. The mocha frappe didn't have much mocha flavor and to be fair we asked it to be less sweet so they put less of the mocha powder. The sweetness and mocha flavor come from the power so there wasn't a way to make it less sweet without losing the mocha flavor. The staff is very friendly.

Yelp
I have been getting my nails done in the same shopping center as Ox coffee for many years, and I always felt that there was a need for a coffee shop. There are so many other types of businesses there. Also, who doesn't need coffee while getting nails done? Apparently they have been open since February, though it is now June and I just noticed the sign for the first time. Perhaps they put up new signage recently. I rounded the corner from the nail salon to check out this new coffee shop. It has a very sleek and modern style. Decor is minimalist. It appears to be very clean. It was around 4 PM in the afternoon and I was the only customer at that time. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly, answered my questions, and talked me through some drinks. I decided on the iced brown sugar latte, half sweet. I thought the flavor sounded good, but he let me know that normally the drink is quite sweet. Anyway, I enjoyed my drink.. Looks like the iced lattes only come in one size, which appears to be about 16 oz or so (I am not sure) and cost $7.50. Though my drink was good, it wasn't fancy and it seemed a bit expensive for what it was. All in all, I had a very good experience. I will be back next time I get my nails done, but I may pick something a little less costly.
google avatar

Teddy B.

Yelp
Ordered one of the lattes and did not taste good..Do not recommend this place. The lack of flavor and quality of taste is just something you could make at home..
google avatar

Lee S.

Yelp
Great beverages created by friendly and knowledgeable baristas. Have your picture taken in the giant "O" chair. Watch and smell the amazing fragrance of the coffee roasters.
google avatar

Diana F.

Yelp
Starting out this was an interestingly decorated coffee shop. It didn't from the outside look like a coffee shop. Inside it was quiet. Tidy, simplistic. A succulent wall. A few other unique features like a circular chair. The menu was clearly displayed. The staff was kind and quick to help with my order. She got me exactly what I wanted and it was delicious. A caramel caffeinated beverage. She was chatty and sweet. Overall aside from it looking like a different type of store, it was fun, and tasty. I'd recommend stopping and if I'm back to SD I'll def be stopping back in!
google avatar

Yelp
Why go to a Starbucks when you can get an awesome pour over with a super friendly staff. Their pastries are great, get the cookie and the ambiance chill. Shoutout to Alex for his unbelievable kind, genuine, and gentle demeanor with guests. Truly impressed.

Yelp
Clean bathrooms Easy parking Vanilla latte Spacious Cute interior Friendly & Quick service Pretty high quality coffee shop in the mission valley area! Will definitely come back here!

Yelp
Found a cute little coffee shop in Mission Valley, next to Mission Valley Breakfast Company. Menu is pretty simple and the baristas are very knowledgeable about their coffee. I normally don't drink coffee but was recommended an espresso tonic and I was sold. Very interesting taste and not too much coffee. Also grabbed a matcha for my son. Check them out!
google avatar

Lorena J.

Yelp
The coffee is excellent, try one of their pour overs! The staff are amazing, kind and so personable. My fav drink is the Strawberry Matcha. Love a small business, quiety tucked away in Mission Valley. Definitely give them a try!
google avatar

Shelly M.

Yelp
Decent coffee, friendly barista and quick service. It was cold today and ox coffee was perfect for warming me up to shop next door.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is sweet! Came down here with a friend since they were hosting a beginners late art class and Chris was such a great host. You can definitely tell when someone is passionate about their craft and his kind personality was the perfect combo. The technique taught was super helpful and easy to grasp. I definitely sampled a lot of lates that night and loved them so much I grabbed a bag of their seasonal mistletoe blend and it's amazing. Thanks again for the fun night, hoping to join for level 2.
google avatar

White D.

Yelp
Coffee and Service was amazing. Very nice coffee shop cool to see them roasting coffee beans inside their store. I got a double Cortado and it tasted great. They carefully craft each beverage.
google avatar

Christina X.

Yelp
Place is quiet. Not many customers. My husband ordered an iced strawberry matcha. It's basically matcha in milk with strawberry cream. Too sweet for me. The matcha color doesn't look vibrant at all. It's an okay place. I didn't see any customer sitting here. Probably a grab and go coffee place. I was there early afternoon on a Saturday
google avatar

Faithh H.

Yelp
Went to check out this new coffee place in Mission Valley and I loved the overall vibe! Staff were super friendly, very attentive and knowledgeable over their craft. Also their latte art was pretty! I ordered a strawberry cream, which while on the sweeter side, was definitely enjoyable! I've also tried their strawberry matcha latte which was yummy! They have pastries available too - the croissant was super flaky and was the perfect pairing to my latte!

Henry G.

Yelp
Not very busy but only one employee. Wait time was ok, but another employee would have helped. Ordered a chai latte. It was bland and barely warm.

D D.

Yelp
If you like black/strong coffee, definitely come here. I have had their iced coffee, americano, and cold brew and enjoyed every single one. I recommend adding a single shot to the iced coffee for an extra pick-me-up. The staff is SO nice. Alex, Maia, and Chris all introduced themselves to me right when I ordered and gave me good recommendations. Also, they roast IN HOUSE which is unique and fun!
google avatar

Emmie K.

Yelp
I don't know what other reviewers are talking about, this place is a breath of fresh air. It seems as though they only reviewed to push people to SBux, which is not where you wanna go if you ACTUALLY like coffee. The roast that I tried was clearly fresh, with the oils and undertones still intact. And it pairs well with vanilla, which is one of my gripes about other coffee places- it seems to come out tasting like burnt marshmallows. But Ox has figured it out! Plus the baristas are all really friendly, and seem to genuinely enjoy being there. Don't bother with the reviews that push you to Bux unless you want burnt bean water. Trust me- give Ox a try.

Kevin S.

Yelp
Excellent coffee, amazing latte art and engaging and friendly baristas. We came back our second day after our first visit since it was so good. Will definitely be back again when in town.

Yousra L.

Yelp
I visit here almost every morning, and their coffee roast is absolutely delicious. I believe all of their syrups are made in-house. If you prefer sugary drinks with burnt coffee, Starbucks might be more your style. Respectfully. :) Fantastic coffee, friendly staff, and a great atmosphere.
google avatar

Greg A.

Yelp
Barista was hella cool and helpful. I had the espresso tonic which had orange peel, mint. Very good and refreshing on a sunny spring day.
google avatar

Leonel J.

Yelp
Nice ambiance, modern looking place. Did not seem like a place to sit and study/read a book. The services was on point, they were willing to answer questions and offer suggestions, very welcoming. Ordered a cappuccino and a latte. The coffee was okay, notes of dark chocolate at the end, but lacked a bit of aroma in the beginning.
google avatar

Osanna B.

Yelp
Stopped by here after an urgent care visit in the same shopping center. The barista was very helpful and friendly, and she patiently helped me select an iced brown sugar latte. The latte was good - not too sweet. I would come back again if I'm in the area.
google avatar

Letisha M.

Yelp
This coffee shop is a delight! Alex's upbeat and friendly personality is contagious and instantly puts me in a good mood. The drinks are consistently tasty and prepared quickly. I highly recommend this place. :)
google avatar

Christian S.

Yelp
The coffee and service here are excellent! If you ever want to learn more about coffees, Chris or any of the other team members are very knowledgeable. You know your taste buds are in good hands with this crew!

Brenda N.

Yelp
Iced Matcha was mid. You can see the powder was not whisked all the way. It taste like Costco's matcha powder

Ariel Z.

Yelp
Service awesome, chai delicious, hot chocolate is kid approved :) we loved it all. The hope cookie was super yummy as well.
google avatar

Simmi A.

Yelp
Prices were high in my opinion. At the cost I'd rather go to Starbucks to get my coffee. Nothing that really excited me: decor was simple, pastries didn't look especially enticing and coffee options were pretty standard. The service was great, but not enough of a reason to come back.
google avatar

JoAnne K.

Yelp
Weak in flavor. Need to work on the roast. Should impress from first or second sip.

Cristina M.

Yelp
Ox Coffee in Mission Valley has premium house-roasted coffees, teas, frappes and it's all delicious!love the spacious location with good vibes and plenty of photo opp spots. It's the perfect place to gather, maybe WFH, and enjoy a good cup of coffee. They also have pastries and fast and friendly baristas!

Paula P.

Yelp
Good coffee beans here and good service. I got the iced white mocha which was flavored just right and not too sweet. My husband got the nitro cold brew. Both were great!
