Our group was supposed to have dinner and a few drinks. Then something gravitated us towards Oxford’s to celebrate our friends marriage. Would definitely recommend for groups. Good music clean restrooms. Big thank you to our patient team Hostess Jacqueline and Table Tender Mark for taking care of us ! MAJOR TIP - Men don’t show up in shorts unless you can afford bottle service !

If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm writing this review on behalf of my girlfriend who went to this establishment last night, as I would prefer to keep her anonymous. DO NOT come here. This is a predatory establishment who like other reviews are saying. Not only were the male customers aggressive, but the bouncers, employees, and owner were continuously attempting to drag her and her female friends to other tables, saying “my client wants these girls so they’re going to sit down and have some fun”. That is unacceptable and frankly disgusting behavior, not only by the obviously middle aged men who are looking at early twenties women, but by the bouncers and staff. Additionally when the guy in my girlfriend’s group got in between this, he was almost kicked out for intervening, saying he was aggressive toward who we later found out was the owner. I fear for what would have happened if he wasn’t there to intervene. Luckily they all were able to leave without anything happening. Not only were they overserved, having received several free drinks, but my girlfriend who can handle her liquor and was feeling fine before, received a drink and subsequently could not remember the rest of the night.

Awful vibe for a Friday night. An aggressive promoter pulled me and my friends in with the promise of a free bottle and we did not receive it. Ok DJ but an empty club. Would not recommend.

I had so much fun dancing all night and making friends here! Debaby was amazing on stage. I was there to be coming it was one of my main first firstest if not the more newest time being in a club or night dance so but it's estatic all went so calming fun down to earth respectfully that time respectful environment dancing as the night went on all went well I also gon in slipped it in but the best of it my best time was ..the Dogg Dog of the Dogs out there...Snoop Dogg! Reppin played with turntables! So unique pleasant one of a kind asmosis for me. Lots of thumbs 👍

I had a good time because the music was vibin. However, I did not appreciate the workers at the front door they ignore you when asked to be let in after stepping outside for a smoke break. They didn't communicate with us to let us know why they were ignoring us. Finally in the end had to stand up to them to basically demand respect . I shouldn't have to do that so if it wasn't for that experience, this would have been a 5 star rating. Management needs to train everyone on customer service because unhappy customers means less money and bad publicity for your business!

Cute place, clean bathrooms, but the dance floor is pretty dead, even on weekends. Everything’s so expensive, only worth it when there’s a celeb DJ. Their promoters have promised me so many different things and they haven’t followed through.

Classy place. Pricey drinks and bottle service when you can get it. Decent dance music. I like the lights!

The spot to go to see and be seen. Definitely worth a visit. Bar service and bottle service is always on point. The place is luxurious. It's no wonder when sports teams come to town, this is their go to spot. I'll be back soon.

Birthday celebration means birthday drinks at the club. However this location has Drinks that are ridiculous priced. Great photo opportunity in front of the sign with the clubs name.

If you are looking for a great night out Oxford is your place. Everything about our time was amazing. The music, the drinks, and the service was everything we could have asked for and more. We came here for my sister's birthday and left with nothing but great stories and memories!

This is an upscale dance club. We had dinner close by and decided to pop in. We were the only people in line at 10:30 so we were able to walk right in order ourselves a nice cocktail at the bar and dance dance dance. They do have table service, however they do play music for you to dance around and there are some places where you can sit

I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with the experience and service my friends and family were given on a Saturday (May 11th, 2024). To preface, I came down from LA with a handful of other family members and friends all coming together to San Diego to celebrate our SDSU graduates. The event we decided to attend this night was planned out days before in order for all of us to attend and spend our time together. Firstly, our Guestlist we signed up for via Oxford website was denied. The security who let us in told us that the price to enter was $60. I spoke consistently with him and he continued to tell us that the product we purchased was refunded (on the same day 1-2 hours BEFORE THE EVENT STARTED) and that we could not enter. Oxford failed to inform anyone of these changes and also failed to mention this to their staff. There were at least 20 other 'potential' customers who arrived with the same dilemma I had. We were all turned away as they did not honor or want to work out a situation with us. I requested for a manager yet the security told us we have to reach out via email... this was infuriating as soon as we were about to leave a gentlemen dressed in light green came out of Oxford and was talking to the security. He was a manager and didn't even attempt to acknowledge us. To rub it even more into our faces, another clueless employee asked us if we were attending the event... we told him yes because we purchased tickets with a guest list. He instructed us to enter but he didn't even know that Oxford was not honoring what they had originally intended (the tickets that were refunded AND guest-list entry we signed up for). The lack of communication between clientele and Oxford was so apparent that they were also failing to communicate to their own staff what was going on... very unprofessional. The unprofessionalism Oxford established that night through their lack of communication and no attempt to cater to clients left an awful taste on the night. I would advise going somewhere else where you will be treated with professional customer service.

TLDR: If you're a middle aged man looking to behave predatory toward women, this place is for you. Otherwise staff and other "clients" will try to separate women from their groups.

Very spacious and the layout is convenient. Has two large opposing bars. Great hip hop music. Met really dope people.

After 11 years in San Diego, I've finally had the best nightlife experience! My friends and I were walking downtown when we were invited in by a promoter. We agreed to go check it out and move on if the music wasn't up to par. When I walked in, I noticed all these couches, and the layout was very different and cozy compared to a typical club. But the best part was the music! When we walked in, @ djsteez_ made us want to stay ( I looked him up). Everyone in there was having a great time and dancing to every single song! As a result, we decided to stay. The next DJ was @djangievee, who was on fire! She performed trap, hip-hop, reggaeton, and afrobeats. My friends and I were impressed by how smoothly each track flowed and how much fun everyone was having. I believe that the music played in a club has a significant impact on the night that people like me and the guests have. When the DJ is this good, all we want to do is keep drinking and dancing. After this one incredible night, I would definitely return especially if @djangievee returns.

So my girlfriend wanted to checkout a night club , we decided to check this place out .... the door men were rude and the promoters out side were even ruder , don't know why the place was dead. The bar tenders were the only good thing about this place. We walked over to the dj booth and there was a big women wearing a see through shirt so she was basically topless. So we thought it was a gay / lesbian club ......and left after paying an expensive cover charge. This place is a woke dead dungeon with rude employees don't bother.

I put my self on the guess list that was supposed to to close at 11:30 they closed it at 10:40 and wasn't letting any guys in only girls don't go here they will waste ur time

Oxford social club is an upscale club. DJ playlist was awesome. Vibe was lots of fun & got a free pass after walking down 5th from a nice promoter. Must visit if you like dancing & music.

Early 20's crowd, very sultry but upscale ambiance. You could tell it was a spot for well off young athletes, college young adults. They closed one of the bars which forced everyone to one side and made everything very crowded.

Terrible customer service. Worst service I've ever experienced, from the bouncers to the bar tenders and this club has the worst music. I've enjoyed myself more at a cercus. Save your money and your time and go somewhere else

The vibes and music of this place never disappoints! Both times we have been lured in by someone while walking in the street, so we did not need to pay the cover which is nice, but I would go in regardless

Excellent staff and an amazing experience. The crowd was respectful and the music was perfect. We had bottle service which in my opinion is the only way to go so that might have helped with my review but the price was affordable so why wouldn't you. All in all we had an exceptional experience and I would like to thank JT, Derek and Boris for making my experience a memorable one. If I could give this place more stars I would.

Low key club not too pack. It was just the two of us and we literally had the best night ever. The DJ was playing hip hop, edm, & bachata/reggaeton. Im giving it four stars because there wasn't really much of a dance floor. The entire club had private booths all throughout the club. I wish they at least got rid of one of the booths in front of DJ to make it a dance floor. It was a bit awkward dancing on the walkway while everyone was trying to get to their booths. Also don't forget to dine at Lion Fish, which is next door for the best sushi EVER!!!

So fun! Definitely a different type of club vibe then SF and Nova as well as Mavericks. It's so comfy open and cute, definitely recommend getting a table if your going to go with a group and finding a promoter for a discount - pricey! Bottle service girls were awesome along with staff SO much fun & not crowded at all great time dancing and drinking to much for a bachelorette trip!

the bouncer charles denied us entry because he said you can't bring satchels in, that's totally fine but the friend he pointed out was my gay male friend who had a tiny crossbody, the same type of bag all of us girls had. he only had a problem with a man carrying a handbag. when we asked him why his bag wasn't okay and the others were he just screamed at us that he has the right to refuse service to anyone and to get the fck out of his line. homophobic and cruel for no reason. if you don't know what a satchel is it probably shouldn't be part of your "dress code"

I would NEVER go again to this club. They have the cheapest drinks ever!! The place is crowded, people are kind of rude, and I didn't feel comfortable at all.

Love Oxford , day & night is hella cool if you're looking for hip hop. Ask for di relish.

Upscale nightclub in the Pendry hotel. Drinks are on the pricier side, which is expected, and music seemed to be good. Club gets crowded really fast so make sure to get in earlier.

DONT GO HERE!!! Promoter found us and lied that it was free for everyone and we could cut the line, then we got down there and some of the people had to pay. Then another worker there, his name was Omar J Mitchell "Promoter Manager" asked if we wanted free alcohol from a random group of guys at the bar because they "didn't want the rest of their bottles." The most unprofessional place I have ever been. No worker should offer another guests alcohol, rule #1z Definitely does not prioritize their guests feeling safe and comfortable. I understand trying to make a buck, but this place is super creepy, don't go here.

Looking for an upscale club with great music , drinks and vibe then Oxford is the spot to check out . Jump on the guest list for complimentary entry and enjoy the night under the chandelier. Bartenders are quick and provide great service and security is always keeping everyone safe and making sure everyone has a great time

Ho ho holy Batman! What a night!! My girlfriend coaxed me downtown on a weeknight to see Neyo! And, the party was on. There were wall to wall people, yet still only about two degrees of separation between us and him! Yes. I was star struck. But this was not my first rodeo at OSC. This is my fav club downtown, with beautifully upholstered couches and lighting throughout!! I always enjoy the music here. So if your looking for a classy place to club, put on your fashionable party attire and come on down and be ready to dance!!

I went there on my friend's recommendation. I went there on Saturday, March 23 to celebrate my birthday. Their website was very easy to navigate and add ourselves to the guest list, which I thought was very convenient. We got there on time to enter the club, and the door person was nice and very approachable. We checked in with another girl at the door, and she instructed us to walk down. Going downstairs is very dark and the stairs are not lit so just be careful there was somebody with a flash flashing the stairs, so that was nice. It definitely prevented a fall. I was very impressed with the inside of the club. It definitely reminded me of a Las Vegas nightclub. I love the layout of the club with all of the seating areas and couches. The music was good I'm not going to say that it was great, because I was hoping for a little bit more Latin and the DJ kept repeating music. Might go to drink a margarita, and it did not disappoint. I definitely want to go back.

This place is the perfect place to go if you want to experience San Diego and Party! Bottle service is great. The presentations are amazing, it's classy and sophisticated.

I'm honestly very confused about this place LOL The first time I went I didn't have a good experience and that was just my honest truth and I'm entitled to my opinion. I was downtown on Friday with one of my girlfriends and we were just bar/club hopping the whole night. Along the way a total of 3 promoters for Oxford approached us for free entry/ free drinks. They were all nice, but I kindly declined because of my last experience and didn't think I wanted to go back. My friend that I was with had never been to Oxford and I told her about my last visit but she suggested to give it another try. So after visiting a few places downtown we decided to make Oxford one of our pitstops. I do believe in second chances and maybe bad first impressions. Surprisingly, I had a great experience the second time around. If I didn't know any better I would have thought that they completely changed the staff at the Oxford Social Club. The people I encountered this past Friday were all super nice LOL I was really confused. Even the bouncers and bartenders this time around were all loving? ha ha Definitely can't buy my love, but truthfully I had an awesome time on Friday! I loved the music and the crowd was better. Not sure if he was a bouncer but one of the guys working there was cute too! LOL The first time I came with my two of my friends: one boy and one girl, this time around it was just me and one of my girlfriends. I'm guessing the better service is because we were just two girls this time. Note to self: Ditch the dudes when you're out and about! We ended up staying longer than planned because it was that much fun! LOL on the way out the security guard even said, "I Love You" LMFAO D'awww make us blush! I'm happy I gave Oxford another try and I would love to come back and enjoy their music!

GOT SPIT IN THE FACE BY A DUDE! Came here on Thursday night 2/16 for the first time. My friends and I were walking around Gaslamp after line dancing at moonshine and a promoter convinced us to check out their place. The DJ was okay. Anyways, a guy was upset and felt us girl were too "drunk" and called us sluts. I promise you we were just dancing and having a good time. I confronted the guy for saying such derogatory comments. He got defensive and spit in my face, then ran away. Security did nothing About it. One of the worst nights of my life.

Great nightclub in SD. Energy of the place was spot on. Very clean and amazing spot in Downtown. The service of the staff was friendly and efficient. Thanks for the good times I will definitely stop by again.

My friends and I were staying at the Pendry hotel for a friend's birthday. We walked downstairs and saw Oxford as a place to stop at. We were greeted by someone named Derek and he promptly seated us at a table. We were welcomed with open arms and were given a coupon for the first round. The bottle service was very quick and we were always taken care of. We had a good time and I'm glad we ran into Oxford from our hotel.

Don't go here. My friends and I had a table. I went outside for some fresh air. They wouldn't let me back in even when I was completely sober. Terrible ethics: do not recommend.

Classy place for San Diego. High end, it's like a vegas ultra lounge. Beautiful crowd (everyone well dressed), great dj, bottle service tables. Customer service was on par to high end places I've been to in LA, NY, etc

Located in the Pendry Hotel, you'll find Oxford Social Club. It is the newest and hottest classy lounge in San Diego. They recently opened in February 2017 and when I dined at Lionfish I noticed everyone going in. I don't like clubbing but this place is classy. I loved every moment of my experience. My friends and I were able to get on Ali's guestlist. She's that beautiful lady at the front entrance and one of the hosts so definitely hit her up for bottle service. For me, bottle service is the way to go so you have a place to sit rather than standing between all of the couches throughout. The drinks were alright as like any other place. The workers and servers were beautiful and friendly. Great music, high energy and nice adult patrons. (Not new 21 year olds spilling drinks) Thanks again Ali! My friends and I had a great time. Can't wait to visit again.

I'm not into the clubbing scene anymore, so I hesitantly decided to check out this venue with my friends for a long awaited girl's night out last weekend. Oxford is a nightclub/bar that is part of the Pendry, so it has the same sophisticated vibe as the hotel and restaurant. There were a couple people working with Oxford who asked me if I wanted to check out this new establishment while I was walking to my dinner destination, but we were actually already on the guest list. They had open bar from 10-11pm on this particular night, so a lot of girls took advantage of that. I don't really drink much, so I only had sips of Tequila, and some other drinks that my friends got for me. I absolutely love the decor here! It is very spacious, but also intimate and relaxed. The plush couches need to be reserved, but we were able to enjoy the space for a long time until the next party arrived. The entire staff here is amazing!! Everyone is so friendly and nice. AJ, one of the staff members, even walked us to the club and chatted with us later on when he came back. The gorgeous girls all wear the same pretty blue lace dresses and the guys looked spiffy as well- you can tell who works here by the flower and pins on their suit. The music here is different! They played a lot of hip hop songs from 2000 that you don't normally get to hear at other clubs, which was pretty cool. I was able to connect with some cool people when we left the couch and came back to the bar area. On our way to the bathroom we noticed a photo booth that takes GIF's. Even though I was hesitant to come out and only planned to stop by, I'm so glad I did because I had a fabulous time and actually wouldn't mind coming back! It's not your typical night club and more like a lounge- definitely a great addition to the Gaslamp Quarter!

Oxford Social Club is a classy lounge type, dance club, and cocktail bar that just recently opened up (February 2017) in Gaslamp area of San Diego; more specifically in the Pendry Hotel. According to their website, they are an "avant-garde nightclub" and a "swanky nightclub" that brings the energy, attitude, and culture of the boisterous 5th Avenue indoors. I was lucky to go on a Saturday night with some Yelp Elite friends that were able to get us on a guestlist. It's the only way to party, woop woop!! For the layout of the club, there are bars on either end with tables in the middle. There's no "dance floor", but I saw most folks were dancing around their tables. According to their calendar, there are musical guests DJs on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. On the Saturday evening that we went, it was hip hop music from the 2000. Yea!! I personally love the classy atmosphere. Makes me miss NYC less!! I definitely will be back!! Totally got scammed here. Bouncers promised a free table and bottle and ended up making my group of 10 pay a grand. Which would normally be okay, if we even booked the table in the first place..... they just want to gather groups so their club seems more packed! Please don't get scammed like we did.

Great place to have lots of fun. Highly recommended. I went there by myself and I had so much fun. It was unforgettable night. The place was fully packed and more it was free entry. Thank you very much.

My Girls & I had the best time celebrating my Birthday here!! Our server, Jess, was beautiful & so sweet!! Jess came out with Lights and a Birthday sign for me, and even got the DJ to shout me out!! Bartenders were nice... Just overall an awesome time- we'll be back!!

So I personally paid almost $2000 to have my birthday at Oxford. We were having a great time until a creepy dude started harassing us at our table (8 women) & refused to leave after I asked him nicely multiple times. He said something offensive & reached out towards me so I emptied my drink on him. The security guard who was nowhere to be found suddenly appears & starts barking at me, saying he's going to put me in jail. I was even pulled aside out of the table over it. I tried to explain that I had already asked this guy nicely to leave us alone multiple times & that he was harassing us... but by that point I was so upset over being accused and threatened with jail time and legal action for trying to protect myself and my friends... my night was already ruined. I paid $2000 for a table there & I left the club crying on my birthday. Extremely rude & completely unacceptable. That same security guard should've been there doing his job & protecting US instead of a random drunk guy. Take care of your customers... especially women & in matters of safety. I'll call them today, but I doubt anything will be done about it.

Recently took my little sister for her 21st birthday had a guy grabbed her butt without her consent, and after she nicely said that she wasn't interested the guy told her he was gonna hit her after we told the bouncer that he was going to hit her he's still let Him walk around the club so he could do it again to another Girl, if women don't feel comfortable in your establishment, then women won't come to your business. Women are the ones that are surrounded by this industry, and this business should take more responsibility and protecting their women. Our whole night was ruined, and made us feel unsafe If we could, we would get this establishment a zero stars

One line summary: Rude bar staff with weak drinks. No dance floor, so get bottle service - this place is a loud lounge at best. My name was on the guest list, but a promoter got in my face before I could reach the line and asked if I wanted to get in free - sure... only skipped maybe 5 people who were in line at 10:30 on a Saturday. The venue is small, 2 bars on each end and sofas and tables filling the sides and middle. It appears Oxford Social caters to bottle service because there is no dance floor... just sofas and tables everywhere. This place claims to be a nightclub and nothing more - no attempt for customer service, swanky decor or luxurious feel (the pics on here deceived me-- I only saw sofas and blue lights). Oxford Social doesn't make any fancy cocktails (once again deception... these professional pics posted on Yelp are misleading). The bartenders prefer to serve beer and shots... if you request any sort of cocktail they water it down with syrup or juice and dash it with alcohol. I had the unfortunate pleasure of ordering a drink from a female and male bartender - both rude and aloof. I think they got butt hurt when I asked what drinks they're known for, they were both robots and repeated "We're just a nightclub serving nightclub drinks". No offer of suggestions, just watered down drinks served with a whole bunch of attitude. The only saving grace was the music, a live DJ was playing 90s hip hop + the new new music for the hour I was there. If the bartenders' words are true and Oxford Social is a real nightclub serving shots + vodka cranberries I never want to go to a nightclub again. I prefer good music, strong drinks, fancy lights and good energy at a self proclaimed non-nightclub any day of the weekend! 2 stars because this place is clean and the music was bumping!

I was escorted here with friends by the manager of Monkey King when my friends and I told him we wanted to dance. They were nice enough to quickly let us in (there was 13 of us) The venue was packed on a Sat night. No where to really sit or dance but the music was great. Getting a drink wasn't that bad but.....we all noticed and smelled vomit all over the floor right next to the bar area and when we walked to the restroom, it smelled sooooo bad. I'm not exaggerating one bit when I say it reeked of rotten fish. Omg so Terrible. It was Getting late and the smells were killing us, so we left less than an hour after we arrived.

went here for my besties bachelorette and had the best time! I even lost my wallet and got it back the next day thanks to the amazing security.

My girlfriend and I were visiting San Diego for a vacation and we happened to stop by here while in the GasLamp quarter. The cover charge was $10/person and inside it is pretty much a nightclub you would see in Las Vegas. It was packed and the music was on point! There was plenty of tables if you wanted to order bottle service. Overall, I would come here again if you wanted to enjoy a good night out!
