Bay Area-Based Food Delivery Startup Food Rocket Is Relocating to North Carolina | Eater SF

"I saw that Oy Gluten Free Baking Company, from the team behind Los Gatos’ Polenteria, announced on Instagram on February 16 that it has already outgrown its relatively new location and will move just down the street to serve Equator coffee alongside its celiac-safe pastries, with a projected opening date of March 5." - Paolo Bicchieri

I had an issue with an order on 8/23 and requested a refund of $135. I only received a refund of $110. I will gladly take this review down when I receive the additional $25 refund. I emailed the owner/management in trying to get resolution on my issues and only got partial resolution. What I will say is that the comment by another reviewer that their product is “wildly inconsistent” is completely valid. I ordered 3 cakes three weeks in a row. The first cake on 8/16 was spot-on and perfect. No issues. The second cake on 8/23 was supposed to be 8” but they tried to give me a 6” cake because they accidentally made the wrong size. They also forgot to make the cake and didn’t have it ready until just 2 hours before my party. I ended up accepting an alternate cake that was less value. I paid $110 for an $85 cake and I want a refund for $25. I cancelled my order for 8/30 after this ordeal and did get a refund for the final cake. I’m not trying to say I should pay $0 for the 8/23 cake, I just want a refund for the difference in value of the actual goods received. This is reasonable. Picture so you can see the disaster they ended up giving me on 8/23. My partner says I should ask for the entire $110 back since we didn’t get the vegan cake we ordered but again… I’m trying to be reasonable here. Dealing with re-decorating this cake an hour before my baby shower was definitely not the highlight of my celebration.

I got a blueberry muffin and it was one of the best blueberry muffin I’ve ever had. I’d recommend to go early because they do sell quickly and it’s part of a restaurant so the bakery section is small.

Stopped in on a Monday morning for snacks and focaccia - yum! The cinnamon roll is a star and doesn't have the grainy texture of so many non-wheat baked goods. It's spongy and cinnamon-y in the best way. Loved the atmosphere and wished we'd had time for a coffee drink and some reading - seating inside and out.

LOVE this gluten free bakery! ❤️ Their Coffee Cake is to die for! Love the English muffins and banana bread too! I'm sure everything is delicious, I just haven't had a chance to try it all yet. One negative is that their opening hours are not consistent with what Google maps says. I've shown up more than once and they were unexpectedly closed. 😕 They've now changed location and reduced their days to three days a week. Sad to see my favorite GF bakery become so inaccessible.

I loved baked goods, but as a celiac, my options are very limited. And GF baked goods are often heavy/stodgy/greasy. However, OY! has managed to do it really well - a celiac-safe uncompromisingly tasty bakery! I made a small detour to try this place and was not disappointed. Tucked away in a little cul de sac of N. Santa Cruz Ave, there was not a huge variety of savoury items, but plenty of sweet. We tried the cinnamon coffee cake which was perhaps my favorite. A nice crisp outside with cinnamon sugar on top, and a vein of cinnamon sugar through the middle of the cake. The bottom was a little crusted with some of it cooked which was a nice addition. The cake itself was firm, but airy and light - not at all crumbly. Will return for this one! We also tried the flourless chocolate cake. A nice crust on the outside, and very fudgy on the inside. It was good, but a little rich for my taste. The raspberry blondie was also good. Not too sweet, and with plenty of fruit in the middle. Like the chocolate cake, it was very moist - I think these would be great with a blob of cream or ice cream as a dessert! The small cheesecake was sweet, but fluffy not too dense. The crust was a little too sweet for me, and I think slightly caramelized in the cooking, so it was an interestingly moist/crisp/caramel note to each mouthful. I’m really looking forward to trying the breads and savoury items. So very glad that there’s such a good GF bakery in the South Bay!

I stopped here this morning just to get some GF food. I have never been here before and heard about it from a coworker and wanted to try it. The bakery is inside of the Polenteria restaurant (see pic for guidance to the entrance). The closest parking is the lot surrounding Victory Lane. I was able to find a spot when I arrived around 11 am Thursday even though it was fairly full. I checked the restaurants menu when I got home and found out it had an 'entire gluten free Italian menu'. Now I have to go back for dinner sometime. I got a 3 pack of Jalapeno bagels for $12, 2 large cookies at $5 each, and a brownie for $9. It was pricier than another GF bakery I had recently visited in another town.

Always on the lookout for gluten free baked goods so happy to see this open up. More gluten free options in the South Bay! Got the vanilla muffin and chocolate chip scone. Really delicious! Nice texture, seemed very fresh. Excited to give their parent restaurant down the street a try some time soon.

I came across this place through Google maps and curiosity set it. Personally I don’t really enjoy gluten free pastries but this place was amazing! I was not disappointed. Keep in mind they recently changed their location to next door. Their selection of bread was pretty small but they still had a few savory and sweet breads. I got a pesto bun, as well as a peanut butter cookie. I asked them what ingredients they were using for the bread and they mentioned they used a potato flour and non gluten flours. I never knew you could make bread with those! The bread itself was delicious and had a fluffy texture just like regular bread. The cookie was chewy and with tons of flavor. My hope is that next time I come back they have a larger selection of breads.
