Going for 5, based on total experience ( 4.5 for beers) . First off, called and asked about the Groupon I had from 2015 for a tasting for 2. I procrastinated, then they closed for the big move, and I forgot about it. Confirming that it was worth at least face value, they said come in and who knows! My son and I got there about 10 minutes before AFC championship kickoff. We snagged the last 2 open bar stools, right in front of the TV. 15 minutes later, the joint was jumping. I asked about the Groupon, and no questions asked, honored, we were off and running on the house selection 5 pour flight. Barn Rocker Session Ale and She Sells Sea Shells lager were nice interpretations of the styles. Honey Ale had a nice layer of sweetness upfront ( and $5 pints during games). After those 3, we got more into my zone. Climbing up the hop profile with the Beach Pail APA, nice balance of malt to mild bitter and flight ended with the IPA, west coast style DIPA , pine and grapefruit, mildly hoppy. Service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive, positive attitudes even as it got busy.
The $2 additional just made sense at this point, as my son and I analyzed the game, talked about beer, music and life. So to temper us a little, we ordered one of the crispy, burnished, salty hot pretzels to share. Perfect! Enjoyed the Baymen's Oyster Stout, full bodied with a little salinity from the oysters; Belgian Ale, bananas and spice; Coffee Jeffrey Porter, like an adult cold brew (Southdown); and nice smooth Nitro Porter and ended with a half pint of Captain Kid V2 (accommodating me with a split can since it was off tap), a serviceable NEIPA, cloudy and juicy.
Ready to leave, handed 2 logoed pint glasses and a 64 growler, which they were nice enough to downsize to a 32 for me ( forgot that was part of the deal). Oh....place had a nice vibe, plenty of seating or high tops, games, and dogs to pet. I tried to sample everything on tap, but came up short, which means a return for some of the aged offerings.
