A disappointing brew
We recently visited OZ Cafe, drawn in by the glowing reviews, and I have to say, it really didn't live up to the hype.
Let's start with the coffee itself. For a place with "OZ" in the name, hinting at Australia's renowned coffee culture, the brew was unfortunately pretty mediocre. It lacked the depth and quality I've come to expect, falling short of anything truly memorable.
Then there was the issue with the kids' order. We simply asked for a plain Nutella toast for them, without any extras. Not only did they manage to forget one of them initially, but we were then rather astonished to be charged a whopping $11 for a single piece of toast. That felt quite steep for what it was.
Finally, a point that really stood out, and not in a good way, was the use of paper dishes for everything. In this day and age, with so much emphasis on sustainability, it felt a bit jarring and certainly not very environmentally friendly.
Overall, while the reviews might paint a different picture, our experience at OZ Cafe left us feeling a bit underwhelmed and, dare I say, perhaps a little taken advantage of. It's a shame, as we were hoping for a great coffee experience.
